Aponi fell in behind her as his mind went down old forgotten paths of memories. Once he'd had a mother and a father, though it was quite a long time ago...and once they were part of a herd. Once there was someone who cared. Would it be like that again?
"How far is it?" He asked curious.

She'd glanced back to see if he was following, luckily for her as she'd caught a bit of his mouth moving in speech. She mulled this over some as she walked, trying to make out what he'd been saying. Before she'd managed to put it all together on just a snippet, her attention was drawn by Binky.
"It's not too far.. honestly she doesn't travel more than maybe a day or two's walk away from her father's herd.. unless that is she has a reason to..." She giggled still on her perched spot on his back.

Aponi squared his shoulders and set on his way with her, he directed his question more at Binky instead of Idonea, "Have you always been with her?"

Binky shook her head. "The Sippy gave Binky her fluffy pet." She beamed proudly. "He gave her to me as a present of love" She giggled and hid her face behind her paws a moment. "Nea was grown when I met her." She nodded to give her words weight.
Still Idonea pressed on, hopping over a small divot in the ground the rain had made to flow down to where ever it was going. Her eyes carefully scanned about ahead of her as she lead the way.

Aponi tilted his head in consideration. "Sippy? What's a Sippy?" He'd never before heard the term before. Just talking though with Binky made him feel better, she was so light and fluffy...and well, just kind.

Binky beamed. "Sippy is bat winged coon too." She fluttered her tattered little wings and giggled lightly. "He is Binky's some one special." She pulled her tail around her, petting it fondly and hugged it as though she might be hugging Sippy too.
Idonea stopped, turning to look at the two of them, waiting for them to catch up some before high hoofing it up a hillside. Her bell jingled madly to the jolt and shake of her body as she trudged up the slightly steep hillside. "Not much further really." She called back not stopping to see if he'd answer.

He was making a new life. He was moving forward, trying to successfully get better. What could he do if he didn't move on? She wouldn't be happy if he didn't. She wouldn't forgive him with if he just gave up because she wasn't there anymore. She wanted him to be happy...For now, he'd just be happy for her. One day maybe it would mean more than that--maybe he'd be happy for him.
"Sippy sounds great Binky, I"m glad you have him. How did you meet him? When do you see him?" He nodded at Idonea. "I"m a bit nervous now," he answered honestly.
He was about meet what would be his kind of sort of family for a while. He took a deep breath. I can do this, he thought.

Binky grinned wide. "I see Sippy when our pets have no need for us to be around.. some times we meet up and some times we get brought together by our pets." She giggled impishly. "Sippy found Binky sleeping... No worries... the big gathering of pets is nice... Specially the long tailed one Tiny.. but nice."
Idonea led them through game trails, careful to catch the scent of any predators following the same trails. She was taking the safe rout, safe from crossing through some one else's territory.

"Tiny?" Aponi questioned with a smile. "It must be nice to get together like that. I'm glad you have your Sippy then." Binky sounded so happy, so..in love and content. She had found everything she wanted. She felt safe. She loved him.
He couldn't feel unhappy for her, but he felt jealous. What he wouldn't give to feel that way again. Safe. Happy. In love. Just the memory of it was warming. The moments of nuzzling in the night, of hiding in the storms. Their was luxarious flights in the sky where they would sore first big then small. They'd drink nectar from flowers, be happy and content in the mere presence of each other.
Just being near each other was enough. Just being near Charlotte had been electrifying like a current running through his body. That's what love had always felt like for him...and the absence of it was disabling. It was like a drought in a place that thrives only on water. But did anyone ever thrive without love?
No, no one really ever thrived without love.

"Well.. tiny compared to most of her family and herd-mates.. She's not a very big mare.. she or her daughter." She chuckled lightly. She chattered on a while longer as she rode on Idonea's back, fluttering her bat wings lightly.As the other two conversed, she continued her rout taking them deeper into the herd's territory. "We're almost there..." She stated without looking back for a reply. She picked her was through a dense over growth of bushes before finally stopping and turning to look at the small stallion. "We're here."

Here. Aponi wondered at the word. Would they really accept him? He'd been looking for something, for someone to help him past the darkness for a long time. Maybe this was it, to associate himself with them and find a reason to keep on living. Friends, a family. "Are you sure it's okay?"

Again Binky had to answer the the stallion's questions. "I'm sure it will be fine, Idonea wouldn't have brought you along if she thought that Shoshana would have an issue. After all Once her own mother took off with her sister, Shoshana was about the only other mother figure Idonea had. She told me all about it when she was given to me."Idonea looked back and gave the two of them a smile. "Shall I leave the two of you here while I go look for the herd's leader?" She stopped, waiting for the answer. It was Binky's look and fluttering over to his back that let her know it was ok to continue on ahead of them. "Binky, Keep him out of trouble ok? If Meykal or Oracle turn up just let them know it's my doing." She didn't think they'd have an issue with it even if they did, but if they did ask, she didn't want them getting into trouble. With that said, she trotted off to where she knew the older mare was likely to be at this time of day.

Aponi nodded his head and waited, letting his mind drift. The best thing that had happened in his life was when he had met his beloved Charlotte. He'd been open to her, ready and willing for anything....Even though it had led to heartbreak, he woudl have done it again. He loved Charlotte more than anything. A new realization came over him, she wouldn't want him to shut down. Even if he didn't care right now...she woudl have. So even if it was too hard, he had to keep on for her--stay open and carefree like she did. He had to live, because she didn't. Because she didn't. Aponi took a deep breath, "I can start over here." I can, he kept telling himself.

It didn't take too long and the sound of the chiming bell rang out Idonea's return as she walked along. Beside her was a considerably small mare with a dusty rose coat and long white mane and tail that was decorated with red roses. Idonea stopped just short of Aponi and Binky before turning to see both parties better. "Shoshana.. this is the stallion I told you about.. Aponi.."Shoshanna nodded her head in greeting, a warm smile warming her features. "Greetings... I hear you seek refuge, some place to belong." She waited, watching the other stallion for a moment to see if his desire was true. if he did want to join them he would be welcome no matter if it was to join permanently or the stay a little while.

"I need refuge for awhile, I need to...find a better place for myself." It felt right to finally admit that he needed help, that he'd been very depressed. "I can't do this on my own, not anymore. I need..." He didn't know what he needed, only that he needed it.
