The offer even took Jerome by surprise, and he was certain that the look he gave this blond man was not the most pleased of expression at the idea.
Clearly Izumi wasn't so certain about this either. putting a hand on the back of her shoulder when she grabbed his arm.
Jerome took a few seconds to study the blond.
Alright... who was this guy, didn't look like a Griff, didn't act like some street gangster. And why did he show up here and help them?
Bull s**t it was just some guy "doing the right thing" who does that?

Jerome jerked his head up toward the steps, indicating for the guy to follow.
"I need to get her up there, then we'll talk."
Jerome might have been a little desperate, he didn't know anyone to help Izumi, he couldn't stay, and she couldn't come with him... this guy seemed to be the only option, and even if it was HIGHLY unlikely Jerome would agree to letting this guy look after Izumi, Jerome was curious enough to get this guy's story.

The moment the girl stepped back from apparently just noticing him, Shizuo started a mental count down in his head. Girlfriend freaking out, stranger makes an offer to put her up temporarily(or something similar), girlfriend freaks out more, boyfriend gets protective. It's how these things worked even though Shizuo still was walking into them. He had gotten used to offering protection to others as a habit thanks to his job and while he usually could curb the offers sometimes, like now, they slipped out.
Bingo, distrustful look number one. Before their time together ended he was sure that he would get more of course. The bodyguard didn't let it faze him and instead put his phone back into his pocket nonchalantly. He then nodded to the order and casually walked up to them, though standing a respectful distance away. Despite what Izaya claimed most of the time, Shizuo did use his brains and knew when to (mostly) keep his temper on an extremely tight leash. ...And he couldn't help that crying/panicking girls tend to leave him offering to help with out fully thinking.

Izumi relinquished and let herself be led upstairs; It was unlikely she would have made it up without help--Though she wasn't injured, it felt like someone had punched her in the gut. Her stomach was doing flips and her breath came in little rapid gasps.
Not too long ago, Izumi would have all too readily accepted the offer to be put up by a stranger. She had a habit of never thinking about the consequences, and was terrible at reading people. Recent events had made her just a tiny bit more cautious.

Jerome was there to help her up the steps, Bro floating after them, and squeezing around them as he watched the new humans.
He wasn't joking around today though, in fact his face looked very serious compared to his usual cocky grin.
Her home looked the way she left it at least, maybe this will help her relax a little.
He hoped so anyway, as he brought her over to the couch that looked like she had been occupying before he had come in.
the TV was still on anyway.
"Sit here." He told her, putting a hand on her shoulder and putting light pressure, just enough to indicate to her to sit down.
He glanced over to Shizou as the man followed them up.

Shizuo gave the ghost pokemon a small nod of acknowledgment as he followed them. Really it was good to have some watchful pokemon after what just happened so it didn't bother him. Well mostly didn't bother him. There was still the little fact of his self being open to attack and he couldn't trust Aiden with protecting him if that happened. While he would trust his Metagross with his life, he wouldn't trust the pokemon to not damage even more things and make the situation worse then it was already. So instead he kept a tight leash on his emotions and continued to try and give off an nonthreatening air. Not a very easy job in the slightest.
Once they were inside the girls home he stayed by the door and leaned against the wall to keep the distance from them as he looked around slightly. At least the house didn't look like it took any damage. Shizuo looked back over t the man at the glance and raised an eye brow slightly.

Izumi sat on her couch and pulled her legs up, remaining silent. It was good that no one had come upstairs and damaged things, but it still didn't feel safe...

There would not be much time between now, and between when the Griff's would be getting up and moving, and who knows if anyone already called the cops over the noise that was made.
Jerome wanted to cops to come for sure. But had something to deal with before he to had to disappear.
Jerome left one of his hands on Izumi's shoulder as she sat there, watching her for a few seconds more, before he moved past her, and walked over to Shizou.
The guy was taller then Jerome, and thin, He carried himself carelessly, but not so much so that indicated that he was cocky, more that he just didn't care.
This didn't add up for Jerome of coerce.
"Not seen you around here," Jerome said to him "I can guess your not one of Griffin's boys." the gangster noted. "You just make it a habit of risking your life, or what?"

Shizuo kept his body relaxed against the wall as Jerome walked over. He watch him with a calm face but alert eyes. He was obviously trying not to make things more difficult but the sense of danger never truly left. He too was aware that they didn't have much time before the Griffs down below got back up and that was what never let him loose the edge. The cops he wouldn't mind showing up simply because that meant his job in containing them, at least as far as to not let them destroy anything else, was over and done with.
He took this time to study Jerome as well. Shorter, more build, possibly older by a small bit, and walks like a fighter. That alone wouldn't concern Shizuo but the protectiveness that practically radiated from the other man was. He knew how those types of emotion could lend to unpredictable situations at times and he was walking on ice. "I live and work on the other side of town, normally work there that is. Had a job that lead me to be near by." Shizuo said the quirked his lips in a small smirk/smile. "That wasn't risking my life." Really, he got more of a work out and more danger with the Flea then those newbie gangsters, only one of them had a knife and there was no guns. "And actually it's my job to be 'in danger'."

Izumi hadn't even considered that any of the Griffs they'd knocked out would get back up. In video games and movies, once someone was down, they were down. It was that lack of thought that allowed the slight girl to relax a bit while the two men talked.

The brow over the sprawl of tattoo's on his face arched as he listened. "Work huh? what kind of work is that?"
"Look, I've got nothing against you, After what you did out there I kinda owe you, I'm just wonderin' why. clear to me Ink don't know you, so why help out someone you don't know like that?"
He folded his arms, shifting his weight back and forth a few times. "As far as to go sayin' she can stay at your place?"

Shizuo shrugged slightly, not in the least bit surprised that the guy was suspicious of his motives. It would be nice though if he could explain this while he could smoke but he wasn't going to just light one in someone home. "I am a professional bodyguard." he said simply and evenly. Granted he never took classes to be a bodyguard but that was never something that he needed to do.
"It is almost ingrained in my habits to step in on things like this." The blond ran a hand through his hair briefly. "And some one once told me I had a hero complex when it came to my town and the people with in it." There was another small smirk smile there. "And quite honestly the offering was a reflex, I have had clients who needed a place to stay temporarily while I did my job. Nothing more then that."

Jerome remained very quiet for a long drawn out moment after the blond explained himself.
Though there was a slight twitch in his eyebrows, mostly of interest when the man said that he was a bodyguard by trade.
... Well now, this was interesting.
A humm rose from the gangster's deep voice, He's known a few body guards, though not directly, and usually not on good terms.
Some rival gang bosses hired them.
This one was looking for work to... this did give Jerome an idea, if it even worked out.
"You say yer lookin' for work?"

The twitch from the other man had Shizuo raising an eyebrow in curiosity. Since he knew that he was from a gang, or used to be anyway if what everyone was saying was true, the blond man wondered what the other was thinking. After all bodyguards in Jerome's past profession were the type to stand behind the gang bosses and carry guns.
"Well since my past job just ended..." Shizuo glanced at his watch for a second. "About three hours ago yes. Why?"

Prompted by Shizou's question for Jerome to continue, the Gangster unfolded his arm, jerking ahead over to the women sitting on the couch.
"Might have figured by now, but that girl there is in a tough spot, She could use someone watchin' her back."
Jerome said, though leaving it pretty vague, not that he meant to do that, just didn't think about a more detailed explanation

Shizuo glanced over at Izumi with a thoughtful look. "Yes. She obviously needs some one watching over her." He said then looked back. "But you can't do this? Why?" It wasn't a flat out no to the unspoken request, ore of a curiosity that Shizuo wanted to get out of the way first.
As it was Shizuo was close to accepting the responsibility on principal but he couldn't just yet.
