He laughed out loud at that look. "Man, you are SO much like your owner," he said, shaking his head with amusement. "She probably named you something pretty, like a flower name, or something foreign," he said. "Sorry, I'll have to ask her the next time I see her to find out. Me... I usually name my pets after music terms," he went on. "I mean, other than Jackdammit. But hey, he pretty much named himself. I got Clef and Riff... but you... I think I'd name you..."
He looked at her thoughtfully. "Aria," he decided. "Yeah, you look like an Aria. And that ain't a word I'd use, usually," he added, cocking his head slightly before smiling at her. "But I should probably just stick with Screechie. It's rude to name someone else's pet."

Xiu had to admit, had she had a pet that looked like how she did, she probably would name her with either a flower name or a foreign one. Roch was...completely on the mark in that sense--he knew her a lot better than she thought.
...Though it was still amusing that he hadn't considered that she could possibly be a student's natural form. Perhaps someone would recognize her as a Baku and mention it in the passing to the reaper. Would he connect all the dots then, and realize what was going on?
Though she couldn't voice out aloud, Xiu thought that the name Aria was quite a lovely one, actually. Roch had pretty good taste in names, though Jackdamnit...well, that wasn't bad rather than just amusing. When he decided that he shouldn't name her anything else, she wagged her tail and began to pat his shoulder approvingly, but paused mid-way.
............When she thought about it, having a close friend call her "Screechie" was a little awkward. H-hm...

Before he noticed her reticence the band was walking onto the stage, much to the cheers of the crowd, including his own. The reaper boil raised the arm that wasn't holding her, waving a fist in the air as he jumped up and down, bellowing his cheers. The reapers on stage were older than he was, looking to be in their late twenties, or thirties, but somehow they seemed to be alike, or at least have a lot in common. As the first song started Roch seemed to forget that he was holding her completely, his arm staying in position but the rest of him so focused on the music that it was almost as if she'd been abandoned. A shadow shifted behind them, and the man from before appeared, holding out his hands to take her with a wicked grin that was almost exactly like Roch's. His fingers curled, motioning for her to come.

Having never been to a concert herself--or at least, definitely not one anything like this--the Baku wasn't sure what to make of the crowd or the excitement that rippled over everyone. The music though, she quite enjoyed, even if she wasn't the jumping and cheering type of ghoul. Instead, she sat there docilely as Roch did the jumping for her. The fact that his grip around her was loosening concerned her a little though--at this rate, she was going to fall if she wasn't careful!
However, when the man from before appeared again, Xiu immediately perked up with curiosity. Could he really be who she thought he was? Noticing that he was beckoning for her, the ghoul cast him a hesitant glance. She looked towards Roch, and then back to the man, before coming to a decision. Hoping that she wouldn't end up regretting it, she wriggled free from the reaper's loose grip, dropping to the floor and taking a few steps towards the older reaper.
"...?" Xiu wasn't sure if she was supposed to speak, or if he recognized her to be a natural form and not simply a pet Baku.

She was almost ran over by one of the monsters, so the man leaned down, scooping her up and taking her to a nearby, empty stall. "Sorry," he said as he put her down. "It's tough out there," he added, giving her a slight nod. "I'm bettin you know who I am already, though," he said, glancing at his son who hadn't yet noticed the baku had left. "Can I talk to you for a bit, Miss Baku?"

Xiu was a little bit alarmed when the man picked her up, but she didn't resist, ears pricking up when he spoke. Oh, then...he knew she was a student! After all, he had referred to her as "Miss Baku" and had requested to talk to her. That at least implied that he knew she could speak at all.
"Y-yes, of course!" She gave a quick nod of agreement, "My name is Xiu-Ying. Um...what is it that you wanted to talk to me about?" She stared up at him curiously, her tail giving a nervous little flick. Why would Roch's father be out here, and why would he ask to speak with her?
She turned and glanced quickly towards the younger reaper, just to ensure that he hadn't noticed anything. Even then, he may have not noticed now, but Xiu was certain he would realize that she had gone missing by the end of the concert, if not earlier.

"Him," he said, crossing his arms over his chest and leaning back against the stall next to her. "Trying to get him to talk about him is like prying teeth," he drawled with a mix of amusement and frustration. "Probably my fault. But I haven't introduced myself, although I'm pretty sure you know who I am."
Roch was bellowing the words along with the second song, proving that he knew this band very well. He had yet to notice she was gone, but in a few minutes he was definitely going to. They didn't have much time.
"Are you his ghoulfriend?" Austin asked curiously. "Or do you know her?"

She wasn't surprised that he wanted to talk about Roch, though she was a little hesitant about what he wanted to talk about. Even if this was her friend's father, there was only so much that she could tell him before it became private business.
...And Xiu wasn't really sure if whether or not Roch had a ghoulfriend was private business or not. To her knowledge, he didn't, but...
Sitting down, the Baku immediately shook her head at the question, looking a little flustered. "N-no, I'm not Roch's ghoulfriend! And as for whether I know his ghoulfriend..." There was a bit of hesitation there. Should she mention that she didn't think he had a ghoulfriend right now? Or had Roch told his father that he did? She didn't want to do anything to trouble her friend!
Xiu settled for shaking her head again.

"He said he wasn't dating a gluttony demon, even if he did take her to prom. But..." He frowned. "Do me a favor, would you? He's going to get himself into a lot of trouble, hell, I expect that. I'd be a bit disappointed if he didn't, really. But try and make sure he doesn't kill himself? Especially with food."
Roch was looking around by this point, a frown on his face as he started searching for her. "Screechie?" he called. "Screechie! Where'd you go?" But he was so surrounded by people it was hard to find anyone, really.

Ah, he must have been talking about...Claire? Though she had never met her personally, Xiu still remembered what she had heard happened at prom after she left. She wasn't given much time to linger on this thought as the older reaper suddenly asked her for a favour. The comment about Roch getting into trouble made her smile, but at the actual favour, she simply nodded.
"I...I'll watch out for him." She promised, giving a little flick of her tail. Wasn't she already kind of doing that in a way? At least, she had had good intentions by following him out to make sure that he didn't do anything too careless.
She jerked her head up when she heard the familiar voice calling for her. Standing up, Xiu cast an apologetic look to the man. "I think I have to get going now."

"Enjoy the concert, Xiu," he said before turning into a very familiar shadow and disappearing completely. It was about then that Roch caught sight of her, dodging through the crowd to get to her side.
"Hey!" he said. "You scared the s**t out of me! You coulda told me you didn't like being in the crowd!" he scolded her. "You didn't get hurt or anything, did you?" Xiu would kill him if she did, he thought.

The man was gone before Xiu had even managed to say goodbye, but perhaps it was for the best as Roch rushed up right after. Turning to face him, she flattened her ears at the scolding, drooping slightly in an apologetic stance. At the question, she simply shook her head and reached out to pat his shoe in a reassuring manner.
Considering that she couldn't speak and make up an excuse as to where she went, she simply let him believe that she had been uncomfortable with the crowd. It probably wouldn't have been completely off base either, if there was any reason for Xiu to have left on her own. She did feel a bit out of place.
Tapping at his shoe again, she tilted her head and pointed back to the crowd. Should they go back?

He scooped her up. "Just for a couple more songs," he told her, grinning slightly and rubbing her nose gently. "I probably shouldn't keep you out all night, Xiu might start to miss you."
Or he could take her back to school and come back for the rest of the show, he thought idly. But even as he thought it he had to fight a yawn. All these early mornings for school were taking their toll on him.

Had he really been intending to stay out all night? The Baku had stiffened slightly at those words, as she knew that there would only be so long that she could stay up before she drifted to sleep. Then what? If he brought her back to the demon dorms expecting for her human-form to open the door and let them in...there was an obvious problem with that.
Was Roch tired, though? Xiu wasn't sure if he was the type to pull all-nighters, and she wasn't entirely sure how to get her question across to him either. She settled for tapping his shoulder to get his attention, and then closing her eyes and relaxing to mimic someone sleeping. After a moment passed, she straightened up and looked back at the reaper for his reaction.
...She was getting pretty good at this charades thing she had going on.

"Ah... that one I didn't get," Roch admitted. "Either you were saying you'd sleep on my shoulder, or asking if I was sleepy. And I guess I'd say yes to either, but I'm good for an all nighter. Always have been," he added with a grin.
"Hey, hey, everybody!" the lead singer or Hurl Jam said, making him glance up. "I just noticed an old schoolmate of ours is in the audience! Damn, that makes me feel old. But Austin's one of the best sax player I've ever heard, right guys?" he asked his band, earning calls of agreement. "It ain't us, or anything, but how would you guys like him to come up and play?"
"Oh s**t," Roch muttered.
