Mora watched what was beginning to transpire with steady attention, ready to take action. Though it was quickly hard to do so with Coraline pushing her way past her to accompany Eliya. Mora's suspicions about the young Altmer's being too young for such a mission were slowly being confirmed. The Bosmer tried to reach out to pull the foolish girl back, but didn't succeed. Mora twisted her mouth in displeasure, now having to account for two allies not being accidentally caught in friendly fire. She would have to remember to council the girl on the virtues taking care of the ranged warriors and how it wasn't a good idea to walk between them and the enemy. But in this matter it turned out to not matter much either way in that situation, since the mind-controlled goblin successfully took out his companion and was, in turn, taken out by the bulky Nord.

There was a shuffling in who was to take point after the last goblin fell, which Mora approved of despite her initial idea that Hakon would make a good lead due to his bulk and armor. She had forgotten about a goblin's affinity for making crude traps and how hard it might be for a man of Hakon's size might find such traps difficult to avoid. Being small and light on her feet, she really never had problems with such traps. Not after the first time one got sprung on her, anyway. The Bosmer motioned for Eliya to take the lead just as the High Elf voiced that she would. Not that Mora didn't think she herself was qualified for such a task. Eliya had the night eye, though.

The decision was made that they would go down the side passage that they had passed and from which Mora had heard some commotion. She took her place behind Hakon and Eliya, bowstring resting but with the arrow still notched. Mora took this chance to turn her head toward Coraline and whisper, "You should have stayed back when Eliya went forward. I had said that I would cover her and I meant it. If there had been a crisis, one of my arrows would have been enough to ensure safety. If you had gotten in the way of my arrow if I needed to let it fly..." She trailed off at that point, hoping that the girl understood. She also hoped that Coraline hadn't taken her advice the wrong way. Mora did speak as calmly and gently as she could, trying hard to not sound condescending. Now it was up to Coraline's maturity.

The two goblins started attacking each other. Ferocity was breed into them and she could easily notice it with each attack they did. The one who was hexed seemed to be gaining the upper hand, and with a quick swift downward plunge, the still remaining enemy in this room was no more. The flanged mace crushed the goblins skull, a bone shattering attack killed it what seemed to be instantly. There was only more left and it stood around, as if waiting for Eliya to tell it what to do next. It's eyes were blinking rapidly, soon the spell would wear off. She could see the color of it's eyes return slowly. It's awareness of it's surroundings were coming back as his internal mind gears were turning. Harkon pronounced he would take care of this one, a quick and easy kill. Coraline just sheathed her sword and would let him take care of it. And with one swift stab the goblins lungs were collapsing and it fell to the ground lifeless.

The group regathered and decided to trek backwards to a side passage in the tunnel then had just gone through. She didn't remember seeing one but it wasn't unlikely that there was one, it was dark enough that Coraline could have just over looked it. ''
Sounds good.'' she said quietly, still trying to be wary of any other creature who might have lurked within this cavern. Her response was also to the fact that she didn't really want to take the lead and was going to be fine with Eliya up in the front along with Harkon, leaving the rear guard to be her and Yaa'namora.

The group set off back down the path they had just taken, two by two, they went ahead on carefully, or at least Coraline was trying her best to be quite. Her eyes by now have already gotten situated to the darkness, giving her a slight better vision but not anywhere as good as what Eliya had with her ring. Still every little bit would help. It didn't take long for Mora to start speaking to Coraline. It was a little hush hush so the others wouldn't be able to hear it. What she said sounded like advice but it didn't rub Coraline the right way. She just nodded politely and pursed her lips in frustration to stop them from opening up to speak what she really thought. Even if she was young it didn't stop the fact that the Mage's Guild saw her abilities capable enough to go along with them on this mission. They didn't need to baby sit her and she was quite fed up with their glares and polite ways of saying ''you're too young to be here.''

She was doing well, keeping her mouth shut, till she let her lips untighten. They loosened up and with her words started to come out to Mora in the same hushed tone she was speaking to her. lf she were going to be taken serious she had to speak up for herself and not get pushed around because these ''matured'' people saw fit to take the lead in her job.''
Honestly l see where you're coming from, but, if the Mage's didn't see my abilities fit enough to join this mission then l wouldn't be here.'' her heart was racing and her vision was becoming tunneled as she kept speaking to her, still whispering. ''l'm just as capable as you are even though my size might lead you to think otherwise. l truly mean you no disrespect in your own abilities, but if you're unable to aim that bow you seem to speak so highly of to aim around or even above me, then perhaps you shouldn't be using it.'' She stopped before she was about to follow her race's own racial prejudices on the other races that lived alongside them. She didn't want a racial dispute but she couldn't stop thinking of what this Bosmer thinks is best for her. ''And l was accounting for you covering me, l just didn't want Eliya in there alone. You can only shoot your bow so fast, y'know?'' Before she started to speak again she bit her tongue a bit too literally. She knew she was being a little braty but she was sick of their attitudes. Ever since they had met all of them have seen her as a burden when she wasn't the one who set off the trap or rushed into a room recklessly without telling everyone else what she was up to. She only went in to be back up so that both of the goblin's attention wouldn't just be on Eliya, Harkon was a little to slow to do that, but she didn't begrudge him for that.

Soon they reached the bypass that Eliya was speaking about, and there was another person in this room, a Dunmer. Another elf was here. Perhaps he was the one that they had spoken slightly ill of previously. She didn't know but already was seeing his smug personality that he would just go to the mission alone a little to vile.

Neven Telvanni- Warlock

Health : Unharmed ┃ Magicka : recharging ┃ Fatigue : Winded┃ Effects : None┃Equipped : Weaponward Cuirass (Resist Normal Weapons 9%) Leather Cuirass, Clothes, Mages Staff of Shock [Journeyman], Silver Longsword ┃ Quest Items : NA┃ Location : Goblin Jim's Cave

Neven let out a string of curses and other obscenities, which would have made the ears of the foulest Orc warrior blush, as he slowly, removed the rubble that blocked his path forward. His attention was so focused on the number of obscenities and other thoughts of what he’d do to the goblins once he found them, and what he might do to the bloody mage he’d been tasked with hunting down that he didn’t hear the noise of the group coming up on his rear. It wasn’t until he got this unnerving feeling that he was being watched that he took notice that the others were there. He dropped one of the stones he was holding and slowly turned around to face them. Of course the first person to meet his gaze had to be the Altmer woman Eliya, standing next to her was some large brute, a Nord by his looks. Why some lumbering Nord encased in a shell of steel armor was among a group of mages escaped him at the moment. This Nord could put his brute strength to use and clear the path for them to proceed. ”Well just don’t stand there and stare you lumbering fool. Put your mass and strength to use and help clear this tunnel.” Neven said as he looked around the Nord and eyed the two other figures, two more females the smallest Altmer he’d ever seen and a Bosmer. He remembered checking a glimpse of her as he left the guild but as to her identity he didn’t have the foggiest clue. While he waited for the Nord to get to work Neven continued ”So who thought it was a good idea to bring a lumbering Nord warrior and a child on a mission like this? They are just going to get in the way.”

Hakon Vermundr

His sword now sheathed, Hakon has no qualms about backtracking to find a safer route under Eliya’s guide. He still felt the slightest bit of shame for triggering a trap so soon but his spirits remained high and he was as confident as ever but now he had acquired just a little more caution in his steps. When the elf motioned him to follow her he questioned how great of an idea that was before realizing how convenient it was. Obviously, she could see better in the dark than he did and if he remained close enough he could simply mimic her footsteps to avoid any sudden falls or cracks that could lead to another trap or causing him to trip. Still, he deemed it wise to remain cautious and used his free sword hand to balance himself by keeping it pressed against the wall. In addition, he slowed his pace and breath, which seemed much louder in the smaller space, so that he could hear. It was only then that he could hear the conversation between Mora and Coraline.

As much as he liked the child Hakon would never have allowed her to come on a mission like this had he been her father. On the other hand, he was not her father nor was he her Guild master. If others thought she was ready for the journey then he was not one to stop her. After all, the best knowledge came from hands-on experience and he was around her age when he started out in Skyrim. Of course Mora was also just looking out for her fellow guildmate. Had Hakon been wearing less armor or failed to warn her of his intention then he probably would have gotten an earful if something went bad. Hell, not only would he have deserved it but he would expect to be corrected when he did something wrong. There was value in lessons, even if they stung your ego quite a bit…like falling for a goblin trap of all things.

His musings were cut short when he noticed Eliya staring at a figure ahead of them, causing him to slow to a halt. Eventually he made out the outline of an elf, a male Dunmer no less. Before he could greet the man, whom he assumed was the member of their party that went ahead earlier, the man clearly insulted him. Under his helmet the Nord narrowed his eyes and considered saying something but decided against it. The last they needed was to shout insults towards one another so early in the mission. Instead he simply took off his shield, placed it against the wall, and went to work moving aside the larger rubble. Then he heard the quip about him and Caroline, causing him to pause halfway through lifting a boulder to reply in a hushed but sarcastic tone, “Same person who thought bringing a Dunmer who couldn’t pick up a wee rock was a good idea.”

He never had fond relations with Dunmers, they all seemed to have nothing better to say then petty insults. At least with that being out of the way he could continue clearing the path ahead. In truth there really wasn’t that much to do besides move the larger pieces of rubble out of the way and nudging the smaller ones to the side. By the time he was finished his armor and hands had been coated with a layer of dirt in some spots. Once he believed the path was sufficiently cleared of any material that would hinder the group if they needed to make a quick escape he retrieved his shield before motioning towards Eliya. “The way is clear. No need to test one another’s nerves by waiting around.”

Eliya ~

Eliya was likely less surprised then anyone else when the Dunmer insulted Hakon and Coraline. This man was clearly lacking in manners or any kind of tact, incredibly so, and rudeness seemed to be the only thing capable of coming out of his mouth. The mage assassin stood with her arms crossed, watching as Hakon went to the dark skinned elf's side to help clear the rubble. She hadn't seen his or the younger Altmer's expression at being insulted, but the steel clad warrior's response brought a pull of a smile to Eliya's lips, though she didn't quite let it manifest on her face. She could have offered to help of course; she could have used a telekinesis spell to help them move the rubble, but it hardly seemed necessary as they made quick work of the rocks. Honestly Eliya would have rather have turned around and walked back the way she'd just came rather then help the arrogant man in front of her.

The Altmer was keeping an eye on the men as they removed the stones, so even as Hakon was announcing their path now clear, Eliya slipped by him and the Dunmer to once again lead the way. "Obviously someone with lighter feet needs to lead the way otherwise we might as well announce ourselves, if you haven't done so already," she muttered loud enough for Nevan to hear as she moved past. Her reference was to the trap he had sprung. She had thought about mentioning her words in reference to both men, as it could be considered quite accurate, but her words were meant more to barb the proud Dunmer then anything else.

Cautiously she went forward down the now cleared path. Once again the corridor narrowed so that they could only walk in single file. Eliya walked for a little while without seeing any side passageways until finally the corridor split into two directions. Should they split up? She took the right path without any comment or apparent hesitation, but if Nevan or someone else wanted to take the left side she didn't care. As she followed the path it curved and then she came to a small area that opened up and led upwards. She held up a hand in warning to stop anyone who was right next to her or behind her. Cautiously she knelt and disarmed a trip wire before moving forward. It quickly became apparent that the trip wire would have set off an avalanche of falling logs had it been triggered.

Up ahead she could see via some flickering lamps that there was a door, hopefully this led to their destination. Suddenly there was a loud screech and from behind the large pile of logs two goblin sentries jumped out! With lightning reflexes Eliya instantly threw the dagger she held in her hand. It flew through the air, its aim true, and found itself buried hilt deep in the creature.

Yaa'namora

Mora's eyebrows climbed into her hairline as she heard Coraline's reaction to her advice. She should not have been surprised that such a childish remark would come from a child, but up until then she really had been leaning toward the opinion that Coraline had been sent on the mission because the guild saw her as an able young woman. Now Mora was doubting their decision. Of course, there were many a grown man and woman who couldn't take a king critique that was honestly and harmlessly given. "You did yourself an injustice, Coraline." Mora replied sternly. "I only seek to give you advise, but in the same breath you scorn my words, call yourself capable of being an adult, and prove how much of a child you are. People will not take you seriously unless you are both more mature and skilled than everyone else in the party. It is the price you pay for not waiting a couple years before adventuring." She would ignore for now the outright fallacy Coraline voiced when she said that Mora should not be in possession of her bow and that a blade would react faster than a ranged weapon. She didn't seem to think through what she said at all. That would be a lesson to be taught later, not in a rank and dark cave filled with goblins.

When Mora was finished speaking they came across a block in the road and an irate and blunt Dunmer who was trying to move rubble out of the way. He was very intent on pointing out the strangeness of the child and hulking Nord. She did think along the same lines as he did, except on the count of Hakon, but disapproved his lack of decorum. At least there was something to be said for his honesty. She waited in her usual silence while Hakon cleared the rubble from the pathway, then followed just as quietly directly behind Eliya. The Bosmer notched an arrow in her bow again a readied herself for both ambush and trap. The creatures had to know of their presence now.

Thankfully, her eyes had adjusted to the meager light of the cave, and she was able to see clearly the hand she held out to bring the party to a stop. The trap was disabled quickly and quietly, and they continued. It was only slightly surprising when the two goblins jumped out from behind the pile of logs that was meant to trip up the party. She reacted just as quickly as Eliya did; aiming, drawing, and loosing the arrow into the chest of one of the goblins. Unfortunately, it was the same goblin that the Altmer's knife buried itself into. At least now they knew without a doubt that it was definitely dead. The second Goblin took his place, and Mora thought she could see its resolve quaver a little in the face of so many adversaries. She didn't have much time to look, however, since she quickly dodged out of the way until her back pressed against one of the cold stony walls of the cave. Mora didn't want to get run over by the people behind her who were more likely than not about to charge forward into battle.

Coraline didn't much care for what the Bosmer said next. She already guessed it would be some witty rhetorical statement that was just to justify her own pre-judgmental thoughts on Coraline. Still, it made her blood boil in her veins when she only called her a child for speaking her mind. lt was redundant to point out the obvious that her age was going to be a factor in how she acted, but given the situation, Coraline was sure that Mora would too act out as a ''child''. lf speaking your mind and telling off someone in somewhat mature, even though what she said was a bit immature, manner, then Mora herself was being a child. Just because Coraline was still young and spoke up to defend herself doesn't mean she was a child. She handled it quite well seeing as she could have made quite the scene if she wanted to. lt would only be fortunate though to see her bosmer companion fall in combat, but most likely not come to that. She could only picture it in her head, it not actually doing it herself.

They were now at the talking to the Dunmer. His words were just insults to Harkon and herself. He spoke to down to them that she felt that she should make some comment about slavery in his home country and ask why he isn't being beat by a whip himself. Though she held her tongue for now. She had already gotten on the bad side of one of her group members, she didn't need to further ruin the small chance she had with him, even though she was already standing in a bad light. Harkon though did respond, her words made her smile, a little to visibly with a murmur of a laugh that was a puff, but she hoped no one would notice as she quickly tried to catch her poster back to normal.

She would have offered to help the two clear a small debris pile, but it seemed that her helping would only get in the way as there was little room to which they were clearing, so, instead she stood in the back and waited patiently. Small bits of light cracked down from the ceiling that only illuminated lines. Her eyes drifted around as her arms were folded across her chest. Such disgusting creatures, it was vile to see them still living a blight upon the world. Though it didn't take long for the two to clear the way. Eliya commented that someone with a quiet step should lead their way, and, it was probably best seeing as she seemed to have full visibility. Coraline only nodded to her gesture and followed behind them, taking a position more in front this time, trying to keep her distance from Mora.

A trap was disarmed, and, Coraline was glad that it hadn't gone off like the last one. lt would have been a disaster. Though they weren't so lucky. As soon as they crossed the threshold into the opening two more goblins were already attacking. Eliya was the first to act as one of her blades was thrown at it. Then was Mora, using her bow. Coraline acted next. Her Short Sword was in her hands quickly. Right hand over left on the hilt and the blade already in motion as she ran over to the remaining goblin. The first swing too it by surprise as an almost hidden person behind a wall of adults ran out towards it, slashing it's stomach to it's chest in an angle. She rolled with the attack as the Goblin was making it's way towards the party, not expecting something to spring out and attack it as it did. As she rolled with the attack she struck it again. It's bare back was sliced from the left shoulder down to the last rib. The blade sunk deeply into the flesh tearing it apart and breaking it's bones. lt's feet only carried it a few more steps before it toppled over on itself.

Neven Telvanni- Warlock

Health : Unharmed ┃ Magicka : tapped┃ Fatigue : Rested ┃ Effects : Night Eye, Detect Life┃Equipped : Weaponward Cuirass (Resist Normal Weapons 9%) Leather Cuirass, Clothes, Mages Staff of Shock [Journeyman], Silver Longsword ┃ Quest Items : NA┃ Location : Goblin Jim's Cave

A smug grin grew across Neven’s face as the Nord did his best to insult him. Neven pressed himself against the stone wall to let the armored Nord by, just as he passed Neven lowered his voiced and whispered just so the warrior could hear him, ”Test me again and we’ll see what a roasted Nord in steel armor looks like.” Before the Nord to reply Neven moved closer to the group of ladies that made up the rest of the party. He expected the little one to bark out some sort of retort at being called a child, but to his surprise she can’t her mouth shut. This one must have known better than to talk back to adults. It didn’t make him any happier to have her along though, what the Mage’s Guild was thinking sending her along he didn’t rightly know. When things hit the fan, and it was were more than likely to happen, Neven would do what he always did best, look after himself and only himself.

Once the lumbering Nord had cleared the rubble, Neven bristled a bit at Eliya’s comment. He knew perfectly well that barb was directed at him. Neven threw on a fake smile bowed his head and said sarcastically ”By all means take the lead, we sure feel safer with you taking point.” He once again pressed himself up against the stone wall to let her pass ”I’ll just take up the rear guard then. Just encase something you” Neven stressed the word, ”didn’t take care of earlier decides to sneak up on us from behind.”

As they continued further into the cave system, Neven had to reapply his spell work, this time he added in detect life, the group in front of him instantly showed a purplish aura around them as the spell read their life aura. He was about to shout forward and ask if Eliya was lost when the group suddenly came to a halt. He noticed Eliya bend down, he directed his gaze further ahead and noticed a pile of logs sitting atop a small rise in the cave's tunnel. 'Well, well she managed to find and disarm a trap, good for her.' He thought to himself, he was just about to mock her when two goblins came leaping out from behind the logs. Not doubt pissed off that their trap had failed. Neven readied himself for combat drawing upon his Magika to unleash a wave a fire. However it seemed like the situation didn't need his skill's after all. Eliya reacted fast tossing her knife forward, just then he heard the twang of a bow string as the Bosmer woman loosed an arrow. Both attacks were directed toward the same goblin however, leaving the second one unharmed. 'Alright I'll take this one down then' Neven lashed his arm out but had to quickly fling it in a different direction as the Altmer child sprinted forward and engaged the remaining goblin. The blast of fire struck the ceiling above them, but thank Azura it didn't catch anyone in the group on fire.

Once both Goblins lay dead or dying on the ground, Neven shouted at the girl "What in the Oblivion do you think you were doing? You nearly ended up a burning pile of ash on the ground. If I hadn't reacted in time and redirected my spell." Neven was pissed, the growing disdain he had for this guild was billowing toward the surface, and this child was going to feel the brunt of it. "This is a group of MAGES' or its suppose to be." He eyed the armored Nord and shook his head. "We don't go racing forward and act like a crazed Orc. By Azura, I don't know who's to blame, the Mage's Guild for letting you come along or the teacher you had to learn the arts of Magicka."

Hakon Vermundr

On second thought, Hakon did not hate the male elf…he hated him. Not once in all of his travels had he met one so detestable. When the elf made his threat the Nord wanted to see how long it would take for the elf to realize that all his spells would do was restore Hakon’s reserves. Then, when push came to shove, he was pretty sure he would have the advantage in the sword fight. Regardless he was here to rescue someone, not engage in a pissing contest. So he did not reply to the man, at least not yet, and when Eliya got the group moving again he took position behind Mora so that he would be better able to trace their steps. It also helped that since the three smallest, and fastest in his opinion, would be up front so that they could engage any enemies quickly. He did not like that the male elf was behind him, and on more than one occasion he wanted to stop abruptly just to annoy the man but kept his mind at the task at hand.

He was glad Eliya was able to take care of the trap and when the goblin ambush came he stood aside while the others went to work. He was impressed by their abilities beyond the use of magic, as he always stereotyped the mages guild members as those without much…experience with hands on work. In his mind everything went well up until the point where the male Dunmer decided to boil the ceiling or whatever it was that he did. Then, just as he wanted to continue moving forward to get the day over with, the man behind him started shouting loud enough to create an avalanche in Skyrim from where they were. Turning on his heel, Hakon walked towards the man until he was so far into the other males personal space that they nearly touched. Being so close hopefully made the other man realize how much larger Hakon was compared to him and should give more than enough of a hint on how annoyed he was.

Looking down at the man, Hakon talked to him in a tone that was just above an angry whisper but below a shout. “Listen to me you damn fool. I have had enough of your self-centered attitude so shut up and think. This is a team, we do things in consideration of others. Had you been paying attention to those around you then maybe her actions would not have taken you by surprise. Isn’t that what a so-called mage is supposed to do? THINK before they speak and CONSIDER the consequence of their actions? We are here to find a man and bring him back safely. Right now, it is YOUR careless actions and YOUR inability to shut up that is putting this mission in jeopardy. I have been on enough missions to know when someone is endangering that mission and what must be done to keep them from getting from everyone else killed. You raise your voice one more time like that or do anything else that will endanger this mission or the group, moral or otherwise, and we WILL have a problem. DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR.”

To hell with rank and protocol. It wasn't the other man's fault alone, the team was inexperienced with one another and should vocalize their actions more often but with everyone's emotions breakout like this then the mission was doomed to fail.

Eliya ~

After the success of Eliya's embedded dagger, not even a second lapsed before the snap of an arrow followed suit. Quick reflexes that Bosmer has, the redheaded Altmer thought to herself. Unfortunately both of the elves had aimed at the same Goblin, so this left one more. The dilemma had barely formed conscious thought however, before Coraline rushed forward and dealt swift deadly blows to the remaining Goblin. Well look at that girl....she might have potential after all. Even as Coraline was hacking away, Eliya suddenly felt heat, and saw the flash of fire that Nevan released to the ceiling. What in the world was he thinking using a ranged attack in closed quarters, with comrades in such proximity? He had almost turned the younger Altmer into charred remains!

She spun on the elf, furious with him, even before she heard his words. What he said next only increased her fury, so much to the point that she felt herself shaking slightly with rage and she could barely make her voice work. He was blaming HIS MISTAKE on Coraline? AND he was shouting! There could be sentries on the other side of the door, alerting the rest of the clan! By the time Eliya found her voice, she had stepped towards the Dunmer threateningly, putting herself between him and Coraline, unconsciously in a protective manner, but Hakon was already speaking, clearly not planning on putting up with the other male's behavior either.

Eliya stood slightly behind and to the side of Hakon, her green eyes glaring hot coals at the Mer. Even as the armored warrior finished speaking, she cut in before Nevan had a chance to reply. "He is right. You not only just endangered a fellow guildmate, but you have just endangered our mission with your careless shouting. " Her voice continued in a heated and disdainful tone. "In your arrogance you have endangered this mission. If you do not agree to what my friend here just said, then you will leave the way you came. We will not allow you to jeopardize this mission further. " Her voice was authoritive and matter of fact. The dark skinned man probably didn't like that. Eliya's remaining dagger was in one hand, her other hand ready to release a paralyze spell if Nevan did not comply. Paralysis would give them the chance to disarm him, tie him up and make sure he didn't follow them any longer.

Though she did not know it for fact, Eliya was relatively sure that she was the highest ranking member among their group today. She was a journeyman in the mage's guild and hoping that the success of this mission would mean being promoted upon its completion. This pathetic man was getting in the way of that. If she wasn't working with him, then she would have likely attempted to remove him from the picture. As much satisfaction as she would get from hurting him, it would not be worth getting kicked out of the Mage's Guild. She was definitely going to have a word with the Guild when she got back... he shouldn't be going on missions with other people. He obviously preferred to work alone, and considering that behavior would likely eventually get him killed, Eliya would prefer he do just that. But not today. If he went on his own he could mess things up, if he hadn't done so already.

As she awaited his answer, the mage assassin found herself hoping against hope that he would give her the excuse to paralyze him and tie him up. She was reasonably sure that Hakon would help, and Coraline probably too. Mora though would probably try to get them to work it all out.....Come on....do something...

Neven didn't have the chance to finished venting before the walking wall of armor twisted around and marched straight into his personal space. Neven cocked his head to the side and looked at the Nord with an uninterested face. The only sign of life was the brief blink of an eye. Once the Nord had said his piece, Neven continued to just stare stoically at him. In his mind he thought 'So the fool has the audacity to lecture me? Well I did warn him what would happen if he tested me again. Neven's hand slowly took on a fiery glow as Magicka soured down into his hand once more, he was quite ready to put his whispered threat into action. However before he could reduce this under-evolved primate to ashes, Eliya's had to put her two cents in as well. He canceled the spell building up in his hand, ignored the Nord who was no doubt waiting for some kinda of response from him, and instead addressed the Altmer. "Do not begin to lecture me on making noise!" He spat. "Has someone already forgotten about the traps that were set off? Oh that's right, these Goblins can't hear a ton of rock crashing down from the ceiling its only the voices of Mer and Men that they can hear." Neven rolled his eyes and shook his head side to side. "She endangered herself by leaping into close combat when clearly this encounter was about ranged attacks. Maybe I should have let my spell hit its original target, that would have solved the problem of her not taking into consideration the abilities of those around her. After all we are all Mages...well all but your new "friend" here and let me ask you a simple question. What is a Mages bread and butter? Umm let me think, ah that's right ranged spells." Neven had quite enough of these incompetent fools and no longer cared about rescuing yet another Mages Guild fool. "I could care less about what you will and will not allow, go find your lost compatriot on your own." Neven twisted around and marched off back the direction they had came. While he didn't have any plans on rescuing that old fool, he'd continue to look around this bloody cave to see if he could find something of value to justify his trip out here.

Yaa'namora

A party-wide fight erupted as Mora was bent to retrieve her arrow from the fallen goblin. She turned around to face the fiasco with her hands on her hips and a displeased expression twisting her pretty face. She had learned quickly to account for Coraline's wont to charge in front of ranged attackers while they could have been firing. That was the whole reason Mora chose her place just behind Eliya. It gave her the chance to do some good and to only have to worry about her Altmer friend getting in the way - which she was unlikely to do since she preferred her throwing weapons. Neven, however, didn't know about the girl's folly, and Coraline almost got a fireball to the back for it. Unfortunately he handled it in such a way that made him seem automatically in the wrong, and the ire of both Hakon and Eliya was aroused. They were all squabbling like children now. She agreed that Neven should not have yelled at her, and disagreed that a mage's most basic attacks were ranged spells, but she agreed with the thought behind Neven's words; Coraline should learn a little party awareness. That matter was rather serious, made even more so by the fact that Coraline simply did not want to listen to any sort of complaint.

Mora moved up to the confrontation in the hopes that she could get in between the three and get them to settle down a little. But Neven was just saying his last bit of retort and then turned to storm off. The Bosmer shot a determined glance at Eliya, hopefully betraying that she would handle the situation with Neven and that they should go on ahead. It was just as well that she separate herself from Coraline and the friendly fire hazard she created. The Dunmer and Mora seemed to have more similar fighting styles anyway, and could use their ranged abilities without worry and with the knowledge that the other would be more careful. It was a big cave anyway, and a split party would flush out the goblins and find the old fool of a man faster.

With light feet she jogged up to the dark elf, clearing her throat softly to make sure he knew she was there so she didn't startle him. When she was sure they were out of earshot from the rest of the party, she spoke, "The girl's a fool. One day she will be great, I think. But she has to grow up first. She put herself in a position to almost get one of my arrows in her back, and I advised her about the folly of it in the kindest manner. She insulted me. I hope you don't mind if I join you in the search the caverns apart from her." Hopefully he wouldn't be as crotchety to her as he had to everyone else. It was probably a good thing that Mora didn't have the fiery temper that the rest of the party seemed to have.

After Coraline had slain the second goblin she spun around on her heels to get ready for another assault. The room light up as she felt the top of her head grow frightening warm quickly. A quick second of panic overwhelmed her as she ducked and covered her head with her forearms. But as the flames died out she got back up to her readied posture, questioning herself if that blast was meant for her. lt would be as if there had only been two more patrols within this room. There was always the looming feeling that they might be hiding in the shadows. Yet she felt somewhat calm as her heart was racing. Like a small bit of her felt more relaxed as she knew that the danger was gone at least for now. So, she held her sword in her hand, and turned back around to the party to see if everyone else was ready to advance further. Even with their disputes they were still able to get the job done.

When she turned around though the Dunmer was standing in front of her, his face full of rage. She swears she could see his veins bulging in his forehead, ready to burst. What happened next she would have put money down. lt was going to be an obvious scorn. And it was. He shouted at her as if she were his pupil who made a grave mistake. Though if her memory served her well about the mage guild charter, they were both apprentices. He had no grounds to speak to her as such. She felt no need to waste her magicka on such a low-life goblin who she knew she could take out with just a couple quick slashes from her sword. She'd rather reserve her mana for a much more threatening group. She gripped her sword tightly at his words. About to spring at him like the child they all think she is.
He's just pissed l didn't allow him to take the spot light! she thought as she grit her teeth. Taking a deep breath though, her grip loosened. The tip of the sword just barely hovering over the stone floor they were walking on.

Coraline braced herself when the Harkon walked over, fearing his words more then this self righteous Dunmer. Though instead he only got in between herself and the man who just lashed out at her. And to her surprise he was more furious at this Neven then he was at her. In fact he didn't even speak about her or to her directly. He was one of the few who seemed to respect her, or, at least was showing no negative emotions towards her. Coraline couldn't help but feel scared of Harkon though. His large posture seemed threatening amplified by his quite threats. Her eyes captured Neven's hand start to light up, flames. She was about to make sure the Dunmer had one less appendage when Eliya too walked up to cast down the Dunmer. He took her offer and was making his way to backtrack. Mora followed him.

But it seems the group was splitting up, and, it was her fault or at least that's how she was putting it. And it was probably true. She could only assume why Mora wanted to leave, though if she were that petty to take what words they had in private to just walk away without saying anything to them then it would seem to be best for the team to split up. Not only that, but to cover more ground. A win-win it would seem. More ground coverage and less disputes. Though she wasn't about to stop them from leaving, perhaps the mission would go more smooth if they weren't here to cause such a ruckus every time they finished up with a room. She would wait for the two to depart before speaking to the remainder of the Mage Gang, letting the hungry for conflict and dog of a Dunmer leave them. ''
That was... unfortunate.'' she said at last. ''Though l think we wasted enough of the man's time talking, l figure we should continue.''

((ooc l tied to make a Scooby-Doo reference.

Hakon Vermundr

While he did not necessarily want Eliya’s support, Hakon was glad to see at least they thought along similar lines. In his peripheral vision he had seen the other male ready a spell, prompting Hakon to keep a tight grip on his sword until the other male backed off. Regardless, he kept staring the man down until he left. He would have preferred that they all stuck together but the man had made it perfectly clear that he was out looking only for himself, a dangerous attitude in these times. What surprised Hakon though, was that Mora decided to follow him. He did not know if she agreed with the other male or if she was going to attempt to bring him back. Whatever the case they needed to get moving forward again while the remaining goblins were still scattered. When the two were out of sight he relaxed his posture and his grip on his blade, slightly relieved that he did not have to spill unnecessary blood…no matter how much he wanted to get a good punch in.

Caroline’s voice caught his attention, and when he turned to face her, he felt a small measure of guilt for overstepping his place. “I apologize if I spoke for you when I not should have. Sometimes I have a temper that…needs to placed appropriately.” When he turned to Eliya he refocused on the mission, giving her a curt nod in respect before turning the conversation back towards moving forward as Caroline had suggested. “I agree with Caroline. Eliya, you have done well as our leader through these caves and I would wish for that continue. I can bring up our rear, and with our unfortunately smaller number, I will take direction from either of you. Simply give the word and I will be where I am needed.”

Eliya ~

Eliya's fingers tingled with magic waiting to be released. The glow in the arrogant mer's hand was not unnoticed. She should let her magicka strike him down. Better to act now and apologize later then to hesitate. Even as she agreed with this thought and prepared to strike Nevan with a paralysis spell, she found herself further infuriated when he spoke again. For whatever reason Eliya did not know, he completely ignored Hakon and turned his attention to her. Perhaps it was because Hakon appeared more threatening, or perhaps it was simply because Eliya had spoken last. What ever the reason was it didn't really matter. How could he just stand there and justify his mistakes? The redheaded Altmer found his narrow minded thinking incredibly irritating. Of all the mage's that made up the Mage's Guild, there was only a limited number of them who only used spells. Most mage's Eliya had encountered were well versed in not just spells, but other skills as well. There were so many things she wanted to verbally throw back at him, but she found a small sense of satisfaction in realizing that she was quickly seeing why he wasn't someone higher up in the University. He had to be around the same status or lower then her. For someone his age that likely told a story. Closed minded-ness, arrogance, who knew what else.

Even as the Dunmer turned around to leave the group and go back the way he came, Eliya was about to lunge forward and touch his unprotected back. But she didn't. Her gaze unexpectedly caught Mora's, and in that brief moment Eliya stopped. The Bosmer headed after the dark elf, why exactly the Alter wasn't quite sure, but knowing Mora as she did from their previous mission together, Eliya figured she had a good reason. Not necessarily something she, Eliya, would personally likely agree with, but whatever. The pent up power began to slowly reabsorb, the faintish green glow disappearing from her close fisted hand.

Coraline's words brought Eliya's angry attention back to the remaining two mage's beside her, but not before she had spit contemptibly in the direction Nerevar had gone. Spitting was not something she normally did, but in this moment it seemed right and made her feel good. Her attention was refocused on Hakon as he apologized to the younger elf for his temper. The unexpectedness of his words caused Eliya's eyebrows to furrow slightly. She seldom apologized for her temper and as far as she was concerned Hakon's apology was completely unnecessary. But then again he wasn't apologizing to her, he was apologizing to Caroline. She wanted to shake her head but his next words quickly followed and she settled for a nod instead. Anger was still bubbling under her surface, but she needed to calm down enough to put all her focus to the task at hand. "Sounds good.," she said crisply, turning to lead the way once more.

The wood door creaked open as Eliya stepped through it cautiously, her jade eyes scanning the next area quickly. It appeared to be a large stalagmite chamber, with uneven and rocky terrain. Quickly she saw that the path ahead led over a dark deep chasm. Far across the room on the other side of the abyss seemed to be the main campfire of the Goblins. Most of them seemed up and about. Doing a quick head count Eliya counted around a dozen. Likely they would have a least one shaman, a few skirmishers, berserkers and a chief. As she peered across the distance, her eyes caught, in one of the very corners, almost hidden from view, a large cage. From where she was standing, Eliya couldn't see very well who or what was in that cage, but she could guess. It likely held Marlones, the wizard that they had come to rescue. What the Altmer had a hard time understanding was how a wizard such as Marlones had been captured in the first place. And how had they kept him subdued? How had he not blasted every goblin in the cave to pieces and escaped? There must be more going on here....
