Mot had thought his dive was risky, and was proven correct. A bullet from the remaining bandit got him in the ribs before he landed. It stung like any paintball would, but he also knew that had been a kill shot. The rest was up to Mitsu! Mot lifted his head up in time to see the ghoul get pelted in the mask. Mot cringed for his friend, but also for their loss. Were they done so early in the game?
Then, people clapped. The boil looked over the table to see she had felled the last bandit. "Your death was not in vain, Mitsu!" Mot cheered, patting the ghoul on the back.

"I..I did it?" Mitsu seemed confused, maybe a little amazed, but definitely mostly confused. Bringing up a hand she tried to wipe away some of the paint dripping down her mask. She was thankful now for the covering, and here people thought she should be without it. If she had been hit in the face it would have been terrible.
Looking up at Mot as he patted her on the back, Mitsu smiled hearing his cheer. That was closer to the Mot she had come to know. It made her happy. "I, I guess not! You both did an excellent job as well!" The awkward happy tone was there. Easy enough to read without being able to see her face.
With the clapping and cheering all around them Mitsu stood to her feet now that they were safe, turning toward the gnome as he approached. He...really hadn't been a lot of help. Surely he could have given aid to Hel after she had fallen.
Catching Hel's promising glare, Jake shot her a beady eyed glare right back. He wasn't about to be intimidated by a ghoul three times his size. No sir! "Well, Lady," It was customary to say 'little lady' but the joke was lost on Jake. He couldn't bring himself to say little to someone obviously taller. It opened up a can or worms that would inevitably refuse to be closed. "We best start walkin' so you can find out."
There was a moment longer of staring before Jake turned on his heels and headed toward the door the tink tink tink of his spurs following in his wake.

The cheering, the praise, it was all lost on Hel at the moment. There was only one thing that existed right at this moment. Public enemy number one. Jake.
“That’s hero and saloon savior, to you.” Hel shot back. The valkyrie wasn’t about to back down from the staring, her eyes narrowing and her brows furrowed. Oh that beady little glare! Disgusting! She kept trying to drill holes into Jake’s skull with her eyes until he turned away from her, and Hel grinned widely. He turned away from her first! That meant she’d won that little round! Still, when the gnome turned his back to her, the urge to punt was still just as strong.
The ghoul looked back at her friends, giving a nod of her head before she followed after the gnome, now trying to drill holes in the back of his head with her eyes.

Mot watched the staring contest between Hel and Jake, his eyes darting from one form to the other until they finally began to move. Oh boy! What was next on this adventure? Mot smirked and got to hsi feet, dusting himself off before trotting behind his female buddies.
He was certainly acting more like himself, humming a tune under his breath as he walked behind the group.

No sooner had they exited the Saloon when a screamed echoed in the distance. Jake merely looked back before pointing in the direction it had come from, his beady eyes staring down Hel shortly before walking that way. The gnome's boots clanked the entire way as he hobbled down the Saloon steps and down the dusty road until they came within feet of a general store where the scream echoed from again. Inside there were two bandits who had a woman, no doubt the store owner, tied to the main support beam while they looted for things they wanted, every once in a while taunting the defenseless woman. " Best get to work Heroes," The gnome grinned a bit as he shot that taunting tone back toward Hel. " Try not to get shot down this time." OCCRules Surprise Attack Round Everyone has 10 HP (bandits and players) To fire: choose at bandit in your post (Bandit1, Bandit2,) and roll 2D6. The first die determines a hit or miss (evens = hit / odd = miss). The second die determines the damage dealt. Bandits have the same chances of doing damage. The party, as a whole, currently has 3 revives that Jake the gnome can might give them. You can untie the woman at any time but you forfeit an attack during the fight by doing so. Roll 1D20, anything above a 10 is a success in getting the rope untied. Hel certainly seemed to have an intense stare when she was looking at Jake. If the little gnome wasn't so mean Mitsu might have actually worried about his well being. Still a little nervous from the last encounter it took a moment for Mitsu's legs to get moving again, staring up at Mot as he came to walk between her and Hel. He seemed to be in a much better mood, the humming was a good sign. Too bad Mitsu was completely freaked out the scream putting her more on edge, though she felt she was hiding it well. Still, a nervous impulse had her reaching out a free hand to grab hold of Mot's sleeve. Normally she would do this with Shun but he wasn't here. Hopefully Mot wouldn't mind. " W..what's going to happen next?" Mitsu stuttered looking at the shop ahead of them. There were only two bandits this time. Surely it would be easier to handle with the three of them?

Hel seemed on guard as they stepped out of the saloon and then heard the scream, tensing, before staring back down at the gnome again. Her brow twitched as she followed after him, only then to be mocked. “How about you do your job quicker this time!” Hel snapped back. “I’ve seen necromancers raise a herd of skeletal horses faster!”
The reaper stared at the store, and then looked back at her two companions. “I’m going to go for the hostage!” She called back to the two, and in true Hel fashion, just dove right into the store. She dashed over to the main beam and upon reaching it, tried undoing the rope, but was having trouble.
First the gnome, now the rope! Great.
“We’ll get you out of here!” She uttered to the store owner, gritting her teeth as she tried tugging at the rope.

The slight tug on his sleeve was not unnoticed. Mot looked down on the timid lupine and smiled softly. "No worries, Mitsu. I'll protect you." Yes. Protecting a frightened ghoul was the gentlemanly thing to do. It made the boil feel good knowing he could help.
Their new assignent was issued, Hel ran in head first to save the hostage, and Mot pulled up his gun at the ready. "Stay behind me, I'll try and be your shield, Mitsu." The reaper walked into the building, immediately taking a shot at the first bandit he saw.

((1/2 Mitsu's shot at Bandit 1, 3/4 aimed at Hel, 5/6 aimed at Mot))
"Ah, Hel, Be careful!" Mitsu called after the Valkyrie as she rushed into the building to free the woman. Though, as instructed Mitsu stayed behind Mot as they approached, her fingers clutching the back of his long coat as she peeked around him. It was at least comforting to know the reaper would do his best to keep her safe. It at least had her advancing with him instead of running away.
His shot fired and clipped a bandit and Hel was left to fiddle with the rope binding the woman. Mitsu should probably give her back up as well. Bringing up her gun Mitsu did her best to aim hoping her luck would hold out but once she fired she really only clipped the other man's arm.
The bandits were quick to move once the action started. Hel had rushed in and one was quick to aim getting in a fairly good shot at the reaper. The other bandit wasn't as good of a shot missing his target completely. His shooting lessons had not paid off.
As they broke off diving for cover to avoid being hit again they tried to bide their time before trying again. To Hel's attempt at untying a rope, it was hard to tell but it sounded like there was a light snicker coming from the doorway.
"Ah, thank you Miss!" The woman perked as Hel came to untie her, or try to. "Truly you are a saint, if you help me I will be sure to give you something in return."

For her efforts of rushing in, Hel was welcomed with a ‘bullet’ to the chest. Okay…that stung just a tiny bit! Just a bit! The reaper made a small face as red drizzled all down the front of her apron, but still she stuck to trying to get the rope undone. Her efforts quadrupled when she heard what sounded like a snicker coming from the door.
Jacking gnome.
The valkyrie, eager to show that gnome that she could totally do this, grabbed a piece of rope with both of her hands and pulled on it hard and after a moment it just seemed to explode into pieces. “Ha!” Hel called out triumphantly, reaching to grasp the store keeper’s wrist and pull her away from the support beam. She let her go, steering her off in the direction of a safe, covered area. “Take cover for now, while we take care of them!” She directed, before diving back over to where Mitsu and Mot were.

Missed entirely? Mot was lucky it seemed. He smirked boastfully at the bandit's miss and fired back at the same guy, his smirk becoming a grin. "Hide all you want, partner~! I'll get you."
Apparently Mot was getting rather into this game...
Unfortunatly his boasting gave the bandit time to duck, which left Mot's bullet only enough room to graze the enemy. Damn. Mot hissed, edging Mitsu away as he looked for cover.and ducked for cover

((1/2 Mitsu's shot, 3/4 shot aimed at Mitsu, 5/6 shot aimed at Mot))
Success, Hel had managed to free the woman and gratefully she followed Hel to cover. "Thank you, kindly, screechheart." She called grasping the reaper's hand tightly before she managed to pull away to fire. In Hel's hand she would find a special paintball. What did it do exactly?
((For saving the woman, Hel's next shot is guaranteed to hit and can cause more damage. Roll 1d12))
The bandits didn't take kindly to this situation. Ducking for cover one crouched behind a storage barrel with the other one hopped over the counter. The bandit that had shot at Mot got graze across the shoulder but that was nothing. Cocking his gun he took aim but instead of hitting the reaper boil he hit the little lady the cowboil was trying to herd to a safe place.
The other bandit decided to give his comrade backup, leaning over the counter and popping a shot at Mot. It wasn't the best of aim but it still hit!
---
Mitsu tried to stay close to Mot and it seemed their luck was starting off well. At least for the two of them, Hel had already been hit. Shuffling her feet as Mot tried to move her to a safe area Mitsu was about to join him in his hiding spot when a paintball smacked her in the side.
"Ow!," Mitsu scrambled then, diving for cover and clinging to Mot like he was a life line. The paintball had stung, Mitsu had no idea they would feel like that getting hit by one. QQ A little shaky it seemed that during her escapade to hide her gun had gone off shooting a paintball off into no where. She would have to reload.

Hel lunged for where her friends were taking covering, pulling the shop keeper with her. “Howdy, friends.” The reaper greeted them with a grin before examining the special paintball on her hand. Ooh! What could this do? Eager to find out, Hel quickly fiddled with her gun, loading the new ‘bullet’ in. “No, thank you, kindly!” She returned back to the shop keep before she stood, aiming at the bandits.
“Gardyloo!” Was the only thing the valkyrie shouted before she fired.

Mot gasped. Mitsu had been hit! He'd failed as a proper body guard! OH NOOOO!
Mot had to get back at that nasty bandit for harming the lupine! The cowboil peered over their hiding spot to take a shot at the offender. However, in his haste he ended up hitting the ground in front of him.
Fail.

((1/2 Mitsu's shot at Bandit 2, 3/4 shot at Hel, 5/6 shot at Mot, 7/8 shot at Mitsu))
Hel's shot was right on the mark. The first bandit was hit square in the chest paint running down his front. In a dramatic fashion he fell to the ground as if he had really been shot, a dying gasp escaping their lips.
The second bandit was a tad luckier as he took cover behind a stack of flour bags, Mot's shot hitting the floor. He was all alone now. That just wouldn't do. Bringing his free hand to his mouth he used his fingers to help make a short sharp whistle. "Clyde! Willard!"
At the call two more bandits entered the room though they didn't look nearly as well equipped as the prior bandits. In fact, they looked a little simple.
Mitsu babied the spot on her side for a moment longer before she tried to push it out of her mind. It was only mildly discomforting, nothing she couldn't get passed. She was sure she had a bruise though.
A little leery to take fire again Mitsu jumped at the sound of the whistle. It made her gun take fire as she accidentally pulled the trigger but as luck would have it the paint ball bounced before hitting the wall behind the bandit and splattering paint down on his head. Not a direct hit but it was better than nothing. It still left her open though as the new bandits came in, one clipping her in the side once again. This time she held her tongue trying her best not to cry out.
