BeyondThe Grave Ok so you know how mako reactor in the game FFVII drain Mako energy from the planet true yes this is a fact.heres another fact if you played the game you should also know it's the energy, life and blood of the planet. when it's gone the planet dies. Well doesn't some of that sound Familiar like the oil in the earth like i'm not saying it's true. i know it's just a game, a realy good game, my favorite game, but don't you think this could be possible i mean there are machines world wide acting as Mako reacters gathering oil from the earth. do you think that that could be our planets blood or some thing I don't think oil is the planets blood. Oil is created in some messed up process that involved pressure, heat and dead things. Oil isn't flowing around like Makou is.

I wonder how the present administration feels about the knowledge that one of the most popular video games ever involves the player being a terrorist...

onjay3000 This is no coincidence. Have you noticed with every Final Fantasy series, the Antagonist has always been a figure, or action that has, or is happening. Take FFX for instance. The main base is restraints on religion. Even though the religion is widely believed and very much in power, it's also hurting, and destroying it's people. Does that sound like anyone that's in political power right now? Also FF8, the antagonist was being controlled by one person. Sort of like a former president who happened to get caught cheating on his wife... I'm not naming names though. Final Fantasy's deal with real life issues, but put a twist or a spin to it to seem like it's nothing like the real life. And also if you notice with FF7, the protagonist is also the antagonist. A group of terrorists... yeah. Destroying buildings to try and make a point... hey hasn't that happened before in real life? I'm not trying to offend anyone, but this is just my stand point! ...nice i respect you

You can't take an analogy between oil and Mako energy completely literally, obviously oil doesn't revive people or cure diseases, but there is a definite comparison to be made. I was just thinking about this a while ago myself. I think it's the general destruction of our environment to facilitate human comfort and technology that is being showcased here.
Oil is something the exists within our planet, a byproduct of living beings, that is drawn out to light our lamps and fuel our cars. In the process we are hurting our earth and creating a crisis for ourselves, because the supply isn't endless. I think that's an arguable point of similarity.
By the way, I always thought that to use human souls to power your nightlight was the ultimate evolution of the greedy corporations. xd

No. Mako is liquid souls, pretty much. Oil is made from decayed carbon. Oil is what happens when bodies/plants decay inside the earth. Thus the term fossil fuel.
For us to have an energy source like Mako, it would require the lenet to be alive, similar to the Yuuzhan(SP?)-Vong Worlds of Star Wars. For that is what I believe Planet Gaia is; a sentient, living being.

Im not going to say it cant be true but im also not going to agree with you on that one mainly because in alll actuallity the main source that keeps our earth going isnt oil though it does seem that way because many people fight over it through war and other means but the true source that will never be able to be replinished is water though you may think this is non since becaese of the whole precipitation water cylce thing you gotta think all the people drinking it there body will take in some of it as harvested water which will not be able to go through the water cycle. soon enough the water of our planet will cease to be a compound and this planet will dry up no matter what anyone says its doing it faster and faster now a days because the populations are growing and we all need water to sustain life so think about that before you stop to think about the unneeded necesity of oil.
