The purple-haired faun blushed even more under the compliment the other woman, then pulled her hand gently from their grasp. Running a hand through her curls, she looked curiously at Artemis for a moment. "Goddess of the Hunt? Amazing." After having met the other deities of the island, Amadorine wasn't skeptical at all. She was, however, curious to know that there was such a powerful female figure, considering that the males were supposed to be the ones that ran their society. And do most of the hunting.

"It's really nice to meet you! What kinda things do you hunt?"

Isolde had to do a double take at the man with the feet like hers. Until this moment she hadn't seen another faun, and honestly she was feeling a sense of both shock and relief at the same time. She stopped, having to stare at him for a few moments in dumbfounded awe before she shook her head. All she knew was that she was a faun, and how she knew was a mystery even to herself. She was so in awe she didn't even mind that the little ones had feet and toes, because there was someone else there with hooves like hers.

"Are...are you a faun?" she asked, knowing it was a stupid question but wanting to make sure she wasn't dreaming or mistaken.

Takis glances over at Vanya, trying to judge her mood. She's difficult to read, as always. "How are you feeling?" he asks, trying to lead her forward again. Gentle, gentle. He doesn't want her to bolt. "It definitely seems important," he continues, looking around at all the fauns gathered.

"I wonder if the calling we felt didn't go out to all the fauns like us on the Isle," he ponders aloud. If that's so... "I wonder if my parents are here," he say suddenly, a little excitement entering his voice. His survey of the crowd becomes more pointed. His parents and brother were all fauns as well--perhaps they'd heard the call and come as well.

Not seeing them immediately, Takis turns his attention back to Vanya, trying to read her again. She seemed simultaneously apprehensive and excited. Perhaps something good would come of all of this.

Theron can't help but chuckle a little. "Of course I'm a faun," he says, stamping his hooves softly and gesturing to his palm frond-like antlers. He peers at her for a moment. "My goodness, my dear, have you never met another of your own kind?" Well, technically, neither had he, really, but he'd seen them...and he knew there were more.

He puts Tamara down in the cradle-like sling on the ground and picks up Lily. He kisses her nose and murmurs delightedly to her.

"Come, sit and rest your hooves a while," he says to Isolde. "We can finish our journey together once my little ones are ready to go again." He smiles encouragingly. His demeanor is warm and non-threatening.

Pan hadn't noticed before but Kishi had grown since last they had met. Then again so had he. Had it really been that long? Had he been in the woods by himself, with the tress and rocks, for that long? Well, maybe this call had come at the right time. This way Pan could get to see his friend and others again.

Pan put down his flute, which caused the rocks to stop, and placed it to his side. "I've been good. Always good. How about yourself? Being you I'm sure you have been great. Yes, I did. I wasn't far from home this time." He smiled a wide smiled and gave a nod to the pink girl.

What was going on? That had finally crossed his mind. He didn't think it was often that Rais' called to them, but being young he figured he must not know very much. Maybe they did this often?

Kieran, with Calais in tow, had finally made his way to the Great Tree. His curiosity about what was going on completely overshadowed his awe at this huge, wonderful thing. "C'mon, let's have a look inside," he says to her. He tugs at her hand, leading them inside.

Kieran's honestly surprised at how many fauns had gathered. "Must be important," he comments. "This guy looks like he's in charge," he says, pointing to Rais. "Wonder if he's gonna make an announcement or something," he says.

He moves as far forward as he can, to ensure they could hear the leader properly.

User ImageEvery faun felt the call.

It even reached the young faun who stayed with one Texas Pete, a quiet type who preferred his space and peaceful music over the hustle and bustle of a tree full of plenty of faun milling all about performing their basic duties. Said young faun attempted to ignore the call, but as it persisted, his resistance drained. It wasn't worth it. If following whatever was drawing him in some odd random direction would end it, so be it. He just wanted his own personal peace again, without a nagging headache or a pang in his heart.

So he said his goodbyes to Texas, saluted to Magnus Vis and the snarling Mikasi he was holding--really, he did not understand that baby--and headed off, setting outside with just himself and his unheard music to keep him company. It was a rather long walk, moving from the sands to fresh grass to forested land, but he kept moving, determination in his eyes, hoping to arrive at the location more sooner than later.

Distance significantly slowed him, but perhaps more than that was the realization of what he was heading towards.

The Great Tree.

No. No. No. No no nonononono

Vangelis would have turned and run away if the call would let him, but the call kept dragging him forward, despite his beating heart and the sweat forming on his brow. Vangelis didn't like the tree. He hated the tree. He didn't care if his acorn had once... come from the tree as Texas Pete told him it had. He didn't care if the tree was his very lifeblood. The tree was busy. The tree was crowded. The tree was full of faun. And he had nothing against faun as a whole. Faun themselves were fine. Faun had never been the problem!

It was the multitude of faun that bothered him, and that was what made his breath catch in his throat when he walked into the entrance. Moreso than ever, the crowd was full of a great many faun. There were faun entering and writhing almost as far as his eyes could register, and it terrified him.

It took all of Vangelis' strength not to run out of the door.

And all of his terror to keep him rooted there.

Fi blinked, looking up as she heard Rais' call. Every faun had to have heard it. Good thing she didn't have anything planned with Hula Bob for the day, she was getting up and leaving the bar the very second the message ended.

Her green hair blowing gently behind her as she ran, the female hoped she wouldn't arrive too late. It was after all, an important meeting else he wouldn't have summoned -all- the fauns. Her eyes were wide with excitement, as she returned to the tree she had called home for so very long.

Christian stepped foot into the tree, for what felt like, the first time. It was lively with all the fauns in there, he was almost overwhelmed. But he'd taken in a lot of sunlight on the trip over here. The male was almost bouncing off the walls, he was not only excited about the summons, to see what it was all about, but he was hyper from the energy his leaves had absorbed. The fact that the entrance was so packed didn't seem to bother him at all.

He was used to dealing with situations he didn't care for too much, thanks to that crazy woman who raised him, yet this seemed different on a whole. With the faun he had never met, Christian was looking from side to side, hoping to find someone he knew or even someone who knew why they were called. All he could think of was how exciting it was to be there, where his people had thrived for what he thought must have been forever.

Rais looked out to the see the crowd forming. He walked to where everyone could see him and hear what he had to say. Rais cleared his throat for attention and then held his hands out in a welcoming gesture, "Hello fellow fauns, welcome home!"

Rais let the word home sink in and heard the echo drift over the crowd. This tree, this place was home, even if a few hadn't known it before. He scanned the crowd and saw different faces he hadn't seen before and a few that he had.

"I sent the call for it is time." He looked around and nodded his head, "Time for what you may ask?" He knew they had to have questions and it was time to give a bit of an answer. "It is time for my council to return. Some of you have been reborn and were in Arda's council." He looked around and then kept on, "I am the reborn Faun hero Arda and I am looking for my brothers."

Rais let that sink in for a few moments he glanced around see what expressions the fauns had and what emotions they conveyed. "Soon we will have a ceremony to find those of you who will join me on my council." He nodded to the fierce-looking faun standing close to him.

"Only the most worthy prey, of course," Artemis answered mysteriously, flashing the girl a grin that was a combination of wild, mischievous, and possibly frightening to the feint of heart.

Still, like any good huntress, she'd fixated on her focus and wouldn't be swayed. "Hmm...that male up there," she commented, eyes on Rais, and nodding her head to make sure her intention was clear. "Who is he? What's his story? Maybe we could figure out what's going on here..."

Or he could just start talking and tell them all, apparently. Now, what was all this about Councils and being reborn and looking for brothers? She raised an eyebrow at the suggestion of others joining the male on his Council. Lovely. No thanks, she was good being a deity.

"Looks like it," she murmured, eyes wide and taking in all the Faun here...surely someone would recognize her... And yet, the energy in the crowd was almost palpable, like a living thing, sinewy and graceful, continuously winding its way amongst them all.

"But, yes, I'm fin--" she started to say, then blinked and stopped at the mention of his parents. That's right...she'd still not met them. For all she knew...they might know her already! Oh, what a horrible, terrifying thought...if they already knew her from the Tree, then what would they think of her hanging around their son? Like some...well...what were they exactly anyway? She wasn't sure. And with her reaction to what Takis had said earlier, she was more unsure than ever.

Then the booming voice sounded over the crowd. Every face seemed to turn in unison towards the Faun Chief, rapt attention on all their faces. It seems that the Chief had a lot of important things to say...some of which were starting to flow over Vanya's head. Arda? Reborn Faun? Council members? ...what?

She frowned deeply, still listening, but also getting caught up in her own thoughts. Arda...that sounded familiar...but why? She thought back, back, and back further still...bedtime stories and fables half-remembered flowed through her mind until some in particular arose in crystal clarity. Arda! The ancient Faun Chieftain and hero! Of course!

...wait, so they weren't just stories? Not just tales of fantasy for little Fauns to get lost in for hours of imagination? And Rais...was Arda? It was a heady realization for anyone who had any knowledge at all of the ancient times, if only through old stories.

"A...Council..." she mused softly under her breath, expression blank.

Faroth practically skidded into the gathering, the mottled wolf hot on his heels...until the last second when she leapt ahead of him with a flourish of her fluffy tail. He could have sworn the wolf was smirking.

"Hey! You cheated, you...cheater!" he grumbled irritably, slowing to a clip-clopping halt and ignoring Raina as she 'obliviously' nuzzled her head under his hand for an ear skritching. The pair were drawing a lot of uneasy looks from the surrounding Fauns...though they were mostly aimed at the wolf. Mostly.

Faroth cast a glance over the crowd, one more appreciative of his new height...he could actually see over the other Fauns' heads! Now, was there anyone here he knew? Oh, up there! Well, of course he knew the Chief...though he did have second thoughts before raising his hand to wave like an idiot at Rais. He obviously had more important things on his mind.

But hey, there was another familiar face! If a bit older than the last time he'd seen him. And looking quite a bit more terrified...

"Van!" He shouted, waving over the crowd before pushing his way over to the young teen. Subtle he was not. Faroth grinned at seeing an old friend, one he'd known since birth. Well, Vangelis' birth anyway. He tousled the teen's hair lightly, still smiling and seeking to break the kid out of whatever trance he seemed to be in. Then he withdrew, not pushing to overstay his welcome in Vangelis' personal space.

Raina had padded along beside her bonded, and now hung back a bit, cocking her head to the side in curiosity at this display. She sniffed the air, apparently deciding that Vangelis was 'okay,' as she then promptly walked in a circle and plopped down as if to take a nap.

Faroth was looking around again, excitement shining in his eyes. "So, Van...whatcha' think this is all about anyway? Something big, that's for sure! Hey, ya' think that...maybe..." he leaned in as if to ask something of a fellow conspirator...even though he knew better than to actually expect an answer...but was cut off as Chief Rais began to speak. He promptly shut up and straightened up to listen...

Takis listens to the Faun leader's words, but remains confused throughout. This was home? He looks around. This had never been home. Home had been at his, well, his home. With Papa and Mama and Terran. And then he'd begun talking about a "council," and having been "reborn," and that he was really some person named "Arda". It was all nonsense to Takis.

He looks over to Vanya, who looked just as confused as he himself felt. "It's alright," he says, patting her hand. "I've got no idea what he's talking about either." He certainly wasn't one of this "reborn council".

She felt saddened that her conversation with the beautiful goddess was over when Rais stepped forward and began speaking. His voice was strong and she not only heard his words, but felt them strike true to her heart. Her head tilted to the side a little as she listened to his words, and though the mention of a council caught her attention, she felt herself frown and begin to lose interest as he talked about 'brothers'. She'd rather not have a group of men together 'ruling' over her. Why couldn't a 'sister' be on the council?

Frown deepening, she crossed her arms, but continued to watch and listen, despite her feeling of disinterest.

Fi blinked, Rais was looking for brothers in a counsel? Why not girls he wondered. She shrugged, sure there was more to this calling than just the selection of the counsel memebers. It was interesting for certain that he would call everyone. Maybe he would just know who they were?

Christian smirked, shifting his weight from one leg to another, listening to Rais as he spoke. It was certainly an interesting thing to hear. He might have to look into this, or at least wonder how one could possibly be reborn.. It must have been possible if one believed Rais was Arda. That meant a wonder of possibilities if one could figure this out. But that wasn't what he cared about. This was an interesting turn of events. he was glad he answered the call.
