"I could show you, even..."
The bakery was just a stone's throw away from his apartment, and from there on it was easy enough to climb his way to a rooftop and hop his way to his own building, with some carefulness to not lose his tiny, furry passenger in transit.
From there he dropped down onto his balcony, slid inside, and finally powered down. About time, too - it had been starting to be a little unbearably hot in that outfit of his.
"These." He gestured to the portable and the two cd-reading devices near it. "Are turntables."

"Oooo?" ********* perked up, intrigued by the idea of investigating the turntables. She hadn't even confirmed that she wanted to see it before Themis was already bounding off to his next destination with the cat perched upon him for the ride. He was obviously close to someplace he was comfortable with, the fact he powered down was a tell tale sign. Of course, she did vaguely recognize the location since it wasn't her first time here (it was something that happened when one traveled across the city).
It was when he pointed to the devices that ********* hopped down off his shoulder, landing on the ground with a solid thud, she proceeded to make her way towards the objects. Certainly, there was a subtle hint of caution in her movements, but she did not seem to be afraid of the items. She pointed a paw at the portion of the device that was closest to her.
"How does one play such an instrument?"

"They're not really instruments in the traditional sense... More like tools."
A small furry shape came out of what was most likely Xavier's bedroom. Oh, that odd cat again ! Tempo meowed, sniffing at ********* but showing no sign of aggression toward the 'intruder'.
Xavier, for his part, had moved to sit on the couch, moving the mouse to kick the laptop out of sleep mode. "I can't play too loudly, not this late, but..." *********, being a cat, might be able to hear okay. Didn't cats have a sharper earring than humans did ?
"This is what I am working on right now." He started playing the file. It was pretty much standard electronic music, really - a lot of repetitive beats - and the blonde seemed to ponder something, before adjusting something on one of the consoles, amping the bass up a bit.

********* nose twitched slightly in acknowledgement of the other feline, but at the moment she was being polite to Xavier. Following in suit, she moved herself towards the couch, easily finding herself a place in his lap. The computer was definitely a more familiar tool to *********, though she didn't make much of a fuss about it. She managed to hear the faint clicking of a mouse-like-tool before he opened the file. Her ears flicked one time before they perked up as tall as they would stand.
Indeed she could hear the beats as they played, and when he turned up the bass, she could still hear it, though the bass seemed to somewhat overwhelm the piece if anything. It wasn't bad (since she didn't know what was considered good to be able to judge if it was bad), but it was different. It probably wasn't the sort of music she'd ever develop an appreciation for, but it didn't mean she wasn't a polite listener.

Xavier seemed to agree - only a few moments before the bass was upped, it was lowered again. Better that way. One free hand reached blindly to pet the top of her head - all to easy, when she was sitting still on his lap and silent, to think that it was Tempo laying there, in her usual spot when he worked.
He yawned, through, shaking his head a bit. It looked like bedtime might have to be soon.

From where she sat, the cat patted the boy's tummy as he yawned.
"Hopefully I have no overstayed my welcome!" she said quietly with a slight giggle at the end. Rather than stay in place, the feline stood herself up, then hopped out of the boy's lap back to the floor.
"Thank you for sharing that with me, Xavier! If you could kindly walk me to the door, I will let you get yourself tucked into bed." With a slight nod of her head, she began to pad towards where the door was.

...Oh, to be honest, he'd pretty much forgotten that ********* had been here at all, once she had gone silent.
How embarrassing ! Perhaps he was really due for some sleep...
"Sorry." His cheeks were tinted a light pink as he picked her up to carry her toward the door, sneaking in some more pets before opening the door and setting her down carefully.
"Be careful out there." He said, giving one last pat on top of the manx's head before raising again. "Good night, *********>
