Hacking away at the tentacles with a pointy rock didn't seem to be doing much good. The entire creature was composed of a bizarre malleable sponginess, like some mix between algae and tar, and Hephaistos's pointy-rock trick only left indents that would vanish a moment later.
And then there was an instant into which the senshi's stone would swing into thin air -- as the frigid tendrils began to shake everyone violently.
If you have at least one free hand or foot, you can try to grab or otherwise anchor onto one of the large bricks that's still nearby. Roll a D4 to make an attempt!
If you roll an odd number, you've managed to grab a hold of something. However, an even number means your grip wasn't so good -- and you went and got smacked right into someone else!
However, if you're bound by all four limbs, the force of being shaken is causing all manner of things to fall out of your pockets! Roll a D6 to determine what precious item you lose!
1: A lighter 2: A month-old receipt from IHOP 3: A book of matches 4: A small pile of assorted coupons 5: A laser pointer 6: A sampler-size bottle of orange vodka
For everyone who's completely free, you're going to have to get a little more resourceful in order to subdue this creature. Maybe you should grab whatever of the falling pocket treasures seems useful. You could also try and move some more bricks to clear a pathway to the "eye" of the beast -- just be quick and careful about it!

OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD.
THIS WASN'T FUNTIME.
If he hadn't powered up, he was pretty certain he'd be puking his dinner right now. As it was, he was starting to feel pretty damn queasy, but with all limbs bound, there was little he could do to end his forced joyride.
Didnt meant he wasn't trying, but all the tossing about knocked a book of matches out of the pocket of his trenchcoat.
Crap... He'd meant to drop that at Virgo's ! Too late.

Oh for the love of Serenity, Chronos had not expected this. Be flailed about like she was on one of those scary rides in theme parks she had always declined to go on was certainly not on her to do list. Then again, the Surrounding was getting to be quite unexpected these days...
With her free hand, she tried to reach out to grab one of the larger pieces of rubble so that she could haul herself to safety. Unfortunately, her grip slipped, and she smacked right into Hephaistos. "I'm sorry!" The Princess squeaked out as the tentacles holding on to her dragged her away. Even if she got her hand on her tiara, she was too dizzy to aim properly and it could very well hit someone else. That was not a chance Chronos was willing to take.
She could only try to pry the tentacle off her other arm, but it was too cold, as if it would very well give her frostbite if she left her hand on it too long.

Matches... matches looked promising, and possibly more effective than slippers and rocks, which didn't seem to affect it at all, and with most of the Senshi in the grip of the thrashing, shaking tentacles... someone had to do something.
The random assortment of slips of paper that came from the Princess were slightly more random seeming than a book of matches in a coat pocket, but also could be useful... if they could get the two of them together... if they could get to that 'eye'....
"Someone get those matches and... and I don't know, the coupons or something else that burns! Anyone that can get free, try and help me clear a path!"
It wasn't exactly like any cause she'd championed before. No School dillema that could be solved with staunch resolve, meetings and marches, and she certainly had no powers, magical or otherwise, like the Senshi did, but damn it, People needed her! It wasn't in her to let them down if she had anything to say about it, and with so many people tied up, Themis's otherwise reasonable orders for the civilians to keep back didn't make much sense all the sudden.
She lunged forward, trying to make sure to dodge her way through the tentacles, to start trying to rip up bricks and clear a path to the glowing eye. By herself she'd never be able to do this, but she was hoping for as much backup as the situation would allow, and praying that the healing at Virgo wouldn't fail her now.

Blarble blurble barllb bleerb.
Being shaken was not, as it turned out, as fun as it was on roller coasters or in situations where Grant had willingly entered into the arrangement. And though he tried to enjoy it, thinking it was some kind of set up and he didn't want to ruin all the effort someone had put into it, his head was beginning to hurt from the force of it.
He heard something clatter on the floor, glancing down in wonder. A bottle? When had he picked that up? Oh, he remembered. He had found it with some of the other drinks, thinking it was a cute little bottle of orange juice. He hadn't looked too closely at the cover, and after asking if he was allowed to take it and being given the okay by a knight that gave him a funny look for it, he pocketed the adorable bottle for later.
And had promptly forgotten about it.
It was a strange thing to draw his attention now, and he tried to watch what the others were doing, hoping things might be going better for them then it was for him. He heard someone yelling for help, but he could do little with his arms and legs caught as they were.
"You can do it!" He called reassuringly, with some pep as his voice as shaken by the thing that was still rattling him, "that's a great plan! Good job!" There was not a single ounce of sarcasm in his tone.

((First roll = Jade, second roll = Cora))
No matter how hard Jade tried to fight against strong, shaking force of icy tentactles, she found it impossible. It was hard to keep her on ground when her hands were tied and she had only her feet as her aid. So, after feeling a rather strong pull, Jade found herself sliding near the ground at the end of tendrils that kept doing their uncontrollable wriggling. She couldn't say she liked it much. She didn't like this chaos, this lack of control over her own body. And she didn't like the feeling to get smacked right againgst Joli's feet.
"Uh, sorry," Jade muttered just before she was sent away across the floor towards someone else. While she was sliding she noticed the bottle that was dropped from Grant. It was strange looking bottle, containing some orange liquid inside of it. Jade doubted it would be juice, the bottle looked too small and too exotic for that. Perhaps cologne?
"Hey. Check out if that liquid in the bottle is inflammable," she suggested to anyone who might hear her and be able to do that. Hadn't Joli just mentioned something about matches? Hmm. Maybe fire could work in these icy tentacles...
Cora wasn't any more capable to keep her still and on ground as anyone else. The poor cat girl was swung from her legs like some kind of ragdoll, crying outloud as she did so and finally got hit againgst Themis. The sound of their bodies crashing against each other was followed by a sound that could be easily imagined coming from a cat whose tail just got stepped on.
"I'm scared!!" Cora whined loudly while trying to grab on anything she could get her fingers around.
Her star marking on her forehead flickered once, warning of what might be coming next. No laser beam came out yet (luckily) but as panicked as the blonde cat girl was, how long she could keep herself controlled and not let her fear and defensive instict to take over?

"Why... won't! You! Let... her! Go!" He grunted with each swing towards the tendrils, each hit doing no more then the last. He brought the stone back one more time only to find the tendril was no longer there, instead it was thrashing about waving Chronos in the air like a rag doll. Turning back he watched as that strange eye seemed to linger on them. Everyone was being thrashed about, had he paid more attention he might have noticed Chronos just before she crashed into him sending him stumbling and tipping over.
"Ahu! Not your fault!" He shouted back as he scrambled to get back up. Once he was steady he glared at the mass of tentalces still waving the princess about. "Liquid Steel!" Calling on his Senshi power an orb of liquid metal formed floating just above his right hand a faint heat coming off of it just before he threw the sphere trying to cut Chronos free. Before turning to scoop up a pack of matches and follow after Holiday to clear the path. "I can try my attack on the eye, or we can burn it, but we have to move quick and still try and help the others free!" He shouted before shoving a chunk of stone to the side.

Hephaistos's Liquid Steel attack made a direct hit on the tendrils binding Chronos with the audible hiss of an incredible heat meeting up with an incredible cold. It was echoed by a similar, louder hiss from the shadow, as its frozen cold tentacles sloughed away into useless strings of ink and set the Zodiac free. The long strokes of shadow on the ground curled and crept away from the senshi of Steel as well, almost as if it were fearing another onslaught.
Then its surface began to bubble again. One by one each tendril unwrapped itself from its victims, receding into the increasingly uneven surface of its mass. There was a bizarre sound around them, almost as the entire construct were taking in an enormous breath of air... and a handful of bubbles appropriately began to expand, becoming much larger than the ones they had seen a moment ago.
It's preparing another attack. DO SOMETHING!!
Hephaistos must wait 2 more rounds until he has the energy to use his attack again.

"Thank you." Chronos gasped up at Hephaistos as the tentacles unraveled from her arm and leg, wiggling her limbs to rid herself of the cold. The Princess slowly scrambled to her feet, watching as the shadow released the others as well. "Are you all alright? Please stay back!" She directed this at the civilians and Cora; the other Senshi and her would figure out a way to destroy it. She did not make a movement towards her tiara, no, not when it was so close to the Temple. There had to be some other way to vanquish it!
...It hadn't seemed very happy when Hephaistos had hit it. The Princess glanced at the metal clad senshi once more, trying to recall what he had done. "Heat." She murmured. It made sense, seeing how chilly it was. Oh, if only Neso were here... Wait. Neso. That was it!
She summoned her staff, the butterfly gem on the end glowing slightly along with the brooch on her chest as she readied her attack. "Chronos Season Escalation!" Slowly, Summer descended upon them, and within the half a mile radius, it felt akin to a hot summer day. Even though the sun was far, far away from the Surrounding, they would feel as though bright sunlight was beating down on their backs.

Excessive heat, fire, heat hurts it!
When his sphere of heated metal sliced clean through the tentacle it confirmed exactly what they had to do in his mind; they need to reached the heart of the beast and strike it down with fire. Turning he offered a short wave to the princess in return for her thanks.
Instead he focused on moving ahead through the rubble, all around him the shadows seemed to shrink away and it only encouraged him to move quicker. "Burn the heretic. Kill the mutant. Purge the unclean! Fire is it's weakness!" Even as he pushed forward the world around him grew warm and hot as the Princess used her own power.
With the packet of matches he continued onward, stopping long enough to give Jade half of the matches and book to light them as she was freed "Get these to Themis, or work with him, you have a bottle of Vodka and the two of those will make a nasty burst of fire."
Again he moved ahead brandishing his matches ready to strike them on the stones around him to start a flame hoping to get closer to the 'eye' while it was still very much afraid of him.

Grant was very glad to be freed, but he didn't have much to do. He wanted to help, and he scrambled to the aid of the senshi that seemed to be giving orders.
"Thank you for hitting it! You freed me, I think! Is there anything I can do to help you?" He asked generously, his expression reading that he would literally accept any task set before him.
If it helped everyone else, or just one person, he would do it.
His legs and arms felt a bit wibbly, but they were quickly regaining their usual functions. He looked to see the princess he was growing fond of, and marveled at the magic she seemed to be using. Had she done it, really? The weather had changed. If they weren't in the middle of a fight, he might have commented that a tan would look really good with the colors of her dress.

They'd hurt it... they'd actually hurt it. ********/> Holi almost slowed for a second in her frantic excavation, eyes widening as she took in the effects of Haephestos's attack, but then resumed digging with one hand as she made frantic beckoning motions with the other, begging for the others to bring the burning Matches and the Vodka closer.
"YES! ******** YEAH!" It probably sounded a little weird coming from a girl who looked like a little porcelain doll, but she was running on quite a lot of adrenaline. "THAT WAS BRILLIANT! Can we do it again?"
It was strange to the point of surreal to suddenly be digging in the summer heat, and her t-shirt was starting to stick to her skin, but she was reluctant to back away without being sure she'd been able to do SOMETHING to clear a path.
They had to move fast, that was obvious, and she didn't want to have to charge back to the gate through more tentacles if the Senshi were caught again. They could yell at her later, right?

It was a few more spins before Themis was finally released, and sent crashing back on the stones - knocking all air straight out of his lungs.
Eternal senshi or not, that kinda s**t still sucked, and anyone who said otherwise was either a good actor or a liar.
Then Chronos made it summer, and Themis only wanted to crawl somewhere and die. He'd heard his name, through, and looked around to see who had actually said his name.

Vodka.. Of course! A small frown which turned into a small smile curved on her lips as she had a chance to examine the small bottle further. How she couldn't see it before? (Okay, she had been swung by a horror movie monster tentacles earlier but that was no excuse!) She had used alcoholic beverages before in culinary school. She knew how they acted with fire.
"If anyone have anything that they are willing to burn and throw againgst that icy thing," Jade announced while searching for anything that she could use. "Come here to get fuel for it!" Then, after finding nothing useful really she started to pour about the half of the vodka the small bottle contained on the ground, just next to the shadow where new bubbles were forming up. She used one of the matches and soon there was a small partial ring of fire pursuing the shadow. Flambéed ice monster anyone?
Being a cat had it's benefits when it came to landing. Even though she was in her human form, Cora still managed to land nicely on her feet, without getting much hurt (except from getting frostbites in her ankles, cold was not good when you had just bare feet). Her relief was gone soon though as soon she noticed what had happened to the newest member of the household she lived in.
"Themis!" came out from Cora as she scrambled to the side of the eternal senshi. Tears escaped from her pink eyes when she lifted his head lightly, worried more than ever of his health. "I'm so sorry Themis.... It's all my fault. All my fault!"
