Alright, so before I express my thoughts:
These thoughts are in no way a bash upon Native American spirituality. I am a Native American myself, and though I do not believe a lot of the lore, I still uphold some traditions.

Now then. My thoughts upon the article:

I do not believe in doomsday conspiracies. There is no given proof of it, so therefore I cannot bring myself to believe in them. While the article was incredibly interesting, I still do not find myself believing that a buffalo, as rare as it is, could bring about the "end of the last days." (Ray) The rare-ness of these bulls also leads me to ponder how they are even brought about. I don't understand the albino thing I suppose, and I'd like to understand it better. I suppose that's really the only thoughts I have.

But it was a really good article! ' q'

I found it very interesting, we talked about it a lot at work. I still want to see if I can find what the elders said what the prophecy was from the birth.

I think that it is very interesting that a white buffalo was born without albino traits... however... I am of the mind that all life is sacred and special. Personally, it is a bit silly to think that one animal is more special than another just because it is curiously colored. Though who am I to say what isn't and isn't sacred? sweatdrop

Awww! What an adorable little harbinger of doom! <3

Ha... While I don't really believe in any "end of the world" myths, this one certainly sounds interesting. :3 I'll have to look into it further.

I love that there is such belief still left in Native American ways. I tend to think the last of it is being washed out, but it's a great thing that's happened. And the rarity only adds to the event. :3 He'll be a special little boy. <3

As an anthropology student who focuses on the role, memories, etc in folklore and folk traditions, I am over the moon and gobsmacked that the Native Americans still talk about sacred animals and prophecies. It's culturally extremely healthy and a blessing to still know and remember that kind of stuff these days, and getting the Native Americans involved in the life of this amazing calf is just sooo awesome. <3333333333

It is adorable.

I heard about white buffalo before and seen many documentaries about it and love to hear about Native American prophecy about it.

Being a bit of an X-Files geek ... there was a mention of a White Buffalo being born ... and then dying. ~*Shrugs*~

I wonder what the revelation the elders will decide that this animal is said to portend to. It'd be interesting to know.

I can't believe just how amazing that man must feel right now to be able to witness such a creature and know that his ranch is where it was born. And it is equally amazing that the creature was born to rancher who belonged to the culture that believed he was sacred and not to just any old rancher.

The story itself is interesting. I'm curious to how these creatures come about but I'm not like some others who want another white buffalo born.

If it's true about 4 White Buffalo bringing about the end of the world ... I'd rather say that 3 is enough. Lol.

Then again ... look at the guy who has been wrong so far about when he believes the end of the world will be... :: shrugs ::

Overall cute story and cute pet. Good luck to all entering.
