"Quit it."
Juno smirked, but for the sake of peace with his friend on this important mission Juno did stop his playing.
"Le papier and ze documents. Pleaze help yourselves."
Juno snickered at the man's accent, at which he was given a narrow-eyed look which made Juno's snicker turn into a clearing-throat-cough. He wouldn't have laughed if the guy wasn't being such a snob about it all.
"I cannot understand a word he's saying...probably that grit's a sewitan."
Juno shrugged. It didn't matter to him. Thank goodness the employee quickly left though. Juno strolled around the desk, flipping here and there through the papers on the desk. Most of them were documentation on the items that were to be auctioned off later in the evening. A whole bunch of fancy shmancy stuff that Juno could never be all that interested in. Items like 'The Mermaid's Jewel', or 'Griffin's Claw' and other fantastical sounding names. Each paper with each item listed had descriptions of what the item was, if there was a legend or a myth about it and what the basic values of each item was and/or what it was made of if it could be identified. A whole lot of blather until Juno managed to nearly toss aside one named 'The Phoenix Eye'. Said to have healing abilities or something like that, though not scientifically proven was the disclaimer.
"Hey, check this out." Juno nudged BB in the arm with his elbow. "All these sound like some knight went on a quest to gather these items, don't you think?" He chuckled. He wondered how he'd look in armor.... He was probably too tall and thin, even with his lean build. Armor was heavy and/or bulky. It would be terrible for movement for him. Though maybe BB would look good in it. He imagined it in his head and snorted. Then coughed and shoved the paper in front of BB's face.

((what the...I thought I already replied here and was waiting o.O I must stop sleeping late consecutively...))
As Juno rummaged through the files, scattering the documents everywhere, Zone checked the drawers, log books and looked through the crumpled papers in the waste basket. "Is this thing really connected to the disappearance of those kids?" he thought for a second and stood beside the table where Juno was busy with the papers.
The duo kept themselves busy looking for clues to solve their case, what they didn't know was that they were being watched from afar since they arrived in the building and planned a setup for the two.
"Hey, check this out." Juno's nudged made him break his thought "All these sound like some knight went on a quest to gather these items, don't you think?"
"What is this beanpole chuckling about?" Zone thought and stared at him as his friend chuckled then snorted. "What?" he said, then Juno coughed and shoved a document in front of his face. Zone moved back a bit and bump the table a little that knocked the lit glass oil lamp that was sitting at the edge of the table, toppled down on the wooden floor with the papers that quickly burst into flames.
And while they were putting out the fire, a sinister figure peeked through the small opening at the door and snickered. Zone noticed him right away and turned towards him. "Hey! Hey you!" Zone shouted ran towards the man and immediately pulled the door open.

What the heck...! How did that fire even start? Where did that oil lamp come from? He didn't remember seeing it when they came in... But Juno quickly looked around for something that could help them put the fire out, and there was a coffee pot half full, he poured that out onto the fire. But there were still small spurts, which he tried to stomp out with his boot.
"Hey! Hey you!"
Juno looked up distracted from the fire. And off in the distance there was a cloaked figure running through the back entrance across the room. He immediately bolted after Zone as the two ran after the mysterious dark figure.
Juno shot a few times but the man seemed to dodge them as if he knew exactly where he was aiming. They chased the man down the stairs and out the building. Down through the crowded dirty streets of Ronth. The strange thing about the man they were chasing was the fact they always seemed to be just out of reach of him. After running a few blocks, the man dived down a set of stairs into the subway system entrance.
Dodging this way and that, Juno speedily followed the man jumping over the turnstile and again trying a few shots which the man easily seemed to dodge without once looking back. The few short beams of light struck the opposite wall.
Then out of no where, the man jumped into the tracks and began running down a tunnel. Of course Juno followed. Beginning to get frustrated by always being just about ten feet behind the man, Juno shot a number of paintball shots after the man. But he dodged into the neighboring tracks and all three of Juno's shots struck an electric box off in the distance where the tracks curved around a corner. The box blew up in sparks and Juno knew this was going to be bad news.

Trouble seems to be brewing.
The two heroes to be, went after the cloaked figure towards the back entrance all the way to the dirty crowded streets of Ronth. The man that they were chasing seems to elude all Juno's sharp shooting prowess. "Hey stop!" Zone clutched a vial in his hand, he cannot throw it. Civilians are sprawling all over the streets. They can't afford a single casualty. But they seem to be wrong.
Zone was just behind Juno, bumping to every person among the crowd. Juno's long legs and slim figure gave him an advantage over the short-drowning-in-the-crowd Zone. Fortunately, his friend is huge and can easily be distinguished when you look up in the distance, he just followed where he goes down to the subway. Juno jumped over the turnstile, he jumped too, his partner jumped down the tracks and into the tunnel, he followed down too.
"That's not good." Zone said as he saw Juno's paintball shots missed the cloaked man that jumped to the other side of the tracks and ran off, Juno's shots hit the electric box instead. Lights flicked, went out and the trains slowed down to a halt and the cloaked figure was nowhere to be seen. "This is bad..." he said to Juno as the officials starts to gather. He pulled Juno out to hide.

Juno was getting extremely aggravated at the fact that this was the third time the man had dodged his perfect aim without even looking back! What was this madness!
"What the hell! FFFFFFFFF!" Juno's frustration was clear on his face, scowl and all. For one, he was angry that the target had eluded his aim. His perfect freaking aim that he had spent countless nights, days and who knows how many hours on. And secondly, it was entirely his fault that the man had gotten away. He knew that running should've been his advantage in a chase, and that Zone couldn't throw any vials in the crowds or in the tracks. The situation had been entirely on him. And he had screwed it up.
"This is bad..."
"No kidding BB." He said as it was quite obvious that things were bad and it was all his fault.
He was fuming. And it was the most rare occasion for it to ever happen. But considering the stakes and where the blame sat (supposedly on him), Juno was mostly angry with himself for not being good enough apparently. And then Zone pulled Juno to the side even though it was pitch black in the tunnels from the blow out. "What the hell are we supposed to do now? Go back to SA and report our failure?" He scoffed. He knew he was being uncharacteristic. But really this was all his training was proving? It was waste. Was being a hero a waste for him now too? He clenched his fist and realized that in his left hand he was still holding the stuff rabbit.
He felt ashamed of his behavior. And remembered the real reason why he wanted to become a hero. And why it was so important. And why he couldn't let this build up of anger take him down. He took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. "Let's go back to SA. News will get to them soon anyway." The anger beginning to leave his tone and a sort of resignation at their disappointing escapade into heroism entered it.

"What the hell are we supposed to do now? Go back to SA and report our failure?"
"I DON'T KNOW!" Zone shouted and punched the wall in front of him. Footsteps can be heard now with flashlights searching out in the darkness. Frustrated, he remembered why he dragged Juno to hide and whispered, "I want to go run after the guy! He definitely know something! Let's go after him!" he wanted to know why would Juno's shots miss too. He certainly knew Juno's aims are perfect. What happened recently was surreal.
"Let's go back to SA. News will get to them soon anyway."
"Tsk. DAMN!" and he threw another punch on the wall before they left the place and disappeared.
"Wh--who's there!" said the incoming official and points his flashlight to where Juno and Zone was before, but found no one.

It was only moments before SA superiors had gotten to the two sidekicks. They were still on Ronth, when they got picked up by Binary's fancy transport contraption for emergencies and tight fixes like this. With a row of surly faced superiors staring at them the entire ride.
Once back at SA the two sidekicks were sitting through the worst half hour of their lives ever....
Constant barrating and scolding from their superiors.
'Why didn't you do this?' 'Why didn't you do that?' 'Why didn't you come back?' 'This is against regulation!' 'You could've caused a big accident!' 'YOU DID CAUSE A BIG ACCIDENT!' 'The entire Ronth train system is down because of what you two did!' 'What's more you cause a fire!' 'You could've harmed hundreds of civilians!' 'You're both reckless!' 'What were you THINKING?!' 'Things are worse than we could've possibly imagined now!' 'The enemy knows our standpoint!' 'This is over both your heads!' 'You're both getting detention for a month!'
And things along those lines, so on and so forth. Of course they were fully aware that they had gone against protocol and in doing so had lost the targets and the children were still nowhere to be found. They screwed up. They got the picture...
This was impossible to listen to. Juno could barely take it. Sitting through the entire thing, he was fidgeting around with the stuff rabbit in his hands. But then his superior slapped it out of his hand.
"Is anything getting through to you?! Children's lives are in grave danger and what's worse in the hands of Mr. Good Vibes! By the profiling and information that you two managed to actually do right, this villain is half way on his road to his destination thanks to your doing!" The man threw his arms up in frustration. "Forget this! It's pointless talking to the both of you! We have children we need to save."
And with that, the few heroes stormed out of the room leaving Juno and Zone to themselves to wallow in their failure. It was late afternoon by now. And that half an hour felt like hours.
Juno quietly bent over to pick up the stuffed rabbit, contemplating all the things that had happened today. And how quickly things had changed in a single day. In the morning he had been excited beyond belief that today was sure to be the day he'd be marked as a hero. Instead... He was sitting in punishment for failing at the mission at hand. And having to have real heroes save his stupid mess. He had let himself down. He let BB down. And what's more... He let those kids down.

All Zone could do was grab the edged of his seat while they were being scolded. His ears were ringing all throughout the debriefing also since the ride with all eyes of their superiors on them.
When they were finally left alone in the room, Zone still fumed, stood up, flipped the table in front of them and kicked the chairs. After that he carried another chair intending to throw at the flipped table and he saw Juno. He set it down.
"You shouldn't have let them. You should have talked!" he couldn't say anything too at that time, he was ashamed and knew he could have done better. "You don't deserve a treatment like that. You've done everything you can...while I..."
"wrecked everything I hold again" he thought to himself. "That kid might be missing that bunny dearly" he said and sighed. "I'm sorry, Juno."

Zone's out-roar made Juno feel better. Part of him felt exactly the way BB was demonstrating. Pure rage. Throwing things, kicking things... But he knew that even if he did any of those things, it wouldn't make him feel better inside.
He felt like his years in training had gone to waste with this mission. He was sure BB was feeling the same. They had both worked exceptionally hard. Sure it was one failure, sure it was bound to happen. But Juno couldn't forgive himself because there were others involved besides himself.
"You shouldn't have let them. You should have talked!"
"And tell them what?" Juno thought. Everything they had been saying was true, it was his fault. If only he'd been better, smarter about everything. But it had all happened so fast, it was just a blur in his memory.
"You don't deserve a treatment like that. You've done everything you can...while I..."
Juno looked up finally from the soft rabbit doll to his friend's dejected face. He frowned. He hated seeing Zone this way. He was always sort of gloomy, and now look what was happening. Juno was being just as gloomy in his own way. It wasn't good for either of them.
"Hey. Don't even think what I know you're thinking. We both did what we could. I guess we're still just... Sidekicks, huh?" Juno stood and hit BB lightly against the arm a few times, finally cracking a weak smile.
"That kid might be missing that bunny dearly"
"Yeah, I know right? I wanted to give it back to them." Juno sighed with a short laugh, poking the belly of the rabbit. It was awfully soft.
"I'm sorry, Juno."
"What're you talking about? I'm the one that should be saying sorry." Juno laughed and made the rabbit dance playfully on BB's shoulder. "There's something weird about this bunny's stomach though..." He said when he realized his thumb, which was right over the rabbit's stomach, sunk into a rip in the seam at which he felt a strange pouch thing with wires.
"What is this..." Juno said curiously, now inspecting and taking apart the rabbit doll. "Holy moly.... BB..."
Juno showed his friend the intricate interior of the stuffed animal. It looked to be some sort of bomb. And that could hardly be any sort of good news...

Juno showed him the mangled toy.
"That IS a bomb. What's a bomb doing inside a stuffed toy?" Then it hit him. Zone wasn't entirely sure but he has a gut feeling. "We have to find those kids fast." This is no time to be depressed or being a failed sidekick.
"Do you think if we go back to that charity auction we'll find something? From the looks of it, it might be too late to say to the higher ups about what we found. We may not make it if we just try to report this in." he took another look at the mutilated rabbit.
"Killing those kids with the bombs inside these toys doesn't even makes sense. They are orphans! Wait--bombs hidden inside the toys, hiding them with the kids--!" his words were colliding from the sudden realization. He grabbed Juno from both arms and said, "They weren't the real targets! They are mules too! Just like this rabbit!"
And further more Mr. Good Vibes was involved. The cloaked figure came up to his thoughts again, "But what about that other man? He acts as if he knew exactly where you were shooting, like he was seeing at the back of his head?"

Juno nodded. All of his prior worries had faded away. The bomb at present was the most startling and important factor right now
"Do you think if we go back to that charity auction we'll find something? From the looks of it, it might be too late to say to the higher ups about what we found. We may not make it if we just try to report this in."
"No, there's not time. We have to get to the charity auction."
Juno waited until Zone had come to the conclusion that the children weren't the real targets, only being used. Why hadn't this connected sooner than now? After all, he had been looking at all those auction items... Oh right, there was a fire and a mysterious man in the way of any linear thinking.
"But what about that other man? He acts as if he knew exactly where you were shooting, like he was seeing at the back of his head?"
Juno took a moment to think about this. And all the events of today, their screw ups mainly. And then... "It could be there's another villain involved..." There was only one villain profile that suggested anything suspicious for these happenings, albeit short as his profile was. Good thing he'd been reading up on all the up-to-date villain files and logs though or he may not have ever made the connection. "The Seer." He said in a hurry. "We need to move fast."
Juno jumped over the fallen table, yanked the door open and ran out.

"Then let's pray that The Seer didn't look as far into this future." knowing that The Seer might be the person whose likely behind their unusual mishaps to get them out of there plans, Zone can't help to think that this Seer has seen through their superiors plans to save the kids. He hoped that they were not included in his visions. It would be troublesome if it were to happen again.
Juno then jumped over the table and out ran at the door. Zone followed, flipped the table away for him to get through.
Really, why not just run around it? Heroes...
~~~
It was already dark when they reached the place. The heroes whose supposed to do this mission wasn't here. Looks like another fake lead was brought out by those villains. A lot of rich people, VIP looking with their luxury cars can be seen outside the venue coming in. A crowd of kids were also seen from different orphanages. Then BB saw a kid holding a stuffed bunny coming in. The duo waited outside while hiding their presence. "Look, it's also the same toy you had before. They are brought in one by one easily. The guards aren't suspecting a thing."
The auction's about to start.
Fortunately for Juno and Zone, The Seer had not calculated into his planning that they would be returning to the scene of the crime. Not after the scolding he'd seen them receive, and not after how unresponsive they were. Both quiet, both obedient seeming and resigned to their punishment. He was uninterested in sidekicks, not when he had to plan the demise of the heroes that were coming now in place of those two small fish he'd already fried and taken care of.
The duo's superiors had all gone to the event undercover, trying to root out the villains inconspicuously in the large crowds and civilians. So they were all too busy to notice or see that Juno and Zone had arrived on their own just as the auction was beginning.
"Look, it's also the same toy you had before. They are brought in one by one easily. The guards aren't suspecting a thing."
Juno saw the orphanage children. And he saw the numerous rich people and fancy clad workers of the joint. Everyone was taking their seats for the event to begin. And there on the stage was an announcer about to quiet the crowds. And there was Juno and Zone standing, hiding behind a pillar.
Juno didn't care that his superiors were there. He didn't care about how many civilians were there or that they were rich and were showing off their money. He didn't care if what he was about to do was going to make an unnecessary large scene and was entirely against the hero-protocol he had been learning. All he could think about was how each of those kids were holding bombs and that he and BB needed to stop this thing somehow, anyway they could.
And what else better suited both their styles besides diving in head-first into the fray, all flashy-like.
Juno burst from behind the pillar, guns blazing (figuratively speaking) and shot recklessly numerous shots from both index fingers at the pillars, at the chairs, at the stage, the podium and anything inanimate in the vicinity. He even shot at the chandelier, and his dart shots caused shards of the chandelier to break or shatter and sprinkle down onto the crowds. All the attention seemed to turn towards the madman shooting light from his fingers.
((There superiors are there? o.o they are the heroes too right, don't you think it might be complicated? Now that they are moving about in a flashy fashion? Or are they just out of the building?))
Panic from utter chaos that Juno had started. The people started screaming and they instantly went for the front door, but because of this frenzy of wanting to get out first, it became harder for them to come out. Security was overpowered. They tried to calm the people down but it left Juno to do his stunt.
The younger children started panicking too. In the midst of confusion, some of the older children from the orphanage were still calm and was telling the other children to stay calm and not to lose their toys. They told them they are important and must keep their tight grasp to it, they still haven't got a clue that the toys were stuffed with bombs.
A masked man came from the backstage and was hiding something in his pocket. He looked at the children and snickered at the distance. He still has his power over them even in this confusion. He stepped out from where he was, and was done hiding an item he took secretly when the this mess started. It was truly a golden chance that he encountered. The item he was after, was only available in public in this day and at this event. Vibes already had what he came here for, he only teamed up with The Seer to steal the item. With The Seer startled with what has happened and decided to ran out away in a safe distance, away from the vicinity but near enough that the remote for the bomb will work. Mr. Good Vibes thought that The Seer will blow the place up in a short amount of time. He has to get out. He felt bad about the kids and the those sidekicks being an ex-hero himself, but he has other more important things to do.
As he was casually trying to escape in another place, thanks to Juno's outburst turmoil, a stage lamp fell over Vibes as he looked up, knocking him out. Instantly the older children who were with the other kids snapped back to reality and was panicking now with them.
~~~
Meanwhile, while Juno was busy trashing the place, Zone went after a suspicious hooded person holding a peculiar device. "Looks like SS can handle...ruining this place." he thought as he ran after the hooded figure. Wrecking up things were his specialty before. Looks like Juno can do a down-right catastrophe. "He's really flashy though." he muttered to himself.
The Seer stopped running, he manically laughed and brought out the remote control intending to press the button. "Hey crazy b*****d!" Zone shouted at him and threw a rubber tire he found laying somewhere along the path. It hit him and the remote was catapulted a bit far from them. The Seer used his psychic abilities a bit, and saw what happens a few seconds from now. "You cannot hit me" the clairvoyant villain said, "I know your every move." Zone proceeded in attacking him, but just as this villain said, he already predicted this sidekick's move. "Then I'll just be faster, harder and more spontaneous!" Zone threw empty punches in the air and cannot even grab him, but if the rubber tire hit him before then there's still a chance to hit him again. The Seer just snickered but he didn't know that he was slowly driven to a corner and away from the remote control.

((Oh, I just thought it made more sense that way. And yeah, they're somewhere not in the vicinity of the chaos. xD))
In the midst of all the confusion, Juno saw from a distance once the children had been released from their Mr. Good Vibes' trance. He however failed to notice that this was caused by a lamp falling on someone in the distance.
The only thing on Juno's mind right now was on getting the kids to throw away their toys and find the remote control for it. Thankfully BB went off in the direction of a suspicious figure. So it was now on him to return order to the auction event.
Jumping onto a chair, Juno shot two paintball shots directly onto the floor. Both shots collided harshly from the closeness of their range, exploding into a large flash of light. Juno, with his shades on, was not bothered by this. But it did manage to gather a large portion of attention from the frantic civilians trying their best to get out of this place.
"LISTEN UP, EVERYONE NEEDS TO CALMLY FILE THEMSELVES OUT OF THIS BUILDING IMMEDIATELY. EXITS ARE THERE, THERE AND THERE." At each 'there', Juno pointed at an exit. He did not point at the exit BB took though. Most of them being adults, calmed themselves and followed instructions seeing as Juno was the only directional jumping off point. The orphanage children however were completely lost, as they had no supervision because Mr. Good Vibes had gone unconscious. The group was huddling together by a pillar not too far from Juno who quickly swam through the now semi-calm crowds.
"Hey kids." He said with a cheerful smile. "I hope the light show didn't scare you too much." It was clearly written on their faces that they were shaken up and confused about what was going on. "I'm going to ask you to leave all your stuffed animals here, because SA is going to donate a whole lot of new cool toys for you guys! And these are kind of old and dirty." He said waving his arms out wide as he said this, theatrically acting it out. The kids were not so keen on letting go of their toys, but once they heard that they would be getting new ones, they looked at each other and reluctantly dropped the rabbits.
"Great! Now if you guys can make two nice lines and follow me outside where it's safe." He said smiling, he held out his hand to one of the smaller girls that looked nervous and scared. She hesitated but after a moment shyly took his hand. He squeezed it a little. "Come on, the exit's right there!" He pointed cheerfully.
Once Juno had walked the orphanage kids to the opposite block of the building, he told them to wait there until their orphanage caretaker would come and get them. Reassuring them that everything would be okay, his smiles and charms finally bringing ease to the children's faces.
As Juno went back to the scene of his disruption, he looked around the empty auction room and at the damage he'd caused. Not so bad as long as everyone was safe, right? Plus they were rich people, they could get it fixed up in no time. Better than getting blown up, right? And by that time he saw that their superiors had come down to see what the hell was going on.
They were going to be in a hell of a lot of trouble for this. But Juno wasn't scared and he didn't feel he was in the wrong at all. The only thing he cared about was that those kids were safe, and they were now. But there was still one more thing to take care of, and that was the remote control. He needed to catch up with BB. While running towards the exit BB had taken he shouted at his superiors, "There're bombs in here, you need to evacuate the building!"
His presence bewildered them, but before they could even react to Juno he had already sped through the doors on the opposite side of the room and out into the street(?) where BB and The Seer were duking it out.
