"I have no idea." He said, helplessly. "I... don't remember that time. At all. But the evidence I've seen... is rather damning."
"I am trying, at least. To... make up for it. For what I've done. But it's... not easy." The most important things were never easy.
He nodded at Alexandre's deduction. "That's right. Alunite is a mineral, not a star. There are... two types of corrupted senshi. Corrupted, Negaverse, Enlightened... Depends who you ask and what title they are comfortable bearing. There are some who were awakened as normal senshi, but then were either taken by the negaverse, or realized for themselves the errors of their ways and decided to come to our side. Those... Well. They forget everything that they are, all of their memories, everything. I believe it might be a fail-save the senshi have in order to make sure the others' identities cannot be revealed... After their recruitment, they need to rebuild themselves from the ground up. But... do not pity them. Most of them will probably dislike it." There was a bit of pain in his voice at that, compassion for those who had made the ultimate sacrifice.
"Then there are those, like me. My starseed was ready to be awakened as a senshi, but... My sister found me first, with another high rank. I forgot nothing... probably because I had nothing to forget. I was taken much like you were, through my starseed, but... Much more violently." Something crossed his eyes, then. Pain, but it was too personal for him to be comfortable speaking about it.
To be reborn, one must firstly die. It was perhaps true for all of them... But even more true for the senshi brought over to the negaverse's cause.

No, and they did say it was typically the harder road which yielded the best results in the end, or at least his mother said this. It was why she put in so much effort with every case she got. "I think you can say your doing a good job and should not feel guilt for the past. Your making up for it, you realize it was wrong then. That counts for a lot, considering the vast amount of senshi who are unlike you." From what he'd seen on tv there were a lot of senshi. And all of them continued their past mistakes.
Watching the play of emotions, and hearing it in the others voice, he gave him a soft smile. "I wouldn't pity them, to give up so much. That's strength...I could never give up my memories and such. I know I couldn't hold myself together if that were to happen." He didn't know he could be made pure and turned into a page. That would never work for him, he'd just...without his family and friends and memories. The destruction it would bring to him and his life.
"I guess it's goo your sister found you..." Even though he'd suffered to be brought over. He hadn't thought himself lucky, in his own turning, till he heard the others words. Perhaps it hadn't been that bad for him, and he hadn't even known it.
Reaching out he touched the others shoulder gently. "Your here now, and that's what matters..." He wanted some how to comfort the other, and apologize for somehow upsetting him. Alexandre sincerely liked Alunite, Matthew, and didn't wish to upset the other, he was being nice enough to answer his questions and ask him into his apartment. But he didn't know just what to avoid for questions.
A heavy sigh from the blond. "I-I'm sorry for upsetting you. I don't mean to, though it's obvious I have." His words were hesitant, trying to find what he wanted to say and holding back from wanting to find some manner to comfort the other. He didn't like to upset people unless he meant to, and he didn't mean to.

"It's... always hard to talk about it." It wasn't Alexandre's fault, but he was certain he could not relate what he had felt that night in a way the blonde would understand.
And he sincerely hoped that he would never have to feel something similar, but... his sister's promotion to captain...
Even the agents ended up having a close relationship with pain.
All this talk of... feelings was starting to make him uncomfortable. These were not things he liked to talk about, outside of his sister, or... perhaps those who understood the pain.
"For your second question..." He said. "...She will probably show it to you, one day, but it is perhaps better if I... prepare you for it."
He wasn't being ominous on purpose.
"There is a team of senshi." He said. "Named the Blood Moon Court. Before my sister was even a lieutenant, they kidnapped six agents. From what she has told me, she was recruited partly to aid in the search. Eventually, one of them managed to shatter their crystals to bring the rest of the negaverse to their aid."
He shook his head, lightly. "They had been kept for weeks... Tortured. Starved. Kept to the very brink of consciousness at all time, kept to the very limit of their bodies' strength. The rescuers didn't fare much better... Fluorite nearly drowned." He'd nearly lost his baby sister. He swallowed the lump in his throat. "Of the six of them... only three survived. My sister was the one to find one of them. The one to carry his body out so he could have so resemblance of a decent burial. She... still has nightmares of this, to this day, but don't tell her I've told you that."
"In the end, it turned into a giant battle. Many more died, but most of those bodies were not even found. The negaverse returned, a few days later, to bury their fallen on top of the hill. She showed me the battle site, these graves... So I could understand what I was fighting."
"And hopefully... so you can understand what you are fighting, as well. Her warning might seem dire, perhaps out of proportion... But they are not."

They did, his own change had been painful, he he didn't know where it rated among others. And he didn't concern himself with that, pain was different for everyone anyway.
That was good, that someone had been able to do that, but kidnapping. He'd heard that mentioned before, but not in detail. But this group...had kidnapped agents, and that many?
"I won't...but god." There weren't words he could fathom for his feelings. To do such a thing, and for people to survive it. Even if only three had survived it he still didn't see how, the strength especially of ones mind, to survive such a thing. Those people, unknown to him, had his respect in that instant. And for Flourite to have had to do such a thing, no one should have to do such a thing.
This information though helped, it cemented in his mind the fact the senshi really were the bad ones, evil in fact. There was nothing he could think of being worse than that.
"No, your words just made it clearer to me. I see what were truly fighting and to what lengths they will go. I cannot think of people who would do what they did, it takes a very...rare sort of person. Apparently they aren't so rare among their ranks." No, it seemed like he was just in this war. He wasn't wrong, it was the other side which was wrong.
At least those who died had gotten a proper burial, at least those whose bodies had been found. It was good. Silent he let his thoughts grab him, just taking in what he'd learned form Matthew, what sort of people they were against and wondering how much suffering those actions still caused people. Alexandre knew it was nothing he could handle, not on his own, it was the sort of thing which changed a life even more than joining this war did.
"I-I can't fathom such a thing...I can't imagine such happening but I know it did. I trust your words and your sisters." But it seemed honestly impossible for a person, or persons, to be like that. "I'll have to keep myself clear of this Black Moon Court. The enemy within the enemy."

It was horrifying, of course. "We do kill, make no mistake." They did kill and would kill. He'd nearly just killed, and the implications were weighting on him after the initial rush of holding a starseed had faded.
"But never had one of us tortured one of them." He shook his head. "We give them swift, quick deaths. And this is what they do. War... is an horrible thing."
But it needed to be fought, and they were the solders.
He struggled a bit, graping the table to get himself back up. "Did you want something to drink ? Or other questions ? My roommate won't be back for an half hour or so, I think..."
By the way he spoke, it was easy to guess that his roommate was not in the know of this war.

"Which is where the difference is." Killing...could he? No, not now. He couldn't think of taking another life, just like he couldn't think of ever torturing someone else. "I'd prefer sending them to their own bleak planets and doing so forcefully..." He was too new, too emotional to kill. He hadn't seen the senshi's horrible acts first hand. he'd yet to experience such. Once he did...he'd change. He simply was unaware of this and what such things could do to a person, do to himself.
"It can never be anything but...but it can be honorable. This one...isn't, on their part." He knew deaths would happen, he hadn't thought on it or come to accept it. It was something he'd ignored till it was brought right out in to the open. But it would happen, could he keep his own hands blood free?
"No, after the espresso I'm good. I don't think so...but is there anything else I should know, in your opinion?" Of course, why tell someone else? That wouldn't be good, especially if they might also be harboring a secret...

It was a reality that Alunite was slowly starting to accept, to considerate, through he still... couldn't set out in battle with the killing intent. Not yet.
It was just something that... happened.
He certainly did not expect the blonde in front of him to be able to do such a thing. Not yet.
Matthew turned pensive at the boy's question. "I don't think so... ?" Nothing that he could show him, at least. Powering up in his own apartment was out of the question, even if he had been in better health.
Too incriminating.

It was a reality he'd yet to confront, fighting he got. He knew fighting would happen and be unavoidable. But killing wasn't something he'd he'd considered himself doing. He knew, in the back of his mind, it happened. Killings happened in wars. But he hadn't seen death, not yet, and didn't think he could handle it if and when he confronted it.
"Shall I go then? So I'm not around when your roommate shows up?" Avoid the questions and such, it wouldn't be a good thing he was sure. "Just remember to call me if you need anything, even if it's mundane." Alexandre meant that, he was sincere in his desire to help the other should he need it. Matthew had helped him, and was on the same side as him. "Try the salve, if it works I'll be keeping the recipe in case anyone else has need of it."

"That would probably be the best... I wasn't supposed to get out this afternoon." Of course, Sebastian still assumed him to be on a freshly broken injury - he had no idea what he already had some healing done. How could he ?
"I could introduce you both, if you'd like, later." Would they get along ? He... had no idea. Matthew had never been the best at reading people.
"I will." He said with a nod. "Thank you."
