Guy stood up and began to hurry over to where Luke was sitting. As he walked, though, for a brief moment he could see the, indeed, striking resemblance between his friend and Asch. The similarity was almost terrifying, and in that moment, Guy's steps faltered. Wait, what was he doing?! He should know better than that. Asch is nothing like Luke. ...No, actually, he was very like Luke. Too much like him. But that was something that would be necessary to talk about later. Right now, all focus was on his master's well-being.

He got to where Luke was sitting and stood, hands resting on his sword hilt. From the way that he looked and the way that he downed the water he was given, it was almost as if Luke had run all the way from Camphoreon to here. That would be crazy, but, Guy had to admit, impressive.

Guy patted the top of Anonymes' head as the Lampent hovered over to his shoulder. He frowned at Luke's question and was silent for a moment. How on earth could he explain...? Rosie, it seemed, found her voice first, and Guy gave her credit for it. This must have been so hard on her... Guy sighed and folded his arms. "Long story short, they infiltrated the contest. Several Pokemon were stolen, including... miss Rosie's Vaporeon." He gritted his teeth.

"They did a neat job," Dith sighed, sinking carefully down into a chair again, "neat as in... eh, as in effective not tidy. We weren't any match for them, especially that puff-haired one who punched the chairman." If he could get his hands on her he could snap her limbs like twigs. He didn't like that the thought of snapping somebody's limbs even entered his mind. Damn he was tired, tired and - now he though about it - he was hungry. He hadn't eaten since before the contest. He should probably do something about that soon, and indeed his stomach chose that moment to growl its agreement. For the time being, however, he ignored it. A few more minutes wouldn't do him any harm.

Her stance become very close in on herself, hands clenching onto one another very tightly, her shoulders tightening and rounding as her face was turned down.

"They came so quickly, everything was fine one second, and the next they were everywhere, people were screaming."
She paused, but didn't stop. letting go of one of her hands just long enough to reach up and rub at the side of her neck. playing nervously with the strap of her dress.

"That boy that I said looked like you was there, his name is Asch,"
It wasn't sure if she was starting to shake from nerves, or from how stiffly she was standing. "It all happened so quickly, Miss. Lola screamed, she needed help, I wanted to help, but Asch grabbed me, he had a knife."

Speaking very quickly, story breaking, mostly into what she remembered.
"I don't remember what happened." She chocked, shaking her head "just that Guy was fighting him, And Vany'n was....Vany'n was, She..."
Here she stopped again, her throat closing up on her.
It was hard to breath like this, she tried to swallow a few times so she could manage to open her mouth again, sniffing, and now rubbing at one of her eyes.
Picking up at another part, since she couldn't seem to finish where she had left off.
"There was blood, I remember blood, Guy's sword was covered in it... Dith was laying in it."

She had fully intended for this story to make sense, she had EVERY intention in being very calm, and reasonably relaying the events, as they had happened to Luke.
But it was clear that that wasn't going to happen, as her condition was rapidly deteriorating, and she wasn't able to get out much more than broken bits of her memory.

She was feeling scared again, only added to this fear was the fact that she was having a hard time remembering anything but what stood out most prominent... how had she gotten out of Asch's grip? How had Asch gotten away? how was Dith hurt? Where was Vany'n?
Why couldn't she remember? She was trying to remember!

"I-I don't know... maybe..?" Izumi curled into her legs, hiding her face again.

Realizing that now was probably not a good time to interrogate the poor young woman, Shawn resigned himself to patting her back lightly as she curled up and hid her face. He really wanted to help, but there wasn't much more he could do.

While Izumi remained withdrawn into herself, the Rocket boy watched and listened to the others a few feet away. He visibly stiffened at the sight and proximity of the pidgeot as the pokemon entered the building. It was a very large bird and he had no doubt it could do some damage if it wanted. However, the girl called Rosie had quickly returned it to its ball, allowing Shawn to relax once more.

"Hey, um..." he spoke up hesitantly, leaving Izumi's side a moment to stand on his feet after Rosie had started talking about blood. He didn't like where the conversation was going, and it didn't sound like talking about it here and now would do the young woman any good. "I know I'm just some random kid, but it looks to me like these young ladies - " He looked over Dith, Luke, and Guy. "- Er, maybe more like everyone could take a break from all this stress. What about taking your mind off pokemon for a while? Get a bite to eat? You guys must be starved."

User ImageHe was used to hearing about and seeing blood, sure, but it seemed this Rosie wasn't. Izumi might have been, but it was clear she was just as distraught about her stolen pokemon as Rosie was. It truly amazed Shawn how much these people cared for their pocket monsters. Maybe if the others could let him tag along, he could find out more. Or, if not, he could slip away and head back to the base to find out details from the culprits' point of view. Whatever fate allowed. "There's a place I saw earlier on the way here. Not the highest quality, but not bad either. Maybe you guys should head there. Get your mind off things for a bit."

Shawn took a deep breath, feeling the pressure. He knew it might have sounded like an inconsiderate thing to say, especially considering that he was one of Team Rocket. If he said the wrong thing, he could possibly hurt the girls' feelings even more, or worse, get one of the guys angry at him and ready to pound or cut him up. Still, after all was said and done, Shawn felt the least he could do for these people was take the risk. No matter how much he owed Team Rocket, he thought someone would have to be inhuman to not feel guilty around these people and their sorrow.

"Listen, I know this is hard for you all, but there's nothing you can do. At least not for now," he pointed out. "Just take care of yourselves and try not to think about things you can't change. It'll just frustrate you more and it'll take harder to heal, both physically and emotionally. Believe me, I know." The loss of his mother and then the abandonment by his father had taught him that. "If the time comes...when it comes, you can make a move and takes things slow. Sometimes, though, the best thing to do is just wait things out and take it easy. Let things blow over before your rage and hate and sadness make you do something stupid."

Rosie's disposition alone confirmed what he had feared even without the explanations that ensued. He made every effort to tune out the words that chased and bit at his temper, inciting anger with every syllable that reached him. He didn't care how organized or effective they were, he didn't care who got matched, he didn't care about this weirdo who supposedly looked so much like him...

...but that someone had threatened his friends and taken something precious from them, he would not tolerate. Before he realized he had moved, Luke was standing diagonally in front of Rosie, one hand resting on her shoulder and the other bound tightly around the hilt of his sword on some violent instinct. His voice was surprisingly calm, almost alien even to himself, "You don't have to tell me."

A voice from aside, speaking with enough projection to command attention, drew a sidelong gaze from Luke. The suggestion of eating went without response on his part; he wasn't hungry at all and couldn't even imagine feeling hunger any time in the near future. The suggestion that they should avoid thinking about the ordeal, that there wasn't anything they could do about, however, elicited a response.

"We can change it." His words were firm, bordering on anger without quite reaching it. "If we just sit around and wait until we're not sad about it anymore, we lose our chance to change it. If you wanna just sit here and forget it ever happened, fine." He instinctively directed his attention back to Rosie. "But I'm going to get Vahy'n back. Even if I have to do it alone. Even if it kills me. I don't care." It was a vain thing to say for a teenage boy with a fair grasp of swordplay in a controlled environment and a single, inexperienced Flareon, but not a single word was uttered in arrogance. As long as Vahy'n made it safely back to her trainer, it didn't matter what he had to do.

As Rosie spoke and relived through the many waking moments of that horrible incident, Guy felt a pang of deep sympathy for the young woman. This had probably been so very traumatizing for her, to have something so precious and dear to her just ripped away... He knew how that felt. He knew it all too well, and it was something that no one, no matter who they may be or what they might have done, should ever have to live with. Her situation was so painfully similar to his. She was even having memory lapses... She was just like him, and he allowed it to happen. How could he call himself a man now?

He was ripped away from his train of thought by the sound of Luke's voice. His younger friend's tone was a dangerous one, spoken with passion and fury fueling it. Those alone could not provide enough, though, as Guy knew, again, all too well.

"We can't afford to do anything rash," he said suddenly, hand resting on the hilt of his sword. "We also can't just sit around and do nothing, and wait for them to attack us again." He cast a glance in the direction of the young stranger nearby. "Just sitting around will leave us open to another strike." A heavy sigh escaped his lips as he closed his eyes for a brief moment, as if to shut out all of the misery that had encircled them all in the past few hours.

"Believe me, Luke, I want to get Vahy'n back as much as you do," he said, now turning to his friend. Worry creased his brow. "...But you can't do this alone. Not without help. And besides, you don't even know where they could have gone!"

"Da," Dith nodded, "is not like there is a map to wherever they are based... To do nothing though is no good, they are hardly going to go away but as Guy says we cannot charge off like a crowd of angry Tauros." What could they do though? It seemed that the police were just about powerless to stop Team Rocket: they were too clever and too ruthless for the slow lazy pigs tied up with their paperwork and procedures to deal with. Looking to the law was as useless here as it always was, but then that was no surprise to him. The problem looked just about insurmountable from where he was sitting, but he couldn't let that put him off if he was going to find Jack and... and... and then do whatever it was he was going to do when he found him.

"We will need to make plans," the hulking man said decisively after a moment, rising slowly to his feet once more. "Here though is not the place. We will go and find somewhere quiet and less public... Those of us who wish to be involved anyway." This of course was assuming that the kids were even interested in his input, but frankly he couldn't see any of them turning down help... What about the dark-haired kid though? Where did he fit in? Luke was a friend of Rosie and Guy's, Izumi had lost her precious pokemon just as Rosie had, he had been involved in the whole mess and had of course his private motives but he didn't know who the other boy was or whether or not he'd be interested in trying to help. At least he'd made a sensible suggestion about food though, even if they didn't feel hungry it would do all the kids good to eat something.

There was nothing but truth In what Guy and Dith were saying. It was a hard truth, and it left one's capacity to hope to be tested.
But at the moment thats not what Rosie needed to hear, and thats not what she heard.

The moment a hand was laid on her shoulder, she was snapped out of the pit of confused darkness and fear. Suddenly aware again that she was standing amongst other people, and other Pokemon, in a public hospital.
All she could see though, to some surprise, if the rapid blinking of her watering eyes was any indication, was Luke, now standing across from her.

His words did reach her, and even if the reality of the situation would indicate that Luke was simply being driven to theses words by an emotional reaction, words that were quite foolish, These were the words that Rosie needed to hear right now.
Even if its just for a little bit, she needed to feel like things were going to be okay, and with the doubtless tone in Luke's voice, she honestly believed it.

Guy spoke, and than Dith, They had a more rational approach to what Luke had said, but even so, what he said, indicated that he was in this as well.
It didn't sound like they were going to give up either.

Kiss Kiss seemed to approve of this. Ears twitching as she sat up higher onto her hind legs. Looking from Rosie, who was clutching her hands together at her chest, than over to Guy and Dith.
No way they were going to give up! They couldn't, and Kiss Kiss was going to do her part to get her team mate back from Rocket as well.
For being such a cute, lovable mouse, Kiss Kiss was certainly more of a go-getter than she let on.

"Pika Pi!" She snapped in agreement, bouncing over and hopping right up onto Guy's shoulder, perching herself onto his head and holding a fist up to shake it.

Rosie might have been in a better state to discuss this, if the words of her friends hadn't invoked such an emotional reaction.
She wasn't alone this time.
Her head drooped again, but she stepped forward, arms suddenly wrapping tightly around Luke's neck, not caring that he was sticky and... rather gross from his trip.
She finally sobbed,
Crying into his shoulder with a mixture of gratitude, fear, sadness, and great awe, and love for the people who were around her.
Good people.

She would have to apologize later for probably embarrassing poor Luke with her emotional weakness.

Shawn's face fell at the red-head's resolve. Sure, his determination was admirable, but Shawn also thought it was stupid. Seeing as though the young man was equipped with a sword and spoke with tones bordering on anger, however, the younger teen chose not to voice this particular opinion.

"...Yeah, man, that's all very awe-inspiring and stuff, but c'mon. Listen to yourself. Even if I couldn't possibly imagine what chance you have to change things in your current situation, waiting wouldn't hurt. I mean, what've you got to go on right now? What leads do you have? What are your plans? Where are you going to start?" he asked, exasperated. "Nothing. Nada. Zilch. You don't even know what you're going to do. Your talk is pretty convincing enough, but what's the point when you have no where to go from here? Determination is a great source of willpower, but when you have nothing to use that will for, it's useless."

Luke was beginning to remind Shawn of himself back before he had started training with Team Rocket months ago. It amazed him how much he had learned since then, like how to keep a cool head in a situation that tore at your insides and messed with your feelings. Okay, maybe he wasn't perfect at it yet, but at least he was still in the process of learning and he knew now how to recognize when his actions were nothing more than the results of being headstrong. This, the kid felt, was exactly the path down which he was sure the red-haired teen was headed.

With a heavy sigh, the spiky-haired young Rocket dropped his shoulders. He didn't mean any disrespect toward anyone, but he felt just as tired as any of the other trainers in the room and it was beginning to show. The blonde guy had a point about sitting around leaving them open to another strike, but truthfully, Shawn didn't believe that being on full alert would make them all that better prepared against another of Team Rocket's attacks.

They weren't such a successful criminal organization for nothing, and they far outnumbered this handful of passionate trainers. There was no contest as to which side Shawn would have placed his bets on, despite his sympathies parted evenly between the two. The trainers just didn't seem to have much of an idea of who they were up against, particularly the brash red-head. At least the blond guy with the sword seemed to somewhat understand what a reckless decision his friend was making.

Listening to the giant adult speak was at least somewhat more reassuring. He sounded as though he had a pretty level head on his broad shoulders which was another advantage in addition to his massive brawn. As he pondered the man's physical strength, however, Shawn decided he couldn't stay after all. He had to report back to base and he certainly didn't want to be caught among a bunch of trainers if some were sent to go look for him. That could have caused unwanted confusion on either or both sides. Moreover, the skinny street kid wasn't so fond of the idea that he might have to oppose the great Russian trainer lest he be found out as a Rocket. Best to quit while he was still ahead - especially with that spooky ghost lantern thing going around hugging people.

With a couple of last, fleeting glances in Rosie's and Izumi's directions, Shawn shrugged his shoulders and turned toward the hospital exit. "Suit yourselves, guys. I really hope everything works out for you and you get your pokemon back, but I also hope you don't hurt yourselves trying to do that either. Team Rocket hits hard and fast, and they won't let anyone stand in their way. You've got to be more careful with your decisions, or next time it might be more than just your pokemon that those criminals take from you."

He walked out, his back turned on the trainers in a cold gesture, but his well-wishing was genuine. His jolteon, ears perked, hopped to her paws and ran after him to tag along at his heels before he disappeared out the doors. "Good luck. You're going to need it."
