"Yes I did but I would rather lose some sleep and make you food rather than wake up later and discover that you've disappeared. I don't expect you to understand but if people know that you are connected to Zahur and I they will not be very nice to you. I don't want you to get hurt." His "voice" softened, but still held a sharp edge to it. "Who is this?" Tobi cast his gaze to Avery, and like his brother, wasn't sure if Avery was male or female based purely on appearance. Despite the male clothes Avery had rather feminine features and a feminine haircut.
Avery noticed the change in tone in Evan, and thought it was curious. Whatever a "brudder" was it must not be a good thing. He looked up at Tobias, blinking slowly. "A---very." He responded simply. "W--e w--ere go--ing ou--tside." He stood up and straightened his clothes out. Never mind that Evan had been turning down the idea, he didn't want to hang around this bossy older person much longer.

The gray toddler finally showed a frown, as well as a very angry looking glare as he stared at his brother, not too happy that he had to 'obey' the older one just because he was, indeed, older than him. Putting the food back where it belonged in the drawer, he turned to Avery, "Can't goo ootside, Avery. I dun wan' people bein' meaan 'cause of somethin I DIDn' do." he put emphasis on the word 'didn't', turning to look at his brother with the angry look again before slamming the fridge door shut.

Tobias mentally sighed, rubbing at his forehead with one hand. "If you can just wait a few more days it'll calm down and then it will be safe." He didn't like whoever this Avery kid was. He'd never seen Evan get upset like that before and he couldn't help but associate the ghost toddler with the outburst.
Avery didn't even flinch at Evan's sudden outburst of anger. He simply blinked a few times, looking from Tobias to Evan. "N--o one is ou--tside. A--al emp--ty. I ju--st c--ame from th--ere." He announced. "Be--sides, th--e on--es I s--aw on the wa--y to th--e scree--n room... did--n't sti--ck ar--ound long." A wide, toothy grin spread over his face. He had noticed that Evan and Tobias seemed to be the only ones that stuck around longer than a few minutes. He wasn't sure what it was that made the others suddenly flee his company, but they sure did with a rather frightened look.

There was another shiver down his spine when he saw the other grin the toothy grin, but he spoke "Yoou go ootside, Avery." Evangelos seemed to have quieted down after his sudden outburst. Taking the sandwich he had made, he tossed it in the trash, mainly out of spite at his brother.

The grin made everything about that toddler ten times worse. At once he felt the hair on the back of his neck stand up. "We can go to the commons area if you want, Evangelos. It's not outside but it's not cramped like the room." He frowned at the waste of food, but he wasn't about to make a fuss over it. He was just glad the outburst seemed to have disappeared.
"Wou--ldn't be f--un with--out y-ou." Avery's grin died down and he shook his head. The bigger one just kept insisting they stay inside, how boring. "C--an pl--ay in--side..... ex--expl--ore th--e buil--ding?"

" 'm goin baack to room." Evangelos stated soundly, his emotions quickly being bottled away again, his unusually serious look for a toddler was back on his face, and his tone of voice was back to being it's monotone-like quality. As much as he wanted to have fun, it seemed like it would be best for Tobi if they all just stayed in the room, so in the room he would stay.

Tobi had to qualms with that, the room was by far the best place for them to be for awhile, at least. He would loosen his reign over Evan eventually, but he really just didn't want the kid to get hurt because of something he and Zahur had done. He opened the door and held it there for the toddlers to file out, not really expecting Avery to stick around. Actually he kind of hoped that he didn't with how off the kid felt.
"Sti--ll can ex--plore." Avery nodded and floated along after them. He wanted to stick around Evan, not really grasping that it would be rude to invite himself into someone else's home.

"Avery, noo... you can esplore wit' oot me." The boy sad quietly, reaching the door to the dorms that he shared with the two teens and opening it as soundlessly as possible. Once the door was opened, Evan shuffled in and to the small pile of the blanket and pillow he was using as a bed.

Tobi started to close the door behind them but Avery rushed in at the last second, skittering to a stop next to Evan's makeshift bed. "Um, Avery, I don't think now is a good time to be in here." Tobi wasn't even sure if anyone other than himself and Evan were allowed in the room.
The shadow ignored Tobi's protest and instead plopped himself down next to Evan. "Wh--at are th--ese?" He picked up an edge of a blanket and pulled it over himself, grinning again. This was much more fun that being by himself, that was for sure. "C--an pl--ay in th--ese?" He looked to Evan expectantly. It was obvious then that he was choosing to ignore Tobi rather than just being caught up in what he was doing.

The toddler nodded mutely, pausing for a moment, "Uh-huh.. buh 'mma nap.." he said quietly, having noticed the lump on the second bed was still there - meaning the one who had made it impossible for him to be much of a kid was still asleep. Grabbing the pillow, he placed it down before curling up on top of it, not really wanting to deal with his brother.

"You should probably go find your mom or dad or something since Evan's going to take a nap. You can play later." Tobi moved closer to the two, but stopped when the grin turned into a glare and bared teeth.
"N--ap t--ime is g--ood t--ime." Avery announced, despite the look on his face. He opted to cuddle up next to Evan, awkwardly pulling the blanket along with him to mimic the other old Meta in the room. "N--ight n--ight."
Tobias was feeling rather conflicted. That toddler had invited itself into the dorm and was basically keeping him from his brother, but at the same time, Evan could really use a friend... He stood in place, staring down at Avery with a frown. "You should be careful about your new friend, it seems a little... off." This time his voice was directed only at Evan.

Evangelos could only sleepily look up to the nearly-white older male, no semblance of a smile or any other facial expression denoting mood could be seen on his face. Yet, it seemed to change when Avery cuddled close to him, something he hadn't really felt before seeing as he had refused to sleep next to Tobi.

Tobias eventually resigned himself to lurking on the school's messaging system, scoping out how pissed people were. He figured that was a good indication of how safe it was to wander around unnecessarily.
Avery had not intended to fall asleep, but he ended up doing just that. Evan was so... warm. Much warmer than he was, though he couldn't really be called freezing or anything... just cold.

The boy never really fell asleep, he had just laid there, eyes half closed as he remained silent. It was something he had grown accustomed to doing, having only played with the toys once before putting them away indefinitely because he felt like he was disturbing the nerve wracking silence that was in the room for the majority of the day.

Tobias eventually went back to sleep, having deduced that it was still not safe to go out for the time being.
Sometime later Avery woke again, blinking his eyes sleepily. He sat up, and looked around the room. The white one had gone back to sleep, the other one seemed to still be sleeping... he looked down at Evan and decided that he was probably sleeping too. He wiggled his way out of the makeshift bed and stood up. There wasn't much in the room, especially on the side with the stranger.
He examined Tobi's stuff, that was far more interesting. He silently shuffled over to it and began to look at everything close up, moving things around but placing them back in their general spot. The figurines were the most interesting.
