Again the waves of heat would slam into the Shieldon's body, and again the Pokemon began to glow like freshly forged steel; with but a single differently. Slowly, like a small leak in a faucet, a thick grey liquid would drip off his body, striking the ground and producing an audible sizzle. This time the Numel had produced enough heat to reach the Shieldon's melting point. ">Words can hurt!<" The Shieldon declared rather loudly ">The Pokemart sin fell...fell on my Uncle...last....Tuesday...<" As those final words slipped from his mouth, the Shieldon would hit the ground, disappearing in a burst of colour.
Again the terrain would give way to shadow, and Riku would once more find herself in the arena. Only this time, she was the victor.

The Numel looked happy and pleased with himself. It was his first true battle and somehow he had won. Feeling the slight power rise within him, he then glanced out in the darkness. Despite the battle he had just experienced, he wasn't done battling yet. It made him want to fight once again. To gain more power, become stronger and someday be able to protect Riku.

What would follow was likely not what the girl would come to expect in this place. Instead of the shadows receding to make way for some unexplained and unexpected landscape, the darkness would remain. Only one thing would seem to change, as a light high above turned on to illuminate a human shaped figure several feet off from the Numel.
Sitting down, positioned backwards on a chair was a Mr.Mime...and there came only one problem with the picture. Despite how he sat, there was no chair beneath the Pokemon. Only air was beneath him, yet there he was. Sitting. A fedora resting atop his head.

The Numel looked around but didn't see anything. Where was his opponent? Then he saw a light coming from above. Okay what was that? Glancing up, he spotted a weird pokemon. It looked like it was sitting but it wasn't actually sitting on anything but air. The camel pokemon was getting kind of impatient. The human looking pokemon wasn't actually doing anything at all. In that case, he decided to attack first. Concentrating, he let loose the blast of Heat Wave aiming upwards to reach his opponent!

Standing up, the Mr.Mime would make a motion to step away from the unseen chair. One hand held on what was presumably the top corner of it, he'd move to spin the chair slightly. When the motion was done, the Mr.Mime would pull down the brim of his hat and thrust out one arm into the air ">Wooo!<" He cried, then with steps as smooth as silk, began to perform a perfect Moonwalk.
Spinning on his heel once he'd reached a certain distance, the Mr.Mime would proceed to moonwalk in the opposite direction. It was a rather peculiar way of going about it; but the Mr.Mime seemed to be using Wide Guard.

The pokemon's strange move made the Numel confused. Okay, so this was only his second battle but somehow dancing didn't really seem like much of an attack... Shaking his head slightly, he watched as the waves of heat hit the pokemon. Well it could always be easier to hit his opponent while it was down right? Again, he summoned the heat within and then out it came blasting into waves as the fire attack tried to once again hit his opponent.

[MR.MIME HAS BEEN BURNED!]
Rolling upon the floor as the flames washed over him, the Mr.Mime would end up in a rather odd position. Hunkered down on all fours, the Psychic-Type was standing in precisely the same stance as the opposing Numel! Twisting his neck farther then it was meant to naturally go, the Mr.Mime followed Huojin's movements precisely. When time came to perform the next attack, the Mr.Mime's skin flushed a bright red.
Twisting around onto his feet, the humanoid Pokemon would bring both hands together, eyes narrowed; and surprisingly, a ball of flame would appear between his fingers. Thrusting both hands forward, the Mr.Mime would loose the fire-ball, transforming it into a powerful wave of flame set to counter the Numel's own. Unfortunately for Huojin, though the Mr.Mime might not have been the best on the defensive, he was a master Mimic!

The Numel watched the pokemon in surprise. So he could actually copy him? Huojin knew that this pokemon wasn't a fire type but when he saw the fireball, it was just strange. Instead, the pokemon just watched in amazement. Okay, he definitely needed to be careful here.

Taking the same stance he had before, the Mr.Mime would begin to gather heat in the palms of his hands, forming a blazing fireball. Thrusting both arms forward, the Pokemon would again make use of the Numel's last attack. He was fighting Fire with Fire by using another Heatwave!

The Numel was blown backwards by the strength of the attack. Despite the fact that fire attacks weren't as strong against him, he was still hurt by this one. Irritated, he lowered his head slightly. This time, he wasn't going for any fire attacks. They weren't going too well so far. Instead he pawed the ground before lowering his head slightly and aiming to Tackle his opponent!

Spreading out his hands, the Mr.Mime would place one forward as if pressing it against unseen glass. Placing the hand to the side as if on a connecting wall, the Mr.Mime seemed to be performing the most cliché maneuver known to his kind. The invisible box!

Unfortunately for other pokemon, the invisible box didn't exist. Or whatever it was doing. The Numel charged forth and slammed into his opponent with enough force to knock it backwards. He look smug at the prone figure, knowing he had won the battle. Second battle and second victory. What good luck he had today.
Riku on the other hand, motioned for the Numel to take a break. He had been doing well and she was pleased with his progress but he didn't need to battle so much. She looked at her poke balls and then decided to release one. Tossing the ball, there was a bright red light as usual.
After the normal red flash, the Totodile stood. He glanced around curiously, wondering where he was. Okay, so this room was not one he was familiar with. Oh well. The Numel was shouting something at him and he realized that he was going to battle. Time to test out his skills. He might have to stay and defeat the little cocky camel's record. So the water crocodile stood waiting for his opponent.

The shadows would mix and swirl, black turning to green as a clearing amidst a sea of trees appeared before the girl. Four stumps sat within the clear, lines marked between them forming a square; and atop the farthest stump would be their latest opponent.
Standing half the size of the Totodile, feathers ruffled and beak somewhat dented, was a Taillow wearing an odd dark mask; one which covered the birds head save for beak and eyes, a series of laces at the back. Immediately the little bird's eyes would narrow ">Hey you! Lizard breath! You think you can walk into my ring and be the king of the castle!? Well you've got another thing coming! This here is my ring, and my forest! Ya hear me!?<" The Taillow cawed in a harsh, gravelly voice ">Now you're going to walk into this ring and show me what you're made of! And I'm gonna grind you into hamburger! Why hamburger?! Cause only pansies are vegetarians! Now get over here so I can toast you, roast you, and...and....something that rhymes with those two words!!!<"

The Totodile despite the strange appearance of the bird pokemon had a happy smile wide on it's face. The blue crocodile began racing forward, roaring! Yoshi then started quacking as he bounded towards his opponent. Well if the Taillow hadn't been convinced that the pokemon had a unique personality, it would definitely realize it now. While his opponent was distracted, there was a hidden agenda visible deep in the pokemon's brain. Another roar came from the Totodile's maw as his right claws began to glow with a silvery sheen. Whether his opponent knew it or not, since the bird seemed to enjoy talking he was going to try and slash through it with Metal Claw!

">You wanna a piece of me dino brain!? DO YA!?<" The Taillow cawed harshly, spreading his wings as he watched the Totodile's approach ">Well let me tell you somethin Mr.Blue Scale! No one messed with me and walks away! You might as well be a Torkoal you're so slow!<" Dropping off the log, the Taillow would begin to beat his wings at a swift pace, rapidly rising through the air, twisting about in ways most Flying-Types could only dream of.
Once he'd gained enough height, the Taillow immediately began to plummet, wings held close to his body as he angled himself toward the Totodile. ">Lemme tell you something Toto-Butt! When I'm done with you, there won't be enough to make a belt!<" The Taillow squawked, his body rapidly beginning to shimmer with a light even brighter then those of the Totodile's claws. This was a brilliance purer then that of still, this was the light of the fearless, the courageous, this was Brave Bird!
