Riyo had realized her folly before divulging the 'other time'. It was a mistake to talk about these things. In the end, a lot of fantasies she'd imagined up as a child involved her parents in some capacity, and with things the way they were, thinking about that only made her feel stupid.
"Nooooo, really?" a cowboy? For real. "I never would've guessed with that hat and getup." The little smirk came back, but it seemed she never really smiled proper.
The fact that he had been stuck inside a lot surprised Riyo like it did when Mitsu had told her about the same thing. "I never had a problem going out and around... It's been that way since I was five." There had been nobody to stop her, after all. Nobody at home. It was.. Empty.
"But... I didn't run away again after that. Mother was home when I came back..." Then there was silence. Riyo's eyes glanced off to the side as they continued walking, rather uncomfortable with his choices in conversation. "I... Guess I wanted to be a princess for a little while when I was a kid." When the maids were around, they'd always call her that. Always encouraging her to be happy. "I really liked-" Can't use that word. Nope. Don't want to look stupid. "F-feminine attire." That'll work. "I still climbed trees and stuff, though.."

"I know right? Shocking! What a crazy kid I was." Mot was mostly amusing himself, but he was glad he managed to get a smirk out of the ghoul.
Mot could never imagine being able to run around freely at five. His mother spent a lot of that time trying to force facts into his head. It didn't work too well, given his attention span at the time.
Mot had to stop himself short of chuckling. A princess. That was typical of ghouls, right? "Now that is adorable." He commented with a smirk. Feminine attire? Did that mean frilly dresses and bows? Mot snorted. The image of Riyo dressed in such a way was hilarious. She seemed a little too regal to wear such things as she was. "A-anyway.." He cleared his throat, not wishing to insult her as much as he could.
"Okay, another question. If there was one thing you could do in the name of fun, what would it be? Other than reading." While he had a few ideas, most of them took place outside town. That was out of the question, especially for a spur of the moment adventure.

"Yes, a princess." She mumbled, a small tint of red staining her cheeks. "I'm sure most people would find it hard to believe I wasn't always this bitchy." Yeah. She knew she was bitchy. She strove to be that way. "And... I didn't always dress like this." But that was something she was not willing to discuss.
Folding her arms, the feline pondered Mot's question. Half of her wanted to tell him that HE was the one with an imagination so HE could come up with something, but... "Explore a forest." She quickly spat out. One in particular, but she wouldn't say anything about that. "You up for that, cowboy?"

Mot waved a hand of dismissal around, shrugging slightly. "Aw, you aren't that bitchy." He was kind of lying. Only a little. At least she was civil now. "I like the way you dress. Very classy." He commented. Of course he was also a big fan of hats. It wasn't to say Riyo wouldn't look good in dresses, he just couldn't picture it.
"Oh, nice. I like it." Exploring forests sounded fun, but he wondered if there was a way to make it more interesting. "I'm in for a forest adventure." Maybe they could find one that was bordering on dangerous to liven it up!
Soon enough, one came into view. Splendid~. "Okay!" Mot grinned and pushed his hat down further on his head. "Let's see what's on the other side of these woods!"

Riyo knew he was just trying to make her feel better, not that she really needed that. Most of what she did was on purpose to encourage distance between her and others. Not ALL of it was on purpose... But a good chunk.
At least somebody liked her clothes besides her, though it wasn't much from a western clad gentleman who looked like he was ready for the kiddie corral to start. It was hard to keep the rude comments to herself, since she was used to just letting them fly... But she was doing a pretty good job (so far).
"Well alright then." The forest it was. She had explored the urban jungle numerous times before, but wilderness was something she had yet to venture in.
When they finally reached the heavily timbered chunk of land, the feline wondered if she was appropriately dressed for such a venture. Also how long this 'adventure' would take. There was paperwork waiting back at her dorm, after all.
Oh well. More trial and error. There was always the tailor. "Lets get this over with." The ghoul sighed, mimicking the cowboil by pushing her own hat down and marching in. She wasn't afraid of woods or danger. Nope. People scared her much more than trees. "What do you think we'll find, Mr. Expert Adventurer?" If Riyo had to guess a lot of nothing. Maybe a couple of animals here and there. Some that might not be happy to see them... But other than that..

"Merriment and wonder?" He answered with a smirk, traversing the woodland trail with long strides. His mind was searching wildly for something to make this trip into the woods worth while.
Fate would be doing all the work for him.
Little did Mot realized, this area was riddled with danger. The first of which was a trap he had fallen into once before. The ground beneath the two students dipped down, as if it wasn't quite firm enough to hold their weight. A loud snap was heard, and the ground beneath the pair caved in, causing them to fall a good several feet down.
Mot may have shrieked.

"Oh yeah. Merriment and wonder. So plentiful in forests like this. Mhm." Not that she'd really know. Perhaps it WAS filled with just that. Ugly little leprechauns running around with cursed gold or something stupid like that.
The sound of something snapping made the feline's ears perk, her head snapping around to look at the cowboil "What was- FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!" Riyo screamed all the way to the ground, only to be stopped by the thud of her body hitting the bottom.
Worst of all, her hat had been left at the top of this Jack-forsaken hole. Okay. Maybe not worst of all. But it still sucked.
"Ow." the ghoul mumbled, hoping if she kept her eyes closed long enough the whole event would just un-happen.

The space on the bottom of the hole was cramped at best, it was hard not to notice that blaring fact. "Okay.. not the best start to our adventure.." Mot hissed, managing a chuckle. "But it's okay! This can still be a fun adventure!" Maybe their grand escape from the hole could be a fun game!
With a groan, Mot tried to wriggle free from confinement. Unfortunately for Riyo, the place he moved to rest his hand as leverage for getting himself up happened to be Riyo's chest. "OH ACK--" Realizing his mistake rather quickly, Mot let go and fell backward further down the hole, ending up practically on his head and shoulders. Ow. "S-sorry!" He stammered with a red face.

Yeah. Riyo was starting to wonder just how good an idea this whole thing had been. Impulses, she'd learned, usually ended up with her at the bottom (just like now).
Figuring it was a little too late to wait for this event to fix itself, the feline's eyes opened.
Just in time to see Mot's hand where it wasn't supposed to be.
Mot would no longer have to imagine what the sound of Riyo squeaking would be like, because that's exactly what she did. The feline's face went from a faint peach color to tomato red in seconds, trying to shove herself as far away from him as she could... Which wasn't very far.
That certainly hadn't happened before... "I... Um.. This.. You..." Her ears folded back like a frightened animal, arms instinctively covering her chest. "... I need to get out of here." Too close. Way too close. The closer proximity of a person, the less her brain seemed to work.
Quietly, the ghoul started to remove her coat... Which was a little embarrassing considering the circumstances, but when it was unbuttoned, she quickly removed it and tossed it to the surface. She'd already ruined one coat, no need to do the same with this one. Depending on how moist the dirt was, the ghoul might be able to climb out. "W-what are we gonna do if we can't get out?" Riyo asked nervously as she tried to grab hold of the walls, the fact that she was still embarrassed obvious.

Okay. Situation? Pretty embarrassing. It was hard for Mot not to feel guilty for how the day was going. Were it not for him, Riyo would have had her books and gone home. For now, Mot pushed away that horrid feeling, shifting uncomfortably to try and sit up again. "I'm sorry. I-it's okay! We're going to get out of here.." Unfortunately for either of them, his tone was less than convincing.
"Don't think like that!" Mot scrambled to his feet, attempting to climb the muddy wall. "I'm sure climbing up won't be too haa--AAAAHHH!" If the sound of him screaming didn't give it away, looking to the cowboil showed he had somehow triggered a switch in the hole's wall. An opening formed and Mot had fallen through it.
There was silence for a moment.
"Woooooah... Riyo! I found a tunnel!" Came Mot's voice from within.

Don't think like that? The ghoul was having trouble thinking at all. All she wanted to do was get to the top of this hole and hide away in her room...
But it looked like the mud would work against her. The only thing she succeeded in doing was making her clothes filthy and dampening her spirits. Oh great, what had Mot done now? Turning back to look at the boil, an eyebrow raised when she noticed the opening in the wall that hadn't been there before. "What the..." Her mind temporarily forgot the awkward situation in favor of investigating this new area.
Wiping her hands off on her already muddy pants, Riyo poked her head into the dark tunnel. "Where... Does this go?" She asked, though she didn't figure Mot would know. "You owe me a new set of clothes, by the way." Figured she'd toss that out there while her eyes adjusted to the darkness. It was more of a joke than anything, but Riyo doubted the cowboil could see her smirk in the dark anyways. "I hope you've got a light of some kind. Might be a little hard for you to navigate this." And she wasn't about to hold his hand.

"What?!" Mot snapped his head to the side, a look of horror as he eyed her clothing. "I don't have the kind of money to replace clothes like that! Just give them a good wash." Clothes were clothes. What did a little mud matter? A good wash and clothes were clean. Buying new ones because of a little dirt seemed incredibly wasteful to the reaper.
Had he seen the smirk, perhaps he may have realized the joke.
A light? Mot grimaced, patting down his pockets for something. "Err..." The boil feared he'd find nothing, and would have to try and climb the hole again. However, in his frustration, he kicked the wall.. hard. As he winced and hopped while holding his stubbed toe and cursing, the place in the obviously stone wall he'd hit made a noise. Soon, candles flicked on all the way down the tunnel.
Mot stopped whining long enough to regard this new discovery. "Oh...kay..." This HAD to be a way out, right? Or even maybe a path to treasure! Mot cleared his throat and fixed his posture back to normal. "Well then, why not continue our adventure, yes?" The reaper smiled sheepishly, then headed the way down the hallway.

Riyo was about to ask what if her clothes were dry clean only, but the fact that Mot seemed... Unprepared for this adventure perked her attention. "I thought you were an adv-" She started to comment as she watched him kick the wall, stopping mid-word as the candles flickered on.
"... Adventurer." For a moment Riyo stood there awestruck at the fact that candles turned on out of nowhere. "What the hell is this?" Seriously? A hidden switch that someone accidentally triggered? This didn't happen outside of story books, did it? "... Did you somehow set this up knowing I'd fall for it?" WAIT.
"... Have other people fallen for this? Are you going to try and rob me?" ... Or worse? Still, she followed him... Warily. She could kick his a** if she needed to, right? Jericho's training had been successful thus far. She could take him, couldn't she?
Her eyes noted something up ahead. Was it another room? "I warn you, I don't fight like a ghoul." Big surprise. She didn't dress or act like one either.

Mot whipped his head around, absolutely horrified that Riyo would think him some kind of lech. Luring a ghoul to a dark place? Take advantage? Rob?! He held a hand over his chest dramataically, wincing at her words. "I would never!" Mot huffed, crossing his arms and turning away.
A ghoul he did not fight like a ghoul? How ironic. She was in the presence of a boil who did not fight like a bil. Or at least not as well as most other boils. Most other boils actually won fights sometimes. "Dont worry, because I do." He sniped in response, making it seem like a joke.
Mot grunted as he marched further into the tunnel. This was not a fun adventure at all! He was totally losing this battle. There had better be treasure at the end of the tunnel to make it all worth it.
As if fate wished to sack the boil in the balls some more, a rumble rung through the tunnel. Mot stumbled and swayed in place as he halted his steps. Whatever was coming, it was getting closer....

"Okay, okay! I get it." Now that she thought about it, the idea of this guy robbing anyone was a little ridiculous. "Look, I wasn't accusing you of anything-" In her mind she was. "-This whole situation just seems very odd." Or maybe it wasn't. She didn't get out much and explore forests or search for adventure. Maybe this WAS a daily occurrence for successful adventurers.
He was pissed now, wasn't he? Jeez. How aggravating. Moreover, why did she even care? So what if he was pissed? She had pissed off other people before. "Alright, whatever. I'm s-"
Before she was able to get the half-hearted apology out, the sound of rumbling caught her ears. "... Um. Considering how most fiction adventures go... Should we start running now?" The feline asked, taking a couple of steps back as she prepared to retreat.
