Oh good, he agreed with.. a lot of words. She was too tired for so many words. "Congrats again," she said with a smile as she moved Luc onto the bed near her pillow before moving closer to that side, reaching into the top drawer of the short dresser to find her small movie collection. "So you got everything moved in already. Do you have a partner yet?" She asked as she pulled out the small assortment of DVDs and offered them to him. "Here, you can pick. I don't have that much, so if you want something else you'll have to go find it in the rec room," she said with a shrug, then grabbed the remote and scooted back to lean against the wall.
Buying a TV and putting it within reaching distance from her bed had been a brilliant idea.
Zeus thought so too.

"Mmmh." Sitting down on the edge of the bed again Aulus sorted through the dvds, eventually picking a superhero movie more or less at random; all of them looked pretty inoffensive. "This one looks fine," he said aloud, "never did get around to seeing it when it was out in cinemas." Opening the box he lent over to the TV and turned it on before putting the dvd in.
"I do have a partner," he nodded, settling back down, "haven't met him yet though and I can't remember his name. Hugh or something I think? I expect I'll meet him before long, bathroom looks pretty clean at least so that's a good start between us."
Humm. He should probably turn the light off now, assuming Claire wanted it off. "Uh, shall I turn the light off or what?" There, innocent question, and he'd go with whatever she said.

"Okay," she said passively when he picked out a movie and put it in; she didn't really care what he picked. It was sort of funny that horrible nightmares just made her want to sleep more. Except not. "Hugh?" Her brows furrowed momentarily in thought. "Nobody I know," she shrugged. Hopefully Aulus wouldn't get stuck with a bad partner, but at least (almost) every agent had somehow proven themselves competent enough to earn that promotion.
Claire hummed thoughtfully at his question as she put a pillow behind her to lean on, then pulled Luc back into her lap. "Probably, it usually puts a glare on the screen anyway." That and bright lights hurt her eyes at the moment.
She was obviously not thinking about the connotations of watching a movie in the dark on her bed with Aulus and her bedroom door locked.

"Okay," Aulus agreed casually, getting to his feet again and moving across the room to press the light switch. Now it was dark. No s**t. Well there hadn't been anything he'd spotted on the floor to fall over, so just walk back across the room...andsitdownonthebedwithClaireinthedark. Gnurg. Shaking himself mentally Aulus did so, although he didn't sit too close to Claire, in fact he sat quite close to the edge. He felt stupid sitting there, and so he shuffled a bit further onto the bed. Not much though. Anyway, he probably ought to say something now before the movie started because sitting in silence was stupid too. "Uh, got another pillow there?" Well thank Arceus for that, something sensible!

"Mm? Oh, yes," she said, grabbing another pillow and offering it to him absently. "I always have two." She liked having a lot of pillows, but she had a lot of pokemon that slept on her bed so she supposed she didn't need too many.
Anyway, she was too busy messing with the remote to think about pillows. Her brow furrowed slightly as she leaned forward a bit, tilting the remote towards the tv to see which button was which. "Still can't remember where all the buttons are..." Then again, it was only a few months old... Ah, there. Her expression cleared as she leaned back and curled up with Luc, pushing the button she'd found to skip through all the extra stuff to get to the menu faster, then selected the 'play movie' option.

Why did Claire always have two pillows? Who else was using one? Meh, it was probably just a woman thing, they seemed to need far more cushions and other items of soft furnishing than any man. Well, any man save the kind who did fabulous interior decor and, possibly was known as Mitzy on the weekends.
“Thanks,” Aulus shoved the pillow behind his back and settled down, forcing himself to focus on the TV rather than on Claire. She was wearing pyjamas and no bra. Anything else she wasn’t wearing?... OhArcuesfocusontheTV. Giving himself a mental shake Aulus studied the opening credits as if they were the most fascinating thing in the world. “Hu. Should I have got us snacks or something?” he wondered aloud. Something extra to concentrate on would be welcome, it was hard to feel too gnurgh when you were eating copious quantities of, for say, nachos; nachos just weren’t sexy.

In Claire's instance, it was simply 'just a woman thing' - she liked having more than one, but the size of her bed prevented her from having too many. Thus, why she almost always had two. "Mhmm," she replied before yawning into the palm of her hand. "I don't need anything, but you can get something if you want. Umm.. I have a few things here, though it isn't much.. A couple bottles of water, a bag of chips, some chocolate, a-- no Zeus," she said with a frown to the wide-eyed chubby Pikachu who had suddenly appeared next to her as if by magic.
He huffed, ears flicking back before waddling back to the end of the bed where he flopped down with a dramatic sigh.
Claire rolled her eyes before offering Aulus a small smile. "You're welcome to any of that, if you want, but if you want anything else you'd have to find it yourself." So long as he came back not too long afterward - she didn't want to be left alone in the dark.
..freaking Arceus, she felt like such a little kid right now...

Damn. He really wanted nachos now but he couldn't be bothered to move.... Ah, now there was an idea! "Can I borrow your communicator?" Aulus asked, adding; "Thanks," at an affirmative gesture from Claire. Grabbing it from beside the TV he tapped in his own details, hit call, and waited.
"Charrrrr?"
"Alright there Char?"
"Charr!"
"Good, good. Hey, look, can you make me some nachos? Tortilla chips - I know I've got some - chopped tomatoes mixed with spice over that, cheese over that, under the grill until the cheese melts. You should be able to find the rest of the stuff in the kitchens."
"...Meleon?"
"I have no idea what you just said. Bring it all up to Claire's room please, oh and fetch me a beer too."
"Char char?"
"I still can't understand you. Just bring it all up, okay?"
"...Char."
The line went dead, and Aulus set the device back down where he'd found it. "Well, I guess we'll soon see how well communication was achieved," he said with a grin.

Artemis perked up at the sound of Char's voice, but couldn't see him anywhere. The poor Growlithe looked horribly confused as she shuffled over to Aulus, whuffling at the 'dex. How did Char get in there? "Grawu?"
Claire smiled, watching out of the corner of her eye, but focusing mostly on the TV. The mention of beer, however, made her eyes dart to the 'dex momentarily before sliding them back to the movie. It was just one, there was no harm in just one, was there..? No, of course not. That was just silly.
"He seems very intelligent," even moreso than Zeus, who was quite clever in his own right despite his frustrating habits and cravings. Despite the mention of the can of alcohol, she smiled. Whether it was genuine or not was another matter entirely - another matter that was hard to discern due to her secretive nature and the lack of lighting in the room. "I'm sure he'll get it," though she personally hoped he'd forget the beer.

"Yea," Aulus nodded, "I reckon he's as smart as you or me, easily the smartest of my pokemon." He had a good bond with Tortie, and she understood him in general but there was something about Char, a certain... a certain spark in those odd eyes. He understood every word, and seemed to live to serve. Sometimes he wondered if he was taking advantage of the fire type, but if serving was what made him happy then who was he to argue?
"If you do want anything from downstairs he might well have taken my communicator," Aulus went on with a glance to Claire. "I can always give him another call if you like."

Claire nodded as well. "Zeus is my smartest too, I think, though you wouldn't guess it," she said with a sly glance from the corner of her eye in time to hear a soft, halfhearted growl from the Pikachu in question. With a quiet, amused noise she turned her head slightly to glance at the rest of her pokemon. ..no, Zeus was definitely the smartest of the lot. Not a genius, by any means, as he'd so often proven with his behavior and actions, but still relatively smart.
"Hm? Oh, no, I'm fine," she said with a shake of her head. "I don't need anything." Besides, she was too sleepy to eat.

“Na, doesn’t surprise me,” Aulus grinned, “he’s proved to me he’s bright.... Except when faced with a fountain filled with certain substances.” How long ago had that been now? Half a year? It felt like longer, he almost felt as if he’d been in Team Rocket forever. “I can’t believe I used to call you Lucy,” Aulus added absently, “doesn’t suit you at all.” Would he say that about the name Claire one day if he found out what she was really called?...
He had two choices here, Aulus supposed as he rubbed at the scar on his face that had decided to start itching. Option one was to worry again about who she really was and whether or not she had any ulterior motives for being friendly to him. Option two was to relax and enjoy the evening, to trust her. Option two sounded like a lot more fun, and he couldn’t let one bad experience persuade him never to trust women ever again now could he? Well, he could, he had been. Not trusting certainly kept you from being hurt but it kept you from being happy too. Even if Claire (or whoever she was) never returned his feelings (whatever they were) they could be friends and he could trust her. While that was still easier said than completely done at least now he was letting go of the bulk of his paranoia; she wasn’t out to deliberately hurt him, of that much he was certain.
Almost certain.

She couldn't help but chuckle at the memory. "Yeah, that seems to be his one weakness." A weakness for which he'd apparently be suicidal over, the little idiot that he was. Oh well, at least she'd learned to never let him loose around chocolate fountains.
"You don't think so?" She asked, eyebrows raised as she turned to look at him for some moments before she focused on the screen again. Not that she was actually paying attention to it at the moment. "I guess not like this," the agent said with a slight shrug and a mildly perplexed furrow of her brow. It was.. actually sort of sad, now that she thought about it. She'd only been known as Claire for.. a little over a year now? No, it had to be almost a year and a half at this point.. Almost but not quite. Had it really been that long ago...?

"Not really," Aulus shrugged eloquently again, "but maybe that's just because I know you as Claire now. I'm sure if you'd still been Lucy it would have sounded fine." While that was mostly true, for once Aulus had the sense not to voice his real opinion on the matter, which was that so far as he was concerned Lucy sounded pretty drab. Claire on the other hand... well there was something to it; it wasn't too weird - not like his own name, or the name he used at any rate - just a bit more interesting than Lucy. Lucy for some reason brought to mind either little girls in pink, or middle aged women who did bake sales. Claire was more... exciting. None of that made any sense whatsoever though, so he was glad he hadn't voiced it.
Just as Aulus' strange and rambling train of thought was coming into the terminus station, a polite knock at the door announced the arrival of snacks. Shooting Claire a brief smile Aulus got off the bed again and moved across the room to open the door. Light from the corridor spilled in making him squint, but he could see enough to take in the tray that was being held up to him. "Thanks Char," he nodded as he accepted it, "I don't think I'll need anything else. Don't know when I'll be back, we might watch more than one movie, so don't wait up."
"Charr." Giving a brief bow and a nod of acknowledgement the very well-behaved fire type turned away and set off down the hall.
"Nachos!" Aulus grinned as he shoved the door shut, moved across the room to sit down on the bed again, and inspected the fresh delicious cheesy spicy snack. "That Char really was a good f-"
There was a miniature vase with a single purple flower in it on the tray.
Aulus stared at it.
The flower did not stare back, and much to his disappointment it didn't just vanish either.
There were other little touches too, namely: two cloth napkins, a couple of additional dips, a glass with beer in it rather than just a can, and one with water in it. Aulus did not notice these touches, he was still busy noticing the flower and wondering how exactly he was going to explain his displeasure to Char later on. "Uh... That Charmeleon has a real sense of occasion just for nachos hu? Ahaha. Ha." A sodding flower!

"Mm.. true," she relented, slipping her fingers through her hair and pulling a few locks forward to study it with a small frown as he answered the door. "Well, to be fair it was my mom's idea to use Lucy as a nickname," she said after some moments, expression clearing again, "since...--" vague hand gestures, "-- well, since before I can remember."
She didn't look up until he abruptly stopped mid-sentence, and quite opposite to his reaction, an incredibly amused smile - which she was trying, and failing miserably, to stifle - was slowly forming on her face. With a tactful cough she reached up to gently scratch one finger on her cheek, obscuring her mouth and forcing the grin into a small smile. "It seems he does," she agreed, trying not to giggle at it.
Any significant meaning that had been attached to it went completely over her head.
