Mot was motivated to beat Shun. He would save Mitsu first. He would save her better. "Looks like it." Mot seemed to calm down slightly after hearing Xiu pipe up, smiling kindly at her. The atmosphere suddenly thinned out, not quite as dark and suffocating as it had been.

The reaper led the way out of the barn, and again they found themselves in a small village. Although it was night time, torches lit the pathways around town. Torches with flames shaped like jack-o-lanterns, their forms flickering wildly in the breeze.

The town was quiet. Eerily quiet. There was no sign of Shun.

The further they walked through town, a voice began to faintly emanate from the distance. A saloon's windows glowed with light. A rowdy patron seemed to be ordering someone around.
"I think someone is here." Mot whispered to Xiu, patting her shoulder. "Stay behind me. I don't want you to get hurt."

Inside, a gnome dressed like a cowboy seemed to be drunk as a skunk, standing on top of a bar stool. He was ordering around a ghoul with brilliantly white hair, dressed in delicate silk.
It was Mitsu. Chained to the bar and forced to serve the gnome drink after drink. Mot pointed his gun at the ceiling and fired a few shots, scaring the gnome so badly he fell from his chair. Mitsu also had a fright, ducking under the bar.

"Party is over, scumbag!" Mot announced in a booming voice. "Reach for the skies!" The second pistol he had given Xiu another town ago was in his hand, now pointed at the gnome. "Xiu, get Mitsu outside."

Mitsu, cowering behind the bar, had her eyes fixated on a set of keys... hanging from a ceiling fan.

The Baku's tense shoulders relaxed slightly when the dark atmosphere dispersed some. What had that been about, she wondered? Though curious, she pushed this to the back of her mind when Mot began to walk out of the barn and, obediently, she turned to follow.

By this point, Xiu was honestly impressed by the detail of Mot's dreams. Before she had learned how to dream lucidly, she had been told that her dreams were a jumble of weird things that made no sense. There were doors that appeared at random, things that would suddenly change if one were to look away and then back, and even strange inconsistencies like a circle of never-ending stairs. So far, it looked as if the cowboil's dreams were not nearly as jumbled as hers had been.

Her ears pricked up when she picked up on the voice. Nodding at Mot, she pulled in her arms and followed him nervously, resisting the urge to reach out and grasp the back of the reaper's coat like a child. As she followed him into the saloon, Xiu's attention immediately turned to a familiar white-haired figure.

She was a little disturbed with herself when her first thought was Princess! instead of Mitsu!

While Mot was dealing with the gnome, Xiu rushed over and tried to grab Mitsu's hand to pull her outside. However, it was only then that she realized the lycan was chained to the bar, and that the keys...well, actually, Mitsu's gaze was fixated on the keys right now. The keys that were all the way up on the ceiling fan.

...Oh, Mot. You just had to dream up this situation to be harder than it had to be. Moving out from around the bar, Xiu clambered onto the table that was beneath the fan, holding her hand up and straining to grab the object. If only this uncomfortably puffy dress could help her fly, or something.

Mot watched from the corner of his eye as Xiu struggled to get the keys. "Is it too far?!" Maybe he should do it instead...

Funny that Xiu would wish such a thing. While her dress did not enable flight, some odd things began to happen. The orderly flow of the dream turned upside down just then,

Literally.

With a loud groan from the building, the whole room seemed to turn, flipping onto it's ceiling. Mot yelped and 'fell' from the floor and onto the ceiling above. The gnome had grabbed onto the bar, clinging for dear life. Mitsu almost fell from the floor too, but the chain around her leg tethered her, leaving her to hang from her foot, flailing in a panic. "Eyaaaa!" The ghoul struggled to keep her dress from lifting past anything indecent. The gnome, being the perv he was, tried to get a peek but ended up letting go of the bar in the process, flying outside through a sunroof.

Where he ended up was a mystery.

The keys still hung from the ceiling fan, in much closer reach.

"Mitsu! It's okay!" Mot stood wearily on the ceiling, the whole room creaking like it was a boat that had capsized. Mitsu whimpered, still hanging from her foot, her hair touching the cieling. So close to freedom yet so far.
"MITSU?! You fiends, what have you done?" Shun had poked his head through the sun roof, staring down at the wolf ghoul. "I'll get you out of--AAH" The reaper slipped and fell inside, onto the ground below.

But...

How...

Oh well.
PostPosted: Mon Sep 26, 2011 8:48 pm

This was noooot what she meant!

Despite the fact that she was falling, Xiu's first instinct seemed to be the same as Mitsu's--keep her legs together, push her skirt down, and make sure to keep herself decent. In the end, she had let of her of skirt so that she could reach out and try to soften her fall (because no one wanted to land on their face), but only at the very last possible moment.

Groaning, Xiu quickly pushed herself to her feet, intending on grabbing the keys and freeing the poor distressed lycan who was hanging by her foot. Since they were in reach now, the Baku was able to grab the keys and scramble on top of something so that she could slide the key into the shackle's lock. Only, she didn't turn the key to free Mitsu quite yet.

"Mot! I need you to catch her when I do thi--oh, hello anik--..." Xiu stared blankly at Shun, and then shook her head. Looking back to Mot, she gestured towards Mitsu. "Ready?" Once Mot (or Shun--either or) was below Mitsu, the Baku undid the shackle.

"I'm on it." Mot stood below Mitsu, ready to catch her at any moment. The ghoul seemed absolutely panicked. "N-no! I-If I fall I might hur--WAAA-----YEEE!!!" The ghoul fell into Mot's arms, upside down. Mot turned his head away as to not glimpse anything he shouldn't, turning her upright and letting her stand on her own two feet.

Mitsu bowed over and over, blushing a bright red colour. "I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry! I-I didn't mean to cause you both any trouble.." Mot chuckled and waved his hand. "It's all right, little lady. You're safe and free to go."

The soft spoken lupine fidgeted with his clasped hands in front of her. "Th-thank you both.. however.." Mitsu shifted her shoulders, looking down at the 'floor' below them at the twitching body of Shun. "I...I have business here.. and well... I think the princess you are searching for is in another town..?"

Again with that? Mot sighed and rubbed his neck. "How much farther now, I wonder.."

The scenery faded away into darkness.

~~~
A dank, cold dungeon of sorts. The western theme seemed to have died altogether. Steam shot out of intertwining pipes that ran across the ceiling of a series of tunnels. Mot didn't feel good about this at all. "Xiu?" He asked uncertainly, hoping the Baku hadn't disappeared on him like she had in phase two of the dream.
PostPosted: Wed Sep 28, 2011 12:23 am
Oh, poor Mitsu! It was a good thing she had waited until Mot was capable of catching her before letting her free, though! ...And it was also good that the cowboil had the decency to look away when he caught her. He was much more gentlemanly then some of their male peers, that was for certain.
Xiu was happy to see that the lycan was perfectly fine, through her ears drooped slightly as the familiar phrase left the saved princess' lips. She was the wrong princess? Again? That was already...two of six off the list, wasn't it? Or it could have been seven--by this point, the Baku had already lost track. "Who is this princess that you're searching for anyways, Mo--!"
Unfortunately, she was unable to finish her question when the scene faded out again. Another wrong princess, another new scene to rescue the next one they came across. Hopefully this one would be the right one!
As the setting formed around them, Xiu shivered at the drastic change with this place compared to the previous ones. Before she could dwell on it for too long, she heard Mot's voice come from in front of her. "I'm here!" Reaching out, she grasped the tail of Mot's coat like a child would, afraid that they would be separated if she didn't hang on.
She definitely didn't want to get lost in here alone.
Oh good. Xiu was there. Mot sighed and set his hands on the ghoul's shoulders. "I think I know this place. It's definitely dangerous to be here. Stick close." The reaper turned again and began his trip through the tunnels. He seemed to know exactly where he was going.
There was soon a cluttered room. It had many strange beakers and bottles of liquids, containers of parts and pieces belonging to various species. A male in a white lab coat and goggles was busy cleaning his blades and devices at a workbench, his long messy hair pulled into a high ponytail.
On the wall was Hel, tethered to bolts with leather straps. She was also in full battle armour.
"MOT!" She yelled, wiggling herself around recklessly. "TELL YOUR INSANE FATHER I AM NOT A BIRD TO BE DISSECTED!" The Valkyrie seemed absolutely livid, less like a damsel and more like a caged beast.
Mot's father simply grinned devilishly. "Such a noisy specimen."
"Hel!" Xiu's eyes widened in horror at the sight of their friend strapped securely to the wall. Getting go of her hold on Mot's coat tail, the Baku took a step forward. "L-let go of her, you crazy--"
--...waaait. Father? This was Mot's father?
Oops.
Xiu swallowed what she had been able to say, shrinking back slightly as she stared back and forth between the cowboil and his father. Well, she supposed that she could see the resembalence, but--no. That wasn't why they were here. They were here to save Hel! Only now that she knew that her kidnapper was Mot's father, how were they going to save her? She certainly doubted that Mot would shoot at his own father!
Xiu was wrong again.
No sooner had Mot's father turned around did two bullets fly past him and hit the straps holding Hel up. Mot stood silently. No words, barely a breath. "Oops. I missed."
"GYAH!" Hel flopped the floor with a clank. The necromancer stared through opaque goggles at Mot and Xiu with a quirked eyebrow. "Huh? What was thaaat for? Can't you see I'm busy?" The Necromancer sighed heavily, gripping the table and leaning over. "My work is important to me. A child like you would never understand."
Hel stood up, and rather than run away, she punched Mot's father in the back of the head. "I AM A GREAT WARRIOR! A PRINCESS OF WAR! FIGHT ME FAIRLY, LECH!"
Mot's father's head bounced comically off of the table when hit, and he crumbled to the floor.
Hel huffed, kicking the lump of scientist on the ground.
Mot had no idea what to do or say. In fact, his uncertainty was making the dream flicker.... like static.
PostPosted: Sat Oct 01, 2011 2:17 pm
...Did Mot really just...
W-well! At least Hel was free now! Xiu knew that this wasn't the time or place to ask the cowboil what his relationship with his father was (if he would shoot so freely while the man in question could have been hit, and...apparently could have been the true target), so she bit back her questions for now. Now, to...save the princess?
Or not.
Xiu realized that, true to the waking world, Hel could probably take perfectly good care of herself. Her mouth hung open as the the Valkyrie landed a punch in the back of the man's head, followed this up by kicking him. Yes indeed, it certainly seemed like they wouldn't need to help her after all. When the dream flickered, however, the Baku glanced up in alarm. What was--aah.
Time to wake up? Or..."Hel, are you the princess we're trying to save?"
Hel raised a brow as she slung Mot's father over her shoulder like some kind of hunting game. "Eh? No at all! I am not the sissy Princess he wants." The Valkyrie snapped with scorn, spitting on the ground. She seemed almost disjointed, or disappointed.
"His precious Princess is in another town." The ghoul then grinned, her eyes glinting with smugness. "Not that he can have her anyway."
The room suddenly turned red. It crumbled. Crumbling and falling to peices. Hel took to the skies, while Mot cursed and took hold of Xiu. "Hang on!" The reaper held the baku protectively as the piece of floor they had been standing on began to fall.
PostPosted: Sat Oct 01, 2011 4:54 pm
She was a little startled by Hel's reaction, but it was the last thing she said that confused the Baku the most. "Can't...have her?" She echoed, tilting her head in confusion. Did that mean that she couldn't be saved, or was that...an unconscious part of Mot's mind speaking through the dream Valkyrie?
As usual, before she could dwell on this matter for long, the room began to crumble around them. Yelping, Xiu obediently clung to Mot as the floor they stood on began to follow the rest of the pieces. What was going on?
Were they finally going to run into the princess that Mot was trying to save?
The Princess had already been saved.
Atop a castle's tower, Lizzy danced with Mac. Both of them dressed to the nines.
Atop the tower, all was well.
Calm.
Almost romantic.
Where Mot and Xiu stood, way down below on a block of concrete, they was surrounded by red hot coals. Fields of them. The air was thick, and there seemed no way out. A wicked cackling faintly echoed int he distance. A woman in black, her features not quite visible from the distance they were at, hovered above the pair. "Wake up, boil. You've no time for silly games." A cold sneer formed on her blurry features. "Silly childish dreaming ended when you were five. Grow up."
Lightning crashed down.
Mot woke up with a start.
PostPosted: Sat Oct 01, 2011 5:31 pm
The Baku was hit with a bit of realization as she stared up at Lizzy and Mac, her mouth making an "o" shape. So then, did Mot perhaps...?
The question still lingered on her mind even as she was sharply jerked out of the dream upon Mot's awakening. When she opened her eyes next, she was back in her body, sitting in the same place she had been before entering the reaper's dream. With a little groan, she pushed herself up onto her feet, her gaze shifting to Mot.
"A-are you okay?"
Huh? Had he fallen asleep? How long was he out? He didn't feel... rested. Not at all. The reaper sat up with a groan, rubbing his eyes. His hat was of course still on his head, by some miracle of science.
"Hm?" Mot looked over at Xiu. "Oh, sorry I forgot you were here... uh, not really. I feel kind of worn out." He chuckled, sounding a bit tired. "I don't remember dreaming anything. Did I?" She would know, after all. Gosh, if he hadn't dreamed anything then poor Xiu wasted her time.
