((Would make it interesting xDD ))
It seemed like forever until Kylar was back. And the entire time Psyche was worried, scared, thrilled, excited...a whole bunch of feelings that was making her heart beat very fast. She jumped a little when Kylar came back, not hearing anyone else coming. Some thief she would be. Psyche blinked. "No one there right now?" As in, hasn't been for awhile? Yes. It would have to be. Kylar had said if it seemed like someone else had been there and might come back he wouldn't take her in there.
Psyche padded after Kylar silently. Now was the time for silence, just in case. She's let out all her excitement and any questions later, when they were safer away. Psyche might love thrills, but even she knew safety and had common sense....sometimes. Her eyes grew wide at the sight of the dwelling and her mouth dropped a bit. "Wow...."

Kylar chuckled at her amazed look, once again reminded that this was her first time seeing a human dwelling. "Cool, right? Humans have the oddest ideas about homes. Speaking of which, the human just left. The likelihood of that human coming back is slim. Still, I made us an escape route." He said softly to her, leading Psyche to the back of the hut.
"Again, the likelihood is slim, but if it can go wrong, it will. This is the way out if they come in. Okay?" He asked, wanting to make sure she was safe. He was allowed to take risks cause he knew he could handle it, having done this a couple of times. She was new and not used to any of this. Kylar wanted to show her an exciting time, not get her hurt.

Psyche stared at the escape route. Just another thing to add to her worries about this. At least Kylar thought to make one. "Wait...you scouted the area and built this all in the time I was waiting there? You have been at this a long time." She took a deep breath. "Got it. One wiff of the humans coming back, if the did, and through here we go."
Psyche studied the back of the building. "Huh...guess they don't care what the back looks like as much as the front do they?" The front looked much more well kept and better looking than back here. She turned a grin to Kylar. "Well? Shall we go see what they have?"

Kylar nodded. "Well, this is very rudimentary and will collapse once it starts raining. Luckily it's not about to rain anytime soon." He grinned at Psyche. "You got it, Psyche. And you're going out first. No arguments, okay?"
At her comment, he actually paid attention to the outsides of the building for more than just escape routes. "Yes. The building is abandoned so the humans using this place want to keep it looking that way. They keep the front open enough to get into the dwelling, but other than that, they don't care. The more run down and hidden, the safer to hide stuff." Kylar grinned at her and whisked through the hole, making sure to use his body to widen the hole for Psyche and pack the dirt one more time.

"No arguments." Psyche was way out of her league here. Kylar knew this stuff better than her so Psyche would listen to his advice. After all, he wasn't trying to keep her from doing fun stuff like Rui did. Although, what if there was more than one human? What if Kylar was outnumbered? What if he couldn't escape by sending her first?
Psyche followed Kylar into the hole, at a slower pace. "But....wouldn't everyone know that run-down buildings are places where they hide stuff? Why would it make it-" Psyche trailed off as she stared wide eyed and gape mouthed at the view. "Woah..."

"These places are run down for a reason. Humans stopped coming, the forest reclaimed the land, and everyone forgot about it. At least until some human stumbles upon it and thinks it's a great place to hide stuff." Kylar replied. "This one is pretty broken down, watch your step." He lead her through the broken supports and rafters to where the pile of shiny was.
"Gold disks...couple of jems...ah! Jewelry." Kylar nosed around in that pile for a bit. "Hey, Psyche! Look at this one!" He nosed out a bracelet with purple stones set in it.

Psyche followed Kylar, gingerly stepping in his pawprints. If it was safe for him to step on, it would be safe for her to step on too. She kept looking this way and that, keeping close behind the other fox, but not to where he might be uncomfortable by the closeness. There was such a thing as personal space, no matter what dangerous situation may occur.
The vixen's head tilted as she looked at the pile Kylar was so excited about. It was shiny yes, but not very interesting in her opinion. She stepped closer to the pile and looked at the bracelet. "So pretty! Humans actually make stuff like this?"

"Yeah, actually. They do have a couple of skills." Kylar replied, though that wasn't what had caught his interest. "Here, look how well the stone is cut. And the weight shows that it's real silver." He held out the bracelet so that she could hold it for a second and feel how heavy the small piece was.
While she held it, he pawed through the pile some more, finding a couple of gold rings and a pendent with a large blue diamond inset. All of them were nice pieces, but not too rare. Kylar explained each of them to Psyche, telling her how to tell the real ones from the fakes. "The diamond is the best piece. I think my elder will want it." He didn't mind giving it away, he wasn't much interested in huge stones.
*i think I'll have the humans come in on Kylar's next post.

Psyche could see why humans and foxes alike might horde these pieces. Kind of. Did not all humans have the ability to make them? Or if so, was it to simply prove that they could steal the items instead of make them themselves? Humans were odd creatures for sure.
"How did you learn about all of this? Is it something your elder teaches you or did you learn on your own?" Psyche's head was spinning trying to keep all the information Kylar was giving her inside her brain. But she had to love his apparent love for what he did, the enthusiasm he had. Why else try to explain everything to her?

"Well...yes and no. If we bring back pieces that aren't rare or if we bring back pieces that are fakes, she sorta...mocks us." Kylar said sheepishly. "But if you listen to what she's saying between the insults, she actually tells you how to spot the real treasures from the useless stuff. I suppose you could call it tough love." Kylar chuckled for a bit, digging out another piece, "This for example..."
Frowning he broke off, ears pricking towards the front of the building. Sounds of tromping could be heard, starting off softly and growing louder. "That's our cue," Kylar siad, slipping on his chosed pieces, "out the hole, quick." He nudged her gently but forcefully towards the back of the hovel.

Pysche's eyes grew wide as a sound drew closer. Forgetting the pretty items laying about, as well as forgetting anything she might have said to Kylar, Psyche allowed herself to be pushed towards their escape tunnel. She took shallow breaths, hoping that no one would hear it. She didn't even bother talking, just paid attention to where her paws were stepping as not to make noise.
As much as she would have liked rushing through the tunnel, Psyche didn't want to make a wrong move, make a noise, or cause the tunnel to crash. What would happen to them if any of that did happen? She took her first deep breath as she made it outside. WIthout looking back she made a dash to the trees. Hiding in the bushes, Psyche turned back, looking to see if Kylar made it out, and if someone was following them.

Kylar watched Pysche disappear down the tunnel and turned to grab his treasures. The door opened and Kylar growled at the human before disappearing down the tunnel himself, the yellow tip of his tail the only thing the humans caught sight of. Writhing through the underbrush, he followed Psyche's scent trail and quickly caught up with her.
"Hey, sorry about that. Unfortunately they come back earlier than usual sometimes. Usually there's less treasure after they leave again...but more of the gold disks." He shrugged, not knowing why the treasures disappeared sometimes. "Come on, lets get out of the area." He looked back and made sure that the human wasn't coming after them.

Psyche whole-heartedly agreed with Kylar. Had the humans seen them as they were leaving? Would they be coming after them? Psyche didn't want to stick around to find out. She could hear Rui's voice in her head. 'I told you this would get you in trouble one day. But did you listen? No. You had to prove you knew best instead of listening to someone who does.' Yeah...Psyche wasn't going to mention this outing to the old grouch.
The adrenaline from almost being caught wore off soon as they made their way farther from the human lair. Psyche looked at Kylar and grinned. "That was...that was...You do that all the time?"

"Yes and no. Like I said earlier: usually the humans don't come back while I'm in there." Kylar shook his head with a mirthless smile. "So, of course, they show up the first time I take a friend with me. Oh, I got you something." He said suddenly. Turning, he looked trough the few treasures he had had time to grab and pulled out a necklace with a clear stone pendant.
"This is quartz. It's not terribly valuable or rare, but it does something pretty cool." Taking the pendant into the sunlight, he twisted it until rainbows shot out around them. "See? I thought you might like it; as a momento from our little adventure." he said, smiling at the female.

Friends? Were they? They had just met. But after what just happened, it made them friend...right? After all, they almost got caught by the humans. She grinned and went to open her mouth to comment on how it had to be her love for adventure that made the humans come when Kylar pulled out the necklace.
Instead of words right away, Psyche gasped. She stared at the quartz, at the rainbows playing on the ground and her and Kylar. "It's so...beautiful!" She brought her eyes up to look at Kylar. "Are you sure you want me to have it?" Surely something that made rainbows would be an item Kylar or his leader would want to keep for themselves.
