Seth caught the glint of light on glass out of the corner of his eye, just as the sculpture began to fall. He quickly looked just in time to see the figure hit the floor. Since it was carpet, the figurine didn't outright shatter like it would have on a hard floor, but one of the wings did snap off.

The Executive was on his feet in an instant, his blue gaze going from the glass dragon to the reason why it fell. Izaya was leveled with one of the most terrible glares that the man could muster. His eyes practically turning red as anger flashed within them. Fists clenched on top of his desk and Seth gritted his teeth. Wrenching his eyes shut, his brow twitched several times as he made an effort to control the rage boiling within. If there was anything that could defeat Seth's anger, it was his own stubbornness. However, he barely seemed to have a hold of it as a low growl rolled in his throat.

"Get. The HELL. Out of my office!" He spoke in a seething tone, as if he was on the verge of leaping over the desk and throttling the grunt himself. Really.. did Izaya -want- to die? If not, then some higher power must have it out for him.

Faleen froze, standing with a hand to her mouth when she saw the figurine from the shelf, get bumped off when Izaya tried to bow.

It would take a genius to see that Seth was probably about ready to kill the Grunt, so when he spoke in a chilling voice, barely holding back the rage he was capable of, Faleen knew it was best to not dawdle there.

Even with as uncertain as she was about the idea of partnering with Izaya, that didn't mean she wanted her newly assigned partner dead before they even left the room.
"Orihara-" She spoke, very pointedly, and with a edge of urgency. Reaching a gloved hand out to touch his elbow.
"Don't say anything, just move." her voice was hushed, and quick.

While one would normally apologize, in an instants like this it was best to just leave. Giving Seth more of a reason to speak, or look at the grunt would only make things worse at this point.
If Izaya didn't start moving in the next second, the Agent was prepared to half pull Izaya out if she had to. Get him out of the room, and close the door to leave Seth alone, more importantly, away from the grunt.

Aaaaand that appeared to be the extent of Seth's patience. Grunt Orihara decided it was probably not wise to push the executive any further if he valued his life. Which, contrary to his actions, he did most dearly.

So, though he had been half ready to lean down and pick up the fallen figure, the grunt straightened up, stiff as a board with his arms at his sides. Not needing any more encouragement than Faleen's urgent touch and Seth's glare of impending doom, Izaya gave a brisk nod once and hurried out of the room as fast as he could humanly manage.

He wanted to live. He needed to get out of the office and off the fifth floor in the next few minutes if he wished to remain alive. That much he understood. The concern that the usually calm, poised Faleen had shown had been enough of an indicator, even if Seth's rage seemed usual. He didn't dare speak as he hurried to the elevators in a power walk, trusting his new partner would be close behind.

That must have been a pretty special figurine for the executive to hold such value in it - possibly even sentimental. No one but Izaya would ever know if the 'accident' had truly been just that...or maybe a bit of vengeance for a favored, torn-up parka.

Seth's glare followed Izaya until he was finally out of the room. At least Faleen had the sense to quickly usher him out. There was no shouting or throwing of objects as the pair swiftly left. But once they were gone, the Executive straightened up and walked around his desk to the bookcase where the fallen sculpture was. With a heavy sigh, he bent down and picked up the dragon that was now in two pieces.

It would never look the same, but it could be repaired with a bit of superglue. Carefully he placed the two pieces back on the shelf. He would have to get some glue and fix it later.

And Izaya was out of there, no dragging necessary on her part, and to her relief, no words either.
She made sure the door was closed behind them, and by the time she looked up and down the hall in the direction of the lift, Izaya was still briskly walking, already halfway to the lift.

She didn't blame him really, when Seth looked at you like that, it was usually the first thought in everyone's mind.
Lengthening her stride, as she tried to quickly catch up to him, not wanting to be left behind, when he called the lift up.

The Agent just barely managed to step in as the doors were getting ready to close, breathing a light sigh as she took up a stance to help with the movement of the elevator, boots shoulder length apart, hands taking up their usual position, folded behind her back.

Well... now what? She thought to herself, eyes shifting to the side to cast a glance over to Izaya.

She had a partner now... but as she thought about it, she didn't even know what to really do from here. After the little accident in Seth's office, this did not bode well to how missions might be treated if he was being that careful already, or at least thats what she assumed.

Regardless, everyone needed to start somewhere, and it would be both of their jobs to make sure they worked better as a team, especially when things get sticky.

She let these thoughts play through her mind for most of the trip down the lift, letting the silence linger. Trying to give herself a better idea of what to really say.. or where to go from here.

Finally, she turned to Izaya as the lift slowed.
"Well... I have to report to robotics till later this evening, but it seems we have a few things to discuss... what is your schedule for today?"

Once inside the lift, the grunt caught Faleen's gaze and returned it with a neutral one of his own. He looked away again as she did, staring straight ahead for the majority of the trip until the agent broke the silence with her own words. Choosing to act as if the incident with the glass figure had never occurred, he folded his hand behind his back and regarded her seriously.

"Not much," he answered with a slight shrug of his shoulders. "Usual grunt duties...cleaning, filing, writing, reporting, cooking, washing, guarding, training...though I do have ample time to get those done in, so if you have a specific time and place for me, I can be sure to meet you there."

Izaya took a deep breath, his chest visibly rising as his diaphragm expanded, before letting it all out in a slow exhale. "Faleen-san," he said after a while, going back to looking straight ahead, "I know neither you nor I seem to have all that much a desire to work with others. However...your expertise in pokemon and robotics combined with mine in human behavior might prove to be advantageous to us yet."

He continued to stare forward, as if purposefully avoiding having to look at her. "I'd like to think that Executive Seth might have done us a favor in some small way, whether or not he meant to or gave those particular talents of ours some thought." As the lift slowed and stopped, the informant rolled back his shoulders and neck, as if stretching some tense muscles before waiting politely for Faleen to leave the confined space first. "That said, I hope you'll believe me when I tell you I'll do my best to be a good partner, regardless of my opinions of Seth's decision."

What had happened back in the office didn't need commentary from her end, she's sure he knew what he did, and would likely suffer the consequences.
That would happen through Seth though, not her.

Her expression took on a softer look to it by the explanation from Izaya, recounting duties that were typical for a Grunt level.
She remembered those tedious tasks, and the frustrations of those times. At the same time, understanding the necessity of them.
Faleen did figure it would be up to her, whenever she got off her duty would be the best opportunity they had for the evening.
It would be much more difficult to work around Faleen's usually very busy schedule, then it would be to work around his.

She was about to say this much when he continued.

Not expecting what came next, the engineer turned to look at him, eyebrows arched as he spoke.
It was no secret that Izaya was good with words when he wanted to be. It was easily the most dangerous quality the man possessed,
and Faleen did not always trust words.
Even so, she wasn't about to give up his chance to show that he meant those words.
And besides... there was a part of what he was saying that she agreed with. considering each of their strengths and weaknesses, this could be a very balanced partnership, even Faleen could admit that, and she had no doubt that it was something considered by Seth.

Faleen stepped out of the lift, leaving enough room for Izaya to follow, before pausing and turning back to him. It was here that she finally spoke.
"I don't doubt that there is much we can learn from one another, and despite my own misgivings, I can promise the same thing to you Izaya."
She shifted her weight, Whats done was done, she could feel as uncertain about having a partner as she wanted, but this is how things were going to be, she accepted that.
"I told Seth I wouldn't let him down, but the same sentiment is extended to you."
As ever, Faleen was professional, yet sincere. She didn't WANT this grunt to fail, she never did, if this could help him get prepared for promotion, and missions and dealing with League and Galactics and legendary with wild pokemon then it would be worth it.

"I will aim to clock off duty before eleven tonight, will that be to late?"

Stepping out after Faleen, the grunt removed his cap and turned it around in his hands, as if inspecting it. "Thank you," he answered simply. "I'm still amazed at how equally you seem to treat your fellow Rockets, no matter their rank - " Izaya tilted his head up to look at her at last, a small smirk resting on his lips, "- or reputation."

If there was anyone who seemed free of the judgement of others in this place, Orihara thought it was Faleen. Though, he thought, that could have been attributed to the theory that she saw humans as all the same and uninteresting - much like people would treat robots all the same because they found them to all be uninteresting and thus didn't bother to tell the difference. Either way, it was nice to be treated with some normalcy.

"Perfect. I should be done with all my chores by then, and with luck, Celty will have Hypnosis'd the twins to sleep." He drew out his Rocket 'dex to mark the time on his schedule. "We can meet at the cafe, if you like. It should be pretty deserted."

She blinked once at the glance, and slight smirk of his that followed the comment.
"Reputation seems to be an irrelevant factor to worry about to much when it comes to being a team, especially so when it involves this particular team."
She offered a slight shrug of her shoulder.
She had her own views on the subject, a reason to act the way she did, but she had robots to build, and design.

A soft smile worked over her face when the plans were decided on, and she nodded.
She assumed that the twins meant the two Purrloin that he had gotten from his sisters back in the City, she wondered how those two were doing.
"In the Cafe, till then Izaya, have a good shift."
And with that, the Agent turned, and made her way to the lower parts of the HQ to get to work.
She would have a lot to think about during her duties though.
