Hazel eyes were glued upon Ares as she spoke, small hands curled tightly within her lap, very likely smearing tacky, dried blood against the darkness of her fuku. She didn't care, it didn't matter, not really, not right that second. She wanted to learn, not just about what they all were now, but what they had been, the history of what they had all come to be. She hung on every wise word of the Princess, soaking in the facts and knowledge like a hungry sponge. This is what they had come to be, it was only logical to learn all that she could about it.
Contrary to what she thought, the story did mean something to Navi. She had watched on as one by one her friends had been picked off, killed, and the white soldiers had don't nothing to save them. Worst even, they'd sacrificed them to save their own asses. Perhaps the Senshi of Tumbleweeds had no long standing history, but she could understand.
Hazel eyes snapped to the side towards Veer as his sarcastic retorts brought the princess' attention and temper focusing solely on him, and she frowned. She knew dry wit could be a shield, but now hardly seemed the time.
Mention of the Negaverse had the ginger haired girl sitting forward again, and a relieved smile slide wearily along pale lips at Ares' plan. Good, help was on the way. She'd seen some of the soldiers before everything had gone to hell, and many were injured. And though she didn't ask, Navi would gladly volunteer her skills in first aid should they be needed.
And then she was gone, and Navi was turning automatically to Leto. Requiem perhaps held seniority, but it had been Leto who Nave had fought beside on that battle field, and that had earned the Senshi of Camouflage a great deal of respect. If they were going to be split into two groups, Navi knew whom she would chose to go with, and luckly she got her wish.
Rules, she liked rules. Structure and boundaries, they were a comforting thing, and Navi could feel herself relaxing by inches. She was even smiling faintly as Leto tossed out the mirrors. Catching one and tucking it safely.. Hmm, no pockets. She settled for sliding the thing down within the top of her fuku. It was the safest place for it right now.

One of the mirrors filled suddenly with the towering form of Princess Ares as she slid back into mirrorspace. "The Negaverse survives," she said quickly. "Our allies remain. Good." This was for the benefit of all those gathered. She could see that had begun to separate into groups. For now, she just had a few more things to address.
"I am going to begin shuttling the Negas back to Earth. I might need to call on you," she said, meeting eyes with Leto and Requiem. Then she turned to face the entire group. "One more thing -- a few of you were awakened while in your human bodies. This transformation was witnessed. Your identity is not safe. Through the power of chaotic energy..." The crystal in her torch glowed hotly.
Around the room, the few people whose transformations had been plainly witnessed by those around them would feel their tiaras glow briefly. "You are protected by a glamour now. When you return to your civilian form, you will be entirely unrecognizable. Your friends will not know you. Your family will not know you. You must change your name, change your life. You must do this for your own safety," she explained. "Leto and Requiem did it once. They can help you get what you need to start over." It didn't hurt that, as a civilian, Ares was fairly loaded financially. She could help people get on their feet too.
Losing a former identity was hard. Ares let her eyes linger on the faces of those it would effect. "You cannot give away who you used to be. Tell no one. If a White Mooner found out, they would kill you. They could hurt your family. Your secret would become a weakness."
Like an absentee parent, Ares nodded sharply and then turned back to the mirror. "I apologize for popping in and out. I have an alliance with the Negaverse to go maintain. Leto and Requiem can see to anything that you need. If not... wait for my return." And then, just like that, she was gone once more.

Danae raised an eyebrow as moth girl shot her a look. Lesath would know if she had been checking her out by the number of vintage pictures of people's sneakers she posted on her tumblr afterward. And seeing as how she had no intention of posting any, Lesath did not have to worry about her affections.
"Harry Pot- oh, goddamnit," she attempted to correct as Ares disappeared into a mirror. Danae had been roped into a cosmic conflict she knew nothing about, they had just lost a major battle and had been forced to retreat, and now it turned out their leader hadn't even read Harry Potter? Fancy butterfly wings or not, life as part of the Dark Moon Court was beginning to look seriously lame. Danae's brow furrowed, making a mental note to drop all seven of her Potter books into mirrorspace as soon as she could. All powerful princess or not, Ares was going to have to educate herself on wizards if she wanted to be an effective leader.
"Whatever." Danae lifted herself off her chair with a flourish, seemingly indifferent to who she was assigned to or with. There was only one pressing matter on her mind. "So long as I'm on the team with the best name. How about Team Green Monkeys? Team c**k Your Socks Off? Team Danae and the Delirously Dancing Danaettes?"
She looked at the others, frowning over their lack of suggestions. "No, that's cool guys, just jump on my back. Let me do all the work here. Come on, a little help? What about you? Leather daddy Elvis?" She snapped her fingers and pointed at Orpheus, obviously referring to his swanky bell bottoms. "Ideas? This is important."
Or at least it was until Ares popped in to tell some of them they would never see their loved ones again. Danae just stared as the princess disappeared as soon as she had reappeared. Buzzkill.

Veer toyed with his mirror, twisting it around so that he could get a better look at his new outfit, really look at it. He wasn't sure about the puffy shorts, and wondered if he could do something about those, but the earrings were cool. Seriously cool. And the glove...
He looked up at the mention of apartments, his expression gone blank for a very long moment as he processed, and then he smiled at Leto. Apparently he was back to himself. He hadn't stayed apologetic [or just shocked maybe] for long.
"My rent auto-pays and no one saw me change since I was, you know, dead -- so my place should be cool. Fired, maybe, but maybe not; I worked for friends. It uh..." he waved the mirror, vaguely. "It means I've got room, too, if you can stand the mess."

Raven--no, Lesath listened to all of this talk, taking it in. Mirror walking. Mirror communication? Well. It was a good thing she liked the way she looked and spent a lot of time in front of mirrors prior to this. She took the compact and gave a small smile, looking over it, then holding it loosely in her hand. Teams? She was on a team now? With the fancy lady...Requiem. Oh. And the other...Lesath snorted softly. 'Hot blonde'.
She figured she wouldn't have to worry about any identity changes...since she was dead when she became a senshi too. That was good. She wouldn't have wanted to leave her parents--regardless of the fact she often spoke of leaving them.
The blonde looked to Requiem, then at Danae. Wow, this girl would be one to watch out for, she seemed very loud and opinionated. Huh. Oh well. She would get used to it. She would get used to everything. She stayed silent still, blue eyes watching everyone else, taking it all in.

Ares returned with news of their allies and Navi's shoulders sagged in relief. So what if she didn't know the few soldier's she'd had contact with during the battle, they'd left an impact on her, and she'd been bloody worried! It was good to know they were all alright, if perhaps not all in one piece.
Finally she stepped forward, not away from her group, but closer to the princess, one hand raising as thought she had something she wanted to say. her volunteering to help died on her tongue though as their leader went on to explain the importance of keeping their identities secret. Of course that made since, they needed to keep under the radar, she understood that, but that wouldn't keep the teens jaw from dropping as she was informed that she was, in effect, severing any and all ties with everyone she knew and loved.
It made her retreat a step, eyes going wide as she stared up at the Princess as she carried on in detail before once again disappearing. Breath shallow as she let it all sink in. Her parents, her friends, everyone would think she was dead if they didn't already, and she could give them no comfort. Or hell, seek comfort to herself.
Veer's offer made her turn to look at him, and she very nearly took him up on it. She was, after all homeless now. She remembered though that Leto had only moments before offered up her place for those that needed somewhere to sleep. "Leto, If that offer still stands, I would like to take you up on it." Her voice sounded a little hollow. "Just until I can get on my feet."

Orpheus was silent the entire time as he decided to study his surroundings as they lectured the group. He was always good with lectures and long, talks about things most people didn't find all that interesting. It was important though, even if it seemed boring. It would be the guide to his triumph and the submission of the "white moon" senshi. Oh, he vowed inside to have his revenge for their kidnapping, and sure, he'd show them the way. Or maybe he'd just say they didn't listen and get his revenge anyways.
He didn't really care where he went and so it was no surprise that his group had little impression on the man. None of them really did, but that was to be expected when his immediate thought about the lot of them was not a pleasant one. Ares quickly drew the man's attention though, swaying his thoughts away from what was most certainly one of the most strange lectures he'd had in a long time. Then again, the tingling sensation he felt on his forehead from where the tiara, ugh, sat was not what he'd been expecting and neither was the explanation he was given.
He stared at the compact in his hand as he thought while the tingling sensation slowly left. He couldn't be Cameron Reid anymore? Good riddance, really. The man hated the name his parents had given him. In his life it had given him no good memories and been the cause of more than his fair share of a** whopping. He would pick an awesome name, perhaps after a famous scientist, but with all of that it brought more pressing matters.
Just what happened on Earth? If he couldn't go home and no one knew him, what happened to all his s**t? His robots? He had no place to live now and unconsciously the man looked toward Veer...
"I don't mind a mess, and I have no place to go." He was blunt and forward about it, having no point in hiding it. He'd even shared a room in the Surrounding with Veer before. He really needed a place to stay, even if it meant a mess. Heck, even if it meant his nemeses.

‘Hot blonde?’ Was that really necessary? Remarque knew Requiem knew his name; she’d addressed him in battle on the Surrounding. Whatever, he wasn’t about to complain about an ego boost. He might have complained about Danae and her preposterous name ideas, or he might have complained about the fact that he had been handed a compact mirror and been told he was to keep in contact using one.
Phones weren’t obsolete; everyone had one to keep in contact with instead, surely. He held the mirror up, examining it, trying to figure out some excuse or reason to not consider the thing emasculating, but reasons to defend the item were slow in coming. When none arose, he gave up, just sighed and lowered the compact, still holding it carefully in his hand.
A brief bit of sympathy might have coursed through him for those that had to give up their identity, but instead of feeling bad for them, he felt better for himself. Considering everything, he felt pretty good about this. He survived the trip to space, wound up with powers and purpose, got to keep his name and identity, and had a home to go to—providing his mother was still living there.
Remarque stiffened a bit, made uncomfortable by the idea that she might have moved. The thought was quick in passing; she’d lived in that house since he’d been born, and confessed that she couldn’t bare the thought of leaving. So, as long as she was alive, he had his home.
And, of course she’d be alive; she was a strong woman who had never given up on anything.
There was an extra room in his house, but he wasn’t entirely sure he wanted to offer it--even if explaining things to his mother would have been easy enough. He could charm her with ease; he was her only child so of course she doted on him. But that meant offering up his identity to these strangers and—sure, they were supposed to trust each other, but the fact of the matter was that he didn’t trust them.
…But, Ares had said to look after each other, and Leto was talking about how they were a family. And if these were the people he was supposed to be relying on…
He let out a slightly agitated sigh and reached up to run his fingers through his hair. He spoke in a tone that didn’t imply he was particularly fond of the idea; “I have a guest room. But I don’t live alone, so if anyone ever needs a place to stay, I’ll offer it, as long as you don't act like a moron.”

Leto looked at Navi, her eyes saddened instantly when she realized that she would be one of the ones who would lose everything. She took a few steps towards her and put a hand on her shoulder in an attempt to be comforting.
"You can stay with me as long as you need to. Like Ares said, I've been there. It's not easy, I won't lie to you. As a matter of fact, it's heartbreaking. You will sit next to your friends in class, or walk past your parents in the street, and they will have no idea who you are. I'm sorry..." Her voice trailed off as she looked down to compose herself. Being reminded of the fact that she had no family made her a little bit bitter, admittedly. But that was the price she'd pay for seeing the light in this ******** war.
Her eyes raised to look at Veer and catch his smile. She half-smiled back at him when he mentioned he'd be willing to have others stay with him as well. "Thank you," was all she said to him.
Turning back to the rest of the group, she said "It's not going to be easy, adjusting to this new life- new identity or not. But we have your backs, if that's any comfort."
She glanced back at the mirror that Ares had gone back through.
"If I get asked to go back to space to help shuttle the Negaverse Agents back to earth, anyone that needs to stay at my place can wait for me here and I will take you one at a time through the mirror to my--" she cut herself short, "your new home."

She was still trying to work her mind around the idea of loosing everything and everyone she held dear to her when she felt Leto's hand come to rest on her shoulder. It was sinking in, just very slowly, and it didn't seem as though Navi was handling the news well. She was an only child, doted on and adored by her parents. She had a life, friends, everything she'd ever wanted, and now, just like that, it'd all been ripped away from her. "Thank you," she answered after a few seconds silence, gaze dropping to the reflective floor under foot before narrowing bitterly.
Just one more thing she'd loose as a result of the white moon and their zodiac. First her freedom, then her friends, and now her life. She wasn't dead, but s**t, she might as well be. It was fuel for the slow forming ball of rage that had blossomed within her somewhere on that battlefield, and she swallowed it all down, savored it and let it fester. If a soldier their princess wanted, then a soldier she would be.
She was suffering, and if she had anything to do with it, they would pay for it. She didn't let on, not by action, expression, or word, but she sincerely hoped circumstance would force her hand when next she faced those that had wronged her. She wanted vengeance, selfish but true.
It was at least some comfort to know that she wasn't the only one that would have to give up their precious life, and she lifted her head to regard the veteran senshi with a look of gratitude when her voice trailed off. She wasn't alone, not really, but lord did it still hurt to think about.
"Leto, I Know quite a bit of first aid. I was certified just this year. If there's anything I can do to help.." She trailed off, letting the offer rest there for the taking. She wouldn't insist, but she at least wanted to volunteer.

She smiled at the other girl. While Navi was trying not to let on how hurt she was, Leto could tell. She knew that feeling all too well, unfortunately.
"When Ares returns, I'll ask her how they're fairing. I know you made friends with a few of them since you were working with me directly in the battle, so I know you want to make sure they're okay. That's totally cool, no worries. They do... Er, eat starseeds," she cringed at that thought, knowing she had a starseed in her own chest. "To heal themselves.. If they've got enough out there, they may be okay. If they need it, I promise I will take you with me. Sound good?"
While she may be skilled in fighting and mirrowalking, she sure as hell didn't have the first clue regarding anything to do with first aid so she was glad her new comrade had offered.
"When the Negaverse Agents are safely back on Earth, Ares may have a few more words to share with you all.. Then you can all go home, wherever that may be, and finally get some rest."

Deneb Kaitos was listening intently, but remained silent, for the most part. He was not usually an easily intimidated person, but the things they were talking about warranted as much attention as his tired mind could dedicate to it. Serious things, indeed, and when the mention of identity changes came some might have noticed him looking up from his newly acquired compact mirror (wasn't that a chick thing ? Ugh.) looking vaguely startled.
To go through all that, only to lose your family, your own identity ? It was frightening... And his heart went out to Navi, even if little of it showed.
She didn't look like the sort that might enjoy pity, anyway.
The idea of being kicked out of school was bothersome. "I... went to Azure. If they kicked me out, uh..." Well, he was probably in trouble. "I don't have family in DC either, so I... might need help. Through, my parents might try to get me to go back do BC, so I might be... spotty for a bit."
"I'll let you know ?" Really, if he could figure s**t out on his own, he'd do it. Leto's apartment was probably gonna be an hotspot of activity soon enough anyway.

"We can vote for our team names later," Requiem teased Danae. "Although I am going to have to put in a vote for Team c**k Your Socks Off."
She laughed lightly, ending in a rather unattractive sounding snort and an immediate blush of embarrassment. Apparently she hadn't quite moved on from being her awkward self after all - it had just been quite a while since she socialized with anyone outside of the originating members of the Dark Mirror Court. She had barely begun her new civilian life as Tova Katz. Her eyes then fell to the silent Lesath, her chest, Orpheus's dilemma, and Remarque who offered a solution.
"Well then good, that is settled," Requiem half-mandated. "Orpheus can stay with Remarque, if you feel so inclined. As you may have heard Sailor Leto say, we are a family here. We support each other. If anyone has any issues, we're there to help. Now, are there any other questions or concerns?"

The compact mirror in Requiem and Leto's pockets began to glow brightly. When opened, they would see Ares staring back at them with the vast curtain of space framing her face on either side. "This will take me a long time. I should be able to handle it on my own. I don't see any causalities on their side, but there are so many of them... hard to say." The princess glanced briefly over her shoulder, but it was unclear what she was staring at on the surface of Alkaid.
Turning back, her voice dropped as she rattled off some orders, "In any case, I want you to teach the new recruits the basics. There are shard fragments with mirrorwraiths in the throne room. Take them to their homes to acclimate them with their home mirror." A 'home mirror' was the place that a Dark Mirror Senshi would automatically transport to no matter their mental state. It was typically the place they identified as home. But in order to mirrorwalk through it, they first hand to get there the old-fashioned way: by walking there.
"Whatever they need, give it to them. Make sure they are well. Only let them go see family if you fully believe they are ready for it. We will all assemble again soon... but I must attend to the Negaverse alliance for the rest of the night. Apologies, ladies. I have full trust in the both of you."
With that, the mirror dimmed and became reflective once more.
