"L-leave? Leave how?" And to where? She wasn't sure which way to go, or what kind of things she would run into if she were to venture off on her own. Unfortunately, it didn't seem like she was going to get any answers as Xiu felt the ground shake beneath them. One moment they were firmly planted on the ground, and the next, Xiu had been thrown to the side.
Groaning, she hurriedly got back up, trying to steady herself on one of the headstones. She turned to check up on her rescuer, managing only to catch a glimpse of his new shield when she heard his order. For a moment, she hesitated. If she ran...what about him? And of course, what was she running from?
...Oh, this was not the time for questions! Deciding that trusting him was the best idea, Xiu paused only so that she could utter a quick, "T-thank you, a-and be careful!" before she took his advice and ran.

Whatever it was that had erupted from the crypts below them was moving. Large and horrible, stitched together with far too many heads, far too many sharp mouths and clawing hands as it lumbered forward with a deep bellowing howl.
"Master knows best," The shielded patchwork managed, as though reciting a prayer, and his voice drifted through the dream after her, "Obey Master and always aid in his Greater Works. Put their will before yourself, for only through their works will they help Halloween Kind... one of the many laws of Igors."
If she were to glance back, she would see that embodiment of rebellious will quickly snatched up in the jaws of the Experiment, a strangled cry escaping him as he was quickly reduced to his basic Parts, accompanied by all of the appropriate crunching and ripping one would imagine that would entail while still keeping this post PG13. It was horrific.

Xiu ran in desperation, dodging whatever obstacles were in her way as she continued forward. There was no particular direction that she was going in--she just needed to get away. Around her, she could hear the words of her rescuer and--despite her panic--she did manage to think one thing about him. That he was clearly quite the noble kind, and that she owed him a lot. Unable to help herself, she cast a quick glance over her shoulder...
...And was met by a most horrific scene. Slowing to a stop, the Baku's legs suddenly began to quiver beneath her. Her eyes were wide with shock and she tried to pull her gaze away but...but she couldn't. It was disgusting, and horrifying, and it was also really heartbreaking to see the person that had saved her being torn apart. If he hadn't saved her, would he be somewhere else right now?
Realizing then that, the longer she stood around, the more likely the creature would spot and turn to her next, the Baku bit down on her lip and tore her gaze away, running as fast as she could manage. However, with the gruesome image burnt in her mind now, the ghoul found herself stumbling every few steps. She felt like she was going to be sick.

Finished it's grizzly meal, the Experiment lifted what heads were not feeding, eyes scanning before spotting the pale retreating figure dodging through the headstones. He left what was left to the circling birds, that plucked up each part to carry off back towards the castle in the distance.
Catch her catch her catch her - he lunged, leaping from stone monument to stone monument like stepping stones, closing in on the target, toothy mouths agape, ready to bring her back in pieces if he so wished- she was there, under it, ready to close in, to Complete it's Simple Task, to be a good boy, to make Master happy and he could hear screaming but-
Christof sat upright in his shallow grave, panting heavily through his nose as he wiped the sweat from his brows. Just a dream. Just a dream. Just nonsense in his head. It was already fading, like dispersing fog. He remembered running and... he had finished his Project... and a pretty girl...

Unlike the previous times where she woke up from dream diving, Xiu lunged upward in a panic this time, her body tensed as she immediately began to examine her surroundings. Where was the creature? They had switched into a new scene, a different plac--
--No. Her gaze darted around, taking in the peaceful graveyard, and then to the tombstone that she had been leaning against. She remembered now! She had seen the boil sleeping in the grave, and out of curiosity, Xiu had entered his dream to see what it was like. What had happened--almost losing her limbs, getting saved, and her rescuer being torn apart--all of that had been a dream. To think that she had been so terrified, and it hadn't even been her dream!
But now she was in the waking world, and everything was back to normal. But...how? The only two things that would bring her back to her body were physical pain--if someone were to pinch her body or shake her hard enough, she would probably jolt back awake--or if the dreamer...
Uh oh.
She turned just in time to see the patchwork sit up. Letting out a yelp, the Baku immediately began to back away when she stumbled over her own feet and fell backwards. Still, she never tore her gaze away from the boil.

At the sound of movement and a glimpse of a tufted tail whisking just out of view, the hunchback turned as well, eyes wide in embarrassment- He immediately shifted to rise to his feet in the ditch before he frowned, feeling something under his leg. He had fallen asleep with his coat on, his other right arm getting cramped wrapped around the original limb, and it was eager to respond to the mental command to reach out and pick it up if only to shake the pins and needles from it's clawed digits. A phone? A ghoul's phone, by to look of it.
His brows furrowed as his face flushed purple and green. He managed to pull himself to his boots, passing the phone into his proper right hand before pulling the other out of sight once more. Facing her now, he gave an apologetic grunt, although he wasn't sure what he was apologizing for- it just usually paid for an Igor to be humble- before offering it out to her.
She looked familiar... Had to be a new student, he hadn't seen her around much, but... had she been at Mistress's booth? That must have been it. He had met a lot of people at the festival, although it was mostly a blur now. That was probably it. He realized he was staring, and immediately lowered his mismatched eyes to his boots, phone still offered out meekly.

She knew it was impolite, but the Baku couldn't help but eye the boil warily as she slowly pushed herself back onto her feet. She tensed when he stretched a hand out to her, only to realize that he was simply offering back the phone that she had dropped. The phone that was partly the cause of this whole thing.
...She wasn't sure she wanted it anymore.
Still, Xiu slowly reached out to take the offered object, knowing that she would regret it if she left it behind. "T-thank you." She managed in a shaky voice, bobbing her head in a slight bow. Despite his physical similarities to the boil in his dream, the Igor that stood before her seemed a lot more...polite? Shy? Both those things, perhaps. It hadn't quite hit her yet that she had been able to interact with more then one character in that dream. The patchwork that had strapped her down and the one that had rescued her had seemed like completely different people to her. It hadn't occurred to her that they could possibly both be part of the dreamer.
The ghoul looked as if she was ready to bolt when she suddenly spoke. "...M-may I have your name?"

He glanced up again with a nod, hands suddenly fumbling through his pockets- including the third arm that just seemed to be following suit, checking his vest pockets before vanishing once more under the jacket fruitlessly. Out of introductory cards! He had given out a few at the festival, but he had only made so many... Hell's Bells... Ah! He located his small notebook, corners of his stitched mouth twitching upwards in an embarrassed smile before producing a pen from it's spiral binding and scribbling out:
Christof - An Igor. Pleasure to meet you, Miss. Cannot speak, sorry.
And offered it out to her, his face still blushing and his eyes locked on his heavily stitched boots.

Xiu stared blankly at the third arm that made a brief appearance, only to slide back under his jacket again. Was that...? No. Nope. She wasn't going to ask. As she waited for him to find what he was searching for, she nervously fiddled with one of her long ends of her obi. He didn't have a saw hidden in there, did he?
...Okay, she was still a little paranoid.
When he brought out a notepad and scribbled something down, however, the Baku found herself lowering some of the defenses that she had tossed up. He definitely seemed polite enough--sweet, even, judging from the expression on his face. The corners of her lips tugged upwards in a small smile as she gave another bow of her head, a more formal one this time.
"I-it's nice to meet you, Christof. I...I'm Xiu-Ying. Just Xiu will do." She paused immediately after introducing herself, suddenly tense again. She had given the Igor in the dream her name as well--would he remember, she wondered?

His brows knit as he took in the name, watching her face now again as it seemed the wheels were turning behind those mismatched eyes. They lowered down to his notebook again, under the first note he added:
Nice to meet you too, Miss Shoe. Am running for student council- Secretary. Will you vote?
That was punctuated by a hopeful smile as he offered the note out to her to read.

...Well, Shoe was close enough. Xiu knew that her name tended to be a little hard for others to pronounce, never mind sound out. The smile grew slightly as she read the rest of his words. "I-I know. I saw your booth when I passed by Riley's." She hadn't had much time to visit the other booths though, unfortunately. It would have been a good experience meeting Christof beforehand, maybe--then perhaps she wouldn't be so nervous around him.
"I'll definitely vote." She promised, obviously won over by his smile. How could someone who seemed so gentle have such terrifying dreams? Glancing around at their surrounds, Xiu gestured towards the grave.
"If...if I may ask, what were you doing here?"

He scratched the back of his head nervously before crouching down to pick up the shovel that lay at his feet, miming a quick few digging movements before gingerly setting it aside the hole as he began to climb out. He was a lot taller when not standing knee-deep in the earth, but even still his hunch robbed him of most of that height.
Juggling his notebook again, he wrote out:
What are you doing here?

So he was...digging. Whether he had a goal in mind for this digging, she didn't know, but Xiu nodded anyways to show that she understood. When the same question was turned back to her, the ghoul smiled a bit sheepishly. "I...I got a bit lost," She explained, gesturing to the grave-sized hole, "I ended up dropping my phone in there, and I didn't want to wake you, so..." In hindsight, that experience could have been avoided. Now Xiu was worried that she would start having nightmares, and it wasn't as if she could eat her own dreams.
Glancing around, she pointed in a random direction. "Could you direct me back to the school?" How much time had passed, she wondered? Sometimes a dream that felt like days was only five minutes in the waking world. The opposite was true was well.
In this case, hopefully it was the former, and not the latter.

Christof still watched her for a few moments, pondering silently to himself before shouldering his shovel and nodding. He hadn't brought anything else with him, it had not been a raiding expedition, so there was nothing else to gather. He gave her a nod, stepping forward towards the path that lead between rows of headstones, motioning ahead of him that the school was that way. He paused to wait for her, finally scribbling something into his notebook to show her once she caught up:
You were in my dream. V. Odd.
It had to be her. He didn't know anyone else with a tail like that. Considering he had only vaguely seen her at the booths, it struck him as strange... but maybe his psyche had been trying to tell him something? Bits and pieces of the dream still flitted in and out of recollection. There had been a monster... and it hadn't been Frederik. His expression fell.

Smiling, Xiu had been about to thank him when her gaze swept over the words he had printed in the notebook. At once, there was a subtle change in her, her body suddenly tensing slightly. Should she admit to what she had done? Or maybe it was better to play dumb?
"How...how strange," She managed finally, her reddish-pink eyes a little wider than usual, "You...You must have seen me in the passing. At the festival, perhaps? I do have a rather strange style of clothing, I suppose." With a small smile, she lifted and fiddled with the ends of her obi ribbon again.
She felt bad for lying, but...would he be upset if she were to tell him the truth? Remembering back to the creepy Igor and the large monster she had seen in his dream, the Baku had to try her hardest to suppress a little shudder. "A-anyways...s-shall we go?"
