Jack's whole body was dripping by now, from all his head wet. Relatively soggy, Jack submersed his head again, eyes and mouth closed. He enjoyed the good feeling of the water against his skin, but he started to get some goosebumps, and goosebumps aren't cool. Jack opened his mouth, and water quickly spilled in. As did an apple. Jack sunk teeth into the apple, and he pulled out quickly. His fur sticking straight up on his head, making a small mohawk. Aku started laughing, and Jack scowled, not sure what she was laughing at. He did just get their third apple, after all.

Gurgling leftover water out of his mouth, Damon snapped blindly for apples. He barely skinned the surface of a plump fruit before it bobbed away. Gah! No! Damon chomped after it, barely snapping the stem. He pulled his head out of the water and swung the fruit over the side of the water bucket. The core snapped just afterwards. Phew, that was a close one. Wait a minute... what was that? Damon grinned, he had gotten two apples in one go! Hah! How grand, he thought as he dove fore more fruit.

Jack, with his new orange mohawk, dunked his head under again, barely giving himself enough time to get enough air. This was a mistake, as when he opened his mouth to try and grab for an apple, reflex tried to gulp down air, but got a mouth full of water down the wrong tube instead. Jack pushed himself back up and away from the barrel, and spit out most of the water. He kept from coughing as much as possible, not wanting anyone to think he was lame or something.

Damon rolled his eyes, duh! he could just look for apples and snap at them above water! Idiot! Stupid, stupid... Shaking his head, he nabbed another apple from the barrel. Struggling to dislodge the apple from his fangs, Damon dropped it into the dry wooden box with the other apples he gathered. Shaking his matted fur dry of most the water, the Shinx went for another apple.

As soon as Jack caught his breath, he went under again, quickly opening his mouth as soon as he felt an apple on his face. He grabbed it as quick as he could, and pulled back out of the water, an apple barely in his mouth, hanging limply from the side. Jack's stomach gave a rumble, but he didn't dare eat it. He wanted as many apples as he could get his mouth around! He was very positive that apples in his stomach didn't count.

Damon grinned at his basket after dropping another apple in it. Another apple! What luck! He looked across his own tub to another contestant, a hamster of interesting color... Oh snap! He'd better hurry up if he was to even have a chance at winning this thing...
Actually, bobbing for apples gave him plenty of time to think, between snagging apples, shivering from the cold, and possibly dodging Sharpedos. He hoped Sirius was having just as a humiliating time as he was, prancing around in his rediculous costume. Grr...

Jack was sick of submerging his head fully, so instead he pretty much slammed his head into the water. Kind of like a belly flop, but with his face. And with his mouth open. He felt apples hit him in the face, but he wasn't able to grab one. He nearly got back fast enough before a Sharpedo face lifted out of the water, trying to n** and chomp on his nose. He looked back, and saw Aku was watching someone else, and felt relieved. He'd go back to his old tactic. No more face flops.

Damon blinked harshly, his red eyes puffy and painful. Geez, he shouldn't have tried to open his eyes underwater. And a piece of sand was still trapped under his eyelid, so very irritating. Seeing a red blur at the corner of his vision, he snapped forward at another apple in his water tub. He winced as the sand in his eyes, veering his head to the side and missing the fruit, his cheek skimming the top of the water. Shaking water from his fur, he looked for another apple.

Aku watched as Jack put his head under the water. She wondered if he was happy or not, and looked over at their basket of apples. They had 4, so that was pretty good...right? Jack came back up, no apples in his mouth. He was starting to look discouraged, and a discouraged Jack was not a very productive or happy Jack. She wanted nothing more than to just go and help him, but she wasn't too sure what she could do. Not like she could dunk for apples! Or bob for them...

This time he was ready for the sting of the cold water as he maneuvered his head about, trying to grasp one of the apples in his teeth. This time he gauged his movements more carefully, and he felt his teeth sink into the sweet flesh of the apple. Making sure he had a tight grip on the fruit with his bite, Eon jerked his head out of the barrel, a shiny red apple held carefully in his mouth. Turning his head, he carefully let the fruit drop into the basket beside him, licking his lips. Out of the corner of his eye, Eon spotted another apple floating close to the edge. If he was quick enough he could get it! Without hesitation, he plunged his head in again, tilting his head to grasp the next one in a swift bite. With satisfaction he felt the bite take firm hold on the side of the slippery apple and he pulled the second one out as well. As he let the next apple fall into the basket he smiled. What a stroke of luck! He may have a chance at this competition yet.Apples: 2 Sharpedo: 0

Jack dunked his head under water once more, fished with his mouth, and brought up two apples. He added them to the pile, wanting to keep going since he had a new pace, seemed like he was on a roll. The Sharpedo seemed to be keeping itself busy, or at least wasn't overly interested in Jack. He hoped Aku wouldn't notice the Sharpedo, he didn't want her getting nervous or attack the barrel. Was she here for the rules? Did she know Sharpedo were in the barrels?

Jack grumbled as he felt a Sharpedo swim past his face. He pulled up slow, not wanting to freak Aku out. It would do no one any good for Aku to go into a state of panic. Or worse! He looked over and gave her a reassuring smile. He wanted her to keep calm, so he could win this thing!
