She could hear the throat clearing but wasn't sure what it was about. Maybe she had fallen into Shun harder than she thought. Being placed upright again Mitsu straightened herself before turning to see what she had done wrong. She was getting better with her balance but something like this would take some work.
"So I need to lean back a little." Processing that information Mitsu got back into position ready to try again. She did much of the same thing. Testing out the feel of the move itself without the kick. When she finally went to kick she did as Shun told her and leaned her upper body back but the force of her kick still sent her a little off balance making her hop backwards a few paces to keep upright. At least she didn't fall this time and was able to place both feet back on the floor.

Watching Mitsu closely as she moved, Shun made some mental notes while thinking of how to put things. He knew how to kick, having done so many times. It was tricky to break it down for a complete beginner.
"Ok. Better. Try again. I'm.. gonna try guiding you through this next one," he said with a grimace while placing his hands onto her shoulders from behind.
"Lift your knee up. And now twist," he instructed. When she made the movements, he adjusted her upper body. Without really thinking, he also placed a hand at her waist to ease her into the right position.
"Turn your bottom foot a bit," he added.

Mitsu only nodded as Shun stepped up behind her not thinking too much about him placing his hands on her shoulders. She followed his instruction to the letter but it wasn't until he placed his hand on her waist that she became distracted. Why? Mitsu wasn't entirely sure. In her mind it was a much closer contact than the casual hand on the shoulder or a pat on the head. It somehow reminded her of Prom when they had been dancing.
It was because of this it took her a moment to comply to his request. She was sort of frozen in place before she looked down to see where her foot placement was. "O-Oh, like this?" There was the smallest hint of a stutter to her words. A nervous reaction before she finally adjusted her foot the way Shun had told her to. She waited for further instruction before she actually performed the kick.

"Yes. Now go ahead and snap your leg out for the kick," Shun said. It was around then that he really realized the positioning of his hands. Freezing a bit at this, he slowly moved his hand off of her waist. The one at her shoulder remained where it was, just so he could make sure she was balanced as she did the kick.
It was strange how awkward that had been, but the Reaper still wasn't really all that used to close contact. Even then.. it just seemed a little more strange with the way he felt towards the girl.

At Shun's signal Mitsu threw out her leg in a kick right when the reaper decided to pull his hand from her waist. True she still had the one on her shoulder for balance but the sudden change again was distracting enough. The kick was in poor form, leaving her to rely heavily on Shun's bracing hand to stay upright. It had Mitsu awkwardly steadying herself afterward seeming a little frustrated with herself.
"I don't know that I'm going to get this right away." She said softly. It was something completely out of her comfort zone.

"It takes some time."
At least, that was what he figured. It would help if he could remember how the hell things were when he first started up. Even though she had finished her kick, he kept his hand on her shoulder still.
"Do ten more kicks like that. Then we'll switch to the other leg. Take your time with each one, try to make sure your form is correct."
After that, it would probably be good to switch to some handstrikes. Though, he really felt that her legs would be her strong point.

Despite how discouraged she was starting to feel Mitsu did as she was told and practiced the kick ten more times. She took her time but there were instances where she was off balance and had to rely on Shun to steady her. Finally she managed to perform the last kick and it showed the small amount of improvement she had gathered from trying to perform the others. It would take some work but eventually she would get it.
Then, it was on to the next leg and it seemed Mitsu had to relearn the whole process over again. A different leg meant readjusting her balance to suit a different stance. At least she didn't struggle as long. By the fifth kick in she had somewhat established where her equilibrium was. When it was over she finally stood in a relaxed form turning toward Shun to see what he thought. He had done a fair amount of tweaking to her stance but she had to rely less on his supporting hand the longer she had practiced.

While Mitsu practiced the kicks, Shun remained silent. He watched over her movements, making some adjustments as needed. All in all, she was doing pretty good in his opinion. Slowly but surely she was at least getting her balance down as she kicked.
"Good. Now we'll do some basic hand strikes. These should be easier," he said before showing her a proper fist. Releasing her shoulder, he went on and performed a slow punch for her to see.
"Keep your wrist straight. Bend it while striking and you could hurt yourself. And put your shoulder into the hit. When hitting, don't stop at the contact. Follow through. This goes for kicking as well."

Mitsu was sort of glad when the kicks were over. Shun seemed to be confident that she would learn and that kicking would be her strongest feat but Mitsu wasn't so sure. At least she had gathered some strength in her arms and wasn't nearly as weak as she had been.
Following along with Shun, Mitsu tried to mimic his slow movements to get the angle right already having to adjust her hand so that her wrist wasn't bent. She didn't want to hurt herself. She remembered when Shun had landed on his leg wrong and he had be bothered by the injury for a few days after. It would do her no good to be injured going into a field trip not far off. A field trip she was dreading.
"Hey, Shun," Mitsu said as she paused in her slow punch. "What do you think this Boogieman Training Camp is going to be like?" Mitsu hadn't heard much about it and the fliers she had seen around school gave her no real indication. She knew Red was in charge, the Professor she had yet to talk to and was unsure when she would get the chance. It was rather embarrassing going to a fellow werewolf asking them to teach you what it was like to be a werewolf. It felt like it was something she should know.

"For handstrikes, aim for the head, stomach... and if you need to, the groin," he explained while going through the motions with her. Though, when she brought up the upcoming fieldtrip, he paused to think about it.
He wasn't sure what to expect really. Shun had heard a few things about the field trips here, but this was the first time the school would go to the training camp. Quite frankly, he wasn't too thrilled with the idea of going onto boogeyman territory. He had some run ins with them, and his 'family' certainly had as well.
"I'm not sure really. It will probably be difficult, considering that's where the Boogeyman train. I don't know much of their regimen though so I can't really say much else of it," he replied before his gaze and tone softened, "But.. even without knowing what lies ahead of us, I swear I will watch your back."
In general, he wasn't too thrilled with the idea of needing teams either. He never was. But he wasn't about to be uncooperative there when it came time. Working with Riyo will be the most difficult thing for him to do however. If she could put up with him, then there likely won't be too many problems. The group otherwise, seemed fairly solid to him. The Reaper was sure they'd all do what they could to pull their weight.

"T....the groin?" The thought process struck Mitsu as a little odd. It seemed like a terrible place to hit someone. Her brain was having a hard time cooperating with the idea of hurting someone to aid in her escape. Even when that someone no doubt intended her harm.
The upcoming field trip was worrisome too. What if they expected her to know more complicated things than she did? Would it all be physical or would she need to study to be prepared? It didn't seem like Shun had much of an answer but his words were at least comforting. "And I will do anything I can to watch your back in return." Mitsu nodded.

Shun nodded slowly to Mitsu to both her question as well as what she said about the field trip.
"Striking the groin can be seen as a dirty move, but as you saw with what happened at the theater, it ends things quickly. Given how inaffective my other strikes were, the fight would have no doubt lasted a good while longer. Chances of my own injury, as well as yours, would increase and my guitar would have probably ended up smashed," he explained, "Do what you must."
Thinking a little further on the field trip, he soon let out a sigh before demonstrating another punch for her. He was worried for her. The upcoming trip was likely to have danger and well.. he did not want her to be hurt.

Thinking back on the day of their date(??) day out, it was difficult for Mitsu not to recall the way Shun had decidedly ended the fight. She imagined it wasn't comfortable and had felt a little bad for the Troll in a way. At the same time she preferred that it had ended that way instead of the way it could have as Shun explained. It would have been a terrible night if they had both been hurt and the reaper's guitar had been broken.
Do what you must. Mitsu nodded knowing that Shun had their welfare in mind. He had done what he needed to ensure that they made it out okay. Because of that she couldn't fault him for that behavior. It wasn't like he had started the fight.
Shun didn't seem to have much else to say on the field trip and instead had started to show her some other moves. There wasn't much time before the actual trip so Mitsu wasn't sure how prepared she was going to be going into it. Why had they only let them know a week out?
Completing another set of punches, it seemed Mitsu had some understanding on how it was done though it was obvious she didn't put nearly as much power behind those as she did her kicks. "I hope they don't expect me to know anything like this going into the field trip." Because if they did she would fail and probably get hurt. She could only hope someone else didn't get hurt along with her because of her own set backs.

Thinking about it for a moment or so, Shun shook his head at Mitsu's comment.
"Even without these techniques.. you still have your FEAR and your wolf form," he said. While he hadn't seen her other form, he was sure it would be equipped with natural weaponry. Those may be more useful in a fight than barely knowing the basics of hand-to-hand. However, he wasn't really sure if she'd be able to shift at all while they were there. It would be ideal though. That was for sure.
"I can't really teach you how to fight as a wolf, but you have claws and sharp teeth. Those alone should be pretty effective if needed."

"I guess so," Mitsu said softly. It was true she had claws and teeth but she wasn't sure if that would be enough. "My natural form is rather small though." Like the form she was in now. It sort of reflected her smaller size.
"I don't even know if I'll be allowed to use my natural form on the field trip." There might be restrictions, much like there were here at school. Not to mention there was a weak point to transforming. During the change she would be somewhat immobile and very much like a sitting duck.
