The Florescetival was very nearly overwhelming, especially for a plague doctor whose idea of festivals involved an absolute maximum of fifty people. Malodore wandered around in a near daze - at least, it did until it fetched up against the machine.
Well. It was here, and the machine was here - and free! May as well! The plague doctor put its hands around the controls and did its best, but no rainbow seed clanked into the return. Ah well.

Carmine wasn't entirely sure what the prizes were for this booth, but he stepped up to the crane machine anyway. He grabbed the joystick, and in typical derpy fashion, flailed it around and then hit the button to drop the claw at some random time.
To nobody's surprise, he didn't catch anything.

The festival had barely begun and already Caethes found himself being pulled from one shining booth to another. Stopping in front of the crane game he smiled. "Free is my sort of thing." He mumbled before taking the controls...
He heard a clank and grinned as he noticed a prize pop out. "Guess it's a lucky day."

After his last time had been successful Kazuka decided to try again. The game was something that he enjoyed seeing as it had him doing calculations, something he was good at. Of course luck did have a good hand in these type of games as well, after all sometimes the crane would slip instead of gripping the prize.
Unfortunately for the lithe reaper, this time his luck had come short and the prize slipped from the claw before it could move more then an inch. He raised an eyebrow and decided next time he would try for something at a better angle.

This game was far more to her tastes. She had already won it once, and used the same method for determining trajectory as she did last time. She was relatively confident this would achieve similar, if not greater results.
She was wrong.
The crane clamped down on the appropriate rock, plucked it up on it's edge, and the rock promptly slid back out.

Having forgotten the previous day's pathetic fail at the crane game, Carmine decided to give it another try. Though of course, he thought it was the first try again. He sauntered up to the machine, and with his face scrunched up and his tongue stuck out to one side he gave it his best shot.
Again, failing miserably, Carmine trotted off to find something else to do until he forgot he played this game and came back once again.

Mo walked up to the tank again touching the glass she really wanted the shiny. She began pushing the buttons and moving the crane wildly "come one". She grabbed another stone again but it slipped right out of the crane's hand. She grumbled bopping her head against the glass then walking off still grumbling.

Muka saw the line die down and with a determined (yet still grinning) face he threw himself into the game with abandon.
Once again his attempt was a failure. The strix chattered his teeth in annoyance, and let loose an out of character kick to the front of the machine.
Poor guy just couldn't win.

Haveing wandered back to the crane game to see if he could get lucky. Adyian walked up to the game, desideing on what rock he was going to go for and once he had done and started to push buttons in moveing the claw were he wanted it to go.
Sighing as he just didn't have any luck with this game and he would be back later on to try again.

A puzzled tilt to her head, the chimera approached the game to press fingers to the glass. Peering down among the prizes hopefully. Rocks? Surely not.. That would make for a silly game, wouldn't? Perhaps they were special? And it was free..
Holding onto that logic the ghoul tried her luck, or lack of luck. Failing to pluck up anything from the pile. With an annoyed hiss she turned and walked away, vowing to return later.

Another day, another try.
Cheerfully Cuinn approached the familiar crane game, ready to give it another shot. The cu sith waved halfheartedly at Mo as he passed her. He could tell by her grumbling that the cat had not been any more successful today than he had been yesterday. Well, that was going to change.
Cuinn was no longer the man he was yesterday! No, he had used the few hours he had spent at home last night practicing. This booth was free so he did not find losing to it as frustrating as, say, losing to that infernal wisp or that mysterious Boogy Box. However, he would never forgive himself if he did not do his best to conquer every challenge this festival threw at him.
Besides, the canine had brought with him secret weapons. Boldly, Cuinn stepped up to the crane game. Before touching it, he popped his knuckles and then dug around in his pockets. First, he donned a pair of dark shades. Then, he slipped on some fingerless gaming gloves.
He had seen some kids dressed like this at the local Scarecade. THEY all seemed to be good at this sort of thing! This HAD to be their secret.
Apparently not. Cuinn was even less successful at this attempt than he had been during his last try. Clearly glasses and gamer gloves were not the solution he was looking for. Sighing then shrugging it off, Cuinn turned away.
He was already crafting a new plan for tomorrow.

Well... may it never be said Van wasn't a sucker for failure. Or, wait, that he was persistent? Even though he kept losing all these damn minigames, he kept coming back for more. Again, at least he could afford to play this one. Cervantes stared at the crane game for a good fifteen minutes before his attempt. At least this time he thought he saw one of the rocks giggle, unlike last time.
Maybe tomorrow he would vanquish it.

"Hello Mr. Crane! I've come to try again!" Syb said, grabbing the joystick of the game and starting. She knew she could do it this time! She had come so close--
Okay, maybe not that close.
In fact, she had barely scraped-- "Eep!" she said, her eyes widening as she realized she had accidentally pushed the drop button, even though she hadn't been planning to! She watched with a groan as the claw bounced off a massive pile of rocks, grabbing nothing at all before it retracted back.
It looked like she really sucked at this game, she thought. "Oh well. Thank you for the game, Mr. Crane!" she said with a wave before running away.

If there were free items to be won, This One would be there. Zen glanced to both sides in turn, hoping that nobody would notice them playing... at highly selective moments, you see, the Komuso had a certain Zense of duty to preserve their [sometimes limited] image. Well, there were loads of people as should be expected of a festival- none of them were paying the monk any particular attention, so This One inched up to the booth as inconspicuously as possible and rubbed their hands together in nervous anticipation. They grasped the controls as awkwardly as someone playing such a game for the first time could, skeletal fingers curling around the joystick with uncertainty. Higher powers of Halloween, zend me luck. Reciting a few prayers in their head, Zen gave the Crane Game a spin.

Alas, these modern games were beyond Zen's ability. But This One would not be deterred by a single failure. This was only their first try aMonk many-!!

Standing in line, Levia watched as those ahead of her tried their luck, giving her a chance to observe the controls and how they operated, preparing her to imitate their every move. A shame she didn't notice how most were losing.
The strange skeletal-monk in front of her seemed to be taking their time, and the grombie wondered if that was how an expert gamer might approach such a task. As the controls fell free, Levia walked up to the device, rubbing her hands together (for that is what all game experts must do, apparently), and tapped the button to begin.
Despite her attempts, the crane must have been displeased with her approach, for no prize did it reveal. She was determined to try again, but for now, there was an entire festival to explore.
