Riv smirked at that airy question, reaching over to give the Basilisk a friendly one-armed hug. "Soon enough, Dells. Be patient. It's different for everyone." He didn't want to promise something and not deliver, after all. There seemed to be no rhyme or reason to how long it took for someone to grow. Rivener had grown rather quickly, whereas Vyn and Sevilin, for instance, who'd been born before Riv had, were still Frei. Then again it might have something to do with changing homes? Perhaps uprooting a Raevan stunted its growth?
Whatever the reason, Rivener knew not to worry. Delia would grow when she was ready. "What would you even do with a Sigel body anyway, that you can't do with your Frei body right now? Wear belts? Totally over-rated," he teased, tapping his own multitude of waist decorations.
Aphismet, if he noticed Ebony's discomfort at all, acted wholly normal. The chef just straightened as she had, and nodded at the suggestion of showing Rivener. "Were we keeping this secret from Cordelia? Should I keep the magazine under wraps until you lure your smokey girl away? I'm sure Riv can pick something out right quick. I'll admit it all looks the same to me, and a little daunting to boot." He chuckled sheepishly, one shoulder raised in defeat: he was a square. A complete and irrefutable lame-oid. Trust that whatever Aphismet picked from the magazine would be boring beyond belief.
"Here," he spoke, taking the magazine gently and rolling it up to hide in a jacket sleeve. "You get Dells distracted when we get to the Hotel, and I'll pull Riv aside for a little discussion. Deal?" With the hotel looming nearby already, their plan better be agreed upon quick. The white-haired man grinned and gave a playful wink, happy to be of any help in planning someone's birthday like this. It was fun!

Shoving the scorpion playfully, Delia even went as far as to stick her tongue out at him before answering, "I could wear skirts too you know. Besides, it'd mean I'd be one step closer to getting some feet of my own and then Ebby's shoes will be mine." The basilisk cackled mischievously as she thought on her woman's wardrobe. Really it was a shame all the lovely things the violet haired human owned and yet rarely used. Sometimes Delia wondered why Ebony even bothered to buy them in the first place.
Oh well not her place to judge perhaps as she herself had some items she couldn't wear or rather didn't. Speeding ahead, the snake shouted to Rivener, “Race you to the room!"
Ebony gave a small sigh when the other hadn't seemed to notice her stiffening just now. Or perhaps he was merely pretending he hadn't as Aphi had known her for quite sometime now and probably just knew to ignore her strange mannerisms or something rather than bring them up. Yup, it was probably for the best, room mix ups aside, that it was the chef that could come on this trip.
A brow rose as she noticed Cordelia racing off towards the hotel. Honestly, that girl of hers... “Yes lets keep this under wraps for now. Cordelia will be too excited about it that she won't be able to concentrate for the rest of the week that's still ahead. And no worries, it shouldn't be too hard to get her aside while you two come up with a plan of action. Again, thanks for helping, oh and for coming on the trip and all..."

Rivener raised an eyebrow. Shoes were still a long way off, thank goodness, even for him. But if that was what Dells was looking forward to, then who was he to judge? "It'll happen when it happens. No need to ru- Hey!" He blinked after the quickly retreating girl, shaking his head in amusement. Always "racing" something.
Not one to let himself be beaten, Riv snapped his wings and took off, though Cordelia had one hell of a head start.
Aphismet didn't worry about where the two Raevans went- they were clearly heading to the hotel, and no doubt to the room. He could then focus his attention on Ebony for another moment, grinning brightly. "Oh, don't mention it! I'm flattered to be asked, and spoiled rotten to have the ticket paid and everything. I should be thanking YOU, so please, no need to thank me at all." He waved off any subsequent attempts to thank him, and very effectively changed the subject to distract Ebony. He chatted about everything and nothing, stating his looking forward to visiting art museums in particular.
Upstairs, once Ebony thought up a way to get Cordelia out of the room, Aphismet pulled Rivener into the corner near their bed and sneakily pulled out the magazine. "What's this for?" the dark Sigel asked, frowning in interested confusion.
"You need to pick one thing. Something Cordelia would like. Then Ebony said she'd get tickets and the two of you could go."
"Just the two of us? No adults along?" The Scorpion was skeptical at best, an eyebrow raised.
Aphismet rolled his eyes and nodded. "I know you can keep her safe, right?" Rivener nodded confidently. "Then there's no problem, as long as you don't go picking fights. Now choose quick, before the girls come back!"
Feeling rushed, Rivener flipped through a few pages and ended up choosing a band at random, something punkish and mainstream enough to have been signed to a label, not an indie one to boot. There'd be less chance of scuffles at something like that. Aphi nodded and dog-eared that page, stuffing the magazine up his shirt quickly when he heard the door opening again. "Aherm, Ebs, may I speak to you outside for a moment?" He'd show her which show was picked, and hopefully they could get the tickets easily enough. The chef sent Rivener a meaningful look- Keep Cordelia in here.

Back in the room, Ebony wasn't so much able to think of a good reason to get Cordelia out of the room completely as the excuse of extra towels had been already taken by Aphismet earlier that night, but she had been able to take the basilisk out on the balcony to talk briefly. It was under the guise to apologize for their fight earlier of course, which she'd meant to do anyway, and to once again reiterate her expectations of the girl's behavior on this trip.
As the purple haired woman slid the glass door closed so that no sounds could be heard from either side, Ebony gave the chef a thumbs up for him to go ahead and get Rivener to decide on something quick.
Rubbing her hands together and blowing on them for warmth, the native Brit joined her ward at viewing the spectacular view of the softly glowing city beyond. "I've forgotten how chill it can get here at night. But at least it's not foggy tonight. So we can see everything."
Though Cordelia was enjoying the view, she wasn't so much enjoying the 'chill' as her guardian had called it. Hands stuffed deep in her coat pockets and with a slight pout, "Yeah it's pretty and all, but like you said, it's kinda cold out here. So can you please tell me what you want to tell me before I turn into an icicle?"
Ebony laughed, "Sorry dove. Not just about the cold now, but also about earlier. It's just..." She leaned against the railing and looked out over the city as she continued. "Two years isn't really that much time and yet...already you seem so grown up. I guess certain things remind me about how fast you're maturing and it scares me just a bit."
Delia frowned. She hadn't thought about it like that. So Ebby was lonely as she had speculated a few times prior. The woman wouldn't say it in so many words, but apparently she was afraid of being left alone again so soon after gaining the Frei. Wrought with emotion, the snake touched her woman's cheek softly before wrapping her arms around her. "I'm not going anywhere Ebby."
This was an unexpected turn of events and it took everything in Ebony's will power not to cry then as she returned the smokey girl's hug. The woman pushed Delia away a bit to look her in the eyes, her own silver orbs watery, but not teary. She gently smiled then before rubbing the girls arms, "Okay enough of that then! You're freezing! Let's get you back inside!"
At Aphismet's request, Ebony quickly followed the other out into the hotel hallway. This quirked a brow from Cordelia and raised her suspicions. Sliding up next to Rivener as they watched the door close, "Say...what's going on? Those two have been pretty chummy all night." It was then the girl was struck with a sudden thought, mostly caused by the recent conversation she'd had with her guardian just now, and gasped.
Grabbing the scorpion by the arm she yanked quick a few times, "Oh my god! They're not...you don't think..." Delia's voice trailed off as she quickly covered her hands over her mouth in shocked surprise. Suddenly bouncing again, "They're not talking about being a couple are they?!" Only Cordelia would come to a conclusion like that after only getting like two clues as to what the humans were talking about. Apparently Ebony didn't have to worry too much about how fast Delia was maturing, because she obviously had a long way to go still.

Aphismet split with Rivener, following Ebony out into the hall so they could discuss. The chef made sure to walk a little ways off and keep his back to the door, just in case the smokey Frei decided to peek through the spy-hole. "Here's what Riv picked," he whispered by reflex, though there was hardly any way the two Raevans would hear them through the door or walls. He raised an eyebrow at the listed show, quirking his mouth and shrugging a shoulder. "Can't really tell if they'd be any good. All these punk bands look the same to me. Sound the same, too. But oh well, if that's what they'll like then so be it. You want we should go down to the front desk and order some tickets? The kids'll not follow us down there, surely. And we certainly can't call from within the room!" He snickered, realizing not for the first time that they didn't have much of a plan.
Rivener, back in the room with Cordelia, had been wondering how he could manage to occupy his friend when she practically did it all herself, coming up with a rather ridiculous theory about their Guardians. The Scorpion blinked owlishly for a moment before bursting out laughing, one hand alighting on his stomach. "Whaaaat? Oh, Cordelia, Cordelia, Cordelia. No. No, no, no. Seriously. Hahahaaahaha! N-not that... Hahah! Not that Ebony isn't a good woman, but I'm pretty sure she and Aphi are just really good friends."
The Sigel floated to the bed he'd claimed and sat on its edge, wiping a tear from his eye and trying to still his laughter, the grin nowhere near leaving his face. "Besides, I think Aphi's still pretty hung up on Alex even though it's been so long they've broken up. ...Are you disappointed? Did you want Aphi as a Step-Daddy or something? Or do you just like the idea of sudden and unexpected love stories, hmmmm?" Ohhh, Rivener thought he'd just stumbled onto something amusing. If Dells got this involved in other people's love stories, it meant she was likely a bit of a gossip! He snickered.
"People are chummy when they're friends, Dells. You know that! Hell, you and me- chummy as all get-out, but we're not dating! Same thing with you and Zul. You guys are chummier than I'd like sometimes, but it's not romantic at all. ...is it?" At this he lost some of his smile, but only a little bit. He knew they were just sibling-like, but it never hurt to hear it again.

Ebony took the magazine easily and looked over the concert Rivener had chosen. Just like Aphismet, the purple haired woman had no real clue as to how great these bands were, yet she was confident enough in the scorpion Raevan's decision that she wouldn't question it. Besides the page announcing the concert was so well designed that it had to be good, right?
Nodding, Ebony rolled up the magazine and gave a small tap to her other open palm. "All right then. Sounds good, let's go." Moving towards the elevators, Ebony hoped the kids, Cordelia most specifically, would enjoy this little gift.
Cordelia's look of shock soon diminished and was replaced quickly by a look of embarrassed frustration. She'd jumped to conclusions yet again and didn't much appreciate Riven's laughing at her faux pas. Arms folded and lips pouting, the smokey girl mumbled, "Wasn't that funny..."
She forgot a little bit of her embarrassment when Riv explained about Alex, feeling bad for the white haired chef. She hadn't really known they were a couple before. Yet as quickly as her emotions had already changed, they quickly changed back to utter embarrassment once more. "What?! N-no! I mean, sure Aphi's great, but I wasn't thinking anything like that. It's just...well Ebby..." Delia's soft voice faded off, wondering whether it was all right to say anything to the scorpion about this. She knew her woman probably wouldn't appreciate her saying things like this to anyone, but what was the point of having friends if she couldn't confide in them? "...she's always alone. Well I mean she's got me, but still..."
Maybe Riven was right though. Ebby was pretty chummy with Aphi even after not seeing each other for awhile. Hell maybe it was because they'd been apart so long that they were so chatty? After all wasn't she excited to see Rivener after a long time apart?
Delia's grey eyes went wide when the tables suddenly turned from Ebby and Aphi to her and Zul. "What?! Me and Zul?! I-No!" Cordelia shook her head hard, her black ponytail swinging wildly while her cheeks warmed slightly from the notions Riven was implying then. She'd never thought about Zul like that! She'd never thought of any Raevan like that in fact. It wasn't that she didn't think any of them were beautiful, no quite the opposite, for Delia thought many of her friends were radiant and breathtaking in appearance. Yet she just hadn't felt any strong attraction to any of them that could be considered couple's love. At least...she didn't think so.
Turning away with a bit of a sheepish look, "I do admit though that Zul is very special to me. He was the very first Raevan I met. He didn't know me very long, but he comforted me when I was uncertain of what was going on around me. He protected me when I was too new to know how. So yes, very chummy, but nothing romantic." The girl turned back around quickly then and leaned over to playfully poke at the night Raevan's cheeks. With a giggle, "Just like with you!"

Aphismet chuckled and gave a nod, following Ebony to the elevators. He was sure that even if the concert wasn't good, the two Raevans would consider it a treat to be set loose in a new city, without their Guardians around. Aphi sincerely hoped this wasn't a mistake, allowing Riv free rein...
Back in the room, Rivener felt the small bit of tension between his shoulders dissipate as Dells reacted so clearly to the implied questions. No, she'd said. Not romantic. The dark Sigel grinned broadly and leaned back with an amused wince when his cheek was poked, allowing the contact as a return for his own too-probing question. "Well good, because Zul is MY romantically-chummy person." It always felt good to say that out loud to someone, and the Scorpion's wings fluttered slightly.
"If Ebby's alone a lot, it's only because she doesn't go out much. She could come over and visit anytime she wanted! And there's a ton of other Guardians! And even if she took like, a pottery class or something, it'd be a social thing where she could meet people. If she's alone, it's her choice, I think. Maybe she doesn't like it 100%, but she probably likes it more than being around other annoying folks and trying to find the few that she DOES like. You know what I mean?"
He couldn't really say too much, though he played Devil's Advocate by reflex- after all, Aphismet was much the same. He had many friends at his workplace, but he still seemed alone. Dells probably meant alone in the heart. Riv's smile dimmed a bit in sympathy. "I think I know what you mean though. Aphi's kind of the same. Maybe we SHOULD try to get them to be a couple." And this was the real test. Rivener eyed Dells with a measuring, amused eye. Would she jump onto the chance to spawn a romance like in the books or tv? Or would she not?

Cordelia floated over to her bed and sat herself across from Riv with a cheery giggle, "I know." In actuality she'd not known completely until now. Before she only knew that he and Zul meant a lot to one another, more so than any other of their friends. But now she knew without a doubt of the true relationship between the scorpion and the baphomet. It was sort of cute. Especially how Riv was so proud and confident when he said those words. This sort of love seemed to garner a strong power behind it. Delia found this a bit fascinating and couldn't help wondering if she'd feel the same as her friend did someday. Not that she was overly concerned about it at that moment.
She thought carefully about what Riven said. It was true. Ebby came and went as she pleased, but it never seemed to be for much of anything nowadays. Work, groceries, household items, things for Poseidon, even things for her, but rarely anything for herself now. It was like she was living in an invisible cage of her own creation! Delia's eyes widen as she realized she too had come to accept things as they were and lived the same, never straying far from home. The snake frowned as she came to the conclusion that Ebony must have seen how her own lifestyle was affecting Cordelia's and thus was using this trip to England as a sort of apology. But things would only go back to the way they were once they got back to Gaia right? She didn't want to live like that and more than anything she didn't want her woman living like that. She didn't want to see her alone anymore.
And then Riven supplied the smokey girl with an outlandish idea, something she'd instigated herself earlier without meaning to. If Aphismet and Ebony were the same in their loneliness then bringing them closer together should be a perfect answer right? Cordelia bit her bottom lip as she considered such a ridiculous notion, "W-wouldn't that be wrong? I mean, I know I jumped to the incorrect conclusion earlier and you're probably right about them just being friends, so if that's the case then...then it wouldn't be right to try and force them together? Right?!" Suddenly Delia was getting rather worked up just from the mere thought of considering this as a plausible plan. "And what about what you said about Alex?! No no, what am I thinking, it is wrong! Ugh Riven why would you even say something like that?!"
