"Yes, exactly like that. I think I like yours better." Tide smiled and continued the tale. "Upon freeing her the mare immediately challenged the hero for not letting her attempt her escape herself. She wanted to know if this male would be worthy of her and she put him through his paces in a grueling manner until they were both gasping for air and called it a tie."
Well, that was kinda how it happened. Kainda nearly kicked his butt. He remembered the day they met. He had never seen anyone so beautiful. Not even the sour tongued Opal could match Kainda's savage beauty or strength or force of character.
"I couldn't have found a better mate my love." and he meant it, not in his wildest dreams could he have imagined Kainda.

Kainda snickered a little. "You got it!" And she had to agree with him. She did in fact use him as a living punching bag for a while before she finally decided to give him a go. And he wormed his way into her mind (and eventually heart) after a little while. She did indeed care for Tide more than she considered she would. Which made her wonder what exactly was it about him that made her all a quiver?
She blinked a few times as he spoke catching the last little bit. She couldn't help but to chuckle nuzzling her cheek against his with a content sigh. "As I have found in you, Dark Tide. I doubt I could ever find anyone truly worth me than you. You truly are my prized catch." The mare nipped at his ear a little before giving an excited whinny. "Tag!" She nipped at his nose again before bursting off, mane and tail flying behind her much like a banner. This was a bit of fun they were having and she honestly believed they deserved it. No telling how much time they had together before she would conceive and give her King the heirs he deserved. She only hoped she could give him boys.

Startled, Tide shook his head and raced after his mare. "Come back here BRAT!" he called as he ducked, wove and leaped over obstacles that dared impede the stallions way. He whinnied in mock anger at this insubordination.
His long black legs ate up the land and slowly, ever so slowly he gained on Kainda. Soon he could feel the soft caress of her tail on his face. He moved over to avoid her flashing hooves and then ran parallel to her. His black hide contrasted nicely with hers. And their flashing hooves beat a melody as old as time into the earth.
He looked at her with his emerald green eyes. He allowed them to flood with all the love he felt for her. He grinned.

Kainda felt her legs pump and propel her body forward. She felt the surge of the wind against her frame and she couldn't help but bray and whinny in pleasure of the spring and the run. Her ears laid against her head as she heard Dark Tide running after her. She laughed at his tantrum wondering if he would have the energy to catch up to her.
She did whatever she could to evade him, but alas her heart's desire swept up beside her. She felt his presence almost immediately and her eyes locked with his own. At the moment, Kainda felt pure bliss, joy, and happiness. There was no where in the world she's rather be at the moment.
It then occurred to her that she wanted to go home. To go home with Tide. However, his herd was complicated. She would need to have a talk with Dark Tide's brother it seemed. She was sure he would let her in, but she needed to do some soul searching again first. Kainda slowed down to a jog as she went through the forests. She was trying to find their glade by her memory alone. Hopefully it wouldn't be too far off. After a little bit of turning around she finally managed to get to Tide's pond. His fish were already up and active it seemed through they scurried feeling the vibration of hooves. Her head flicked down staring at them then toward the spot where their lilies were being kept. Everything seemed so peaceful.
"I want to have our foals here." She suddenly blurted out, her chest heaving from the run. Kainda turned toward Tide with a serious expression. "When I become with foal, and the time becomes right for birthing, I want to have them here. It's safe and warm...and it's not far from our herd." Kainda flicked her head to clear her bangs from her face as her red eyes met his green. "What do you say, Dark Tide?"

Tide skidded to a stop beside her. His sides ran with sweat and he blew out a contented breathe. He watched Kainda look into his pond and the earth seemed to switch its rotation. He doubted he would be able to drag his eyes off her if a Six appeared and started line dancing near the pond.
He started a bit as his fascination started to speak. As the words slowly trickled through they seemed to leak through his eyes and his had to duck his head a bit.
"That would mean very much to me Kianda." he said softly his voice oddly deep and raspy and he tried not to let it break. Silver tears ran from his emerald eyes and fell uninhibited to the layers of soft grass below.
The proud stallion walked over to his mate and wrapped his neck around hers.

The mare gave a gentle snort as her red eyes watched the male. Her chests heaved as she was still excited from the run and the companion she had. The cool rush of their small hide away felt good against her heated skin. She looked back down toward the pond before looking back at Tide with a deep admiration. In all her days, Kainda had never been this happy. Ever. She felt as if she were starting a new life at this point, and she was eager to get to it.
Tide's reply was a little quiet. At first, by his posture she thought he was displeased with her idea. If he wanted his foals birthed by the tree, she would do so, though it would be extremely awkward for her. And yet, she caught what he said. And she noticed that tears were falling from his face. Kainda wasn't sure whether or not she had displeased him, but his sign of affection quickly made her think otherwise. She had to blink a few times to keep her tears from spilling onto his pelt. Kainda returned his affection tenfold feeling her tears fall otherwise. There was nothing else but to just allow herself to open up to her mate. She managed to maneuver her head toward his ear gently whispering what she had been feeling for the longest time.
"I promise myself to you and only you, my heart, my love, and my mate. No matter what life brings us, I will be there. Nothing shall keep me from you, our family, and our herd. Forever as time, I am here. I am yours. I love you, Dark Tide."

"I love you too Kainda. I am yours, forever more." Tide said. He brushed a lock of her rich blue hair away from her face. His mother would be so proud. He had found his mate. Tide glanced over at the two lilies that lay snuggled up together. He could see roots growing on them and new buds had started to form.
"Kainda there is no other place I am meant to be beside here with you." He kissed along her neck. The beautiful spicy scent of her trickled awya from her like a receding tide and clouded his mind. He nibbled his way down to her withers and started to scratch her back as horses are often want to do. He rubbed his neck against hers and watch how his black mane contrasted with her beautiful stripes. He began to think of what their children would look like. How wonderful it would be to have them and how wonderful it would be to have someone else babysit once in a while. He couldn't wait to see what they would look like. Would they have horns like her?

Kainda felt a sense of love swell up between them as she stared into his eyes. She nudged his chin gently giving a soft whinny as he brushed her hair from her eyes. He was so gentle and calm. It was hard to believe this was the Dark Tide that could best her at a sparring match.
Her ears flicked forward in a reaction to his affectionate nuzzle and kiss. She closed her eyes shutting off one sense to enjoy the other. He was gorgeous and she was incredibly lucky to claim him as her own. She twitched a little, her tail flicking and slapping at the ground as he began scratching an itch. Oh that felt terribly good! She whickered in relief a little looking over toward him. She nipped his nose slipping from his side only to settle on their usual nest of moss near to the pond, legs tucked underneath her. She gave him a reassuring grin. "I think...we've gotten ourselves into a pretty fine mess." The mare teased wondering what it would be like to be parents.

Tide stepped around and behind her. "I like our mess, my love." he said as he settled down net to his lifemate. "Kainda you are my earth, my sun and my moon. It is from you that I draw my hopes, my desires and my dreams from. You give me something I have never had. You give me someone I can trust, someone I can lean on, someone I can run with."
Tide draped his black head over Kainda's back and smiled at her. His emerald eyes staring at her with no relief. His black mane swept over her side as he moved his head. He nipped gently at her side and let his love wash over her. He allowed his mind to touch another's for the first time. It was a measure of how much Tide trusted her. He had faith in her. He BELIEVED in her as he had in no other. Kainda was his sun.

The mare snorted toward her mate. "That's because you caused it." She chuckled nipping at his nose quickly as he settled down beside her. Kainda sighed contently leaning against him. His voice soothed her as he proclaimed his feelings for her. The mare had no doubt that this was the stallion for her. "Well only the best for you, Dark Tide. I must also rely on you. You give me strength, and hope, and feelings I never thought possible. I don't ever want to be away from you." And she meant that.
Her red eyes gazed down at him as she nipped his ear gently and in affection. At his nipping, she nickered feeling her body twitch each time. It tickled her and she couldn't help but wiggle underneath him a little. She closed her eyes as she put her head down feeling what Tide felt for her. The mare felt just as strongly about him as she let her mind wander to things to come for the both of them. There was no way that she was to be away from him now. Kainda would follow Tide until the day she no longer held breath. He was it for her and she dare not look for any other.
