[ The Stairway ]
Cervantes did not understand at all why they were being so unhelpful. All he was doing was conquering the haunted house. If they wanted to waste time and wallow around, it was none of his business... Still, perhaps traveling in numbers would be safer. It didn't occur to him that they didn't fall down all those stairs because the hippogryph stopped him by holding onto the railing. Van was not particularly concerned by race at the moment, and he didn't even think that he was currently in the company of another demon and a monster. He really was more focused on immediate personal goals. That being: do not let pink things frighten you. He was slightly repulsed by the cute hair of the hippogryph, but that was probably good, or so he assumed. It would condition him to the horrors which awaited.
While he listened to the hippogryph talk, his tail was busy carving something into the place where they stood. It said, if anyone was skilled enough to read it, Van came and conquered. The word 'conquered' was the hardest to read, as he seemed to have gotten bored halfway through and merely etched in what he thought counted as letters.
"Is it a compliment?" he asked, not really sure it was. Smelling better did not mean smelling good, at any rate.
He wrinkled his nose as the hippogryph accused him of sending him rolling down the stairs. "What, have you seen everything in this place?" he asked. "If not, maybe there is something scary enough." Really, Van just loved to run. Besides, the sooner he got to the top, the sooner he could consider his fears conquered. He turned to the water demon to see if it was similarly dissatisfied with his behaviour.
And then the fluffy puppy walked by, and he felt many things at once. Firstly, it was very cute which should frighten him, but it was also a puppy. Therefore it had an affinity to his kind, and he found it cute in a.. pleasant? way. The shirt was hideous, though. The water demon appeared terrified of it, and Van reassured him in some capacity: "Don't worry, I'm sure he's edible!" With that, Van made as if to follow the puppy up the stairs, his clawed hands outstretched.[[ OOC: Not to be nosy OTL but I couldn't help but notice you're using the Natural Ability of Marosa? Is he not a quest character? I think that in the rules of the main thread of the Flores...*mumbles the rest* it asks us to please not use our quest chars' natural abilities, as they change often when being manifested as students?]]

Of course, as he realized more people came in, Kala found himself rather distracted from his current travelling partner. Eyes widened as he looked at all the different denizens, and as they streamed about every which way, he began to just drift, checking things out. His mist would occasionally brush by a person or two who caught his curiousity, but for the most part, the ghost remained rather tame...for him. He was also trying to ignore the cute things on the walls. Though they did not BOTHER him, per se, he was not all too fond of them either. He preferred nightmares and fear. After all...he was what he was, right?

After Prom and the torture it put on his core muscles, Damien sincerely hoped that this Floresctival would be less................painful at least.
After seeing the sign that awaited with all its bright, pink sparkly ...ick.... Damien just stared at it in disgust for what it represented. They really went all out for this. Considering that they touch the materials to put all this together, the hound would have to give them props for it.
It still didn't make him want to go in and see what else awaited. But there was a line forming behind him and he wasn't going to punk out in front of all of them. but after stepping past the door's boundaries he knew he was going to regret it.
It was just too bright in here, TOO PINK. without taking a proper look around, and all the strange pictures and colors and .... dear jack... there was glitter on that railing? The hound just wanted to get to another area of the house as he bounded up the stairs and bumping into the Were-tiger before spinning around to face the one he almost ran over. "Sorry, had to get away, too much pink!"

She didn't know what had actually possessed her to come here, except her Jack damned curiosity. And the fact that there were several students (and others she didn't know at all) drifting towards this...haunted house. Haunted. House. The she-wolf just about turned back from the entrance, but that stubbornness of hers held her where she was. She could do this. If she could pass her exam, she could jacking do this! Plus, there were others waiting to enter behind her.
LW entered the haunted house cautiously, not sure what to expect. Really, she should expect anything here. Why hadn't she waited to see if one of her best friends wanted to go with her? Oh right. She'd been too restless in her dorm and had gone outside. Then started following some other students as they headed towards...a festival? And thus, she wound up at the haunted house. By herself. With no idea what was inside. Oh Jack she was gonna lose her courage! No! She could do this. She- her nose wrinkled and violet eyes widened in surprise. Oh...oh Jack...
The she-wolf twisted around looking all over. It was...so pink. Pink! Very bright and pink. LW's tail swished and she felt that stubborn courage ebbing away even more. Oh man this was not a good idea. She should have waited for one of the others. Wait, was there another canine student here? LW didn't even wait to figure out if she recognized the scent (which she did) and bolted after that. Other familiar scents hit her nose, but the she-wolf wanted the comfort of another canine (since her best friends weren't here currently). And she all but bounced into the canine in question. Not just any canine. It was the hound! Crap, what was his name again? "S-sorry!" LW squeaked out a little only then realizing there was another boil here. A were-tiger she swore she'd met before. "Demi! Jove's friend?" That was his name, right?

Being downwind didn't really help him with locating allies and friends in such a horrible looking place. all the strange sights and smells was already flooding his nose with the smell of icky flowers and just how could anyone tolerate this? He was already feeling on edge and didn't know the creatures was going to pop out and try to hug him.
He barely suppressed the shudder that wracked through his body. his tail wasn't waving about, it stuck low and dragged behind him on the ground, catching up horrid bits of confetti and glitter.
Damien was not liking this place, not one bit and resemblance of courage went out the window once he heard the sound of children's laughter and feathers falling from the ceiling, he wanted out, out ou- OH JACK WHAT THE HECK WAS BEHIND ME?!
The petrified hound let out a startled yelp as his ears shot straight up and almost piddled himself, and the scent of the fellow canine took over the overpowering smell of flowers that reminded him that it was friendly. "Oh yes, LW right?" he asked after a moment when his heart fell back into a slower pace. "What brings you in here?"

Faint let out an automatic growl as he was bumped into, narrowly avoided hitting the glittery railing. He rubbed his arm as he turned to the hound boil and took a deep breath to calm the OMGWTFGLITTER freakout he was having internally. He'd come so. close. "I understand." He responded with a growl, eying the accused color.
Not long after, a werewolf he recognized showed up, seeming intent on the hound. He shook his head and offered a slight smile at her apology. "Christmastown?" He tilted his head, positive that's where he'd seen her. Not that he remembered much. He tried to keep it out of his thoughts. So much cold. Being unable to control his shift. It sucked.

Pickles had been hoping the Festival, with all its glowy colors past the open gate of the academy, would involve a buffet. He adjusted his decidedly bland jacket and threadbare pockets. There were a lot of booths, but no foodcarts, and he was...low on seeds any way.
The house, maybe. Houses had kitchens, didn't they?
With the careful tip-toeing of someone not usually invited into houses, Pickles crept into the self-proclaimed Haunted House, hoping for a few friendly ghosts.
What he didn't expect was rentlessly sparkly decor and, faraway, the sounds of happily gurgling babies.
"G-gosh, spooky!"

Ren had promised to go along with Jove to the festival, but what he had not promised - nor really expected - was finding both him and his little brother stuck in the middle of a very odd haunted house.
"Erm," said Ren. "It's, er. Pink."
And not just any pink; a bright, fluorescent pink that kind of made his eyes hurt. There was a smoggy, pale pink fog that curled around the building, which stood out absurdly amidst the rest of the relatively tame booths ("relatively' being the key word), and Ren stood there for a moment, his good hand resting on Jove's shoulder.
"Well," he said, after a moment. "Shall we, er...go in?"
He wasn't entirely certain that the puppy would actually follow him, so Ren flicked his tail out, curling it around Jove's to sort of anchor the boil to him and not lose him. "Hey, Jove, stay clo - where exactly are you going, mister?"
The puppy had already started towards the house, and with a sigh, Ren tugged him back. "Stay with me, okay?" he instructed. "I don't want to lose you."
Or get stuck in there by myself, really. But Ren kept that to himself. He carefully pushed Jove forward in front of him and stepped into the haunted house and towards the nearest thing - a staircase.

“Maybe, or maybe not. It doesn’t matter much to me anyway since I know my own hygiene and know I am not a walking mess. And yes, as a matter of fact I have seen this place, and I have been hearing the screams of those whom have already encountered their horrors. However, I-“
Rykier stopped as a small ball of puff made its way past them. Flowers, hearts and pink fog he could deal with. The glitter as a tad creepy, but he mad due with it. The dog in the childish shirt however was a bit over the line. Its fluffy fur, and “pet me, I’m cute!! <3 BOWWOW!” face, and just the cute manner is naturally walked in, it all made Rykier stiffen with disgust. He was already using everything in him to stay put and not slowly make his way back over towards the staircase.
“At least the thing isn’t rolling around asking for a belly rub, or doing tricks, for now anyway.” He said with a shiver and a shake of his head.
With careful eyes Rykier watched at the Dog Demon followed after the puppy. He didn’t know if the guy was a fool, or just foolishly brave, but either way it was all going to end in horror, or amusement.
Turning his head slightly back towards the water demon Rykier whispered,
“You..You don’t think cute little dogs like that actually eat creatures like us, do you? I mean I’ve heard stories, but they are just that, stories. I’ve never actually seen it happen. Do you think he should follow after him or something?”
On that note, as if on cue, another puppy made its way in and followed after the dog demon and his target.

Childeren laughing, sounds of play, all the Pink and OMG GLITTERFUL HAPPY on top of the startled yelp from the hound boil just about did her in. LW was frozen to the spot she stood, tail wrapped around her legs and eyes wide. She was almost terrified to turn and look behind her, thinking there just had to be something behind her. But when she did, there was nothing. Yet.
"Yes. LW." She got out in a less squeaky voice. "I...err, don't actually know what I'm doing in here." This was definitely not the place for a wimpy she-wolf. "What about you? What are you doing here?" Another round of giggles made her step closer to the two boils. Two. Oh right!
LW glanced at the were-tiger and blinked. Christmastown. That was it! "Yes! You were in my train car, I think?" The she-wolf offered him as much of a grin as she could manage when every little sound made her cringe and duck down a little. "I'm LW." Something, she couldn't be sure what the sound was, had the she-wolf almost clinging to both boils. "Whatwasthat?!" Whyyyy had she come in here?

Artemis stopped his descent down, having reached a landing. He looked back to see if his partner was still following, and he wasn't. Giving a huff, Art decided to sit down and take a bit of a rest. The floor was booby trapped, giving off the sound of a kitten meowing. Ick. This just caused Art to pout even more, crossing his arms and pulling his hood farther down his face, to cover up. This was so dumb! Why had he even come in here?
Biting his lip, Art thought how hard this would be, all by himself. He hoped that actual school wouldn't be like this, leaving him lonely most of the time. He liked being around people, and he liked to be noticed.
Sighing, he looked up at another portrait of fluffy cuteness, and glared. He would do this himself if he had to. No way some dumb "haunted house" was going to best him. Steeling himself once more, he got up and looked straight into the kitten's eyes.
"I. Will. Own. You." He growled, before scratching holes in the eyes of the portrait. There, much better. With that, he walked down the tunnel, awaiting whatever decided to pop out at him.

His grip was forceful, teeth razor sharp behind the puckered lips that pressed her skin...for whatever reason, knowing that they were there made her squirm in his grip. She usually liked that kind of touch, in fact she usually liked any kind of touch but in the case of this boil...she just wasn't sure what to feel just yet. In any case her lips spread in a tiny, semi-welcoming grin before parting to speak curiously.
"My outfit?" She mauled over the comment with a lifted brow, resting her free hand on her rising chest while her orange gaze fell to the jeans and shirt, and shoes on her feet. There was nothing too spectacular about what she was wearing... perhaps he fancied the simpler things in life?
Although by the looks of his own attire, that theory was highly unlikely.
Although somewhat perturbed by the boil and his uncanny resemblance to a bird--Natalia chirped in delight before leaning in and whispering playfully. "You said you were not a student yet, right? Stop by my dorm some time when you are accepted and I will show you some of my fancier get-ups? Uh--what was your name again?" The insinuation was deep, the question tilting her own head ever so slightly, but her sweet smile might have deterred most from assuming what it was she meant by the statement. All the same, she took her hand out from the boils grasp and stepped backwards, giving the room another look. Yes...the staff...
They were known to be tricky individuals.
Pursing her lips before settling her hands on her hips Natalia nodded her head once and continued, with or without a mention of a name. "Positively cheerful indeed. It is a little overbearing actually...and I usually do not mind a little pink." Around the room her head spun, twisting her torso left and right before her eyes were focused on the students entering the haunted house, and wandering nearer to them.
She would have gone sprinting down the hall and toward LW if it weren't for the strix and the nameless young ghoul beside them, instead settling grudgingly on the tips of her toes to wave in the were's direction, before glancing back to the boil she had questioned. A look of impatience flashed across face, wanting to know his name for future reference...but also wanting to leap into the arms of her were companion now that no signs of a gryphon were found.

A happy, shrieking scream of joy had Faint ducking down and wrapping a hand gently around LW's arm. His sharp teeth were bared and his slitted eyes darted around unhappily. It even smelled like happy, giggly young child in here. Or maybe that was the scent that pink made when it was EVERYWHERE.
Cringing, he nodded. "Yeah, same car. I'm Faint." He squeezed her arm softly when she freaked out, trying to give her some reassurance. This place was jacking creepy. His tail poofed a little as a teddy bear with cute button eyes and a rainbow bowtie came rolling down the hallways and he snarled at it as he jumped out of the way.

The feathers that landed around the hallway was vast and strangely fluffy and just... sticking to his fur, gross. Damien had the urge to shake the feathers off and stomp them into the sparkly ground and then brush the feather that was sticking to LW's ear.
"Same as you LW." he said back as he followed the Were-tigers lead and jumped to claw at the wall. "Well they went all out with this place. and what's this about a traincar?" he asked quietly before waving at the boil that was with them. "Damien." he said with a grunt before shaking off some more feathers.
