Ayamae pulled the vials off the rack and eyed each one. Each seemed to be just the right color and consistency. That was all she needed.
"10 Points to Ghaleon, Fionna, Helen, and Lena! Well done, all of you."
She tapped the chalkboard and all the instructions and materials needed for the potion disappeared...and the instructions and materials for the next potion appeared.

Cough Potion
MATERIALS:
1 tsp. black beetle eyes.
1 unicorn tail hair
3 drops essence of eucalyptus
2 cups water
INSTRUCTIONS:
STEP #1: Crush your beetle eyes with mortar and pestle.
STEP #2: Heat up your water to a rolling boil.
STEP #3: Add beetle eyes and unicorn tail hair.
STEP #4: Allow it to brew for 5 minutes. Should turn a dark red.
STEP #5: Add 3 drops essence of eucalyptus.
STEP #6: Allow to cool.
STEP #7: Bring up to my desk for grading.

Caiden walked into the classroom after the last day for the other potion
making and smiled to see that he was the first one ready to make the new
potion. He could get this one done and over with, and possibly have a good
grade for getting it done early. This made him happy.
Caiden wrote out all of the directions to the potion. He knew that if he had
the directions right in front of him, along with the measurements, he could do
the potion easier. He then very carefully got all of his supplies out and the
ingredients needed to start. This was where he decided to start to crush up
the beetle eyes with a mortar and pestle, carefully moving the the pestle in
the mortar over the beetle eyes. He knew that the correct motion for crushing
the beetle was required, so he wouldn't mess it up.
Then, after he decided it was sufficient, he grabbed his cauldron and
measured out two cups of water to put into it. With his wand, he used the
incendio spell he learned a year or so ago to start a fire under the cauldron.
This made it much easier, since the heat from that spell was much more
concentrated than anything from a burner. Finally, the pot came to a boil. He
was on a role with this potion this time.

As Caiden continued to add ingredients, such as the beetle eyes and the unicorn tail hair, he smiled as he had to take a break from making the potion. He had been timing it very carefully, and he had his three drops of eucalyptus ready. He watched as the potion began to turn red. It was light so far, but it had plenty of time to turn dark. It was still boiling, which was a good thing he thought. He wasn't positive though. He had remembered reading about this potion in the book he had from this morning, but he didn't remember much.
The potion had turned dark red, just like it should have. He waited the full five minutes, which was an agonizing five minutes, in which he started his assignment for Transfiguration. He wanted his questions from that class to be in essay form, since it would look more professional. He didn't get very far, but that killed the five minutes of time. When it was five minutes later, though, he dropped in three drops of essence of eucalyptus. Then, he had much more time to work on his Transfiguration homework essay thing.

Andrew Hark...
"I get to make a healing potion!" Andrew thought jubilantly as he walked through the dungeons. He opened the door, "Hello," he said to the professor Akahana. "I'm Andrew Hark, a Ravenclaw first year." Taking a seat, he began reading the instructions on the board.
"So I've gotta crush beetle eyes with mortar and pestle? Weird. But this is the Wizarding world." He gathered the ingredients and began smushing his beetle eyes.
"There. All crushed. Now... A rolling boil." He heated his water to a scalding hot level and waited.
"Now I add the beetle eyes and unicorn hair." he dropped the items in the cauldron and some water splashed out and burned him. "Ow! Hot! Hot! So hot!" He bellowed, waving his hand.
The heated enventually subsided he was brewing. "5....4......3......2.....1- Time to add eucalyptus!" Dropping it in.
"Now it just has to cool."
The Potion cooled for ten minutes before turning to a pretty ruby color.
"Now that's potion brewing." He said triumphantly, bringing it up.
"So how'd I do?" He asked the professor.

Lena walked into the classroom and, with a smile, waved at the professor. 'Hello, Professor Akahana!' She headed towards one of the desks at the back of the room and sat down, reading the board. The young brunette firstly wrote down the recipe for the cough potion in her notebook and collected every tool and ingredient she would be needing for this potion. After doing so, she began crushing the beetle eyes with the mortar and pestle until she had the sufficient amount. Next, Lena began to heat up the cauldron using the simple flame charm, and waited until it contents began to bubble vigorously to add the crushed beetle eyes and unicorn hair. She then began cleaning the mortar and pestle while she waited for five minutes to pass.

Ayamae took the new boy's vial and looked it up and down.
"Fabulous job. Ten points to Ravenclaw."
She handed it back to him and sat down on her desk, waiting for more people to bring their work up.
((K, so, it just came to my attention that we should be working on the burn healing potion, BUT, we're a little behind. SO, we're scrapping the burn healing potion. Huzzah.))

Helen walked into the classroom again, filled with excitement as she always was coming into potions. Today they were doing cough potions - great! She had helped her mother make these more often than not, as her other siblings didn't care for potions, and the neighbours were always in need of them (living in Ireland meant having a nearly perpetual cold). Helen put on the water to boil first, against the Professors instructions, as her mother had taught her that if you don't the beetle eyes won't work as well as they should. After the water was starting to simmer, she crushed up the eyes, and popped them into the water when it boiled up, adding the unicorn hair also. Now for 5 minutes of a wait - snack time! Helen thought, and she pulled out a wispa bar whilst looking at everyone working on their potions.

She picked up what she needed and went to her cauldron. She carefully added 1 teaspoon of beetles' eyes and crushed them with care then added 2 cups of water and watched it intently until it was boiling just right. Next she dropped in the crushed beetles' eyes and 1 unicorn hair. 5 minutes later... After letting it brew for 5 minutes she checked the color then went to add the eucalyptus essence, as she was about to get the 3rd drop in she felt something bump her leg and looked down out of reaction. It was just her cat, Phantom, but when she had looked down she hadn't realized she had accidentally added 2 more drops than what she needed. After allowing it to cool she brought it up to the Professor's desk, hoping she had crushed the beetles' eyes right.
