The other question made it tilt its head once more; it was going to get slightly dizzy if this kept up! "Ah... surgery? Not on me," it added, quickly. "On something interesting. That was how we met, remember?" A thread of fondness crept into its voice. "With the frog, on the train."

I agree, a parka would probably be very warming. Though I think I would look hottest in a large foxfire fur. Have you ever been in one of those? If you are not in the coldest of weather, I would not recommend it. Being that hot is uncomfortable.
Though, she supposed Malodore wouldn't get hot in a foxfire fur. Still, it weighed close to a whole person itself - discomfort would come, either way.
I do remember that! Huh. That was an easy one, I suppose. I realize that, other than that day, I've never done anything like that around you. I will have to rectify that. I think we should plan a nice calming vivisection together. Yes, I think that would be very nice.
Well, apparently the magazine had helped them come up with good ideas, after all! She gave it another try. She also found extreme amusement that she had, without really trying, managed to turn the tide of the entire conversation - Malodore had come in looking to find out more about her, and all they'd done for the last few minutes is let her find out more about it.
Classic.

She eyed the magazine warily. How did it know we do that?

"I, ah, actually..." Malodore ducked its head, as if embarrassed. "I would love to see you, ah. Feed. On something that's... still alive. I think it would be most educational and scientific and ah, yes..."

That wasn't an answer she expected. At all. She used her arms to scooch up just slightly, and gave Malodore a curious, penetrating glance.
Really. She murmured. I would not have guessed that. In fact, I would have thought just the opposite. Her face lifted in lieu of a grin. That's kind of.. nice. In a strange way. Kind of makes me think you accept me for who I am. Even if I am a monster.
She leaned up and patted the side of its beak. Then look, we already have so many things planned for the future. A nice couples vivisection, a live dinner, really I find this conversation has been very productive for planning out things we want to do together. She paused, and her finger tapped her chin. I wonder. I am just curious, mind, and either answer would be fine with me. But, ah - would you be more interested in observing the hunt, or is it just the consumption that interests you.
All in all, she thoroughly enjoyed where the conversation was going.

It ducked its head again; its tone was almost shy.

Listening to Malodore falter in shyness made Riley's heart stutter. It wasn't just accepting her eating habits, it sounded like it was.. very interested in them. She hardly ever got to see Malodore so excited about something that was directly her doing. It was charming. It was starting to make her feel shy, as well. Which, in and of itself, was a feat.
It is sort of like that. Uhm. I. I can do that for you. If you want. She bucked slightly, as if she was going to rise and hunt at that very moment. Want me to go bring back something from the wild for you right now?

"Right... now?" Malodore's eyes widened behind its lenses. "Ah... ah, no, let's... let's do that another time. A special trip, yes? Something we can do together, si?" It was actually blushing under its bandages and mask, not that anyone could tell. Except it. "But, ah. Grazie. Sometime, yes. For certain."
It glanced at the magazine. "Ah, I did not answer your other question..."

Riley sunk back down into Malodore's lap, content with the idea that she would satiate the plague doctors desire at another time. After all, she wasn't in the mood to go out hunting, anyway. She snuggled back into a half-curl, and closed her eyes. If she was of the type to do such, she would be purring like a small fluffy animal of some sort. But she was neither small, nor fluffy. Something special we can do together. I like the sound of that.
Oh. Right. She had asked another magazine question, hadn't she? Okay. What is your answer, then?

Malodore relaxed a little - it hadn't realized how it had tensed up before, goodness! - and curled one arm around Riley's waist. "Ah, yes... hm. I wake up, we watch the pups play with each other, we go for a run... and then we go do something new." Its beak opened slowly in a smile. "Something different, yes? I have been thinking, I have been allowing old attitudes to hold me back from new experiences too much. Even if they are frivolous, I should try, si?"

She didn't know exactly how she felt about new experiences, but she wasn't against them. Especially not if Malodore wanted to expand its horizons - that was reason enough for her. Of course. We can do anything. Anything you like. She chuckled. After all, I did just sit here and read through a rubbish magazine with you, answering frivolous questions in an attempt to get to know one another better. (Except she had mostly asked the questions.) If I would do that, there's little I wouldn't do for you.
She closed the magazine up, and settled it back in Malodore's hands. But. Then again. This was fun. So, obviously we should try new things more often. Yes, I definitely think so.
Was she biased because Malodore had let her curl up around it like some sort of cuddly animal while they did so? Perhaps.

Riley was happy, and Malodore had managed to acquire the data needed for the next phase of the experiment. It had all gone reasonably well, in the plague doctor's opinion. "I do not believe I shall repeat the 'try this magazine' experiment," it said, shaking its head. "Though the end results were satisfactory, I don't believe the magazine itself had much to do with it."

Mhm. But that's the point of trying new things. You do everything once. Some things will fail, and others will succeed. But everything must be tried once.
She buried her head into its coat again. Certainly being in a relationship was a new experience, in and of itself. But right now I think I will spend some time enjoying an activity that is not new to me. Cuddling with you.
And so she did.
