Nick pondered aloud. "But if Xavier and Damien are twin brothers, then wouldn't that mean Rose and Nina are..." he gasps, "SISTERS?!"
He pauses and looks at the professor. "Oh... Hi. I'm here for the class."

"Nice try, but you aren't gonna fool someone who's been watching this show for nearly 12 years!" The man declared, perhaps a bit more proudly then necessary.
The black clad man flopped back into his chair, which his Bisharp had already picked off the floor. He coughed into his hand "Anyway. I am Professor Rook Vontrune, I'll be your instructor for your time at the academy."
"Tell me, are you ready for your first mission?" He asked, arching a brow.

Nick shrugged. "Can't blame me for trying. I watched that show with my grandmother when I was little, so I guess I'm not as up-to-date as you." He paused. "Mission? Oh sure... but what kind of mission? Will I learn some super shielding technique for my pokemon?" He struck a somewhat superhero-like pose while saying "super shielding technique", as if to demonstrate his thoughts.

"Don't get ahead of yourself kid, you're nowhere near ready for that kinda thing" Rook stated bluntly, his masked face delivering for little hint to his expression "You haven't even caught a Pokemon before."
The Professor leaned to the side in his chair, opening a drawer "...which actually brings me to your first mission" He said, sitting up and placing three Pokeballs and a Potion upon the desk "You must head out to Beginners Island and catch at least one Pokemon."
A rather simple sounding mission...until..."While there you also must obtain an item for me. A Chrono Stone. An item only found where the past exists in the present" Rook instructed, folding his hands "You'll find the Docks behind the Pokemon Center. Go around back and down the stairs...but if you value your life, don't go all the way down."

Nick picked up the items off the desk and nodded. "That's fine. I have no intention of risking my life." He began to walk away, but paused. "Any words of advice?" he asked, glancing behind him at the professor. He WAS a teacher, after all.

"If you aren't prepared to risk your life, then get out of my class" Rook spoke, his voice surprisingly stern for once as he glared at the both from beneath his mask "No Guard worth his salt isn't willing to risk their life; you'll have to if you ever expect to protect somebody."
"My advice? Make peace with death...it'll get you a lot farther in this place" The Professor added, his expression and voice still stern...at least until the TV turned on...
"And we now begin our 3 hour marathon of Pokemon General Hospital"
After that the Professor's gaze was off the boy, a squeal of delight tearing from his throat as he clapped his hands. Apparently another soap had just started...

That hit a nerve. Nick sighed, annoyed at first, but then thought more closely on the teacher's words. He said "if you value your life" and not "if you aren't willing to risk your life", two things which meant highly different things. Accordingly, going all the way down stairs was not risking his life, but ending it.
Nick smirked. "Fine, Professor Rook," he said to the man he was sure wasn't paying attention anymore. "I'll avoid meaninglessly ending my life early and accept risks. However, I am far from ready to die just yet. I have much to do and many answers to obtain."
Nick headed to the door and stopped just short. "Oh," he said, not looking back. "When I return, I do hope you're ready to answer me a few innocent questions." With that, he left.
[Exit to - Pokemon Center]
[OOC: Everyone seems to be going to the Pokemon Center and then Beginners Island, so I assume that's how it works, though it seems easier to just say I'm going straight to BI, even though the dock's right behind the Pokemon Center.]

Jace walked into the classroom and looked around for the professor. He yawned ready to start his training. He spotted a man watching a soap opra or he thought it was a man he couldnt tell in the dim light, Jace didnt let his guard down as he thought that the man could be his professor. "Hello you my professor? Or do I have the wrong room" He walked over to the man and looked closer his guard not lowered at all, he may be flirtatious with the ladies but he was still cautious around people finguring they want nothing more than to fight in this cruel world of theirs

King Lancer Jace walked into the classroom and looked around for the professor. He yawned ready to start his training. Rather then an immediate verbal reply, Jace would find a spear pressed against his throat with just enough force to cause a single trickle of blood to slip down his neck. The motion was faster then an untrained child would be able to follow, and nothing seemed to point to where the weapon had actually been produced from. He'd receive at least one thing for his trouble though...
"If you value your life, and intend to be taught by your Professor rather then slain by him, you'll be quiet until the.... COMMERCIAL!" The man shouted as the images upon the TV turned to something about Bubble Wrap, the spear was abruptly withdraw. "Lets make this quick!" The Professor said, pulling open a drawer and placing a number of items upon his desk. Three PokeBalls, and a single Potion.
"I am Professor Rook, welcome to the class. Go to Beginners Island and catch a Pokemon. Use these items" The Professor instructed, speaking rather rapidly "Docks are around back of the Pokemon Center. Don't go all the way down the stairs if you want to live. Also find a Chrono Stone while on the island, it will be wherever the past meets the present."
"Any questions? No? Good! Commercials over!" His rather quick worded instructions over, Rook turned back to the Television. Clearly the child would gain no further words from the man.

Jace shrugged and picked up the items swiftly as he place a finger to his bleeding throat, and sighed. Now this man was a bit quicker than Jace had thought but he liked the man, straight to the point. He turned without another word and walked towards the exit with a smile on his face. A Chrono Stone, where the past meets the present, vauge words but it made the mission more interesting as he moved out his hand on Oni's pokeball, he wasnt afraid to die infact he would be honored to die protecting his team.

The girl walked in the classroom, her eyes a bit weary. After this meeting with her Professor, before her next mission she would go to her Poke Terrain and go rest for a little while. It would do her pokemon some good as well as resting herself. Both trainers and pokemon got tired after all. The girl then pulled out the Chrono Stone and placed it on her Professor's desk."I obtained the stone, Professor. Along with managing to add three new pokemon to my team. A Growlithe, a Numel and a Totodile." the girl remarked.

Yet the only thing Riku would find the the classroom was a note atop the desk reading as follows...

The girl hadn't realized she had been talking to herself. Shaking her head slightly, she then glanced at the note. Well that made things pretty easy, and besides she needed to get acquainted by her newest member of her team. Placing the Chrono Stone back in her pack, she then turned back towards the door. It was time to head home, time to rest for a little while and gain strength for the next day. The girl then began to head out the door, heading towards her terrain.

Well it looked like she was the first person here again. She glanced around the classroom curiously. She had never actually seen any other students here besides that one kid, Lucien. The girl wondered when she would get to meet the rest of her fellow classmates? Shrugging, she just needed to give the Professor her Chrono stone, show that she had added at least one new pokemon to have team and then be placed on her next mission. It was going to take awhile but maybe her broken leg would heal sometime in that time period.
The Totodile on her hand glanced around the room curiously. It was the first time he had been off the island, and this place was strange. However he didn't do anything but let out a Quack. Once the Professor heard him, he might think the girl was crazy for catching a pokemon like this.
Ryuu wondered what kind of mission they would be given. Regardless whatever it was, at least they would come out stronger in the end. After seeing all the other pokemon, the Steelix, the Emolga, the Gliscor, and the Aerodactyl just to name a few, he needed to become a lot stronger if he ever expected to defeat any of them at all.
