She attempted to help him, but with his flailing arms he knocked her clean out, and she dissipated almost instantly, bow and everything.

Well, at least she tried, for the short duration that she was there? Even though she didn't help much at all...

Ebenezer stared at the sign and then the paintbrush in his hand. Obviously the two were connected somehow.

"I agree. We do need to catch up with him. I hope he's okay," said Eben, worried.

Livi then suggested that he use the paintbrush on the sigh. With a shrug, Eben walked carefully to the sign and began cautiously brushing it against the surface. While he did so, he pondered the words showing through and the original message.

That of course means that you should totally choose A

The message on the sign bleed through clear and readable for those that were still waiting at the top.

And for Israfel at the bottom; Now that the boo was gone there was nothing standing in his way to actual freedom.

Managing to get out of the jack forsaken pit, Israfel wasn't looking forward to what else was to come. He looked up to the slides, the mist thick. "HEY! GUYS?"

"And now we have our answer." He looked pretty pleased that his hunch had been correct in his guess. He had been tempted to just go down D but if the answer was A... well then. As he moved towards the correct slide, he could have sworn that he heard Israfel calling from down below. Good to know he made it relatively safely. With a flick of his hair a bit, more an after-thought habit than anything else, he went down the slide. Might as well get it over with right?

At the bottom, he dusted himself off, mainly because he wanted to attempt to keep his outfit clean for a bit. The key word, with such trips like this, was attempt. "Hmmm... well that took longer than expected..." But he was quite amused, regardless.

Livi indeed made it down the slide with no troubles. He was safely at the bottom.

Sepheran was moving behind Livi ready to follow him down the slide when he heard the faint but distinct voice of Israfel. Well at least it seemed he was alright, which was a relief for the Basilisk boil. He wasn't sure if his message would get to Israfel but he did his best to focus on his voice for now, "If you can come back up hurry, we're going down slide A!" he called in return before sitting on the slide.

"Hold on Liannan," he said softly now as he slide down as well hoping the sign had really pointed out the right slide and it wasn't just a prank someone pulled or something. When he finally reached the bottom he blinked. "Oh...that wasn't so bad after all," he stated quite happily relieved the sign held true to it's words.

Sepheran, like Livi, had no troubles at all reaching the bottom. Only one halloweener remained at the top now. By the way the wind was blowing, it was probably wise to get to the bottom as soon as possible.

Ebenezer sighed with relief and quickly put away his wordpad. The wind was picking up. He turned to look at the others in his group, only to find that he was alone on the platform.

With a deep sigh and a rather panicked expression, Eben hurried over to slide A and shot down to the bottom, landing in a heap on the floor. He picked himself up with great dignity and tried not to look too mortified.

The group had made it down to the bottom in one piece. Well mostly, Israfel had taken the damage for the group. But it seemed all was well still.

Not only that but the fog was clearing now to reveal an open door to the next room. Was there a reason it seemed so brightly lit?

Apparently there was. Stepping in the room you and your team mates find a room full of lava. There is another sign at the front. It seems that some of the pieces of sign have been seared off from the over exposure to the heat.

F6 .... D4...B4...A5...

It would seem most of the puzzles hint has been burnt off.

When the last of their group joined them, he studied him for a moment. "You all right there, my good man?" Most said that Livi was quite unlike most demons of his class and those assumptions were correct in most. He knew many of his kind were oftentimes rude to ones who were down. "I'm thankful that slide didn't have any unpleasant.. surprises..." He still had dreams about Christmas town.

As they headed to the next room, he was curious as to the light... and when he saw why it was so well lit, he couldn't help his slight frown. Wonderful... simply... wonderful. Lava? Really? How displeasing. Spotting yet another sign, he looked at what he could read, though it wasn't like the plank of wood could offer much assistance. The soot and sear from the room's main occupant made such things difficult. "The code reminds me of chess, somewhat..." Straightening himself, he looked out towards the lava more. No obvious way in sight... which left very few options as to how to get across. No way was he about to simply walk across anything that would sing his outfit.

But there had to be a way across. Rubbing hsi chin a bit, he appeared to be thinking. Though, for some reason, he really wanted some rocks to kick around. "Least there isn't any strong winds in this room."

Still feeling a little embarrassed, Ebenezer nodded at Livi's question, brushed off his clothing and straightened his bag before looking around the room. He was greeted with the sight of fiery lava and no discernible way across it.

"Great," he muttered to himself, "I always wanted to die a fiery, painful, burning death." He sighed and turned toward the blackened sign.

A good bit had been burned off, but some still remained. He quickly pulled out his notepad and wrote down the what was left. Glancing across the giant room of flaming death, he decided to sketch out a basic map and grid section to see what they were going to have to deal with.

"Hm. This is definitely going to be tricky."

He attempted some positive thinking.

"At least we have some help remaining," he said, pointing to the sign. "Israfel, I know you're a bit banged up, but do you think you could fly over the lava?"

As they entered the room of flaming death, Israfel's blue eyes widened. Lava? Jack this was- "So I guess the teacher are trying to kill us again?" Brushing up against Ebenezer, feathers fanned out for a moment. Livi was right. No strong winds from what he could tell. "Maybe, so long as balls of fire don't come and try to kill me." A weak smile. Fire of FEAR was always a fun. Thank jack he wasn't undead though.

Earwings went to the side of his head as the singed sign was little to no help. "Puzzles. Considering how difficult some other student excursions had been he did what experience had taught him by moving to look at the back of the sign. He signed. "It's worth a shot at least."

There seemed to be nothing extra on this sign. Only scorch marks from the lava.

Flying by ones self over the puzzle seemed like it was a good idea solo, but carrying some one might weigh both Israfel and the passenger down a little to close to the lava where jumping fire might scorch the two.

Carrying anymore then one person at a time could very well be suicide.

Quote:

OOC:
* It seems safe enough for Israfel to fly across by him self if he chooses.
* Flying with a passenger might be a bit too risky, but is do able:
-Roll a six sided dice
-Roll a 5 or 4 and you make it across with out any problems
-Roll a 1 or 6 and smoke from the lava irritates your eyes and throat, but your able to make it across. - 2 hp to both parties.
-Roll a 2 or 3 and you get hit by a stray flying smolder. It burns and you get turned around back to the start. -2 hp to both parties.
* Flying with anymore then one person at a time seems a bit too risky. But its try able:
-Roll a six sided dice
-Roll a 6 and you and everyone manage to get across fine
-Roll 1,2,3,4 or 5 and all of you get -5hp and get turned around

Israfel's feather's puffed out, wondering if he might be able to fly over the area and see a pathway. Still, it wouldn't exactly help his team mates.

He thoughts about the marking on the sign and figured, it was worth a shot. Staring off at F6 he went up to E6, left to E5 then E4. A pause as gathered his courage, continuing on to D4, D3, C3, B3, B4, B5 and then finally A5. Hopefully this was the path to take. If not...he would probably be hurting.
