His eyes watered and his jaw dropped low. The backs of his legs had been hit by the spider's fire-hot acid attack. The pain was overwhelming and shocking as he toppled over, smelling the skin and hair burn as the acid singed through him. He did his best to hold back a scream, feeling that would only call more attention to himself from the spider. Lying on his front, he reached his arms forward and attempted to military crawl, but his legs were in too much pain to be usable.
Instead, he could only look at Dannay with tearful watering eyes of pleading desperation.

She screamed as it knocked her backwards, instinct was to run, but he’d tried to distract it, she scrambled back to her feed and hesitated, Very nearly ran…very nearly but then made herself stop. She’d be the BEST rescuer ever.
“LEAVE HIM ALONE YOU LEGGY FREAK OR I’LL FIND SOMOENE WITH SPACE RAID!!!”
She screamed sounding more histrionic than intimidating as she attempted to distract the beast.

The Space Spider was not pleased by simply burning Ricky's legs, and it was too enraged to be distracted by Dannay's attempt. Another roar, but this time, it reared up into the air, six of its eight legs lifting off the ground. One of those legs came down on Ricky and speared him through the soft flesh of his thigh. In the commotion, Dannay noticed a strange glowing blue circle on the creature's underside. Quote: Ricky! You have been badly injured, and the Space Spider still has a spindly leg stabbed through you! Do you... A) struggle for freedom! OR B) play dead! Dannay!Strange blue thing. Weird. Do you... A) attempt to run under the creature to get a better look OR B) find something to throw at the Space Spider

In the movies the blue spot would –totally- be how to kill the creature. Maybe it was like Shelob in Lord of the rings, She could do this, she could SO do this, even if it was a nasty hairy icky spider with its fangs sunk into someone’s nearly-a**.
She did her best attempt to get under the creature for a better look.

Ricky couldn't hold back his screams any longer as the spider's leg speared through his thigh. He tried to move his leg, but spider's leg crossing through it made moving even that more painful. He clenched his teeth as he used the rest of his body to struggle for freedom by flailing his strong arms, but tried to keep his injured leg as steady as possible.

The spider seemed unimpressed by Ricky's pathetic attempt to earn his freedom. It was a massive space monster. It had crapped out things more significant than him. Its response to his struggling was to stick him headfirst into its snapping mandibles. It did not quite crush him, but cuts sprang up from every point of contact. Meanwhile, Dannay was able to slip until its belly unnoticed. What she saw was a glowing blue circle about the size of a dinner plate. By comparison to the sheer size of the thing, it seemed utterly minuscule. The membrane looked much softer than the rest of the thing's body. When Cancer punctured a similarly-colored sac inside of the Space Whale, she had fallen into a coma. If Dannay knew that, perhaps it would influence her choice. If not, she would have no idea of the risk. Oh, and Ricky was more or less being eaten. Quote: WHAT WILL OUR HEROES DO???
The choice is yours.

Best hero ever… right? She had to try right? She hadn’t been inside the whale, but she’d seen the girl Cancer covered in blue something. She had to do SOMETHING it was eating him after all. With a nervous squeal she punched as hard as she could at the blue area. Being covered in spider guts was NOT her idea of heroic, but sometimes you got the ‘dirty jobs’ right? And she DID rather like that show. She did her very best to try and puncture the glowing blue circle.

"MAMA!" he cried hopelessly, tears flowing down his cheeks as the spider's mandibles hacked away at him. His life was flashing before his eyes, images of his fondest moments: fishing on the lake with his father, enjoying his mother's homemade chicken pot pie with the extended family gathered around the Thanksgiving table, his first kiss, moving to Destiny City...and then came all the regrets. All of the things he had done wrong, all of his crimes, all the times he had hurt people, skipped class until he dropped out of school, lost every job he had. They all came rushing back to him, and the emotional pain hurt nearly as much as the physical pain of being gnawed on. "I'm sorry mama, I'm sorry papa, I'm sorry Jesus, somebody save me!"
He tried to pray, hoping that it provide some salvation, but his mind was far too unfocused as his body flailed trying to break free.

Quote: Dannay must roll one 100-sided die to attempt a puncture. Ricky must roll one 100-sided die to attempt to escape. Must be between 51-100 to succeed.

Ricky escaped from the spider's jaws and mandibles, falling to the ground with a thud in a pool of blood. His legs still felt like they were on fire, but that was nothing compared to the overall aches and pains of his bleeding, wounded body. It took all the willpower he had in him to try crawling as far away from the spider as he could get, praying that his new friend would be able to escape the spider. He turned to look back - an often unwise decision according to most films - to check on her.

Her fist slammed through the thinner area on the carapace. Whatever thin protection it offered it was demolished by a desperate girl in the face of screaming and pain. Confront your fears isn’t that what they always said. If her momentary joy at the victory was to be short lived or not it was soon to be known.
“GO JUST GO!” She called to him as she tried to shove her arm as deep as she could without retching.

The spider let out a squeal of horrific pain as Dannay punctured the soft blue spot. A waterfall of goo sprang out, but the monster flailed left, shooting it away from the girl. Unfortunately, her arm was coated. Her mouth went slack, eyes rolling upward. All the muscles in her arms softened too. Without warning, Dannay collapsed to the ground, still breathing. Quote: Danny has been negatively affected by the Deep Space Chaos Monster serum! She only received a tiny bit of it, but it was enough to throw her into a coma. She will remain in a coma for two in-character days. Her brain activity remains, and she finds herself plagued by strange dreams. She seems to be in an Outpost of the Zodiacs, but... it is different. Nothing is broken, or marred. People pass her in the hallways laughing and smiling. The dream is always the same: she walks down a hallway, smiles at a group of people who pass her by, and then glances out a window to the stars beyond. The Space Spider was nowhere near dead, but the wound from Dannay was enough to cause it severe distress. It scuttled along the pathway, foaming and screeching. It had already badly wounded Ricky -- but that appeared to be all that he would get that day. Without further attack, the monster disappeared under the pathway and then retreated back to the blackness of space Ricky was left alone with a comatose Dannay and a choice to make about what to do with her.

"DANNAY!" he called. There was no response. "DANNAY!"
He stared at her still, comatose body, unsure if she was alive or dead. Should he crawl over and check on her? His legs were burning in pain, his body bleeding rapidly. If he didn't start moving towards the Virgo Outpost for help soon, he'd likely die. He couldn't turn back. He had no choice, he had to keep moving.
"Dannay! Don't die on me, girl! I'll get some help!"
He struggled, crawling on his stomach all the way back the Virgo Outpost. It took nearly half an hour to complete what would have been a three minute walk until he made it to the Virgo Outpost.
"HELP! HELP ME!" he screamed. "SOMEBODY HELP ME! I'm bleedin' out ere and there's a girl out there in need of some help! We're dyin'! SOMEBODY HELP!"

Virgo heard the screams as she was preparing to make a quick trip to Leo for a bite to eat. Bleeding out? No one should be bleeding out, there hadn't been anything--
Except there had, because when Virgo approached Ricky she saw enough blood to fill a water mattress and enough wounds to make her feel faint. But her phobia had lightened to distaste a long time ago through sheer exposure, and now she was going to help the man. The blonde senshi jogged forward, her expression grim; she bent down to gather him into her arms. "Mr. Cunningham, it's going to be okay," she said, starting her jog into the temple. "I'll go get the girl, too. Promise."
Once she'd passed him off to a senshi at the Outpost, she turned and jogged off to get the girl. The damage to the Surrounding was severe, and she found herself wondering, faintly, if their attempt to restore it had caused more harm than good.
She brought Dannay back to Virgo Outpost, and radioed a report to the others. Everyone had to know that the monsters were not going to stop coming.
