Since his revitalizing visit to the market's industrial strength freezer, Noel was back to his usual, happy-go-lucky self. Light blue eyes shone brightly and the usual grin returned as a permanent fixture on his face. A smile was given to all those he passed on the way to the bakery where he had first encountered the guardian cat who resided in his tote bag. Thankfully, their trip had also helped his cloths to air out and he no longer had the appearance of a drowned rat. However, this didn't stop him from walking faster than usual to the bakery as well as taking up some rather aggressive jaywalking in order to get there in the shortest possible time. As he turned a corner, Noel was able to smell the invigorating scent of baked goods and fresh coffee as the bakery was only a few shops down the block.
"Almost in the clear, little lady!"
Placing the bag closer to his face as he spoke to appear as if he were just looking for something inside. Though there weren't any grocery store employees and pets were certainly more welcome on the sidewalk, he didn't like to draw attention to himself or ********* by talking to a cat. Knowing his luck, they would both be carted off to the loony bin. Increasing his pace to an even faster speed, he held tight to the top of the bag as he pushed the doors open and found a seat near the back corner that was perfect for concealing the Manx.
"Okay, we are here! What do you want to eat? My treat, of course!"

It felt like an awfully long time that she was hiding in that bag. She hadn't expected Noel to select a completely different bakery to pick out something for her. ********* wasn't going to complain, of course (free food was free food). However, when she finally peeked out of the bag, she seemed to perk up pretty easily.
Rather than be quiet, the feline mewled out rather loudly.
One could hear a slight stir from the back room, followed by an almost playful scolding "Miss Muffers!"
Playfully, ********* tossed a wink in the boy's direction before hopping out of the bag and padding forward.
The woman glanced to the boy too. "Oh, did she trick you into bringing her in here?" She laughed from where she was behind the counter. "That cat was here all of two hours ago... you'd think she was full!"
The cat still continued to be as social as ever, trilling out a few playful happy sounds.
"Let me see if I have anything in the back for her... I think I might have something special for her!" With that, the woman scurried into the back room again.
With the bakery owner away, the cat would speak up again in a low tone.
"...whatever she brings me will be fine. She won't charge you, because she's a kind woman... but if you could, please leave her a tip. Times have been hard for her lately."

Laughter filled the corner of the bakery as he watched the young attendant disappear into the backroom. Noel found it hilarious that he had encountered the guardian cat only a few short moments after she had left the bakery. The laughter wasn't meant to be offensive or because the young man was surprised, for he was really laughing at the amount of sweets the Manx was able to put away. In a few short moments the laughter subsided and he turned to poke fun at the guardian cat.
"You should really think about visiting an animal dentist since you have one legendary sweet tooth! Haha"
Another quick burst of laughter and he was done for now. Noel actually didn't mind that the two were at the bakery at all, but he still found humor in ********* dedication to sweets. Rising from his chair he looked to find a menu scattered about the small tables in hopes of finding something to drink. Then he took a seat near ********* once more before acknowledging here once more, this time the manner more serious than his earlier jest.
"No problem! My parents are thankfully still doing very well and I'm so happy to help a small business owner. I remember what it was like when my dad first started working on his own and we were always so appreciative of anyone who helped his computer consulting business to grow!"
The usual grin was plastered on his face and he reached into the left pocket of his shorts to retrieve his wallet. Thankfully the heat and sweat that had built up all over him didn't affect the waterproof casing. A perk of being an aquatic athlete, though Noel still would have preferred to never be drenched in sweat in the first place. Letting that go for now, he reached into the wallet and retrieved a folded twenty dollar bill and placed it in her tip jar. He felt awkward paying her in person for something she was giving away for free, so this small act of kindness would have to remain anonymous. Returning to the table, Noel sat next to ********* and awaited her treat from the backroom.
"Whatever she brings you, I bet it is delicious. This little shop smells wonderful. Though I have a funny feeling you already know that."
Playfully, the senshi of winter stuck his tongue out at the guardian cat in jest. Giving her a wink, he proceeded to flip through the drink menu for something cold and rich. A rich aroma had filled his lungs and he was starting to crave one of the shop's many sugary delights.
