When she landed he landed beside her, folding his wings slowly and approaching his den. He vanished inside, stepping over the pillow Cloud gave him and searching for... ah. He found it, lifting it between his teeth and heading back to her, sitting down in-front of her.
"You mentioned wanting your own star." He said, dropping said object. It was a silver bracelet, adorned with star charms that glittered a faint gold. He smiled at the 'Phim, nudging the bracelet closer.
"When I went to the humans den I saw this. Now you can have many stars of your own wherever you go."

As Cloud waited she doodle the mountains and the stars, but as soon as Prelude stepped out she erased it with a sweep of his paw. "Well yeah but isn't it impo-" Then she saw the little bracelet. "Pre-" She couldn't speak. The gift was beautiful. Could she really accept this?
She looked up at Prelude then down at the bracelet again. "A-are you sure you want me to have this?" She didn't feel the moistness in her eyes, or didn't feel the tear run down her cheek. This was special. They had recently just met and this was happening? Then it dawned on her... She was falling in love with Prelude.

Her reaction at first mad him worry, was she going to cry? Carefully, he lifted the bracelet and peered at her. She was crying! Carefully, his paw slipped the bracelet over hers, genuine concern in his eyes.
"Are you okay?" He asked gently, brushing back a piece of her hair. Her tears made his heart clench, though she didn't look sad. "If you don't like it I can take it back." Maybe she was crying because it was not a color she liked? If that was the case he could find other colors....right? He wanted to give her a gift, but if it made her sad then it wasn't worth it!

Cloud looked at the earth and shook her head. She wiped her eye with her other paw. "I love it. I really do.... Thank you." She admired the bracelet. "I've... Never gotten anything like this before." Her tail flicked behind her. The last person Prelude gave affection to left him. Her throat tightened. She didn't want to fall in love with him, she didn't want to mess things up like she did with Raizo. Her heart started to hurt, she didn't show it in her eyes. It wouldn't make it any better if Prelude saw it.
She gave Prelude a big hug. "That fight really took a toll on me. Let's call it a night?" She smiled softly at the male in front of her. She was sure he was a bit tired too.

Ah, she did like it! He smiled at the vixen, nodding happily. "I'm glad I could give it to you, then." He really was, he loved seeing her smile. She was a sweet girl, and he wanted nothing more than her happiness. He wanted her to never cry, to never feel pain or hurt, and he would do anything he could to protect her.
No.
It was happening again.... wasn't it? Again. How many girls had he met before Daciana? Three he believed, all vanished. Then Daciana did. How could he do this again? She needed someone better, someone stronger and manlier.
As she mentioned sleep he nodded, smiling. "Shall I walk you home?"

She nodded. "I would love it if you would." She slide up close next to him. She was quiet, calmer than usual. As they walked she stayed close. He was warm. She felt like she could stay there forever. Again, her heart raced, then clenched. Making her face wrinkle in discomfort.
When they arrived she nuzzled the side of his neck and gave him a soft, quick kiss on his cheek. "Thank you again, Prelude. I had a wonderful day with you." She smiled and slipped into her den and curled up. Mind swimming with thoughts.

He smiled when she kissed his cheek, returning home in the dark night silently. Ah, he enjoyed her presence, but perhaps he was mistaking friendship for something more? His body felt suddenly very, very tired. He had just moved in and was already very confused with himself.
So, he slipped into his den, curled around the pillow Cloud gave him, and went to sleep.

The birds chirped and Prelude refused to budge, eyes opening slightly at the sound of the birds. Nnnnn, where he used to live they were so much quieter! Using the pillow to cover his ears, he merely moved further into his den.

Cloud couldn't sleep. She tossed and turned. After hours of this she couldn't handle it. Maybe talking with Prelude would help. She silently walked over to his cave and peered in. He was already sleeping, she would feel bad if she woke him for her silly non-sense. So instead she left, she was going to her favorite spot. Alone... Even though she wanted Prelude to be with her the next time she went. On her way, she passed her den, which there was a small bush growing. Her bracelet got snagged and gently slipped off. She flew to the near peak of the mountain where she lived and slipped into a hidden cave. She ignored the glowing from the area where the cave broke off into other sections. Then she found her spot in the back of the cave. She pulled a rope, which pulled back a bundle of sticks and leaves that cover the caves ceiling. She curled up and looked up at the stars and thought.
-Morning-
Drip. Drip. Drip. Cloud felt wet on her nose and face. She looked up. It was starting to rain. She wanted to go home though. She made her way out of the cave and flew till she could till the rain started to pour down on her. She landed with a thud, and still had a ways to go before she could get home. Since she couldn't fly, it would be difficult, and a bit dangerous if she wasn't careful.

Rain, perhaps he should check in on Cloud. No, maybe he should just leave her be. He took the chance to leave his den, finally, and spread his wings, allowing the rain to clean them off. The scent of Cloud reached his nose, tail twitching. It was faint, as if she had approached his den last night. Had she? Maybe she needed something.
So, he headed to her den. Maybe she had needed helped or something? When he realized she wasn't in his den he rolled his shoulders, about to leave, then he spotted the bracelet.
He stopped, approaching the bracelet and lifting it, slipping it around the tip of his tail. Had she truly not liked it? Had she thrown it away because she was sick of it? Wait.... why would it be by the front of her den? His eyes flicked back and forth, wondering if she would return soon. Was she alright? It was raining rather hard... "Cloud?" He called, realizing it was to wet to fly, so he set out.
"Cloud?" As he traveled he wondered once more if perhaps she just wanted alone time, and the bracelet had merely slipped off. Was he intruding? Should he go back?

In the rain she heard her name. The voice was familiar. "Prelude?" By this time she was drenched. Her hair flopped into her face, feather a mess. She carefully slide down the slope and onto solid earth. "Prelude?" She sneezed and looked around in the heavy rain. It was hard enough seeing through her thick hair. The rain just made it worse.
In the rain she saw a black figure in the rain. "Prelude!?" She was starting to get scared, and cold. She shivered and kept going. The figure became more clear. It was Prelude! She started to run toward him, only to slip in the mud and fall into it. Cloud just laid there in defeat. She was tired, cold, wet, and lost in thought.

He heard his name being called out in response, head swerving around. Cloud? Then, he heard his name being called in fright, head turning to see a red, distant figure. As the figure came into focus it slipped into the mud. Cloud!
"Cloud Chaser!" He approached her, noting how wet and muddy she was. Ah, she'd get sick! Carefully, he brushed her hair out of her face, and lifted her onto his back, wings moving to cover her from further rain.
"I have you." He comforted her with, not even asking why she was out in the rain. It didn't matter, she needed to be cleaned, warmed, and put to sleep before she grew sick. Carefully, he began to move to her den.

"You're going to get dirty..." She hung onto Prelude. She didn't want to let go. But there was fighting going on inside her. Her heart wanted everything Prelude had, is kindness, is warmth. He was amazing. Yet her brain yelled at her. Saying it would end in pain, that she had a knack for hurting those who loved her. "No..." Cloud mumbled to no one in particular... She was just saying to herself.
'I have you.' His words echoed in her head. Did he really have her? She wanted to say yes. But she didn't even know if he liked her like that. She rested her head between his wings and closed her eyes.

"I rather be dirty then leave you there." He said as he headed for her den. His ear flicked when she mumbled, not quite catching it. As he found her den he squirmed inside, set her gently down, and nodded. "Here, I'll be right back." With that he headed off to his own den.
When he returned he had many leaves and the pillow she gave him, setting the pillow aside. He lifted a leaf, smiling reassuringly at her. "If you spread your wings, I can wipe you off." He said. He was determined to help her.

She spread her wings a bit. "You know you don't have to be doing this..." She looked up at him with her eyes. Her heart was beating in a calm way... but it was so different. Then she looked away. Prelude was just so kind, he went out of his way to do this for her. With a sneeze and a shiver, she wiggled closer to Prelude's warmth. "Has anyone ever told you how warm you are..."

As she wiggled closer he opened a wing to drape over her to help warm her, cleaning off mud as he spoke. "As an insult, yes." He chuckled, remembering Harvest as a kit snapping at him in summer about being to warm when he tried to snuggle. Speaking of, how would his best friend feel if she met Cloud? Hm. He never brought anyone to Harvest, Persephone, or Unia. Not even Daciana. Prelude was surrounded by women he cherished, such as his mother Persephone, best friend Harvest, and the woman that had given him to his mother, Unia.
Wait, why did he want her to meet them? He pushed this thought back, nodding when he noticed Cloud was finally clean, and now slowly bringing her to lay on the pillow, tail flicking around her to help share warmth. "I'm expecting a visit sometime soon, my best friend. Perhaps you should meet her?"
