The Magic Busters
Colette showed up with a simple backpack containing some practical necessities. One of which was an extra pair of clothes she really hoped the gnomes hadn't gotten too touchy with. Past field trip experiences helped one identify what to bring, especially after being sick from eating snow and peppermint bark out in the Joy wilderness. She just begged to Jack she wouldn't lose this luggage like during the boat crash of the last field trip.
After the usual explanation, or lack of, about the field trip, Colette took the time to admire the fact she was in the human world. A mysterious and very curious place to be in for a young Reaper such as herself. Surprisingly, it didn't look, smell, or feel all to different than Halloween Town, but who's to say? Maybe there's more. Maybe it was incredibly dangerous! Luckily, even if so, she had a group to bear it with. One she should really probably be meeting --- of course, only after picking up the three pumpkin pills. Usually Colette wouldn't be so brash as to take on the responsibility of claiming them without member-confirmation, but she definitely recognized the life-restoring items and felt comfortable enough to handle the pills herself, if even for a temporary amount of time.
The ghoul was only familiar with three group members herself, the last one being completely unknown to her; however, it would have still been hard to find them had it not been for a very noticeable, loud scream. Colette headed towards the source with the team's three pills in hand out of urgent curiosity only to find her own teammate, Taryn, whom she had briefly met at prom, and another boil. She didn't know what to make of him exactly. He was probably on their team, but.. he was standing in a strange position. He didn't cause the scream, did he? "Hey! Is everything okay?" Colette asked, a little suspicious of Johan.

At that massive, muscled face suddenly crumpling around the edges, Christof's did too. Great. Fabulous. The boil was easily twice his size and he still was baby sitting.
First years.
With a sigh, the hunchback attempted a smile that looked a bit like a tapdancing centipede as he tried to get the angles right without appearing too... *forced* and gave the brute an assuring pat.
Maybe it wouldn't be as bad as... that last place. But really, he had felt Christmas had been the worst thing ever, up until they came to the island. Hopefully it wouldn't be SO bad...
But a boogeyman training ground? There were layers of that that sent a chill up and over and down his spine, his palms sweating with excitement. Okay, maybe he was a bit excited. But if only to drown out the screaming pangs of dread churning in his stomach. There was no real reason to worry Herryk this early in the game though, right?
The hopefully-not-forced smile twitched a bit at the corners as he returned to his notebook, scribbling out quickly:
Do you think this is really the human world? Said it was. Doesn't feel like That Place did, though.

Herryk's face brightened almost instantly at the pat that Christof offered. Paired with the hunchback's smile, Herryk couldn't help but feel at least a little more optimistic. Maybe the last field trips hadn't gone very well, but Herryk didn't want to delve too far into that. Maybe another time, another place. Right now he just wanted to feel giddy about attending his first field trip. For a moment he'd almost lost that spark of excitement but Christof's smile and reassuring pat, Herryk felt it burbling back up to the surface.
Reading the note that Christof had scribbled, Herryk glanced up and met Christof's eyes. A huge smile parted his lips, those eerily white teeth flashing.
"Herryk thinks so, yes, Christof," Herryk nodded, tugging on his ascot as he spoke, "At least, Herryk hopes so. And if this is not feeling like, ahh.. that place did, maybe that is a good sign, hmm?"

OhJackohJackohJackohJackohJack - FIEEEEELD TRIIIIIIP! Sometimes Mortimer wondered how much more active the academy could get: first Terror Warrior, then Movie Club, and now this. Mind, he was happy to be getting involved like his dear old mom told him to be, but once the zombie eyed those three pumpkin pills, heard their description, and saw the various reactions on some of the students' faces, he had to wonder . . . How bad was this going to be? How bad had it been before?
He didn't have much time to consider the possibilities, though, as his laptop had been confiscated. ;w; Wryyyyyyyy?
Mort's Backpack x 2 ziplock bags of Piggles bacon jerky x 3 small first aid kits (with some bandages, thread, and a needle; one also contains several leftover pain pills) x 1 spare clothes x 1 comic book x 3 large water bottles (2 held in outside pockets of backpack) x 1 soap bar x 1 deoderant x 1 shampoo x 1 pad and pen
Then again, it was probably a good thing the laptop was gone. Who knew how much the zombie boil could actually hold without falling over? He did look like a stick after all.
It wasn't hard to find his group in the throng: they all were giving off soft auras of color thanks to their uniforms in the evening light. Waving in greeting, Mort offered a smile as he approached and hefted his backpack, glancing at the stars overhead. Human World, huh? He wondered just how many of the students actually once lived here, like he had. None of this of course rang any bells, but . . . he still felt odd to be there.
For now, though, Mort didn't approach Red for the pills - he was honestly intimidated enough as it was.

Myr was not as enthusiastic about this trip as some of the other students were, but who could blame him. The last couple of trips that he had been on, while overall sucessful, had been full of chaos, and he didn't expect this one to be any different. He made his way through the inspection, his bag passing without any issues, and then through the portal.
He wandered around the crowd, looking for his other group members, pausing only when Red began to speak. He hadn't realized that she had that much power, to convince the boogeymen to let them use a training facility of theirs, and he wondered just exactly was going on. It had to be something big, why else would they be in the human world, but he was more than willing to wait. He was sure they would find out one way or the other.
He found it interesting that the House was a living creature, and would have been interested in hearing how it worked, but he was likely to be one of the few. Oh well. Perhaps he could draw his own conclusions from this challenge and then perhaps ask Red how it works. Perhaps not. It would all depend on how this adventure went.
He finally located one of them, Nefertari, and moved over to stand by her. "So, " he said, setting his backpack on the ground next to him, "what do you think of all of this?"

Like some terrible roller-coaster full of ups and downs, Herryk's expression fell again as he read the words that Christof had presented him with. As each word was mouthed, the furrow between Herryk's eyebrows grew deeper and deeper. The frown on his lips grew greater and greater. His entire body grew tense, and he loudly, loudly cleared his throat.
"Herryk is sorry for Christof's bad times," the Draugr choked out, reaching forward to gently pat the Igor's shoulder. Dying? Traffic? Weapons?
...dying?
This all sounded awful. Really awful. Herryk was having second thoughts about going through with the whole thing, but what could he do now? He didn't want to come across as a big sissy. In Herryk's mind, this was going to be a grand competition where his team would come out the winners. In Herryk's mind this would be something like Terror Warrior or some such. Something simple. Something fun.
The terror that gleamed in Christof's dual-toned eyes did not look like fun. It did not look simple. It looked like the opposite, in fact.
"Herryk will look out for Christof," he offered awkwardly, "and the other team members, too."

The Patchwork came through the portal with her bag...which was mostly just a first aid kit and extra cloth for bandages unless you counted the mysterious pair of shoes that had been stuffed into the bottom, which weren't all that mysterious if you took into account that her feet were bare. What? She hated shoes. But someone else might need them! She listened to the briefing intensely, and then took a closer look around. The Human World, huh...? Creepy...! Being there once was enough, perhaps this one would be better.
She didn't trust this place, even if the sky was a nice red.
"OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH SO THAT'S HIS NAME!" Amrita cried out much louder than she intended when Red called out for Roch. Well, that was helpful! He had been so coy about giving her his full name and upon her last visit admittedly didn't look any further than the letters r, o c and h. IT WAS GOOD TO KNOW, apparently.
Then, back to business! She spotted Xiu in the crowd and headed right over...or at least tried, as a certain Kitsune Demon came into her peripheral vision. His back was to her, and he seemed to be...not heading towards Xiu. What?! Poor Remi, getting lost!
AMRITA TO THE RESCUE!
She shuffled over as fast as her backwards feet would take her, reaching out to pinch the fabric of his shirt to get his attention. "Remi! Where are you goin?" The ghoul, while actually looking her age now, still sounded young and innocent, lifting her free hand to point to the little baku in the distance. "Xiu's that way!" The come on, come on was implied as she tugged gently on his sleeve, trying to get him to follow her.

Nefertari smiled at her fellow teammate. The female felt a little out of place at times with all the boys but she could hold her own. She was glad she had at least found one of them. She nodded to her own pack that was near his. Hers was bulging as she had so much.
"Well it will most definately be interesting. I can't wait to see what they've done!"
Tari hadn't been on a field trip before so she had no knowledge of how bad the last ones had been. She had heard stories but didn't believe something unless she saw it. It would be both a mental and physical challenge and she enjoyed both. If she could rack her brains or rake with her claws she'd be happy.
