[PRP] ~(ÒnÓ)~ (Riley/Xiu/Mitsu)

[Kaiyumi]

If she didn't know that the wolf before her was Mitsu, then Xiu would have been completely terrified. Instead, she felt a great deal of awe at the lycan's natural form, but she quickly pushed this away for now. They had a job to do!

As planned, Xiu carefully climbed onto Mitsu's shoulders, making certain that she didn't tug on any fur or accidentally hurt her in any way. Once she was set, she waited until Mitsu sat back, and then she too joined in with the arm wiggling. She attempted to muster up the most threatening face she could manage.

O-oooooooh, look how scary they were!

At first, Riley approved of the fact that Mitsu was going to attempt to use her natural form to scare her. After all, it was her scariest asset, and being a giant, toothy monster would certainly garner some Fear from humans.

But she seemed mild and gentle as she dropped down onto her haunches and began to wave her paws around.

And then Xiu followed up by topping the wolf, and waving her arms out as well.

What.

Was even.

Happening.

Inside Riley's head, she had burst into laughter. Neither of the ghouls could hear it, however, and her face was the perfect picture of a deadpan expression. She really had to wait until she could gather her wits, before she finally responded.

If you're trying to scare me out of visiting the circus, you have succeeded. Otherwise.. try again. Less dancing this time.  

[Inu-Mitsu]

Paws being placed back on the floor Mitsu let out a soft whimper. They had not succeeded according to Riley's feedback. They would have to try something else. A different approach.

Tilting her head back she glanced at Xiu to see if the baku had any other ideas. While Mitsu had a big wolfish form she really didn't know what to do with it. She had never been taught how one could potentially be scary in their true form. Though for her, size alone would probably be enough in some cases. Not that she realized this fact.  

[Kaiyumi]

Aww, it didn't work! And it was such a good idea too! Xiu seemed genuinely disappointed by this, but not at all surprised that they hadn't managed to elicit any kind of reaction from Riley (not a visible one, at least). Sliding off of Mitsu's back, her frown deepened as she considered what other ideas they could possibly think of. To her knowledge, there was nothing that Riley was afraid of. She had never seen the mindflayer lose her mature composure--

--ah. Except once. Though...

Leaning close to Mitsu, she began to whisper in her ear again. She did remember that sex ed class way back? More importantly, did she remember that petite reaper ghoul--Astra--and what had happened?  

[Nio Love]

Riley looked from one, to another. Oh, good, they had another idea all ready.

Hopefully this one included fangs. Mitsu's were so very sharp and dangerous.  

[Inu-Mitsu]

Mitsu had yet to change back but instead leaned her wolfish head toward Xiu as she began to once again whisper in her ear. Mitsu knew of the incident in the sex-ed class. She had been there after all but had Riley been afraid or was she just playing around? It was worth a try she supposed but how would they go about it?  

[Kaiyumi]

Yes, Xiu wasn't sure whether Riley had simply been joking during that time either, but it was always worth a try, right? If it failed, then the mindflayer could easily just laugh it off. Hopefully.

After some more discussing, the Baku and Lycan came to a decision. They would, at the very least, give it a try to see how things turned out. Taking a deep breath, Xiu turned to Riley, trying to keep her face as serious as possible, though there was a kind of nervousness flickering on the features. Little did she know that this would actually help them with their attempt.

"A-actually, Riley, we...we have something to tell you."

Brace yourself, Riley.  

[Inu-Mitsu]

Mitsu wasn't sure how well this would work. She was a little doubtful that Riley would be frightened but it was worth a try she supposed. Nervously her wolfish head fell to the side, she didn't even bother to transform back.

"Y..yes, we wanted to ask your advice about something else as well. About scarelings. Because...we have one." It was awkward for Mitsu to talk in her lupine form. She certainly wasn't used to it so it might have masked some of the nervous tone in her voice. Lying wasn't something she was good at. In fact, she turned back to Riley and tried to smile in a 'I'm totally not lying kind of way.' Or at least she smiled as much as a wolf could smile. Really it was more like baring her teeth.  

[Nio Love]

The two of them looked as though they were going to discuss something with her, now. That wasn't-

Scareling?

Riley's face twinged, just slightly, but it was enough. There was the tiny spark of dread in her eyes, as she looked from one to another. Yet, what they were saying..

You.. and you.. She pointed from one to another. Have.. created a scareling? She hadn't even realized the two ghouls were intimate. This was.. a surprise, to say the least.  

[Kaiyumi]

...Was that something that she sat on Riley's expression? It seemed to pass so quickly, but...

Hmmmm.

"Y-yes, um..." Fidgeting nervously, the Baku wrung her hands together as she briefly glanced over to Mitsu. Fortunately, the anxiety on her face could easily pass as anxiety over telling Riley the "news". "Mitsu and I...um, have a scareling. And we don't know what to do." She paused as she tried to consider what else to say, perking up suddenly as an idea came to mind.

"A-and we wanted to ask you...if you would be willing to be his--h-her--uh...it. It's Jackmother?"  

[Inu-Mitsu]

It felt so awkward to lie and Mitsu was starting to regret not being able to wear her mask in this form. Because of that she slowly moved back toward her mask lightly placing a paw on it as she began to shift back to her other form. The strange popping and grinding noises echoed again as her form began to shrink and soon she was able to lift her mask off the floor and place it on her face.

Turning back to Riley Mitsu came to stand next to Xiu. "U..uh yes. We were hoping you could be someone for them to look up to like we look up to you." At least the last part wasn't a lie. Mitsu didn't know Riley too well but from the few times she had met her and from what she had heard the Illithid was easily someone she could look up to.

As soon as the two tried to come close to her, she took a step back, stumbling on the table she was sitting on.

Stop that. She growled, her voice sounding like a hiss. You don't.. ah.. you didn't bring it with you, right?

Mitsu's words in particular had her trying to back away. No scareling should look up to me. Just. I have to decline. Just keep it away. I am serious.

They had succeeded.

Sort of.  

[Kaiyumi]

Oh! Was it working? At the very least, they had elicited a rather unusual response from the mindflayer. Xiu exchanged a brief glance with Mitsu, and then cleared her throat again, clasping her hands to her chest. "W-well no, we didn't...bring it with us, but um...if you'd like to see it..." They could...always wrap Arashi up in a blanket and hope that Riley (somehow) didn't notice that they had brought her a cat, right?

...W-well, maybe someone had a doll that they could borrow.

For once, Xiu and Mitsu's shaky tones and nervous actions seemed useful. It wouldn't be entirely out of character for the pair to be distressed and scared if they had really been put in such a situation as the one they claimed to be in.  

[Inu-Mitsu]

That response. It was similar to class. Such an unusual reaction, Mitsu hadn't really been expecting it. The mindflayer seemed suddenly high strung on the idea of the scareling. While it appeared their plan was working Mitsu was also feeling the pressure of keeping up the lie closing in around her. Lying wasn't something she was good at could she really keep this up?

"Y...yeah we could..." Bring it to her? What would they bring to Riley? This idea was already crumbling and Mitsu could feel her resolve to keep this going falling away with it. Panic was going off in her mind and it took everything Mitsu had to keep from yelling out 'It's a Lie!' Instead she fidgeted in place looking more nervous than ever.

Normally, Riley would have caught onto their subterfuge easily. She would have called them on it, and asked them to try again. But there was something about scarelings that had Riley blanking out and thinking irrationally. She flailed her arms in front of her, adamantly rejecting the idea.

No. You will not bring anything to me. This conversation is over. All talk of scarelings ceases immediately or I will kick you out of my apartment.

Yikes. She was spooked.
