Mot frowned slightly, patting her arm sympathetically. "I'm sorry to hear that."
But if they were broken up, and Shehk was fighting to bring them back together, that meant she held very strong feelings for him? Did Nuk not feel the same? It was just so sad! "Maybe, he needs to hear it? Why was it you both separated to begin with?"

"I'm not sure...... I guess he...doubted me." she answered with a sigh. "I mean...communication? I just..I don't know what it was that made it happen. I didn't want it. I really didn't want it." She could still remember how many angry things she'd yelled at him when the discussion happened.
She'd been angry.
It hadn't helped. But still.
"How do you tell someone after months of no contact that you still love them? I mean, without it being completely out of left field and awkward?" Gambling was much easier to deal with than silly emotional stuff.

"I imagine like anything else you can't beat around the bush about it if you want something badly." Mot mused softly.
"If you don't say how you feel, then how will they ever know? I imagine it would be hard if you felt strongly for someone, never having the luxury of hearing how they feel about you." It wasn't as if he knew from experience, but he could only imagine what it would be like. "I think after weeks of squirrels as presents, something like that wouldn't be totally out of left field."

Yeah..after lots of weeks of squirrels. Ever since she'd gotten back to school it had been nothing but squirrels, really. Okay, there'd been a chewed on rabbit once, but..still... They were related enough, right? Right???
She scratched at the seam across her face again, nervously.
"I...I guess..." she answered, seeming to not be as confident about that course of action as one who was pretty much trying to destroy herself with not-very-helpful hobbies should have been. "I mean....I guess....I'm afraid too. " Afraid of what? Making herself look like an idiot to the guy who had been calling her 'his' girl for months even before she'd broken down and fallen in love with him in turn?
This was stupid.
She was stupid and she was sort of feeling that way the more she thought about it.
"But I may not solve my problem if I don't do that, huh?" She mulled a bit, that tilting of the head returning as she thought about it. There was so much that could go wrong, and really...she didn't want to put herself out there if she didn't even have a chance.

"I'm sure its scary.. but you're right. Nothing will ever happen if you leave it alone. You said yourself you no longer want to hesitate." Mot used the ghoul's words against her again, giving a short smile to soften the blow. r maybe it made the blow worse.
"Waiting for him to make the move may not be the best course of action. That's another form of running away. Once you have an answer, good or bad, you'll be able to move on. It can go a few ways, sure. You may end up hurt, or you may end up ridiculously happy." Would Mot even take his own advice if he found himself in this situation? Rather than think about it was easier to deal the information rather than use it.
"I think its about time to take that hurdle. In a way, its even more dangerous than a game of slots. You're betting your heart on it."

Oh Phooey! This guy was a master of using her own words against her, now wasn't he? Shehk laughed a bit as the second use of her words against her was played. Save her from herself and not hesitating. Yeah, she had a lot to work on between her words and her actions, didn't she? What was it she'd told Decebal?
She wanted to live? Running away wasn't living. She'd established that, even if the image of that horrible mouth, dripping teeth, snarling..oh god, she didn't even want to think about it... she shook her head a bit to get the image out of it. Yick.
"I guess I can't get more hurt than I've already been...maybe..." Oh, she really did have a long ways to go with her confidence. Sort of interesting, really, how one stupid little emotion would wreck so much havoc on the rest of the psyche of a person like that. So much.
But..would it really change her that much? Would she be any different than the moping canine she was already, trying to get the attentions of one boil? Or maybe it would liberate her from that. There were a lot of possibilities. The only real certainty was that Shehk still seemed to have her doubts about it all.

Mot nodded slowly, tilting his head in thought for a moment. "It would bring closure, if nothing else." He looked down and smiled hopefully. Living in a world of what ifs was no way to live at all. It was just painful.
A simple little phrase that needed to be said, and whatever fear and doubt that stood in the way of that. Other than the fear of being hurt, what was left to stop her from doing this one thing? "Just go for it." He encouraged. "If you need a shoulder to cry on afterward, give me a shout. I may be a stranger, but I'm also a good listener." He put a finger to his lips to emphasize his next point. "And whatever you say to me can stay between us."

She could waffle about all day to put things off if she was allowed it. However, if she'd been allowed her way, she would have been still sitting at that silly slot machine. Not to say the idea of going back to it had left her. It just wasn't likely to happen in the near-ish future. Not until a certain Futakuchi onna was a bad influence on her.
Looking at Mot, Shehk quirked a brow at him, a slightly sneaky smile tugging on one corner of her lips. "That's a sneaky way to try and be rebound." Shehk teased, purposely bumping her hip against his side in as non-flirtatious of a way as she could possibly mention. Frankly, for strangers they were certainly being very hands-on.
Then again, Mot was warm. Shehk's cold-touch of death was very attracted to being in close proximity to warm bodies, so really who could blame her? First person to try it would probably be lynched for body heat.
"But I appreciate the offer, either way." she laughed. "If you ever need ghoul-advice I'm good for it too. I'm not quite as much of a ghoul as I could be, but.. the offer stands." Because most ghouls weren't squirrel chasers.

Mot laughed out loud at the rebound comment, grinning ear to ear. It was a good thing Shehk took it lightly; Mot only realized how it sounded when she pointed it out. Really, how clumsy his words could be sometimes. The playful hip bump being replied to with a careless smirk.
He liked this one. She could stick around for sure. Instant friend.
"Thanks for the offer. If there ever comes a time I desire to understand the opposite sex, I'll come running." As it stood he was content in his lack of knowledge regarding ghouls and their strange ways. Really, for the most part they weren't all that difficult to understand so far. "For now, I think I'm safe." His ghouly friends all seemed easy to read and understand so far, as diverse as they were in personality. Perhaps it was not such a problem because there was no romance involved that he knew of. That sort of thing seemed to complicate most circumstances.
Now then, what pleasant topics of conversation could the cowboil come up with next, anyway? It was difficult to come up with things out of thin air.

"I guess I could offer to talk to dogs too~" she added with a laugh. Oh, she still needed to sit down with Malodore and work on the 'speak with Luce' lessons they'd talked about nearly a year before on that train. Oh that train. That blasted train. She hoped it never came back. She never wanted to go back to that JOY filled place ever again.
"Though they're slightly easier to understand just from facial expressions.." Shehk paused and her ears twitched between several positions. "Ears are pretty expressive." she tugged on the tip of one of her own. "So probably not as needed. But hey, might as well offer what I've got man." she laughed.
"Guess I'm a tracker too. So that's an open option..." the pricolici added after a moment of mulling about. Hmm.... well, those three seemed to be the most prominent skills she had, at the very least.

"Does that count foxfires?" Mot asked jokingly with a laugh. FooFoo wasn't a whole lot of trouble, but he did enjoy being a handful when he was starved for attention.
"Mnn I've noticed that." Mitsu's ears told wonders that her hidden face did not show. And even FooFoo's little excuses for ears gave away his intentions.
"Tracking? That's a pretty nifty ability." Mot commented with a smirk. "Can't say I have much experience with it, though I can sense ghosts. If you're ever missing a ghostly pal, I can do that much." If they were talking talents and skills, that was probably not his favorite. He felt it to be rather useless, personally.

"It'd probably count foxfires, yeah." Shehk answered. She'd never actually attempte-....wait...she had attempted conversation with a FoxFire once. It had resulted in a tiny skittering panicked lil' minipet in her bedroom freaking out in the fog. Delightful little thing, but it certainly had a few issues once she got it OUT of her room.
Though ghosts..ghosts weren't really in her range of tracking. "Unfortunately, ghosts don't really have a scent, so I can't track them." she explained, scratching her nose. "But if it has any scent and I know what it is, I can follow most things. Useful for squirrels that like to hide. Or other little things that like to get lost. Nothing too fancy. I'm not like one of those wilderness men who can track someone for miles based on silly things like OH, THIS STICK WAS MOVED."
Shehk paused.
"If the stick was moved, it might have been me." she said, making a 'fetching' joke. However, she may have not been too receptive about actual fetching games. After all, she prided herself in not being a pet. In fact, she'd gotten a bit temperamental about it in the recent months. Probably because she'd been treated like one so much.
"But ghost tracking sounds pretty impressive if you can find a good context for it. Can't think of one off the top of my head, but eh. We're in school. Could be a whole job niche for it." she laughed a bit. "Frankly all I've got is a good nose. But that also means I can smell anything that is off in a general area. Not always helpful."
Especially if someone hadn't taken a bath in a week and had been rolling around in something rotting....

"That's not any job I ever want to have." Mot said with a dry chuckle. Hunting ghosts. How dull would that be? Sounded like a special ops unit of the Boogimen.
"Naw, you have more than a good nose going for you." Mot said with a wave of his hand. "Aside from a budding addiction to gambling, you seem to be decent company."

The first few notes of Ghost Busters formed in the back of Shehk's head, but she kept the thought to herself.
"Sometimes." she replied playfully, grinning enough to show off all four of her sharp teeth. "As long as you're not a squirrel and you're not bleeding I'm sure I'm pretty decent. Otherwise my reaction may be...less subtle." she mused, patting Mot's arm gently.
"But I'll just hope I never run across you in such a state to trigger bloodlust. That'd be sad." She reached up and brushed her fingers across his hat. "Might hurt your hat if that happened." she added with another teasing grin.

"Oh my!" Mot said with a chuckle. "You sound fesity, little lady." Note to Mot, don't bleed or be a rodent around Shehk!
"Oh. Not the hat~." Mot gasped, bring a fist to his mouth in a damsel like manner. He jested, but if something actually did happen to the hat, Mot was be sure to be upset. He had an emotional attachment to it that bordered unhealthy. "Trying to scare me off?" He teased lightly.
