Just as you're about to leave the house the leaf starts to twitch. It seems like it's green colour starts to pale and now it bends itself so far that it looks like it's performing a strange dance. What's happening ?
PostPosted: Sat Apr 22, 2006 2:39 am

Arafel froze, mid-way out the door. Her eyes locked on the paling leaf, soon widening. Pale... pale was bad! Holy crap I did kill it! Should I bury the evidence? What? No!
Her flustered thoughts froze once more as the leaf began to move, simply staring and looking quite befuddled.

Futoeki strained to peer back at what was going on with his vee, leaning over the edge of the carrige to where only the seatbelt could hodl him inplace. He did manage to catch a glimpse of the dancing. This sight made the boy give a small giggle, and cause his twin to try and see as well... Though not near as much effort was put into it.

As if the paleness wasn't enough yellow spots start to spread on the leaf's surface. Suddenly a hiss can be heard, which seems to echo through the whole room. The leaf is twitching faster now.

Once again the wereelf was left befuddled, her stare indicated that her brain had probably shut down as soon as she thought it died. Normally, she was a bit smarter... But when flustered it could have fairly humorous, or disaterous outcomes.

In this case, probably a mixture of both. She blinked a few times, as if trying to clear her eyes from the new spots that had appeared, turning the pot this way and that to look at all angles.
FWUMP.
A giggle was heard from the two boys. Arafel now found herself flat on her back... Pot and.. somewhat-a-leaf now settled on her chest as she continued to watch. Her brain spinning, trying to find atleast one logical thought. Like what to do.. or how she fell..

The leaf doesn't seem to mind the change and finally something very creepy starts to happen. A red smoke starts to cover the leaf itself and for a moment it seems like it's dropping it's skin. Then the smoke covers the whole room. It's as thick that you're not able to look through it and all the time the hissing can be heard as if to remind you that it's still there.

Out of sudden the smoke vanishes. Ilori lies on your lap and looks up at you with gleaming red eyes...

A few baby-coughs where all that was there amongst the smoke. The weight of the pot had left her, and soon after that hit recognition she started trying to sit up; reaching foreward to feel around for something...
Bap.
Her hand recoiled as it hit something, the woman flinched a bit moving her hand slower this time. The soft touch of hair hit her fingertips, followed by two pairs of smaller hands.

One would think the open door would have made the smoke vanish all of a sudden, however... it was far too abrupt for that. Ofcourse, no one seemed to care where the smoke had gone.
"Ilori?" Arafel questioned the near ball of a toddler latching onto her hand. This received a bit of acknowlagement, a tiny smile playing it's way ont he child's lips, as well as uncoiling herself some.
Arafel stared a moment more, before a huge grin hit her. The light thumping of her tail against the floor started up as she scouped the python into a hug. "You're not dead!" was the first joyous exclimation.

After a moment of hugging she pulled Ilori away, proceeding to the second exclimation. "You're.. A snake! Reptile, I knew it!" Ilori blinked at the woman, frowning at the fact she had been pulled away. She reached foreward, giving a more firm pout and wiggling her fingers.
Arafel smiled, pulling her back into a softer cradle of a hug. Ilori latched on, tail-half curling around the Arafel's arm, and burrying her face in her shoulder.
Arafel smiled, carefully shifting herself so she could stand without the use of her arms. Futoeki was still tryign to pull himself from the stroller, pouting at his defeat so that he looked near-crying. The were-elf moved to the front of the double-stroller, pushing it back inside the house.

"You guys ready to meet your new sister?" Arafel smiled to teh twins, receiving curious smiles. "Ilori?" The snake-child removed herself from Arafel's shoulder, peering back at the twins. She stared for a moment, blinking as Futoeki flailed his arm in a attempted wave. She smiled, tryign to copy the action.

With that Arafel moved foreward to perform the delecate art of undoing twins from their stroller while holding another child so that the three could get aquanted.

I'm sure i've had wierder things happen to me in the past... Liek tryign to dig a den. Maybe that was worse but... either way... This was odd.
at first I was worried about Ilori, freize's eden had been bouncing by this time... and there was nothing from Ilori.
So.. i decided to head up to the eden headquarters. On my way out the door I finally got a responce from her. She turned brown... Which meant death, right? And then white.
Then there was smoke and hissing and... Well it was all kind of jumbled. But When the smoke vanished (And I mean vanished...) there was a toddler settled in my lap...

She's an absoulte sweetheart really. Well behaived but not too shy or held back. Which I'm glad for.. the house is full enough without having another roudy boy.

Ilori and Eva

Arafel
Arafel held the child in one arm, skillfully making out around 10 different sandwitches, along with some other foods for those who didnt' want sandwitches... It had become routine now, feeding the kids and just what meals they liked. It was all just second nature now...
However, there was a new family member. With new tastebuds. Arafel looked to the girl, who was currently puzzling over the odds and ends scattered about the kitchen counter of various colors, sizes, smells.. you name it. Arafel started moving each finished meal to the table, ready for the children to pop out of the woodwork and attack their lunch then head back to their play... or meloncholy angst, as some preferred.
"So... What do you want?" She questioned the naga in her arms.

Ilroi blinked, not quite fully understanding the question just yet. "To eat." Arafel added in, hoping it would clear the puzzled look.
It didn't.
Arafel gave a curious look to the various meats, breads and condiments. Curious as to how she'd figure out the new child's tastes with so many things to chose from...
Okay. Go about this the logical way, she was a snake.. snakes were carnivores... So she'd want more meat... Atleast that ridded the idea of veggie burgers. That only left... about 50 kinds of poultry, ham, beef, fish, and those miscilanious things like hotdogs and bologna...

Freize
In the midst of Arafel's puzzling, two wide blue eyes poked up from the other side of the counter, ears raised and wriggling about. The joey had been sitting at his post by the window, watching for the return of Freize as he usually was about this time. His stomach had recently gurgled out and informed him it was lunchtime, and thus he had patted his belly and scampered off towards the kitchen. The lanky lad lifted himself up using the counter, holding himself up by his elbows, his tail swaying halfheartedly behind him. One of his arms crept forward to snatch a lettuce leaf that had been forgotten in the making of sandwiches, and promptly crammed it into his mouth before offering a smile up to Arafel.

Sure, Eva could talk now, yet as of late he seemed to prefer to stay quiet for the most part and only talk when it was needed. Actually, he could be quite the chatter box at times.. But ever since his father's disapearance, he had grown almost deathly silent. He wrinkled his nose and peered curiously at the bundle in Arafel's arms. "Mmn?" He hauled himself all the way up onto the counter and wriggled his way around the food plates, settling on his rump beside the were-elf and tilting his head.

He leaned in closer to the little thing before speaking to it in his naturally quiet voice, "Hiii.." He lifted a hand and wriggled his fingers in a wave.

Arafel
Arafel peered to her side at the tiny crunch noise emited from the fresh veggitable. She had heard the feet tapping against the floor as the little one entered, but had hardly paid it mind.
She turned to the boy, perking imediatly. In all the hustle and bustle of the new child she'd forgotten to really introduce her to anyone... And Eva was top on the list, expecially since they were from the same place technically...

Ilroi peered back at the boy, looking curious for a moment before a smile overtook her face. "Teee.." she giggled, reaching a hand out at the boy to mimic his actions. Failing at teh finger waving, but atleast her hand was out there! Her tail wiggled some, shifting to coil around Arafels arm.

Arafel smiled to them both, "Eva!" she exclaimed. Making sure she sounded as excited to see him as she felt. Always good for self esteem atleast... And the boy did seem to need something to cheer him up. "This is Ilori... She's an eden, like you. Remember the leaf? And... Well, you're her older brother!" Not like everyone wasn't allready family... But, considering the simmaler background of the two they were probably one of the cloest relations of the adopted. They both came from leaves, right? That had to be something...

Ilroi looked up at Arafel puzzled, curious about the word older brother. And Eva. And.. well, where that promise of food had gone to...

Ilori and Shouko

Arafel
Arafel smiled, bent over her snake-toddler. Hands held out awkwardly infront of her for Ilori to hold onto. The toddler was frowning in concentration as she carefully shifted her lower body. Left... right...left... "Nn!" she wobbled, grip tightning on the woman's hands.

Arafel smiled a bit, quickly scouping up the child. Causing her to give a suprised squeak, and an automatic curl of suprise. She quickly uncurled, latching and wrapping onto Arafel as soon as she realized who had removed her from her place on the ground. "How bout we just go play on the swings, hm?" Arafel smiled, receiving a tiny nod from the girl. "Allright then. To the swings!" She poited to the dangling black objects, turning to head to them.

Artificial Anonymity
Dangling her feet gaily, the young girl closed her eyes and smiled serenely.
Who knew sitting on a swing could be so relaxing? True, she wasn't actually swinging, but rather just sitting there, but the concept was the same. Technically.
Opening her eyes and fingering the flute in her obi, Shouko contemplated practicing a bit. She'd gotten quite a bit better recently, but still nothing amazing - it was rather frustrating, in the pink-haired girl's opinion. With all the practice she'd been doing, she ought to have been playing solo in the great halls!
Glaring a bit at her flute, the girl silently continued to swing her feet over the ground.

Arafel
Arafel stopped, looking between the toddler and the child swings. For one, Ilori should be in the toddler ones... She probably couldn't hold herself on the childsize swings yet. However, it was made for two legs, not one long snake tail...

Ilroi looked at the odd contraptions. This was her first time to a park, and she had no idea what swings were... Or which of these things were the swings themselves. Afterall, they looked too different to be the same thing.

Arafel perked up, an idea hitting her. She moved to the open child's swing, plopping herself down into it. She then moved Ilori to her lap, wrapping one arm around her to suffice as some sort of buckle. "ready... Set..." Arafel pushed herself back with her feet, "Go!" With that word she jerked up her legs, letting gravity do the rest.

Ilori's eyes widened as they fell, and then went backwards. After a moment of suprise she gave a grin, clapping her hands.

Artificial Anonymity
Snapping out of her thoughts when the newly arrived people next to her began to swing, the girl snuck a glance at the woman and the child, which granted seemed to have half the body of a large snake.
Smiling as the toddler grinned, Shouko's spirits lifted considerably.
Curiosity, meanwhile, was trying to kill her. Or something of the like, anyway, for the pink-haired girl felt rather curious about the child. It wasn't often, even in Gaia, that you saw someone so special. Unless of course you were an Eden, like Shouko.
And curiosity had to be satisfied, didn't it?
"Umm.." a nervous little giggle broke free from the young girl, "hello? I'm sorrybutIcouldn'thelpbutnoticehowprettyyourchildis." Blushing to the roots of her hair, the Eden-girl was quickly regretting her rash decision. She really was curious, but what if the pair took offense?

Arafel
Arafel blinked, suprised she hadn't really noticed the child sooner. Ofcourse the sight of children in a park where almost like looking at scenery... They were just expected.
The woman supressed a laugh as the child spoke, smiling warmly. She was a sucker for kids. Expecially cute ones like that.
She slowed her swingnig, "Thankyou. Her names Ilori. And you are?" she smiled more, whispering to Ilori to say hi.

Ilori blinked, smiling a bit. She knew what pretty was! She was pretty? yay! The toddler giggled, giving a wave. She awkwardly peered up at Arafel, pointing to the pink haired girl. "ssee too!"
Arafel smiled toard Ilori "Yes, she is pretty too." she gave a tiny ruffle to the girl's white hair, receiving another giggle.

Artificial Anonymity
Oh, goody - the woman was smiling. That was, in Shouko's somewhat limited experience, a good sign.
Smiling happily in return, the young girl absentmindedly began to braid a small lock of pink hair.
"Ilo..ri?" trying the name out, the pink-haired Eden decided that it was, indeed, a fitting name, "I'm Shouko,"
Waving back at the toddler, Shouko grinned slightly - there was just something so infinitely beautiful about the toddler. Normally a toddler was cute, but that just didn't seem to cut it for Ilori, or at least in the other girl's opinion.
Blushing lightly as she too was deemed pretty, Shouko looked down at her dangling feet in flustered silence.
"Thank you," her voice was muffled, but nevertheless seemed to radiate a certain happiness.

Arafel
"It's nice to meet you, Shouko." Arafel smiled to the pink-haired eden, though completely oblivious to the fact she was... Her features weren't quite as obvious as Ilori's were. However there was a notice for the part-werewolf of a distinct smell of the child. A nice one, but she hardly paid any heed to it... Shampoos often smelled like that too.

Ilori watched the girl, giving a tiny giggle as she flustered. She peered crosseyed at her own hair falling infront of her face, reaching up to try and mimic the act the other girl had been doing. Curious to figure out what the point of it was... However her atetmpt at braiding only got as far as pulling the strand of hair into seperate peices, only to create a veil over her face. A tickly one at that.
The girl frowned at it, immediatly trying to shove the hair away as it tickled her face and made it itch. She looked at the other girl once more... Her own hair didn't even seem to come close to what she had done... A mystery.

Arafel blinked, looking back to the toddler in her lap as she started furiously rubbing at her face. She smiled, gently brushing a few strands away as well. "Shouko, would you like me to push you on the swing?" She smiled a bit, in her experience kids rather liked that. And she knew her first experience on a swing had been rather awkward... The things were hard to get going! Expecially when you were just learning.
Ofcourse she had been an adult when she first met this contraption... But it was still hard.

Artificial Anonymity
"Nice t'meet you too," mumbled, but nevertheless able to be heard.
Biting her lip to keep in her chuckles as the younger girl tried to braid her hair as well, or at least seeming to be doing something in that general direction.
Blinking as the woman offered to push her on the swing, Shouko contemplated the offer for a few moments.
"I'd.. like that," when had she become so shy? The girl couldn't remember, but for some reason her personality had become a mystery to even herself.
Having dangled her feet quite a bit and not getting anywhere, the child decided that she might be getting somewhere if the adult helped her.
"I've been on a swing before you know, I'm just not very good at it," she felt the need to defend herself.

Arafel
Arafel smiled, moving to her feet. She set Ilori down on the swing she'd been on, making sure the toddler had her balance before she moved behind Shouko. She took hold of the chains, pulling the girl back a few feet then letting go, giving her a tiny boost as gravity returned her. Arafel would start out slow, and go higher until the girl seemed to be content with a certian height. "I'm sure you're fine. I didn't even learn how to swing until I was..." she paused, her real age had allways been a mystery. She hadn't ever kept track, though they knew she wa sover 100... And telling the child she hadn't learned to swing until she was 100 didn't exactly sound good. "Well. Until i was an adult." She nodded, pleased with her finished sentance.

Ilori blinked as she was left to the seat, immediatly she grabed hold of the chain, her snake half coiling around the swing. With a firm grip on things, she let herself relax and watch the interesting action of swinging beside her.

Artificial Anonymity
Giggling madly as the wind ran through her hair and the swing rose, the young, pink-haired girl relaxed and closed her eyes.
This was how she imagined it would be to fly, anyway.
Cracking open an eye as the woman stopped mid-sentence, Shouko craned her neck so she could watch the older person.
Turning back as the person in question had said she hadn't learned it before she was an adult, small wrinkles appeared on the girl's forehead.
"You didn't swing on swings when you was a kid?" curious indeed - Shouko had never met someone (or at least she didn't think she had) that hadn't swung when they were a child.

Arafel
Another push, Arafel smiled at her. "Nope. I didn't live near any parks." Nor towns for that matter... She vaugly wondered if swings had eve existed when she was younger. She'd have to ask her brother... he'd often wander into the human villages and get them in trouble... maybe he'd seen one when he was there?

She shurgged, giving another push as the girl came back. "I did climb trees alot, and swim. And I got to dig in the dirt all I wanted." She gave a laugh, most parents forbidded that act... hers would have too probably. "But no swings." Arafel couldn't help but smile at her odd childhood, though it might seem sad to someone else, to her it was just a different childhood.

Artificial Anonymity
Giggling as the air whooshed past her yet again, Shouko thought herself rather fortunate to have met this woman and her child. It wasn't everyday a nice stranger offered to push you on a swing, and did it as well as this one did.
"Where'd you live then?" the child was having a hard time imagined a place where there wasn't any parks; granted she hadn't been outside the city much, but it had been her general impression that parks were omnipresent.
Nodding at the woman's words, Shouko contemplated the idea of climbing trees. It had never much appealed to her, despite her mother's insistance that it ought to, and she really didn't see the point in it. You were where you were, weren't you?

Arafel
Arafel smiled, giving a slightly harder push... years of taking care of children had given her a good control over swing pushing... after all, what kid didn't like swings?

"Well. Me and my brother lived in the middle of the forest... We were allways moving, but it was allways in the forest or mountians.. anywhere far far away from other people." She nodded, wonder how that might come off... she certiantly wasn't a crazy mountain child. Or atleast not the crazy part...
"But now I live here, right next to all the parks and fun things. And I take my kids to them."

Ilroi watched in awe as the girl slowly went higher and higher. Basically ignoring the conversation between the two... Afterall, what toddler cared about the living habits of her mother?

Artificial Anonymity
Letting out a squeal as she swung even higher, the girl clung to the rope of the swing.
Enjoying the swinging, Shouko waited until the swing slowed down a bit before answering the woman.
"Why not live in a city? It's nice with people around," voice inquisitive, the Eden child tried to focus on keeping herself on the swing.
"Does Ilori like swings?" a good question, the pink-haired girl decided, as she glanced at the toddler in question. She certainly seemed interested enough.

Arafel
Arafel smiled, giving a few pushes less of a strenght, allowing the girl to come down a moment before pushign harder again. Just to make sure she didn't get too high. Wouldn't look good to go flinging small children off of swings.

"Well, when i was younger people weren't as nice as they are now." She said cheerily, looking to Ilori as she gave another push. "I guess she does, this is her first time on one." She gave the toddler a smile, looking away once more so she wouldn't get a facefull of child-on-a-swing.

Artificial Anonymity
Automatically giggling as her tummy made that ticklish-feeling from moving through the air fastly, Shouko had a feeling that all this swinging would go to her head. Literally, too - her hair was rather whimsical and typically ended up being tangled beyond recognition.
Keeping in her giggles, the girl contemplated the woman's words for a few moments. People weren't as nice? To her, people had always been very nice.
Then again, old people always said things were different when they were young - Shouko had had the pleasure of quite a few lectures at her Grandmother's house.
But the woman didn't seem old, at all. She still seemed pretty young.
Well, Shouko reckoned, perhaps not young. She was a grown-up after all, and they were all old to some degree. She just seemed to be one of the less old.
Glancing back at Ilori, the pink-haired child pondered this new information.
"Does that mean that Ilori doesn't live close to any parks, too?"
That'd seemed a good question; after all, that WAS the reason the woman hadn't tried being on a swing before she was grown.

Arafel
Arafel smiled, shaking her head despite it's uselessness. "Actually, I live in a new home now, and we're very close to a park. I bring my other children down here all the time."

Ilori watched for a tad bit more, her young mind was quickly boring with the whole thing... She shifted in her swing seat, frowning at them. Not long after Arafel finished her last sentance she gave a tiny whine. She went to wave her arms, however when she nearly fell foreward when the chains were relased, she decided against it. "Aa Aaaa!" she bounded a bit.

Arafel looked to her, initially trying to see if she'd hurt herself somehow... But there wasn't anything there. "Ilori, shh, it's rude to interupt." She turned her attention back to the older girl. There was very little warning between the time arafel looked back and when she was falling backwards away from a chld's rear in a swing. She managed to avoid the near colision, excaping with only the tiny rush of adrenalin, trying to note to herself not to get distracted like that again.

Ilori fell quiet for a moment, pouting some at being scolded. But then the scene where good ol' mom nearly got smacked made the child let out a stifled giggle. Covering her mouth with one hand, other tightly grasping the chains to not fall.

Ilori and Karoko

Arafel
Arafel sighed, roaming through the isles of the hardware store. Ilori was settled on her hip, snake-half curling around Arafel's waist nearly making a living naga-belt. Ilori was at that age where she just didn't want to be left alone without her mom. And Arafel wasn't one to complain about this... Soo, the child had been pulled along for the trip. All of her other children were old enough to stay at home... Most atleast, and they had the older people around to watch them. The only ones she worried about were the twins, but they were having fun with their sister, and she wouldn't have been gone long...
Atleast thats what she told herself when she left. The woman eyed over the gizmos and gadjets of the plumbing isle... Something was wrong with the piping. Rust and leaking.. It was a real nastey mess. But why call a plumber? She had been sure it was an easy task to go down and get a new bit of pipe to replace the old one.

She looked to Ilori, finding the bright red eyes staring back at her. "So Ilori... Which one of these do you think is for our torlett?"
Ilori blinked, looking to the various sizes of piping. Then back to Arafel, not having a clue what she was talking about... Or why they were here in this boring place.

Noyama
Ow.

She was going to really hurt her back one day pushing these heavy carts around all the time. At least, that's what Noharu had told her...

Karoko rolled her eyes. She worries too much, the bat Eden thought sourly. I guess I should be happy since I'm the only one she worries about at all...

Epesically considered she had siblings now. One's Noharu didn't seem to care about. At all. It frustrated Karoko to no end, but what could she do about it? Nothing.

With a heavy sigh she reached up to one of the large wrenches and dumped it in the cart. With all the pipes and tools and things, one would have to guess it was at least a few hundred pounds.

And a few hundred dollars.

"Maybe I should get job..." At the end of the last word, she realized that wouldn't be possible at age 12. For a little while, she'd have to learn to accept 'mooching' off her mom. Ugh.

The next isle contained mostly of pipes. She needed a few like this to fix some things in the bathroom. With three families living in the house now, things never failed to break daily.

She reached up and pulled one down, struggling to read what brand, size and price the label above where they were shelved said.

Her eyes were getting worse...

Arafel
After several good moments of trying to decifer the numbering system on these things she sighed. "...Looks like we're calling the plumber, Ilori." She gave a small laugh of defeat, turning away from the pipes.
"Sssumma?" Ilori repeated, that didn't sound like a good person... In the toddlers mind it sounded like an evil villian from a cheesy cartoon.

Arafels attention was drawn to a child, pushing what looked to be a good deal of weight. Or more than looked... She moved towards her, shifting Ilori on her hip only to get awkwardly constricted. Why was a child getting all this...?
School project? Yea that would work for now...
Being ever mindful of children Arafel spoke up with a smile, "You need any help moving all this..?"

Noyama
Jeesh, I should think about getting glasses, Karoko thought. But they'd really get in the way...

She registered what Arafel had said right away. Because Karoko, even when focusing intently on something, had a way of keeping track on everything going on around her. However, it was a few seconds extra before it hit her she was the one being spoken to.

"O-oh!" The child stumbled back toward the cart and blushed nervously, waving her hands--one of which still tightly held the metal pipe--around. "Oh, n-no! I'm alright, thank you!"

As her arms lowered to her sides, she caught sight of something yellow. The color hurt her eyes. Eyes which she narrowed to try and see whatever it was better.

A toddler? Like a snake?

Oh, no! She was staring! And now she was blushing again. "O-oh, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to stare. It's just, uh... "

Arafel
Arafel smiled and nodded. "Allright... Well if you need any help just ask." She almost left it at that, then the toddler spoke up. She had hardly noticed her staring, afterall it was a pretty common thing to happen to herself and family members.
"Hm?" She blinked, it was then she noticed the child's features. So there were quite a few kids around Gaia with animal features now adays... But she ofcourse thought of the eden first. Seemed they were predominant around the area.

Ilori shifted, poiting at karoko and grinning. "Baa."

"Eh?" Arafel blinked.. oh bat. right. "I guess so..." She smiled, carefully moving the toddler's hand to keep her from pointing oh so rudely. "Well... I'm Arafel, and this is Ilori... She's an albino python or so I'm told." she smiled, hoping a more casual mannor might help the bat-child feel more at ease.

Noyama
"I see," the child responded thoughtfully. Her ears flicked and she seemed to relax. "I've never seen a snake at all before," the Eden explained, realizing how odd that sounded. It was true, though!

There was a lot she hadn't seen. Mostly because she stayed in the garage building or fix things. The sun irratated her skin, anyway.

"I'm Karoko. Uh, Livingstone Fruit Bat," she added as an after thought.

Getting the "hang" of things...

Ilori shifted, arms flailing as she tried to keep her balance. She could stand pretty well, balancing her top half to stay upright with little support from her lower snake-half. She could feel the muscles in her abdomen tighten to hold the weight of her upper body. Still... this act had become second nature. The hard part was moving...

Hands fisted in the air, her face scrunched in determination, she shifted her lower body to the right. She gave a startled look as her balance was thrown off by the simple movement, wobbling for a moment before she lanaged to lean towards the side to gain a bit more balance. The next step was pushing foreward... Sloowly she tried to straighten out her tail... And before she knew it, she was sliding foreward. "Loo!" She grinned up towards Arafel, who was naturally watchign the whole thing. Arafel responded positivly, giving praise and whatnot as a mother should.
The victory dind't last long though... as she went foreward her balance was lost, and she found herself falling face first towards the carpet.

Arafel blinked, giving a tiny noise and hurrying over to the toddler "Ilor, are you allright?"

Ilori pulled her face from the carpet. Giving a frown, not because she'd been hurt... but moreso in frustration of the whole ordeal. Why couldn't she just move?! The other kids could...

Arafel shook her head, carefully scouping up the young girl. As if knowing the child was frustrated she carefully cradled her "Don't worry... You'll get it sooner than you think." It wasn't hard to imagine a child being upset after so many tries... Arafel was the child expert in a sense, she had seen several grow up. Even if they were her own. She also knew how frustrating it could be to be unable to do something everyone else could... She knew that all too well.
Smiling, she steped towards the kitchen. "How bout a sandwitch?" she set the pouting child on the counter, just far enough so her tail could dangle off the edge.

Ilori welcomed the cradle, curling up into it. Her young mind only thought of why couldn't some magical force just poof her the ability to slither? Why was it so much work... She perked at the mention of a sandwitch, the tip of her tail wiggling as it dangled from the counter. She shifted some, pointing to the fridge. "Bloogee plee!" she smiled widely.

Arafel nodded, turning to the fridge.. "One balogna sandwitch, coming up!" She dug down into the dwarer, fetching the requested meat-or what everyone assumed was meat- and moved on to fetch a plate and bread.

The rest happend in the blink of an eye. The toddler leaned too far foreward, the bread dropped form Arafel's ahnds as she instinctivly dove to catch her.
However what came after the blink wasn't expected. Instead of an armful of toddler she found air... And just above her arms hung the snake-child. Her tail was tightly coiled around the kitchen dware's handle.

Arafel blinked, watching the child twist, then pull herself right back up. She could feel her jaw hit the floor... or atleast she thought she had. So maybe the little girl couldn't walk yet, but she sure as hell could climb! "Ilori!" She exclaimed. Causing the child to give a startled squeak, looking in fear towards her parent as though she was in trouble. "Th..That was amazing!" Arafel smiled reassuringly. Ilori blinked, looking down... had it really been amazing? Well.. if Arafel said it was! The little girl grinned a mile wide, reaching her arms up in the air to be picked up and praised for the behaivior more. Arafel gladdly responded, scouping the child up and cuddling her. With one arm full of child she went back to the discarded sandwhich making. "So how about that sandwitch?" "Yaa!" the child smiled brighter, bouncing a bit.
