"And remember asking me what I was going to do with them, but all I would say was that you would see?" the Ace of Knaves continued, his hand touching the button, but not pressing it.

Rosie was quiet for a moment, her eyes resting on the button his finger was on. She looked at it thoughtfully before her eyes darted over to the monitors again. "Which one?" she asked, scrolling over each screen.

"These ones," Joker said, without pointing. He knew it would explain itself in a moment. He pressed the button.
------------------------------------
A large metal door slammed shut behind Shadow Spider, enshrouding the whole room in complete darkness for the briefest of seconds. It didn't last long at all, though, as bright battery-powered floodlights turned on shortly afterwards. This revealed a number of things. The inside walls and ceiling of the funhouse had all been covered with steel and welded together for security. The floodlights had been set up so that there were no shadows anywhere in the room. Lights shined from the floor as well as the ceiling, illuminating even behind the other lights, as well as behind the cameras that were posted to watch the door, and also ones that were watching the room itself. The floodlights also illuminated quite well the gas emmiters that jutted out from the steel walls. And finally, the lights did a fantastic job of shining light all over and around the eight dead bodies that were tied at the wrists and hanging from the ceiling by them. They were all wearing the uniforms of Carnivora employees, and they all had impossibly wide smiles on their faces.
------------------------------------
Four screens lit up on the monitor panel in front of Joker and Rosie.

As the door slammed shut behind her, and the floodlights sprang to life, Roxanne had no choice but to emerge from the shadow as it vanished around her. She grimaced and covered her face with one of her arms as the light blinded her, then slowly lowered it as her vision adjusted.
Though she really wished it hadn't.
Her eyes first fell on the bodies hanging in front of her. Which....explained the human figures she had felt in the dark. Her heartbeat sped up and she immediately scanned the room for an exit. All she found was a well lit box of metal, equipped with cameras and...gas...
Her grimace deepened and she turned around, trying to find something, anything she could do or use to get herself out of here. Shadows were out of the question. She could try to create a thick web around herself, or around the room. That could make some small shadow. but with the floodlights, it would still be to faint to be able to use.

Looking at one of the lit monitors, Joker grabbed the microphone again. "Well, well, well... Who do we have here..." he said into it, opening a drawer and pulling out pictures that he'd gotten by making copies of the ones in Penguin's files.Finding the two that he'd been looking for, he compared them to the person on the screen. "Shadow Spider. Your color scheme's too dark to be the original. You MUST be the clone." He looked at the panel of buttons, and pressed another, just next to the first. "Looks like it's time to pay the piper..." The Harlequin of Hate put the microphone down again, and said to Rosie, "This one won't be so bad. It's the same stuff YOU used."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As there were no speakers built into the funhouse he'd trapped Shadow in, she probably didn't hear much of what he'd said through the steel walls. What she probably DID notice quite clearly was that the emmiters had been activated, unleashing large amounts of Joker Toxin. There was enough SmilEx pouring in for each emmiter to fill the place within a half hour. And emmiters were EVERYWHERE in there.

Rosie looked at him, then looked back at the screens and relaxed in her chair. This she could handle then....nothing real bloody or anything.
Roxanne's eyes widened as she watched the smoke begin to barrel out of the emitters. She cursed under her breath and ran back for the door. As she did so, she created large webs of her black strands, forcing them against the walls and covering anything they could. If she could dim the room some, great. If she could plug up some of the emitters, even better. Not that would do much for her for very long...but it could buy her a little bit of time. She also tried to force her strands into any crack or crevice that she could. Rather hard to do with a steel room, but if she could get them through the cracks in the door, she might be able to reach some of the mechanics in the wall and get the thing open again.
Meanwhile, for those that were able to hear Joker's latest message...
Alex's eyes widened and she stepped fully out of the building. He had Shadow? She...she was alright though, right? Not much could hurt that girl. She just didn't allow it.
She hesitated a moment longer, then decided she'd better try and find the woman regardless. Bending down, she sprinted forward and hurried through the park, trying to pick up any scent she could of Shadow.
Sapphire's head jerked back towards the park as Joker spoke again. When he was finished, she looked back towards Gossamer with a frown. "You coming or not?"
Gossamer hesitated again.

Her strands did plug a few of the emmiters, but nowhere near enough of them. Most of them were still spraying away, filling the room up rather quickly. Running towards the door was probably the best thing she could have done, though; there were no emmiters on it. Between that, and the handful of emmiters that she'd clogged, she probably bought herself another minute, two at the most.

Roxanne stood as close to the door as she could, concentrating on forcing her strands through whatever crack she could around the door. She needed to try and get the door to open...she'd found the mechanics of the thing, but she couldn't get them to move. She brought her cape up over her mouth, trying to block any of the gas she could as it drifted towards her. Under normal circumstances, she could have draped her cape over her to create a shadow under her. That wasn't possible in this room.
When she failed to get the door open, she began smacking at the door, trying to make any noise she could. With any luck, Alex would pick up the sound with that enhanced hearing of hers and....well, she hoped she'd be able break / melt the door down within a minute. At least bust a hole in the wall to breathe through.
Alex suddenly stopped her run as she heard something metallic a couple of yards away from her. Something banging. Whatever it was, it was the first sound she'd heard the entire time she'd been here.
Turning on her heel, Alex sped towards the sound.

Desptie all the measures that she had been taking to prolong her life, the gas was still filling the room, at an astonishing rate. In less than fifteen seconds, it would be too thick for her to see more tha a foot all around her, for all the green Toxin around her.

When the smoke started to blur her surroundings, she began pounding on the door even harder. Now more out of panic than anything else. There was nothing she could do, and she knew it. Suddenly she stopped pounding on the door as the green smoke became thicker.
"Shadow?!" a voice called from the other end of the door.
Roxanne began pounding on the door again. She was there! She was there, she was right on the other side of the door. She was....she was....
...she...
...he....hehehe....
Alex made it to the door, and began to panic herself as the pounding grew frantic after she called out. She took a look at the door and frowned. Damnit....these things were Hell to try and break down. She didn't waste any time though. She let her claws loose and her fists burst into flames. She latched onto the very creases of the door and tried to claw, pull, and melt away what she could. Make an opening, make a loose spot. Make....
She stopped. The pounding had stopped, and there was a new sound behind the door. It....she knew what it sounded like...but she couldn't really believe it. She had NEVER hard Roxanne laugh before...and she certainly would be in a situation like this.
A second or two later though...the laughter stopped, and everything on the other side of the door grew silent.
Rosie watched the monitor with interest. Shadow had been pounding on the door when the venom finally took it's toll. She pounded on the door, then slowly stopped. Her posture arched forward so that her head was leaning against the door...and soon she crumpled to her knees. An arm wrapped around her stomach, then both of them as she began shaking with laughter. Soon...her figure became unnaturally still. Her head still leaning against the door and half hidden behind her hair.
Rosie knew what her face probably looked like, and she as actually glad she wasn't getting to really see it. Shadow had been one of the few people to take care of her for just a bit when she was lost and about. And she had felt rather guilty when she asked Roxy to stay and eat. Giving her.....a rather bad day because of it.

Joker's smile grew again, seeing Shadow Spider's body go limp. He pressed the second button again, stopping the flow of Joker Toxin. Now, he simply had to wait for about five minutes for the built-up gas to dissipate. Of course, if someone broke the door open sooner, they ran the risk of killing themselves... Actually, why DIDN'T he just open the door now? ...Because Gossamer might be on the other side, and he had special plans for her.

Alex stood on the other side of the door for a moment as still as she could be. Staring at the door. Listening for any hint of movement behind it. There was something....very ominous to the silence.
"Shadow? Roxy?" she called out. Still nothing. Growing very anxious, she turned her efforts to tearing open the door again. The most she'd managed to do within the span of a minute or two was tear a hole in the corner of it. Just enough for her to see green smoke roll out, and jump away from.
She watched the green smoke roll out of the hole she had made from a few feet away. She stood there very still, watching with wide eye, knowing whatever the stuff was, she shouldn't be anywhere around it.
She also knew......what the smoke and silence meant for Shadow.

Between the hole in the door and the gas dissipating like it was supposed to, the room began to clear up. As soon as he determined that it had reached non-lethal levels, Joker pressed the first button again, which killed the lights, and opened the door. The door wouldn't open 100% of the way, with the new rend Sun Wolf had just torn into it, but it would be more than enough to allow people to walk in, and further more, allow the now-very-busy-being-dead Shadow Spider to slump out of the door, face-first, if her body posture against the door was anything to go by; once her support was gone, she was going to fall on her smiling face.

(Hello there. mrgreen ) "So this is it."
Tim Drake murmured quietly to himself after he landed in a quick roll on one of the rooftops surrounding the park. He had already been heading in the direction of the site before Joker's voice echoed throughout the park, but he wasn't close enough at the time of the clown's announcement.
Even so, Tim was incredibly suspicious about the entire setup. From what he could tell there were no workers down among the buildings and tents, nor any other person for that matter. It was silent...
Robin kept in a crouch on the edge of his rooftop and scanned the closer buildings that bordered the park, in hopes of finding something more. To his luck, he spotted two figures on a roof a couple buildings away. Tim paused shortly after pulling out a grapnel gun; it was already very peculiar, the situation as a whole. Maybe it was better to wait and see what the two individuals were doing.

Alex took a few steps back as the door opened, and the familiar black costumed figure slumped forward and onto the dirt. Her initial response was to run up to the woman and make sure she was okay. But...she pretty much already knew.
Cautiously, Alex moved towards Roxanne's face-down figure and knelt down beside it. Gently, she took hold of the woman's shoulder and pulled her back to turn her around. As she pulled her onto her back, Alex's eyes widened at the sight of Roxanne's face, and reflexively jumped back and away from her.
Her eyes were wide and blank with death. And her smile was....it was utterly distorted. No one should be able to smile as wide as that without serious muscle contraction. It was just....the entire expression was...
Alex just stared at her, her mouth gaping in shock, unwilling to bend down close to her again.
Meanwhile, Sapphire was still trying to convince Gossamer to come in with them. Even if it was just to teleport the people that were in there out now. Promising that all jump to Gossamer's aid didn't seem to be enough to convince the woman that it was safe to venture inside the park. Whatever this was about, Gossamer was just....utterly unwilling. Unwilling to go in....unwilling to leave.
