Hanako Kaguya

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Hanako looked to Arina in a moment of contemplative thought at the idea of accompanying her to her own home on their way to Hana's house. It was certainly an intriguing proposition to the white haired beauty, and she chuckled before shrugging her shoulders in a sort of apathetic manner. "I suppose it couldn't hurt. It is only fair that I am subjected to meeting strangers as well.", Hanako said with a playful grin before she waited to follow along with Arina to her home. It was likely to be an interesting bit of insight into the life of her comrade and what sort of parents she had. It was an opportunity to explore the difference in her own family in comparison to the 'normal' families of the Mist Village. Then again, her ally's family may be just as strange as her violent and rowdy family members.

Hanako was relieved on the inside that she did not face rejection in the face of her proposition to visit the Kaguya family home and for Arina to experience a real rough and tough greeting among some of the fiercest and most ruthless of the Hidden Mist shinobi and kunoichi. It was likely to be an eye opener that would let her new friend find some insight of why the White Rose of the Kaguya family was the way she was. Possibly, maybe even explain why she took her training and dedication to becoming the strongest Mist ninja the Village had to boast in it's ranks. It was not just a personal desire, it was what was expected of her. To live up to the hopes and designs that her clan had for her and those like her that possessed the rare Dead Bone Pulse bloodline limit ability was her ultimate duty before her service to the Mist Village. It was a heavy load to shoulder, but maybe Arina would be the perfect team member, along with whoever their third would be, to help ease the burden and make the road she walked a little less rough? Time would likely tell the answer to that question given it's natural course of revealing the hidden as it passed by.

A few hours would have passed since he'd bumped into his teammates last. Kaito had given them the whole "Yeah yeah I'm right behind you, eating and s**t yeah..." slip taking his sweet time with the onigiri. The duo surely was long gone at this point, this brought a smile to the Akimichi mans face. Raising his right hand to his face, he'd stare the rice ball down as though he were undressing it with his eyes. "Pfft bunch of losers wanted me to hurry up my meal, they just don't understand mr riceball..." His true fat kid came out each time he was alone with food. Sometimes he would play with it, sometime he would talk with it like he was now. Everyone had weird tendencies though, right? The akimichi would lay on his back now, riceballs still in hand looking to the sky. It was a beautiful day outside, and after the stuff he'd been through the last few weeks a little break most definitely couldn't hurt.

Today he was surely feeling lazy, he really didn't wanna go far or really move at all for that matter. His hunger at this point had gotten the best of him as he devoured one of his two riceballs. The other he was playing a game of catch with himself in a sense, tossing the onigiri ball into the air and catching it over and over, besides the one time he'd dropped it. Dirt wouldn't bother this slob though, that was for certain. Dusk was coming now though, surely he should get moving before the sun was down. Tossing the rice ball high into the air one last time, he'd maneuver himself over and catch the rice ball in his mouth before not so quickly hopping to his feet. A ferocious roar (burp) would leave his mouth echoing through the air. "H'mm h'mm... Wonder where those lovely ladies ran off too?" Shrugging he'd follow the path he'd came from and made his way back to the village, Arina's satchel in hand.

Kaito felt like he'd been searching for his teammates forever at this point, but realistically he really didn't look very long or hard before giving up and sneaking away to his favorite watering hole. Bumbling and stumbling the man would exit this place after getting kicked out of the bar for arguing with the bartender. "Can't believe that d**k stopped serving me, I only got to drink two bottles of Sake! Trying to say I drank too much, guy should try being an Akimichi and drinking, damn metabolism..." Kaito being a little drunk and angry growled like an animal as he'd venture through the streets of Kirigakure. This adventure would be cut short as the drunk began feeling tired and sleepy. Dropping to the ground he'd decide to lean against a building next to one of the more busy streets of the village where eventually he'd pass out. Anyone whom would stumble across him wasn't in for a very pleasant sight as the man fell asleep on his side, the handbag hanging around his neck like a necklace, and his shirt lifted up nearly to his nipples, all this was accompanied by loud and powerful snoring.

INDENTArina nodded in acknowledgement of the Kaguya girl who stood beside her. “It will be this way,” she announced headed towards her destination. The girl meandered at a comfortable place while her mind still wandered over the events that had taken place that day, as well as not so long ago. She wondered how long they would be without a superior to guide them. How long before they were able to take missions of higher ranking? She also wondered how Aka’Parth was settling into his new role within Aren and most of all, where had Sora disappeared to. While lost in thought, she kept minimal attention to the environment around here. The kunoichi was aware enough only to see that they were quickly approaching their destination when she tripped over something in the road and began to fall face first towards the very uninviting ground below. She winced a little in pain when landing on her hands which put considerable weight on her wrists. “Ow,” she groaned while pulling herself up onto her knees and looking over towards a rather obnoxious noise.

INDENTShe was not prepared for the sight which fell before her very eyes: the man had the stench of drink and was steadily growing another less pleasant stink, his clothes were matted to his body and uncovered in others which left a distaste in Arina’s mouth, and he sounded very similar to a loud, obnoxious train on the tracks every time he opened his own mouth. “Kaito,” Arina mumbled with eyebrows scrunched and eyes which scrutinized the human filth which appeared before her. “MY BAG,” the young girl cried out throwing her hands out to grab the strap and yanked it back towards herself. She made no attempt to be gentle when retrieving her items from the obviously drunk… companion? That was even if you could call him that. He really had not done anything with which to show that he was a part of this team other than some paperwork which instructed that inclusion was mandatory. While the young man was beginning to stir and wake, Arina quickly overlooked the items within her bag to assess how well they had been taken care of in her absence. The first thing she noticed was that one of the plants that had been gathered earlier in the day had a broken leaf which would need to be clipped promptly to be allowed to grow again and upon further inspection, the paperwork and scrolls were all in fairly mediocre shape with frayed edges and drink stain randomly dotted upon them. Everything was salvageable but definitely not in the pristine condition with which Arina treated the items herself. “I let you have some of the food I had made and you could not even be bothered to treat my stuff with respect,” the girl let out a defeated sigh realizing that this entire situation was her own fault for trusting some random person in the first place. She should have known that the teams were based on quality of the composition of the team as a whole and already knowing how responsible she was herself… and quickly learning how serious and dedicated that Hanako was… of course the final portion of their composition would be a lazy and useless addition.

INDENTArina stood taking one look at the person below; she could not help but feel that he was beneath her not only in a physical way but also in a mental one, as well. The girl quickly turned her head away trying to hide the emotions on her face and the rage which quietly boiled beneath her skin and turned her stomach. “This one is mine,” she attempted to put on a more cheerful demeanor while addressing Hanako and walked over towards a nearby doorway which she promptly opened for her companion. Allowing her friend to enter first, Arina shot a death glare towards Kaito before entering the residence herself and closing the door behind them. “Mom… I am home,” she said loudly announcing her presence within the house. “She is not home quite yet,” her stepfather emerged from a nearby doorway smiling cheerily per the usual. “Ahh… I just wanted to let you both know that I was going to stay with Hanako and her family for the night. They finally comprised a squad for me and it took long enough considering how long I have been graduated,” Arina continued chuckling nervously as for awhile she had been worried the reason she did not have a squad is because her skills were not adequate enough to be considered a real shinobi. “Hello, Hanako-chan. My wife should be home soon but you need not wait on her. I am more than happy to let her know you stopped by,” the older and rather average looking gentleman replied while he held out his hand towards Hanako. The man was a rather average build standing at about 5’8 with kind brown eyes, brown hair, and a gentle smile. His most distinctive feature was his facial hair which was a closely shaven beard and goatee which was obviously well kept. With one look, you could tell that this family was pretty average in all aspects of their life with family pictures strewn about and everything being rather well kept in their appropriate places.

INDENT“I am just going to leave this here,” Arina placed the shoulder strap of her bag over the top of a nearby chair. She would need to take care of it promptly when she returned home tomorrow whenever that would be. Her stepfather nodded obviously accepting of her actions. He knew Arina well enough that the bag would not set there for very long. In fact, the house work and cooking were always so well kept in large part to his daughter who was very particular about those kinds of things. “Could you tell mom I said I love her and I will be back soon?” the young girl questioned and the older gentleman quickly reciprocated with an ‘of course’ before she continued on back towards the door to take their exit of the residence. “It was nice to meet you, Hanako-chan,” her stepfather smiled as they exchanged prompt goodbyes and confirmation of meeting again tomorrow before leaving the premises and closed the door behind them. “Your turn to take the lead, neh?” Arina questioned but really, it was more of a confirmation of transference of responsibility more than anything.

Kaito mumbled out some words as Arina had angrily yelled his name before snagging her back from his neck. The words that left his mouth weren't easily understood, it almost were as though Kaito had a large scoop of mashed potatoes shoved deep into his mouth. The drunk shook his head back and forth trying to wake himself up while also trying to make sense of his surrounding right now. Between the grogginess of being woken from a dead sleep and still being a little drunk things just weren't making any real sense just yet. A ferocious sounding yawn escaped the boys mouth as he began rubbing his eyes, all the while Arina was scolding him about her bag or something. Who knew what that was all about that, obviously the bag was in the condition she left it... Right? Maybe he just wasn't remembering things very well yet, either way surely he'd need to make an apology later maybe.

Eventually his err, not so happy teammates would walk off and enter a nearby house. The boy would slowly and maybe not even surely roll over holding his drunken body up with all fours, before eventually surpassing the incredible feat of standing up. At least it felt like an incredible feat for him currently. "Man oh man, I really made one hell of a first impression didn't it?" The akimichi man grumbled as he would stumble before catching his balance as he'd make his way towards Arina's home. "Of course that's where one of em would live, of course. What are the odds? They could have lived anywhere in this village but nope, one of them just HAD to live right there damnit..." Kaito would stop his journey at Arina's front door, weary of whether he should knock or just wait for the two to come outside. He would cross his arms contemplating the outcomes in his head. Maybe if he waited things would cool down a little bit and maybe they wouldn't completely hate him in the morning. Downside to that, chances are they were going to be insides quite a while. On the other hand maybe he could knock and apologize now which would be great and dandy minus the fact if any others were home they'd smell the alcohol on his clothing which wasn't exactly going to be idea to say the least.

A few minutes would pass and quickly Kaito would grow impatient. This left him with the sketchy option of knocking and just hoping for the best. Inhaling before exhaling he'd slowly take baby steps towards the door. A feeling of nervousness would fill his entire body as he'd raise his fist but would wait a moment before knocking. <******** man... I just completed a spying mission in konoha and this has me more on edge than that. Women are scary..." Muttering these words, he decided he's mustered enough courage to finally knock on the door. Just as he would pull back to do so, the door would open right before him as the duo would one by one exit the house. "Oh errr heeeeeey guys!" Kaito had a ridiculous looking half smile on his face, with a ridiculous off sounding tone of voice. "Hey so.... My bad? Heh heh..." Kaito would pause once more before continuing his masterful speech. "Yeah I just got back into town today so I wanted to celebrate, guess I got a little excited ya know? It'd be pretty cool if ya guys like, ya know didn't hate me and stuff. I'll make it up to ya somehow or another..." His rambling was finally finished as he'd await responses from his teammates, goofy looking smile still sat on his face.

INDENTArina recoiled for a moment when she heard the voice of Kaito. She was honestly surprised that the young man had the ability to stand based on the original condition that the two girls had found him lying in. “My bad,” Arina overemphasized the words coming out of her mouth with a resounding amount of irritation and disgust obvious within her tones. She stared at him with a blank expression on her face while trying to analyze his face. Was he serious? Could somebody really be this oblivious and careless while still attempting to be a successful shinobi? Was it really the job of Hanako and herself to carry the weight of this miscreant? Allowing herself a few minutes to cool down before saying anything else that might hinder their ability to work and cooperate as a team, the girl quietly fumed until she was able to logically approach the situation. ‘Celebrate?’ Arina tried to remain open to the idea that perhaps this was not a lifestyle but rather a very inopportune coincidence. ‘I wonder what he has to celebrate though,’ Arina was at least open to the idea that perhaps this was not a lifestyle but rather a very inopportune coincidence. The only way they could ever know was through the passage of time which they would have plenty of considering that the decision had already been made by someone much higher up and with much more power than herself. “Hate is a rather strong word,” the young girl stated flatly while simultaneously rolling her eyes in the opposite direction, even Arina realized that she had not known him nearly long enough to make those kinds of determinations.

INDENT“Aren’t you a little old to still be classified as a Genin?” Arina scrutinized while simultaneously changing the nature of the conversation. While she waited on Hanako to take lead of the situation, the young girl decided that this was the perfect time to attempt to get to know Kaito. You were supposed to be more vulnerable and open while you were drunk… or at least, that was what the young girl had always heard from others around her. She had always been too much on the straight and narrow to try anything like that, nor did she have any interest in such matters while she was attempting to make a name for herself in the medical side of the field, “and what are you celebrating?” There were many questions that were on the tip of her tongue but those two were the only that would escape for the time being. In her most humble opinion, Kaito seemed a little slow and it was safe to say even more so while he was drunk. The last thing that Arina wanted was to overwhelm the idiot to the point where he would not be able to respond whatsoever or maybe, choose not to respond just based on her arrogant demeaning behavior. In her defense, she was still quite upset by the condition of everything which was contained within her trusty shoulder bag which she so ridiculously left within his care.

INDENT“Well,” Arina crossed her arms in front of her body, “I will not be making you anything to eat or letting you eat in the future, except maybe scraps we decide that we do not want.” She was obviously referencing Hanako who still stood nearby, despite her lack of movement or opinion in that very moment which personally seemed odd given her rather brash behavior earlier during their initial meeting before gathering their mission of the day. “You have to earn that kind of special treatment,” the young girl turned her head away from him trying to emphasize her lack of concern for him, as well as his opinion on the matters. She did not slave away in the kitchen for just anyone and teammate be damned if he could not treat her items with respect… It was just as bad as if he were disrespecting her as a person!

Arina was really grilling him on the questions here, out of nowhere she asked him about his age, what he was celebrating for, and mentioned that she would not be making him any food in the near future, unless he earned it of course. Arina was being a little rude, which she had every reason to be. This was nothing though in comparison to what he had been dealing with; That a*****e Sai. The first two things she mentioned, being his age and why he was celebrating was something he could deal with. On the other hand, the thought of food not being provided him made him one sad panda! "Buuuut Arinaaaaaa!" The drunk moaned with a heavy sad tone mixed with it. "That Onigiri stuff was so good though...." His face would have looked as though a close family member had died. Food truly was what he lived for, a true fatty at heart he was.

After he stopped with the bitching and moaning he'd make an attempt at replying to all of his teammates questions while scratching his head thinking of the best way to reply to her inquiries without saying too much. Kaito was sent to the leaf village as a spy for the village, unfortunately he wasn't able to spit that kind of info out. "Errr well..." The boy let out a quick chuckle to buy himself a few seconds, as he froze up a bit at the questions. "I was celebrating my return home, I missed this place.... A little more than I thought I did I guess? Heh Heh..."

His same goofy face reappeared just for a moment. "And hey now watch the old comments! I'm not thaaaat old!" The akimichi growled at the girl playfully. "Yeah I guess I am a pinch old aren't I? I guess I'll give ya the truth..." His hands now would lock together and he'd begin to fiddle with his thumbs. "It's a little embarrassing I guess and it's kind of weird to talk about so..." Kaito would pause momentarily before speaking up once again. "Long story short after I finished the academy my family went broke, so I had to help around the house while they sold food from a cart. We were pretty poor and tough had got pretty rough for a little while... Guess I just never found time to do ninja stuff til now ya know?" His story was a bold faced lie but surely the sob story would get her off his back on the subject.

The real story was a little more complicated and maybe one day he'd actually be able to tell the two his real story, but for now he would keep those stories locked up and to himself. "My life most definitely isn't anything fun or exciting, I'm just a boring plain jane fellow ya know? Lets turn the tables here a little bit, who are you guys? I'm sure you guys are waaaaay more exciting than I am!"

Hanako Kaguya

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Hanako did not seem to mind Arina's home and, as a matter of fact, had quite enjoyed herself as she kept quiet and simply bowed respectfully, making sure to have assured her step-parent of his daughter's safety among the Kaguya family that evening. There was never any real doubt about that, that she gathered, but the gesture was still nice on her end. The exchange was brief, but at least she had a better idea of how Arina had lived until now, and that at least she had two parents who seemed to love and support her. It was a different relationship than the one the white haired bone manipulator shared with her own parents. They seemed to demand more of Hanako and were more like teachers and masters of the killing arts, having instructed her from the day she was old enough to stand and practice stances. There was also a note of a lack of visible siblings on her medical team-mate's part. Either they were all grown up, and long gone, or she was an only child. This was a fact she did not press on as it might be seen as rude or hit a sensitive spot. There was no real issue there for her, at least from what Hanako could tell on the surface. It must be why Arina was so different than herself. The elements of her environment while growing up were vastly different in comparison to Hanako's situation, but that was okay. The diversity was going to make their unit a stronger one on the front lines if Mist ever required their unit to act in a combat situation. Different emotional view points and ways of looking at things were a valuable asset in that regard.

Then on their way to the Kaguya compound. Hanako and Arina had run into Kaito, their drunken, glutton of a team member. The only thing Hanako did was stand in the background and massage her forehead in anxiety at the situation as under normal circumstances she might have snapped and went off on Kaito, but this was not the academy and the days were she would have normally attempted to kick a slacker's a** just to make herself superior were gone. This was a time were a bit of self-restraint had to come in to play or else she would never become one of the strongest ninja in the village. Being strong did not just come from personal strength alone, it also came from the ability to work with one's squad despite the disparaging differences in values. One seemed to be a normal level head, another had anger management issues with a side of blood lust, and there was the resident hedonist. It seemed like the perfect cocktail for a deadly combination of personalities, and one that Hanako would simply need to learn to work around and adapt to the various nuances they presented if this was going to work out for her, and the others, but mostly for her own sake.

Finally with Arina seeming to have a grip on the situation she looked over to Kaito and listened to his story about how and why he became a ninja. It seemed that this story also had a food element to it as well which sort of revealed a little bit more about why he seemed to love it so much. Life had been rough for him and with hard work. Selling food and making it appetizing was not exactly an easy market as it was a common market with a lot of competition. He would be better off as a shinobi, the pay is better and the discipline would likely make him stronger even still. Hanako had resolved herself to keep an eye on him, as Kaito would likely be competition for being one of the strongest in the Mist village. It was not a title she wished to share lightly, and she had to make sure that her form was flawless and her training did not slack if she were to keep her superiority.

"Once you two are finished chatting, we can all proceed to the Kaguya family compound and you can enjoy some food cooked by my mother. She always makes a lot, so there will be plenty, even with Kaito with us. I'd like to see him try to out eat my father. He can really pack it away.", Hanako said with a challenging smirk to her hedonistic comrade. If calories were what he was looking for, he'd find plenty for sure, and Arina might learn a thing or two about hearty, rustic, cooking. It was not to be fine dining, but it certainly would be filling and appropriate for the training to come. It was part of the reason Hanako had plotted this sleep-over from the start. She would introduce her fellow team-mates to the Kaguya way of training, and if they could hack it, they would likely find themselves a little harder and with more wherewithal for the experience. They were going to need that discipline if they all intended to get through the Chuunin Exams for sure.

Upon finishing with Arina, Hanako finally spoke up. She seemed much more understanding of the situation and thus didn't really even comment on that subject much at all. This was a relief to say the least since he would only have one of his two compadre's harping on his awful lifestyle choices for now at least. What really sparked his interest was her talk of large sums of food and having an eating contest of sorts with her father. This was perfect, it was a win win situation for the boy. If he won, he was the champion eater of the Kaguya compound, if he lost, he at least had an excuse for terrorizing the dinner table. Kaito had no intentions of losing this eat off, although being extremely thin for an Akimichi he could throw down inhuman amounts of food. "Yeah I like that plan! I'm all sorts of ready for all those things you just said! I betcha your mom makes some good grub eh?!" Kaito's smile reached from ear to ear now, he hadn't been this excited in a while and this man was ready to get his eat on. "Yeah yeah Hanako, lead the way! I'm ready when you are!" This sounded fun and exciting to say the least, twas always fun to see the homes of friends for the first time. It really gave you a deeper look into their lives and really told you who they were and what they were about. At this point he'd allow Hanako to take the lead and would surely follow her anywhere she would take him with no questions asked. Food was obviously on his mind.

INDENTArina chuckled covering her face to hide her amusement at Kaito and his reaction to what she had said previously. Of all the things that she had to say, the idea that she would not prepare him food while she continued to cook for herself and Hanako was what had upset him the most. The young man almost looked sincerely upset at the notion which was not only incredulous but also somewhat entertaining to the young woman. It almost made the girl have a change of heart; however she would still make him wait at least a week just to toy with his feelings and punish him for his ineptitude, even if he was mildly debilitated with drink. “Do not call me Arina like we are so familiar,” the young girl chuckled again smiling a little bit more freely and waving him off along with his compliments on her onigiri earlier but really, she loved the attention that she was receiving and loved when people enjoyed her cooking. The young girl always assumed that was something every cook probably felt. There was nothing more enjoyable than someone who loved to partake in your creation and your hard work and the sweat and the tears that you poured into every meal to make sure that it was nothing less than perfection.

INDENTThe conversation suddenly went dark with the talk about Kaito and his apparent age in comparison to the other genin that she had met along her travels throughout the shinobi world. ‘He kind of reminds me of someone,’ Arina intently focused her gaze on him as he had described a somewhat dramatic sounding but upsetting tale of his background. The young girl certainly knew what it was like to go through hard times. When they had first migrated to Water Country as refugees from the war in the Land of Iron, the young girl recalled the many kind souls that would bring them food and other household necessities to tide over the family while her mother worked so hard to earn their place within this village. “Whatever,” the young girl mumbled turning her head to look away from Kaito obviously feeling somewhat bad about bringing up what must have been such painful memories or maybe this was what they called transference? For some reason, the young girl had begun to think about those years so long ago or at least, they felt like generations ago while not being that far behind her in actual time passed.

INDENT“I…,” Arina began to say before Hanako finally seemed to come forward and say her piece after spending such a large amount of time immobile and quiet… probably listening and waiting. Her eyes began to widen as she realized that the Kaguya intended to allow Kaito to accompany them to her house… and the sleep over? Was he spending the night?! While she was aware that the compound was large enough to house several rooms, the young girl just could not fathom why they would invite the lazy drunkard who did not even show up for the missions! “No, no, no, no,” Arina stated repeatedly drawing her hands across her body in the fashion of an ‘x’ in a high pitched and obviously panicking voice. “I am not for sure that… I mean… This does not seem like a good idea,” the girl rambled avoiding any and all eye contact that might be directed towards herself. I mean it might not be that bad considering the singular motivation for Kaito appeared to be the offering of food but still, this did not seem to sit right with the girl. She had already agreed to the offering however, so how could she turn back now after already giving her word. Not to mention, Arina had already talked to her stepfather about how she would not be back until the morning. It appeared that faking it was going to be the only viable option for the moment. She attempted to make her peace with the situation and while it seemed impossible, she was used to just having to grin and bear it. In face of the situation, she let out an exasperated sigh before breathing in again more deeply trying to let the bad feelings escape and breath in fresh air to rejuvenate her current outlook. “Great… A drunkard ‘and’ a glutton,” the girl mumbled quietly trying to mask a smile but anyone who looked would easily be able to see past the façade and notice how forced the action itself was. It would appear that calm meditation and deep breathing were not going to remedy the churning pit in her stomach.

Hanako Kaguya

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. The travel to the Kaguya family compound was not too far out on outer edge of the Village's protections. It was a gated complex of three buildings, and Hanako's family lived in the larger of the three. Just inside the gate were various rose bushes that had been sculpted and pruned through the years, like bonsai trees to resemble different shapes. An eye of red roses could be seen, along with a blood red blade, and then there was the white rose bush, which was Hanako's that had been passed down from grandmother, to mother, and then finally to Hanako, who had already informed Arina she had planned to turn it over to her younger sister in time to manage and then pass down to her future niece as Hanako had no plans to have children of her own. The white rose bush was sculpted and pruned in a circular wreath. The others seemed so ornate in comparison. Each was supported by a wicker trellis which overlay the path to the main building, which seemed to have some rowdy company by the boisterous laughing and guffawing which could be heard even from were they were. "Well, we're here. My cousins roses look cool as usual, but let not the circle mine is shaped in fool you. Were it lacks in ornate decor, it has symbolism. It means that everything will come full circle to shape your destiny. It also has no end, a symbol of destiny being eternal.", she explained as she guided them to the front door, pausing before she opened it. "Prepare yourselves. This will likely be a culture shock, at least to Arina-chan. He he he.", she chuckled with a bit of a mischievous grin on her lips. It had appeared that her introspective personality had taken a back seat to her usual 'rough around the edges' attitude. It was due to the fact that the White Rose was in the garden she felt most comfortable in, surrounded by others she had shared so much with since her growing up. It was going to be interesting to see the reactions from her team members to the extended family, which was likely a bit bigger than a mother and a father.

Upon opening the door, Hanako kicked off her sandals and walked in barefoot. It was the tradition in these style of paper wall type pagoda. It was to not rough up the tatami bamboo flooring which was the motif for the house. "Ohaiyo! I brought my squad home.", she called down the hall way which seemed to branch off two ways, one to a lit room, from which the source of the noise was coming from. The other part of the hall lead down a little bit and to a corner which would bring a person to some stairs upward. "EY! Is that Hanako-chan? I wondered were she had been all day. I hadn't had the chance to beat up on anybody all day!", a child's voice called out before out of the apparent family dining area came what looked like Hanako's 'mini me'. With shorter, white hair and bright red eyes with the two red dots of the clan on her forehead was Hanako's little sister, Saki Kaguya. The smaller version of Hanako shouted out in a cute cry, 'Hiyaaa!' as she rushed at her bigger sister in a flying kick only to find herself slamming against her elder sibling who had sprouted an armor of white bones that were small and intersecting in the shape of flower petals, but worked like chain mail. There were also two bones protruding from her skull like those of an oni. She did not even flinch, though the kick would have probably jarred a normal person. "Weak as ever, little sis. Keep trying.", Hanako chuckled as she let her bones retract, and she picked the little girl up off the ground and ruffled her hair. "Ain't no fair when you go about using the weird bones. One day I'm gonna do it too.", the little girl said before sticking her tongue out at her elder and then she looked up to the other two, before turning around and calling to the rest of the family, who seemed to have poked their heads out of the door frame; Two elders who appeared to be grandparents, and a mother and father. "Lookie! Hanako-chan brought home punching bags for dinner!", the little girl shouted happily, but it was easy to tell it was likely a joke.

Hanako looked over to her team mates and grinned wide to them, mouthing the words 'Culture Shock' to them before looking back to her family and bowing politely to her elders. It seemed that the two older folks both had white hair, while Hanako's mother had black hair, and her father and sister also had white hair. Her mother had never awakened the Kekkai Genkai, but that did not make her any less of a fierce kunoichi. She could wield a frying-pan with lethal force enough to smash people through walls if they got on her nerves. "This is Arina and Kaito. They will be joining us for the night.", she said as she looked back up and gestured to the various people. "The old bag of bones is my Grandfather, Gigi Kaguya.", she said in introduction to which the old man griped in retort, "And I'll still whoop yer arse, whipper snapper. Pleasure to meetchyer friends." Hanako seemed to ignore his persnickety retort before motioning to her grandmother. "Tani Kaguya, my graceful grandmother.", she said with obvious affection for her elder who had been the start of the white rose bush. The elderly woman waved to the two, and then the father rushed up and would attempt to ruffle Kaito's hair before a rogue frying-pan klanged him on the back of the head. "My mother, lethal mistress of the Frying-Pan no Jutsu, Kaiyo Kaguya...and my over enthusiastic father, Yama Kaguya. You've also met my sister, Saki.", she said as she motioned to the three who all waved in response, though her father was face down on the ground in a comical display with a not on the back of his head and the cooking utensil beside him. His bones had to be tough as that was a full cast iron pan, the family obviously knew this, which is why the word 'thick headed' was not an insult around this family. "Once we've concluded introductions, I assume dinner is ready and we can all eat and rest? It has been a hard day of work and training.", she explained before she motioned to her two squad mates to come forward and elaborate on their own introduction.

Upon his whining about Arina not cooking for him anymore, Kaito had gotten a little better reaction from the girl whom made an attempt to cover her face. Laughs were easy to read whether it was a small or big one, it was an obvious give and whether people were laughing with him, or laughing at him one thing he was actually good for was getting a decent smile. Either way the big dummy would count it, he gave kudos to himself. She'd snap back again with the 'Do not call me blah blah' junk again before letting out another chuckle. Within like a two minute period she was mad at him and then chuckling at who knew what... Women were all crazy. Unfortunately or maybe fortunately he was stuck with two of them for a long, long time so he'd have to make the best of it. Kaito wasn't about to give her a free pass on this though. Chuckling before he'd open his loud mouth, he'd begin to speak out. "Yeah yeah you can try and play miss sassy bottoms but you can't hide that chuckling so how about you drop the angry act eh?" Kaito laughed a little as he would continue down the street.

Things got real awkward for a moment upon finishing his story. She might have gotten a little emotion from Arina who mumbled some words before turning away from him. On the other hand Hanako hadn't much to say on the topic either and she just began to walk towards her home. "s**t, did they not believe me? I'm such a shitty liar... I best just stick with my story for now I guess right? Heh heh..." These words ran through his head as his body had tensed up a little at all the awkwardness that filled the air. He would decide to say no more on this topic as he would turn and follow Hanako towards their destination as Arina began making complaints. Honestly, he almost had to agree with her. In a sense they really hadn't any idea who he really was, and on their first day of meeting he'd been found passed out drunk napping on the ground. Wasn't exactly what you'd call a knight in shining armor that was for certain. Kaito certainly wasn't about to throw himself under the cart though, he needed to really befriend these two strangers he traveled alongside and this was his most opportune moment thus far. "Oh c'monnnn. You guys don't even realllllyyyy know me yet! Give me a chance at least I'll grow on ya!" He'd finish with a warming smile towards Arina. That was where most of his attention was aimed as she were the one complaining. Hanako on the other hand didn't seem to mind as much, and really he knew why. Kaito had stumbled across some Kaguya before, he wasn't about to misbehave in their home that was one thing he was certain about.

Upon arrival Hanako would start the tour with the outer part of the compound, a rose garden of sorts if you will. They were finely sculpted and taken care of frequently which was painfully obvious. Kaito thought back to the last time he'd bumped into some Kaguya members, they had some sort of affinity to flowers or maybe plants in general. Something alone those lines he knew, just couldn't quite remember. Honestly flowers and junk like that were pretty meh feeling to him but he would examine the roses intently like he were entertained. "Nah their flowers are alright but yours is most definitely the best looking and coolest!" The drunkard exclaimed as they'd make their way inside. Hanako would kick her sandals off and Kaito would follow suit assuming that was the right way to go about things. Everything after that would happen so quickly. From the lit room what looked like a tiny Hanako came charging towards the group, more specifically at her big sister. She'd jump through the air tossing a basic kick at her sister. From Hanako bones began to erupt from her body in the shape of a flower of sorts. "OH! Oh..." The boy was surprised for a second, it was as though he had almost forgotten she was apart of the clan as well. The little sister darted back into the kitchen shortly after making a joke about them being punching bags. "Errr all that was cute, in like a semi abusive kind of way..." Kaito let out a laugh under his breath before the rest of the family would pop up one by one.

The Kaguya girl mouthed words to the group which Kaito didn't really do a very good job of reading as his eyes peered into the doorway Saki had just ran through. "s**t, what did she just say?" He whispered into Arina's ears. The boy scratched his head and nodded as though he were agreeing with the words he hadn't really made out, but soon would turn his attention towards the rest of the family. His teammate would bow at the sight of the older couple and Kaito would do the same out of respect. He wasn't about to get kicked in the head for not bowing, that was for sure.

They would soon be introduced to the large Kaguya family, Hanako would do all the talking for the most part trading names back and fourth between the two groups. Kaito raised his hand waving to the group. "Hey how's it goin', nice to meetcha all!" The man whom was seemed to be the father jogged up towards the group with a mischievous look on his face. The man would extend his arms as far as they would go reaching for his hair. Kaito's eyes widened as the mother began load up her frying pan, which came rocketing through the air and quickly crashed in the back of Yama's head. The man plummeted to the floor quicker than any other he'd ever saw before. Kaito couldn't help but to let out a small laugh as a smile grew on his face. These were his type of people! Surely he would fit right in. Minus the bone thing, his bones looked MUCH better inside of his body. "Yes yes... Something does smell delicious..." His fat senses were tingling, it was almost as though he had a sixth sense for food, like it called out to him wherever he stood. Surely this night might turn into quite the rowdy one, but he was prepared for the ride.

INDENTArina punched Kaito in the side of his arm only slightly rough while walking quietly behind Hanako who was currently leading them towards her familial residence. ‘Grow on me,’ the young girl wondered how accurate that statement would come to be throughout the passage of time. For now, the thought was amusing because that was not a future that she could ever foresee of her own choosing. The entirety of the walk was otherwise uneventful and filled with a lot of comfortable silence. They were not walking for long before they finally came upon the compound. This was going to be rather interesting for Arina as she had never encountered anyone from the Kaguya bloodline and certainly, she had never had a reason to visit the compound where they resided. This reminded the girl that she had heard that the Orasakai had their own rather renowned personal complex and quarters somewhere nearby which would be in her interest to visit at some point to really learn and understand the bloodline that she had inherited from her father. She allowed her mind to wander while she observed the architecture and the large amounts of rose bushes. The white-haired Kaguya had touched on this briefly when they had first sat down to begin speaking to one another back where they had initially met while training.

INDENTArina knew that both of her teammates were chit-chatting back and forth; however she paid little attention rather just admiring the enormity of it all. It really made the young girl wonder how extended the Kaguya family must have been, especially considering that their surname had extended beyond the Water Country. It was not until Hanako called her by name that she retracted her attention back to what was happening before her right in this very moment. She glanced toward Hanako with a sideways glance, “culture shock?” Was the Kaguya mocking her? The girl glanced towards Kaito who was removing his footwear before following Hanako through the doorway inside seemingly unaffected by anything that the Kaguya had said. ‘I guess he would not be considering it seemed directed towards me,' Arina tried not to over think what had been said and followed Hanako’s lead removing her shoes. When the younger girl rushed in for the attack, Arina took half of a step back caught somewhat off guard. Their relationship was just as Hanako had described and you could easily tell when Hanako defended herself using the full force of her kekkei genkai, despite knowing that her sister did not have that advantage. You could easily see that they cared about each other in their own way which Kaito very bluntly commented on as the young girl ran off making what Arina hoped was a joke. She had no intention of being the punching bag for anyone. The girl had been gone on mission and finally was trying to relax in the best way that she saw fit which at this moment was a nice meal and an opportunity to bond with her rather odd teammates.

INDENT“Culture shock?” Arina whispered back to Kaito; though she was not entirely sure that was what had been mouthed from Hanako before quickly turning the conversation to introductions to her family who had produced themselves from a separate nearby room. They seemed like a rather lively bunch of people each with their own individual personalities which seemed to complement one another. The grandfather much like one would imagine playing the part of being bitter and still holding onto his youth while displaying an affectionate openness, the grandmother quiet and mindful displaying grace and kindness in gesture along, the father whom would cause Arina to take another series of steps back holding her arms up halfheartedly in an attempt to put some distance between them which was certainly unneeded because soon after… he would be on the floor courtesy of his wife and Hanako’s mother. The girl looked on with eyes wide feeling somewhat uneasy about this entire situation. She could certainly tell that Hanako must have gotten a lot of her personality from her mother, the wielder of kitchenware but not in a cute homemaker type of way. ‘Well,’ the girl thought that last statement might have been somewhat unfair of her to be thinking, ‘she did actually make dinner, so there was at least halfway a homemaking use of the skillet…’

INDENTKaito would very informally introduce himself. To be honest, it probably was the proper way to do things around here from what the girl could tell from the current atmosphere of things; however, it was not in her nature. The girl continued the ebb and flow of the introductions realizing that she was the last to be presented. “It is a pleasure to meet you,” Arina bowed deeply with respect before continuing, “Thank you kindly for having us so unexpectedly.” Kaito had been right about the smell of the food which probably enveloped the entirety of this quarter of the complex. The aroma was overpowering but absolutely delicious smelling. She began to feel the pang of hunger hitting right in her abdomen, even though it had not been that long since their last meal. The young girl shook her head almost embarrassed that someone so tiny could be gripped so strongly with a need for unnecessary amounts of food. “Will he be okay?” Arina questioned having removed herself from her bow and motioning towards the man who still lay motionless on the floor from a rather dangerous looking injury. While the young girl logically knew that those with the Kaguya kekkei genkai were different from those of normal body makeup, it was difficult to comprehend when seeing it firsthand. She stepped forward and crouched down by his body to inspect his chest for movement which would indicate that he was at least still breathing. The girl confirmed that indeed the man was still breathing but was still hesitant to move until ushered to do so by someone who was more affiliated with seeing this kind of violence.

Hanako Kaguya

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Hanako chuckled at the reactions from her team mates and she guided them into the dining room were a small feast of sushi, steamed white rice-balls, takoyaki, and various fish based dishes were presented. Fish was the main source of meat in the Mist Village due to how close to water the Village was and it's main trade among the commoners being fishermen. It was easy to get a hold of and prepare in large quantities for a family that consumed a lot of calories, yet burned them effectively with their harsh and brutal training regiments. "Seafood is a common staple around here, so I hope that is to your liking.", the White Rose informed Arina and Kaito as she motioned for them to sit, placing Arina between her mother and her younger sister. Kaito's seat was next to her father and her grandfather respectively, not because it was a male seating on one side of the table which was low to the ground in traditional fashion with the 'chairs' being cushions one knelt on while dining, but more because of the fact that the two elder men had a bottle of sake' and were pouring the older male of Hanako's squad a saucer of the fermented rice wine. "Hope you ain't afraid to toss a few back, ya whipper snapper! Heh heh heh.", the older man said as his wrinkles seemed to fold back eerily with his wide, and youthful smile. Old age never seemed to get Gigi down, as he had the same spunk and grit he held in his younger years.

The Kaguya family were very in tune with the oriental way of things around the house, even though some western influences had come over from the various trade ships that arrived from the Land of Waves and beyond. Hanako sat in traditional fashion between her younger sister and her grandmother. It was obvious as well, that despite their bone manipulating team mate's rough disposition, she had the affectionate side to her when it came to her family, giving her graceful, yet time withered grandmother a tight hug and then playfully ruffling Saki's hair. After everyone had gotten settled, Hanako's father clapped his hands together and bowed his head, before saying, "Itadakimasu, Itsumo no yō ni watashi no utsukushī tsuma." Translated roughly into 'Thank you for the meal, as always my beautiful wife.'. Gigi looked over to Kaito and made a gagging sound, before muttering, "I should whoop his a** for almost spoiling my appetite with all that sweet talk at the table." Though his demeanor suddenly stiffened as his wife smiled gently at him with an evil look in her aged eyes. "And I should hang you upside down from the ceiling and let Saki practice her taijutsu on you for not saying such sweet things to me in public." It was clear that this was their sense of humor as the elderly woman looked over to Arina and chuckled, "Gigi was such a romantic in his youth. He used to say the sweetest things when we were dating. Eheheh." Hanako was rubbing her head in slight irritation as she hated romance and the talk of love. It was her least favorite subject to discuss, so it was no surprise to the rest of the family as she simply remained silent and ate slowly.

Hanako's mother then looked over to Kaito after having let the others say their parts, and then to Arina. "Seems to be a couple of solid bodies to handle my daughter being on their team. Guess you two haven't been scared off by our little white rose yet, hmmm~?", she asked with a toothy smile. Hanako shot a glare at her mother, it was clear she was only saying those things to get under her skin. "If they were so scared of me, they wouldn't have come here to meet you, witch of the kitch-...", Hanako had not gotten to finish before she was thwapped summarily by a rogue ladle. "Whoops, sorry, dear. You must learn to speak more clearly or occupy your mouth with eating when at the table.", Her mother said, obviously the one who had tossed the utensil with deadly accuracy, causing the other various members to laugh. They were not being mean spirited as it was evident by Hanako eventually joining in with the laughter, but it was merely a playful ribbing to show their joy at their family member having blossomed into a fully fledged member of the Mist Village, apart of a team and everything. It was a joyous occasion, and one to be celebrated indeed, not just for Hanako, but for Kaito and Arina as well. They were all three growing in strength and skill, and with this new union of the skills and powers they all had, it would be the start of a wonderful friendship and bond.

INDENTArina nodded her head approvingly at the mention of seafood. She followed the flow of traffic seating herself between Saki and the ever intimidating wielder of frying pans. No one had responded to her earlier but seeing as Hanako’s father had gotten up unaffected and now was lovingly making a public display of affection for his wife, the young girl assumed it was safe to say that there was no harm done. She supposed it was the medic-nin in her that had the urgent response to attend to the man and his well being. The girl looked thoughtfully across the table where Kaito appeared to be making himself comfortable and getting ready to enjoy a few drinks with the family. She rolled her eyes remembering what he looked like sitting in the alleyway not very long ago being half dressed with bodily rolls and skin comfortably out where they were visible to all passersby and the stench… She only hoped that the smell had managed to somewhat waft away during the travel here with the slight winds in the air.

INDENTUpon the husband making his affectionate display, Arina would follow by example making a slight bow to the woman beside her with her hands lightly resting against one another. “Yes,” the young girl smiled awkwardly while the family continued to throw verbal insults around the room. “Thank you very much for the meal,” she continued before turning her attention to the older woman who was now addressing her. She was commenting about her significant other and how he used to make similar declarations, despite his earlier jab towards the husband. She chuckled at the dynamic of the family while also acknowledging the grandmother who had spoken to her, “My stepfather is very loving and affectionate with my mother. He has a tendency to make sure that she realizes how much he cares about and loves her, otherwise she might have to let him go.” Everything that she said was in an obviously fun and joking manner, however there was some truth to her mother when she spoke. She dealt with none of the attitude or exaggerated wants. Thinking about her own family made Arina’s smile even more deep and sincere looking from the outside perspective.

INDENT“Not at all, she keeps me on my toes…” Arina began to respond to the mother and her compliment which had caught the girl off guard. They had barely met the two genin but she seemed genuinely pleased with Hanako and her teammates. She supposed that was a comfort because even Arina was not for sure how she felt about her own skills where being a village shinobi was concerned. Suddenly her smile was replaced with a small amount of horror when Hanako was targeted with the ladle; Arina was shocked because the movement had been so quick that the young shinobi had not been able to witness the attack coming. Despite everything, the woman boldly taunted her own daughter after making the surprise attack and everyone in the room began to roar with laughter… even Hanako herself. The young girl did not quite understand their family dynamic; that was fine though, wasn’t it? Not every family was the same and they obviously deeply cared about one another despite their rough demeanor.

INDENT‘What is that?’ Arina started digging through her pockets trying to find the uncomfortable offender. It only took her a few minutes before pulling the bandage from her pocket which was contorted in an uncomfortable manner. ‘Oh,’ the young girl smirked holding it up to inspect the quality of the bandage to make sure it had not been compromised. “You might be able to use this,” she stretched out her arm towards her comrade who had just been nailed by the ladle. The bandage was easily useable and Hanako would not need assistance to apply the bandage to the afflicted area, otherwise Arina would have stood and brought the item over more personally. Having helped as much as she could in the given situation, the young woman picked up a nearby cup bringing the liquid to her mouth. It had been quite awhile since they had last eaten by this point because the sky had grown dark and nearly silent with the exception of a few rogue insects and animals which were nocturnal in nature. The tea within really hit the spot and Arina began to set the cup down when it slipped from her own hands. “Oh no,” she shouted as the cup flew across the table towards Kaito who sat opposite from her. The girl was almost able to get a handle on the cup but instead her fingers accidentally ensured that the warm tea would spill from the cup over the unsuspecting Kaito across from her. She abruptly stood from her seated position grabbing every piece of napkin ware within her immediate area before rushing over to the other side. Despite how she might have acted earlier, Kaito did not deserve to have tea thrown all over him regardless of slightly mishandling her knapsack. She quickly kneeled down throwing a few of the napkins in his lap while trying to mop up the mess on the floor and table within the surrounding area.

INDENT“I am so sorry,” Arina repeated several times while attending to the mess she had created. The tone in her voice making it obvious that while it was mostly directed towards Kaito that it was also slightly intended to Hanako and her family for the unintended crisis. Her face was red with deep embarrassment. This was not the initial meeting of the Kaguya family that had been intended. “I can run home and get some burn ointment if you need. Are you okay?” the girl turned her attention to Kaito and his skin to make sure there was not irritation or anything that might possibly need medical treatment.

"Whoo hoo hooo hoooooo!" The drunkard yelled in excitement, these were the types of moments he lived for! Fun times with friends, huge dinners, and most important of the bunch; Sake! Gigi poured him a glass of the sake and made a comment about him 'throwing a few back'. This made Kaito chuckle a little "This old fellow hasn't any idea who he was talking to obviously!" Kaito turned to Gigi with his glass in hand, chugging the whole glass in record timing. It looked as though as soon as he picked up the glass to drink it, he were putting it right back down again. "Gigi right?" The genin asked, chuckling again. "Throw a couple back? That bottle in your hands is what I'd warm up with, I might get a little tipsy at best with that fun size bottle you got there!" Kaito chuckled with the old man, surely he would have some sort of rebuttal to those comments. Shortly after Hanako's father would begin with a prayer of some sort. He'd heard about some families who would pray in thanks before meals though he'd never been a part of such a practice. This was strange-ish to him, it didn't make him uncomfortable by any means but it was a strange thought how each and every family did things differently.

Dinner was in full swing now. Everyone was eating and joking, while Kaito was terrorizing the fish and miscellaneous flavors of sushi. His stomach was bottomless and he was quickly showing the others around the table that as well. "Okay better calm my s**t down, I don't wanna look like TOO much of a hog in my first impression..." The Akimichi clan member leaned back for a second to stretch himself out as a quick yawn escaped from his mouth. Between just waking up roughly a hour ago and the food he'd piled down just moments before, sleep was really starting to catch up with him... That was of course, until Arina decided to make it rain all over him! The drunkard had his attention turned towards the fellas he sat next to, gossiping and bullshitting with the both of them about whatever came to mind. "Oh whatever! I could most definitely beat you arm wrestling!" The genin joked with Hanako's father, as burning hot liquid dumped off the table into his lap. "Whaaaaghuhhhh!" A giant pile of word vomit came pouring out of his mouth as the burning hot tea covered his stomach and legs. The Akimichi would fall backwards letting out another yelp as Arina charged over to him apologizing almost instantly. As much as the tea burns had hurt, he found a way to muster a little smirk. He wouldn't show his pain to the others around him, or at least not anymore. "Heh heh... I guess that makes us even now right?" His legs hurt, and his balls were on fire, but he would be fine.
