"I'm gonna get a bed," Roch said. "And knowin' the Tank it won't be something those jackin' scrags can catch on fire, even that creepy green fire that they use," he told her, digging through the fridge. He came out holding an armful of supplies which he carried to the counter and started putting together. "Looks like Pop was here," he said quietly, a frown on his face. "Jerk didn't even wake me up."
The room went a little blue, then he shrugged. "Besides, I was in bed for two days already." He finished making his sandwich and took a massive bite out of it.

Yup, stubborn. Then again, Xiu did have a tendency to nag, not unlike a mother. Even if it came off as irritating at times, she couldn't help it. "Two days isn't very long," She told him with a frown, barely taking note of the color change, "Though...I suppose you do need a bed." That she couldn't disagree with.
Still, she couldn't help but look a little concerned. "How do you intend on getting yourself a bed anyways?" At least now she knew what he had meant earlier when he had answered her with "scrags". The idea of the little creatures setting fire to a bed...well, she had never heard of such a thing herself.
Not that that was too surprising.

"Dunno," he said. "I'll follow the gang and they'll get the stuff, and hopefully nobody'll be caught by the boogeys," he summed up. "You sure like to nag, don't you?" he asked, looking a little irritated with her as he finished off his meal. "Hey... I... I know you don't I?" he asked, a frown on his face.
The world seemed to throb around them for a moment, blurring in and out of focus. "Xiu... Xiu..." he repeated.

Xiu puffed up her cheeks again at his comment, but she immediately looked alarmed at the change that began to come over their setting. Trying to steady herself on a wall, the Baku looked around with alarm before her gaze darted back to Roch. Suddenly what was happening became clearer to her.
Was he capable of lucid dreaming, she wondered? Wide-eyed, Xiu waited to see what would happen. Whether he recognized her or not...well, her reply to his question was vague.
"Maybe." Whether he decided to drop the matter or ponder it further, she was leaving up to him.

"I'm trying to remember," the younger version of Roch said. "I do... but I don't. I don't... but I do..." The sound of the sax from before started playing in the background. He scowled, pressing his hand to his forehead. "Xiu..."
He stumbled back, leaning against the counter and looking at her. "I'm dreaming." He changed in front of her eyes, standing tall as he was as she knew him. "And you're not supposed to be here," he said, pointing at her.
"Roch, are we goin?" Fang called from another room.
"Not tonight, Fang. I gotta wake up."
The dream went black again.

Whoops. Xiu looked a little sheepish now, but worried too. Would he be upset by the fact that she had dived into his dreams without permission? She watched as the scene went black, and felt herself slowly begin to fade. With Roch waking up, she would automatically leave the dream.
It's impressive though, She noted, feeling her consciousness briefly flicker as she began to disappear, Not many people can have lucid dreams. Roch was the first to really recognize me, at least. That was last thought she had before her consciousness faded...
...and immediately reappeared a moment later in her body. With a little groan, the Baku uncurled herself from her spot on the floor. She pushed herself up into a half-sitting position and, looking a little nervous now, turned to glance towards the beanbag chair that Roch had been occupying.

Silver eyes opened, looking at her straightly, a slight frown on his face. "I've had a lot of dreams were I could control what happens somewhat," he said, conversationally. "But I wouldn't have realized what was going on if you hadn't given me your name, I think," he finished.
There was a strangely serious look on his face, something that didn't really happen often. If she had known his father, she would recognize it much better. "I have a... question to ask," he said. "Did you see that scene where the world was swirling?"

Pushing herself up and onto her knees, the Baku rubbed the back of her head with a little grin. "I probably shouldn't have give you my name," She admitted, "But it's kind of rare to run into a lucid dreamer, so that was kind of unexpected."
She was a little caught off guard by his question, but she nodded without any hesitation. "I didn't just see it, I felt it too." At the memory, Xiu frowned at rubbed at her stomach, remembering just how queasy she felt when at the way the scenes had blurred past. Trying to ignore the feeling through, she attempted to recall the memory of the scene in question, frowning slightly.
"What was that about anyways?"

"It was--" He stopped, shaking his head. "If you felt it, you can describe it, right? I wasn't in control then. It was what I was looking for, but I was so--well, I don't really remember exactly what happened. And then it stopped." He sighed. He should be telling her not to tell other people about this, but he had abruptly been given a hand, and he was going to take it.

Frowning now, Xiu tried her best to recall the scene, but she shook her head. "I was...really confused, actually. Things were changing colors, and I'm not used to this dream diving stuff yet, so..." Trailing off, she closed her eyes and rubbed at her temples. "I know that...w-well. I was worried. You were on the bed, and...and you didn't seem very well off. And then..."
Then there was that shadow.
"I'm sorry," She apologized suddenly, shrinking a little, "I shouldn't have just...jumped in without permission."

"Then what, Xiu," Roch demanded. "What happened? Was there someone there? Was there music?" He was almost positive there had been music, but he needed someone else to confirm it. "No apologies right now, just tell me exactly what happened. Please."
He was feeling really vulnerable right now. She had seen his childhood as he searched for that memory, and he wasn't sure how she was going to deal with it. The vampire--
No. Right now he had to focus.

She was surprised by his desperation. Was that scene really important to him? Reaching up, she rest a hand on his shoulder, her voice soft. "C-calm down, let me think for a moment..." Closing her eyes again, she tried to recall the scene. Everything had gone by so quickly...
"Yes..." She said after a moment, "There was music. A...a saxophone? The room was all red, and you were...thrashing around on the bed." The memory made her feel a little anxious for some reason, and she opened her eyes to look up at the reaper.
"But then..." Xiu relayed the rest of the memory slowly as it came back to her. The room changing to blue and Roch calming down. How she saw a shadowy figure--the one who had playing the saxophone?--reach out and rest a hand on the boil's forehead, and then...and then that was it. "It ended there."

He looked pale. This same kid that had woken up after two days unconscious and been more worried about eating than what had happened to him. It was almost hard to believe. "So he was telling the truth," he said to himself. He cursed. "And he was there when I got knocked out, too. That--"
He shook his head. "No. Not now," he muttered, focusing on her. "What you saw... not just that little scene, all of it... could you not mention it to anyone? I won't deny if it you tell people, so it ain't gonna work as blackmail. But... well... it's kinda personal."

Knitting her brows together, the ghoul seemed concerned as Roch muttered to herself, jumping slightly at the curse. What was going on?
Blinking as he turned his attention back to her, Xiu shook her head and stuck out her pinky. It was a bit childish, but she wanted to assure him that she wouldn't spread what she saw. "I promise. I assure you that I wasn't going to share anything whether you asked me to or not." Her voice was soft, but there was some firmness behind her words. She could see that what she saw bothered him.
Attempting to lighten the mood slightly, she pouted and crossed her arms, "And I don't blackmail, Roch." Well, that was true. She would never think of betraying a friend, thank you very much!

He hooked pinkies with her, since she seemed to want to. "Yeah," he said. "You don't seem the type. But..." He pulled his hand away, still looking quite vulnerable. "You saw me get my a** handed to me, huh?" he said, looking ashamed. "If it makes you feel any better that vampire taught me a lot of stuff before I came to school! I still couldn't beat him, or anything, but I came close a time or two!"
Clearly the boil was backwards and messed up all the way to the bone.
