Soquili Name: Nagrand Name Meaning?: Orcish for “Land of Winds” # of Soquili owned: 15 (4 of those co-owned, and 11 owned only by me) I do my best to RP them all every month. Do you prefer rps or back plotting? I much prefer RPing, though I tend to take a break at the beginning of the month to do some self RP/RP hunting. But I’m an avid RP’er. ^_^ And sorry, I’m really chatty X_X Personality: (Both) Saturine
I’m going to respond as if the basket is female so as not to get confusing.
Nagrand is aggressive. Her strong urge to go on adventure leaves her being as docile as her mother to angry and sullen if she cannot find adventure. She’s slightly prone to get into “scrapes” because of this. Her desire to prove herself, and see the world is undeniable even as a child.
Her mood changes are often because of a feeling of missing out on something. Later, she must learn that you can’t always keep wishing for something better—you have to be happy with what you have.
Prompt Reply:
I decided to do Prompt 1 as I’m not comfortable RPing other peoples pets.
Nagrand walked along behind her parents. Her interest was peaked when her parents told her about snow, but hearing the constant reply of “just a little further” was getting on her nerves. When would they get there? Couldn’t they just tell her how far? She was not a baby!
She liked this adventure, so far, except for not getting to know more. What could it hurt for her to know more? Why did everyone have to treat her like she was little. Maybe they were lost? Maybe that’s why that they weren’t telling her. How was she supposed to learn valuable things like how to follow directions or find your way if they didn’t let her.
Giving out a small huff Nagrand kept walking behind them. But as much as she wanted to stay angry with her parents, her interest and excitement was winning out as she saw soft, white billows just over the hill. Peeking around her parents, she didn’t even bother to ask before she took off running and jumped into the soft billows.
For a moment, she felt the shock to her system as the icy fluff surrounded her. Nagrand’s teeth chattered as she jumped out of the snow. Why hadn’t they bothered to tell her snow was so cold?
Note: Sorry, it's short, I had planned to write more, but I've been sick.
Thank you for the chance at the involvement in the family! And good luck to everyeonw ^_^

Soquili Name: Vesna (Female); Dusan (Male) Name Meaning?: Vesna means messenger/spring; Dusan means spirit/soul. # of Soquili owned: 21; 19 solo-owned, two co-owned. Do you prefer rps or back plotting? I prefer back-plotting for most things, but RP for very significant plot arcs. =) For example, for Laertes, the majority of his story is roleplayed because his significant plot arc starts very soon. I'd love to roleplay all of my Soq all the time, but I have a lot of RP obligations in other shops on top of my real life. However, I do give time, care, and attention to all of my soq and their plots. <3 Personality: Regardless of gender, this child's temper would be "ambrosial," using the meaning of divine or worthy of the gods; the implications are to tie it to the spirit-world.
There is certainly going to be something a little mysterious about this young one, noticed from the moment they emerge from their basket. Though quiet, they don't seem shy in the least; rather, inquisitive and seeming to take in everything around them with wide, interested eyes, it seems that this young one is not holding their voice out of any reason not to speak, but rather because there are so many more valuable things to do than speak. That's not to say that he or she is entirely mute by any means; when spoken to, they reply readily, and generally with something that seems a mite off-beat or whimsical given who its coming from. The foal doesn't seem to understand why people chuckle in conversation, though the reason is likely that it seems like the statements coming from their mouth are either age-old -- silly, coming from a foal's mouth, when they've barely seen the world! -- or completely out in left field, full of fancy and wonder and make-believe. There doesn't really seem to be an in-between for this little one.
Happy and bright, but in a self-contained sort of way, it seems like this child is always amused and pleased by something around them, even if there isn't anything readily available for entertainment. While they're content to stay close to the family and spend time socializing with siblings, if they're contained in one place too long their mind seems to wander, eyes going a bit faraway as they consider the vast, unknown world around them. Often they will pipe up in the middle of a long stream of silence, curiously asking something abstract that had nothing to do with what anyone had been talking about prior, though not necessarily expecting a concrete answer; it seems like this child enjoys thinking, the more surreal the better. If they ask a question and receive a reply that makes them more deeply consider what they were asking--and allows their imagination to take wing--they couldn't be happier.
It's assumed that there's a temper hidden somewhere inside this foal's affable, daydreamy personality, but in the company of family and friends it's not likely to surface in any greatly observable way. Childhood scuffles are inevitable, but rather than dig in their hooves and argue, this child will simply pick up and wander a little ways away, looking for "more enjoyable company." While this might imply other Soquili, in fact that the child is indicating is something much more intangible: spirits, of nature and wilderness and the weather. If asked, the child would readily admit to being able to hear a language of life that soothes, comforts, and intrigues them, which they have likened to the voices of voiceless things: grass, wind, trees, etc. Whether it's just a very over-active imagination or instead it's a skill that could be cultivated in the future depends not only on the foal, but how its parents consider this particular quirk; more than likely, the child will want to learn to hear the voices of nature for clearly as they get older, seeking to better understand the world they were born into.
Prompt Reply:
Winter is fast approaching, and this will be your first experience with the chilly substance called snow. Your mother and father, ever the travelers, urge you and your two siblings on a trip just beyond the woods to see areas already blanketed by a shallow coat of snowfall. What do you think of this adventure, and how well do you fare on this semi-long travel?
(I'll be using male pronouns just for the sake of convenience in this part!)
With the coming of winter, Dusan had grown ever-more quiet, if such a thing was possible. Troubled, though unable to put directly into words exactly what his worries were, he'd begun to stick close to his parents' sides and cast furtive glances around the landscape, brow ever-furrowed as the chill stole the life of the grass and flowers and quieted their voices to him. He'd grown used to the comforting murmur of life around him, the idea that he was never truly alone even when he took a little walk out of earshot of his siblings or his parents; there was always someone there, even if someone was a dandelion or a great oak. It gave him a sense of belonging, of comfort and company, and he was beginning to become truly upset that it was harder and harder to hear the voices he'd grown so accustomed to.
It wasn't that they really spoke to him, or that he could understand what they said in terms of words or phrases. It was more a feeling, a swell in his chest and a reminder that it took all types in the world, big and small, loud and quiet; each piece of nature was just as important as the next, and if you listened hard -- sometimes you had to really strain your ears -- everything had a story. The world had never seemed scary to him, not even the dark, because he was never really alone, never really lacking for a friendly murmur, even if it was just a balmy wind caressing his cheek.
But this strange season called winter had approached, and he'd noticed along the way that everything.. quieted. The voice of the wind became a little sharper, hurt his nose and lungs a bit when he breathed in, made his ears flicker back at its coldness and the brusque way it communicated. The flowers all slipped away, not even sighing their goodbyes... if they had, he might have been more prepared. Or had they tried, and he just hadn't known what to listen for?
Pressing his nose to the ground, he inhaled, eyes going wide and startled as powder-fine snow shot up his nose and chilled him from the inside. He snorted, dancing back in surprise, and whipped his tail behind him uneasily. This... this snow, as he was told it was called... he couldn't hear its voice. Did it have a voice?
If it did, it was so quiet...
He bit his lower lip, casting his glance around to his siblings, and caught his mother's gaze in the process. Her smile was reassuring, welcoming; with a simple flick of her eyes, she gestured for him to continue onward, rejoin the family. They'd been traveling for quite some time, and though his legs weren't all that tired, his heart was growing weary. Where were the voices of nature? When he went to sleep that night, would he be afraid, because he would be alone?
And then... then, something began to happen. At first it was like a breath, something cautious and near-silent; he would have missed it had he not taken a moment to pause and look up to the sky. Then he heard it again: a little sigh, followed by a couple more, and then.. yes, he knew that sound! Sort of.
It wasn't like the autumn wind, whose voice was maternal and full of the promise of change and adventure. It wasn't cold and sharp, either, like the early winter winds... no, this was different. Softer, a little, and more playful. Lazy snowflakes drifted from the sky, more and more dotting along his vision until he could hear the voices in earnest, shoulders beginning to relax as he recognized them. Snow? Was this snowfall?
One of his siblings let out a whoop, kicking their legs up and dusting the sky with snow from the ground, and Dusan laughed. He laughed, out of joy and relief; he wasn't alone after all! It had just taken longer, but winter had a voice, too. It was quiet, and perhaps needed coaxing to be able to hear, but... but he liked this voice. The wind swirled, sending snow around his mother in a fanciful ribbon, and he laughed again.
Winter was a little bit of a trickster, wasn't it? But he wasn't alone. No, nature would never really leave him alone, would it?
Joyfully, he bounded forward to rejoin his family, brushing his shoulders fondly against his father's side as he did. Rokhan cracked a smile, leaning down to give his son's head an affection rub as he did, and Dusan's smile was bright and wide for his entire family.
He didn't say anything, but the worry and the apprehension from days past was gone from his face. His parents understood, and on some level so did his siblings, that he'd found contentment and peace again; Dusan was back, quiet and curious as ever, and now when he tilted his head up, it was to listen to the voice of winter, as teasing and naughty as it sometimes was.

Soquili Name: Male-Bjorg Female-Kenna Name Meaning?: Bjorn is Norse for savior, Kenna is also Norse for knowledge # of Soquili owned: Zero Do you prefer rps or back plotting?: Either, i mostly Rp but if small details needed to be added back plotting is perfectly fine with me. Personality: Both This foal will think of itself as better than the rest, that it is more powerful and stronger. Because to it there ill be more of its father's blood in it therefor higher in the food chain. It loves its family, but will not hesitate to prove that s/he is superior to all of them. This will mostly get it into a lot of trouble with other Soq's in the future, because s/he will take control of everyone and thing around him/her because it is the Troll way. He is the Savior of all those who are below him/her, and eventually he wants to be the leader of all Trolls. This will never happen, but he defiantly has a God complex of some sort.
Prompt Reply: ((not gonna use male or female pronouns. Hope that is okay.))
Mother and father have been wanting to take us all on a trip, to see the newly fallen snow. My siblings are hesitant to go on such a long journey in the cold. But I am ready, i do not even need my family to show me the way! I can navigate these hills with ease. I am a god among these others, the blood of the trolls run though me. I am a natural traveler and have am amazing sense of direction. My father seems proud of my confidence, and my willing to learn more. I know he can teach me somethings but i know i am superior to even him. I will be the leader of all Trolls on day.
We set off early in the morning, I of course lead the way, trotting over the small amount of fallen snow, i do not even shiver from the sudden change of temperature. My mother told me to stay closer but i ignored her and kept going. Why should i listen to her? I am smarter than even her! She kept telling me to stay close but it only made me put more distance between me and her. Then my dad tells me to stop and I wonder why, there is nothing out here, just some hills.
I stop and look around before looking back at my father, why would he tell me to stop? I understand my siblings because they are childish, but i am great. I decided to ignore him and the next step i take i am grabbed by the tail by my father, he glared at me and pulled me back. Yelling at me to listen to them and stay with the rest of them. I am shocked, how can he talk to me like that? I am Greater that he! I stay there as he glares down at me and i think that i will prove him wrong. He may be physical stronger than i am but one day i will rule over him. Over all of them.

Soquili Name: Ruzha (Female), Malik (Male) Name Meaning?: Ruzha: Means "rose" in Bulgarian and Macedonian. Malik: Means "king" in Arabic # of Soquili owned: 17, 3 are co-owned Do you prefer rps or back plotting? I do both really. I'm a slow RPer, so some events are just plotted out rather than RPed. Personality: Temper: Dramatic
Loving being the center of attention, everything that happens in his/her life is blown completely out of proportion. Walks through the woods become perilous that they fear they shant survive. A sliver in his/her side becomes a mortal wound. On the flip side, the smallest act of kindness shown to him/her receives the utmost gratitude and is never forgotten.
Whether it be from that desire to be in the spotlight, or the weakened sense of hearing he/she was born with, nearly everything that he/she voices is expressed in an unnecessary bellow. Almost every thought that flows through his/her mind is immediately expressed. And some of those thoughts just don't make any kind of sense.
He/She also feels the need for constant companionship. When alone, he/she would frequently talk to him/herself, and when she/he goes unanswered, she/he can drop into a solemn silence until new company arrives.
Prompt Reply: Prompt 1
Ruzha fought to keep pace with her two siblings, but each inhale of the chilled air stung her young lungs. Everything felt so dry and cold these days. Her parents said it was due to something called winter, and not due to the world ending, which had been her theory on the matter. And that is how her and her siblings ended up where they are now, venturing to learn about winter and pay witness to something called snow.
It was not the walking that bothered Ruzha, no, she was used to that. Hard to not be used when raised by two wanderers. She enjoyed the walked, even if she did tend to move slower than the others. It wasn't her fault, she just got easily distracted. Like now.
"Why's it have to be so cold?" whined the filly while looking to her siblings for sympathy, only to find that they drawing farther and farther away. The filly's ears pinned back as she cantered after them, her eyes watering as the wind nipped at them. Not for the first time, she cursed her weak hearing. She should have been able to hear the hoof falls of her siblings, if she had normal ears that is. Then she'd have known they were getting farther away.
"Hey, wait up! I'll get lost, and then wolves will eat me and..." Ruzha's complaints died off when she broke though the tree line and reached the sides of her siblings. The ground was... white. "Where did the grass go?"
Testingly, Ruzha reached out a hoof to paw at the white stuff. It was cold to the touch, even colder to the air, and parted to reveal the grass beneath. Curious, she pawed at the thin layer of snow more, pushing piles of it back and forth. She failed to see why her parents had sent her and her siblings here. Sure, the snow was pretty, and strange, but it didn't seem like anything important.
Pulling back her hoof, she paused when she noticed something strange. Upon closer examination, she discovered the that hoof was now wet. Squeaking, she shook it furiously, flinging water droplets at her siblings. "The snow, it peed on me!"
The ground met the young filly's rump, her footing having slipped out from under her during spastic flicking. A cloud of snow flakes shot into the air, coating her siblings. They stared at her as she stared back, and before she knew it, a war had erupted. Small clumps of snow sailed through the air, followed by joyous cries. The point of this trip was quickly gone from the filly's mind, left to wallow in a snow bank.

Aaaaalrighty participants!Absolutely no lie here, this was a difficult decision for both Lolli and myself to make. x__x It came as a big surprise to us how big the turnout was for this event! There were so many good entries, a dozen jaw-dropping names, and many with stunning personalities created for the basket baby. A few prompt replies made us pause and reflect on deep topics, and others had us bursting into happy laughter.
Unfortunately, there is only one basket to give for this event. We would like to thank everyone who took the time and effort to join the event, and we hope you guys enjoyed it as well. As we narrowed down through the list (several times, might we add, haha) many questions came up on who we should choose. Everything from the baby's initial personality, the potential for family roleplays, and even owner activity were taken into consideration. With this being Rokhan and Setsumi's final breeding, we took extra care in narrowing down our list of favorites into one. And so, without further ado, let us reveal the prize basket!

And the lucky owner of this basket is...............
.......................................
..............................
......................
.................
............
here! -> derivative
Congratulations winner! And another big big BIG thank you to everyone who entered!

But wait, there's more!
Lolli and I have decided that from this moment on, we will slowly but happily consider custom-ins for the RokSumi family line! However, as we do not wish to step on any toes, any custom-ins will be considered as ic offspring with Rokhan and Setsumi's genetics only. (And of course, all standard custom slot rules apply, lol) So if you ever find yourself interested in joining the family, or you were even super fond of your contest entry, you must pm either myself or Lolli with your idea. n__n Once all the details are sorted out (such as name, gender, family relation, etc.) we'll give the OK and you can officially quest for the family member!
Welcome to the Troll family!
