Since Arthur hadn't seemed to have much luck finding Mattie, Ludwig decided to do his best to try to find the Canadian. How hard could tha-- Oh, right. Ludwig was one of the most guilty people of looking right through Mattie, literally. Maybe this was a bigger task than Ludwig had considered...

Well, at least he could keep an eye out for those who might be skipping. According to the teachers who had seniors, most of their class had been missing nearly all day. He knew for a fact he had seen Francis earlier in the day, and he was one of the missing members. Great. The Frenchman was probably doing this just to be difficult. Still, a part of Ludwig hoped Francis would be with Gilbert... He still hadn't seen his brother and was starting to miss him terribly... He even missed that ridiculous story about how he became so awesome that involved talking winds and rabbits and a forest....

What was that sound? Maybe Ludwig was getting a little paranoid or imagining hearing things since he was focusing so hard on trying to find different people. Still, he had thought he had heard the familiar sound of an Italian. Not just any Itali-

Then it hit him. Literally. He stumbled back in light surprise and shock, his eyes a little wide and his hands up in that sort of "don't touch me" way he typically had about him, but he realized who it was and (after a short look around to see no one was watching) returned the hug to Italy with a slight, embarrassed blush. It wasn't just him getting caught off guard that made him blush a little. It was the fact that, all day, he had been afraid something had happened to Italy. Yeah, he worried about Japan as well, but not as much as he did with Italy since Japan was strong and could defend himself well. Italy, though... He was just such an innocent and clueless idiot that if something had happened to him, no clue if the German would have ever seen him again.

His tone held some edge and harshness to it (much like when he barked orders to Italy... well, any time), but the slight sound of concern was hidden among his words. "Italy, where the hell have you been all day? I thought you had either been kidnapped or worse!" He sighed lightly before letting the guy go. No need to prolong the hug and risk getting caught by a newspaper staff member. Elizaveta was on photography duty... And he knew what it was she would love most to get a picture of. (Damn Japan for introducing her to yaoi! Why did such a smart guy have to make such a stupid decision?) He stood up straight and ran a hand through his hair. "You and I are supposed to be in Reading with the rest of the class. However, I'm trying to find Mattie since Alfred was worried about him... You should head to class. Also, I feel I should tell you that Romano was in a very bad mood earlier and does not enjoy the fact that he shares a class with me... I haven't seen him since lunch, so he's probably skipping. You should probably talk to him at some point after school..." He stopped to think for a minute. Italy probably didn't even know where class was from here and would wander around. Or worse, he'll try sticking with Ludwig and get himself in trouble since Ludwig was walking in the halls instead of in class. "... Would you like me to walk you to class?"

Pasta? Really?! THAT WAS WHY HE WAS-- A large part of Ludwig wanted to scream in frustration for being so worried over Feliciano when all he had been doing was sleeping after making pasta! Still, he couldn't bring himself to yell at the guy. He was just thankful he hadn't been up to his antics of trying to make white flags and find quick means of escaping bad situations. Still, Ludwig had to close his eyes and pinch the bridge of his nose a mysterious headache had crept up on him suddenly... "I know you would, Italy. I know." Honestly, some days I wonder if Feliciano really does see me as his friend or is just subconsciously sticking to me to use as a body guard when things turn bad... He seriously hoped it wasn't the whole guard thing.

When Feliciano suggested looking for them together, Ludwig opened his eyes to look at him. It seemed Italy was serious (well, as serious as Italy got) about working together to find the two. On one hand, Ludwig wanted to tell his friend no and that he needed to go to class. On the other, class was almost over, any ways, and he had missed having the cheerful guy around all day Italy had a point on two sets of eyes being better than one... "On second, thought, Italy... Why don't you just go ahead and stick with me? The school day is nearly done, and I can just tell the teachers you felt a little feverish or something to make up for you not being in class all day... But I expect you to wake up on time tomorrow! There's going to be no more excuses this year since we share a room! Understood?" Ludwig stood tall and wore his stern, not-joking expression. Not that it mattered. He had a feeling he'd have to wake the guy up every day if they had a chance of him not waltzing in late for school every day. "And start cooking at night! Pasta shouldn't take that long to make!" He shoved on hand into his pocket before wrapping his other arm over his friend's shoulder. "Come on. Let's pay America a visit to see if he might know where his brother is."
