Jakob wiped his eyes and nodded slightly. "I-i've hurt other people before... but... I don't like it anymore... I don't know why I did... bu-ut I'm really sorry about that... I just... I don't want you to get hurt..."

Nuime followed Matthew into the park, easily spotting Lucy and led the way over to her and Jakob. She gritted her teeth when she sensed a demon. "Lucy!"

Jakob's head snapped up when he heard Matthew's growl, narrowing his eyes at the claws. For a moment, he hesitated, but he easily could tell both Matthew and Nuime were Marked. He got to his feet and glanced down at Lucy before meeting eyes with Matthew. "You should be lucky I was here. There was another Demon who tried to take Lucy. If I wasn't here, she would be gone by now..."

Nuime blinked twice in disbelief, only growling deeply and narrowing her eyes at Jakob. In her peripheral vision, she could easily see that the park was destroyed in some sort of fight, giving evidence to a second Demon here. "Lucy," she said, trying not to growl while talking to her sister. "Is he... telling the truth?..."

Nuime kept her eyes on Jakob but nodded slightly when Matthew backed down. She held her hand out to Lucy. The stitch marks on her hand almost made it look like she was sewn together like the rest of her body, similar to old dolls. It wasn't doll-making that her stitches were meant for though, but to represent injury. "Come here, Lucy..."

Jakob bit his lip to hold in a small growl at the threat. It immediately stopped when Lucy was told to go over to them rather than stay where she was with him. His angered look from before remained angry, but sadness snuck into his eyes as well as he lowered his head, shadows cast over his eyes by his hat. "D-do you see what I mean, Lu-ucy?... As soon as anyone discovers I'm a Demon... I can never be trusted again... I'm always treated like an outsider... like I have the Black Plague or Leprosy..." He bit his lip and tried holding back the tears and anger. A tear or two managed to escape as his hands started to shake in fists by his sides.

Jakob looked up when he saw Lucy take her stance in front of him. She's... protecting... me... He watched her for a bit before stepping up to her side, lightly taking her hand in his. Then he met eyes with Matthew again. "I swear it on my life that I promise not to hurt her. I know you as an older human is usually busy, so if you could at least consider me as her protector, I would swear not to fail you. You need to watch your own backs though when your somewhere else. Dante has his eyes on you, the Marked Male. Tsuki and Taiyou, other demons that are twins, have their eyes on the Healing Mark Female."

Nuime watched Jakob for a bit, gritting her teeth slightly as he spoke, but she wasn't mad at him. She was actually worried that there were other Demons around that were targeting herself and Matthew.

Jakob smiled a bit and nodded to Matthew. "I swear I won't let you down." He smiled wider when he looked over at Lucy.

Nuime watched them for a bit, then walked over to Matthew's side and took his hand into her's, the black stitch markings standing out brilliantly against their skin.

Jakob followed Lucy's gaze to their hands, blushing a bit before quickly letting go of her hand, scratching the back of his head. "S-sorr-ry..."

Nuime sighed softly and rested her head against his shoulder. She shut her eyes and sighed again.

Jakob chuckled a bit, then perked up at the mention of movies and games. He tilted his head at Matthew and Nuime for a few moments before looking at Lucy again. "S-so... does that mean I-i can come over too?..."

Nuime merely nodded slightly and straightened up so she could walk. She glanced back at Jakob and Lucy but she didn't answer Jakob's question. Instead, she merely headed for the truck.
