Could someone tell which part of the book did they get the bit where Zaphod, Ford and Arthur get smacked in the faces with those shovel things? After watching the trailer I couldn't figure it out.

Spike_Theta Alright Meatless Cheeze one... let's try another tactic... Marvin sounds like Alan Rickman who sounds like Professor Snape. mrgreen Also like the boss dude with the wife and kid in Love Actually. ...come to think of it, also in "Love Actually" was Bill Nighy, as the washed-out aged pop star dude who finds love with... that... person who... *edited: spoiler* (even if I did say something terribly witty involiving flower arrangers and waterboys crying ) Ahh, thankya. xP Yes, I saw "Love, Actually". I liked it. ^_^

Silvertanuki I really like the teaser too. "And I think to myself... what a wonderful wor-" *Earth explodes* xd BWAHAHA! That's HILARIOUS! Finally, FINALLY saw the trailer. Have heard from random sources that the UK/international trailer, at least, contains "Journey of the Sorceror". However, Americans are apparently too stupid to appreciate music without a thumping beat. crying Anyway, yay. And I like the regular trailer more than the exclusive trailer on the nature of trailers, although the bit about "a voiceover that sounds like a seven-foot tall man who has been smoking since childhood" is funny and true! xd "True love", though. Ecch. Ptooey. As I commented to some guy on AIM the other night, someone should have midnight screenings of the movie, a la the Rocky Horror Picture Show, so everyone can yell "FENCHURCH!" or something, during the kissing scenes. xp Actually we could give Trillian the same epithet as Janet, but I don't think she deserves it, as she is merely the victim of a tacked-on romantic subplot...

I am so going to do that during the movie! Well, probably not during the first couple screenings. Likely I'll just mutter it under my breath. I love yelling at movies a la RHPS. I've been to said midnight screenings, and I have a tendency to yell at Lord of the Rings a lot, too. Frodo: Go home, Sam. Sam: *sits down and cries* me: Don't worry Sam! Don't cry! It never really happened!

It never really happened! The option would also be open to yell, "FORD!" Did you see during the trailer, where Ford and Arthur are leaving Earth, and Ford's got his arm around Arthur? whee Aww... that'd be the part for all the slashers in the audience to yell something and reveal themselves. xd Though, if that doesn't work out, I've always been a proponent of FordxRandom as well...

Ford and Arthur. I can already see the slough of slash fanfiction headed our way. It is, however, a cute mental image, Ford with his arm around Arthur. But for Ford and Random.....she's kind of young for him. Plus you'd think he'd be kind of reluctant to be in the same room alone with her, considering their first meeting......hit in the head twice with a sharp pointy rock.....now that I think of it, I don't think I'd want to be alone in a room with her either! She's scary!

She's scary! ...he got hit in the head twice with a sharp pointy rock after all, who says he can ever remember their first meeting? xd As for youth, Random's age is fluctuationally indeterminate - and note that after making her aquaintance, he asks Arthur, "Who was that woman?" Perhaps on Betelgeuse 5, Random would already be considered of age. But if you think about it, Ford and Random have a lot in common...I mean, Ford's dad was from a planet that was depopulated (if not outright destroyed) before Ford was even born - and then dies of shame, leaving Ford with no connection with his own heritage. So what does Ford do? Grows up and gets a job wandering the universe, never really settling down anywhere, getting drunk a lot, etc.... And Random? Hey, look, another missing heritage. She just reacts violently because she's too young to drink (or should be) wink Actually, she's got it better than Ford because she at least still has Arthur to talk to, and can also pronounce her own name. ...I do admit, however, that I've only come up with this pairing as a contingency plan in the event that Ford/Arthur falls through (because, after all, Fenchurch is a nice girl). whee Ford must be loved! crying And if all else fails, hell, I'll Mary Sue myself in th- eek FordxTrillian? whee Naaah.... ...naah, right? eek ninja

You bring up many good points. Spike_Theta Ford must be loved! And if all else fails, hell, I'll Mary Sue myself in Not if I get there first! haha! Spike_Theta FordxTrillian? Naaah.... ...naah, right? Naah. Zaphod might get jealous. But then, she had a fling with Zaphod, and a child with Arthur (despite the entire lack of contact), Ford might be feeling a bit left out.....hmm....

ORGY! whee I'm sorry, I don't know where that came from. confused Ahem. Anyway, also a good point. Ford/Trillian is now actually vaguely a possibility in my mind. ...no, I'm not talking about the orgy. We're done with the orgy. whee xd ...personally I don't care for Trillian much anyway. sweatdrop Even Douglas admits he was never quite sure what to do with her...of course he got intimidated writing about women anyway. wink
