For once in his life, Loic was unsure. If he picked a fight with this warlock, could he win? Especially without help? Was he even a warlock?
He had to be. Otherwise, Loic would have been able to walk out a few minutes ago before he got cornered. In any case, provocation was the best way to go. But with tact, Loic thought. It couldn't be too obvious. But god, just looking at the older man made him annoyed right now.
"I wasn't doing anything. In case you haven't noticed, I've got French wine all over my shirt," Loic snapped, drying off his shirt best he could.
"I was joking." The brunette ran a hand through his mussed up hairdo. "If I hadn't come, she would have eatten you alive." The man was not sure how much he was exaggerating with this statement. If she was the witch who summoned him here, well - he should be following her now. And he would - but he would wait until she left the restuarant. They would be closing soon.
"Hardly. I can fend for myself." Loic snorted, throwing the towels away. He studied the stain and pinched the bridge of his nose. How was he supposed to face Mel now? Surely she'd laugh...
The man laughed as if on cue, and Loic realized that even when amused, he sounded a bit saddened. Maybe disheartened was a better word.
"I thought you had business to do," Loic grumbled.
"I just said that I needed to go to bathroom so Tentacles would leave." The man shifted his dark eyes to Loics wet shirt, and Loic became uncomfortable again.
"It's interesting, because while some of us are too outgoing, others are too quiet. It's almost MAGICAL how you are a perfect wallflower," Loic purposely stressed the magical part, only focusing on the man when he finished talking.
Said person's amused smile faded a bit.
"I suppose other yet have incredible talent in soiling themselves," He responded, covering up his reaction.
Got you, Loic thought.
"Perhaps maybe you could use that magic ability of yours and leave me alone?" He continued.
The man raised a hand to his neck and then hid the motion by adjusting his scarf, and Loic thought there was something awkward about the motion - it was as if the man was very careful when moving it, so as to not reveal the skin below it.
"You're in the DWMA, right? Do me a favor, please tell Shinigami that I've found the Water In The Changing Hill, exactly like that."
Loic narrowed his eyes. He was definately the person guilty of Soul Lockpick, and he had probably used Perception too.
"Changing topics doesn't help." He declared. "Why were you prodding at my soul?"
The man looked stunned, his hazel eyes wide.
"I did no such thing. Perception is not a power to abuse-"
"You know I'm not talking about that," Loic all but snarled.
Understanding seemed to cross the man's face; the waitress - who was probably a witch - had probably searched the boys soul. "Soul Lockpicking is illegal." he countered, and wanted to continue to talk but Loic intervened quickly.
"All armies do it, but you're obviously not in it. I dont know who the hell you are, but you dont seem completely human to me. What do you want from me?"
The older man seemed to become a bit angered and he took his hands out of his coat pockets. "I've no such power, and how dare you accuse me of breaking the law! And as for being human - I'm NOT a Kishin."
The lanky man seemed fiercer and indignated; he didn't look quite so helpless anymore.
"Lets hope you aren't, lest my message to Shinigami changes a bit, so to say. Breaking the law will be the least of your worries," Loic sneered and began to leave. The man laid his hand on the door and swiftly slid over, barring Loic from passing through the door. The man's face didn't look hostile, but the noble knew better. This was a clear threat.
"You can't just leave after saying something like that." Warm hazel locked with icy blue, and Loic jut out his chin. Dully, the man thought his determined face looked rather cute.
"Watch me," Loic growled.
Then the ingenious idea of grabbing the guy's shoulder and shoving him tithe side came to Loic.
All of a sudden, Loic was staring at the ceiling lights with a pounding pain on his head, the cool tile chilling his back.
What the ******** just happened?
The other man was now pressed against the door, breathing ragged, his fist wrinkling the overcoat over his heart. Why had he done that? The brunette thought miserably. Sure, his neck was forbidden territory, but now -
Now Loic was getting up from the floor, with an expression of pure and hardened rage on his face. He took a step foward, reeled his fist back and -
-------/
The waitress smirked after glaring at the German noble's friend, partner, girlfriend, whatever and walked to the kitchen. Once inside, she lingered behind a counter and pretended to look at her nails while she focused on watching Loic and her newest convert through the eyes of her mind.
All was going well. The boy suspected the powerful meister as being a warlock, and for all intensive purposes, he was. But Loic didn't have to know the man's story, and the man was too broken to recall it.
Smiling, she took off her bracelet and muttered some words, the bracelet turning a dark black. She went back outside and cleaned up some more plates. As she cleaned up her newest convert's drink, made sure to drop a spoon onto the chair and as she picked it up, replaced it with the bracelet. It didn't matter who picked it up, she would make sure that it would reach the brunette. That tall and innocent faced man was the key to her plans. That why she let the man live.
--------/
The male brunette quickly opened the door, grabbed the German boy by the collar and unceremoniously threw him out of the bathroom. No sooner had Loic braced himself against the opposing wall of the corridor with his arms had the tall man slammed the door shut. Loic instantly turned around and, enraged, smashed the door with Soul Drive. The noise resounded harshly and Loic was certain he heard a crack.
When the smoke dispersed, he was dismayed to find that though the whole corridor was in shambles, the door in perfect conditions. Not even a stray mark. Loic tried kicking the door open. Nothing. He now took a few dignified steps back and hurled his body against it, giving a sharp cry.
The door now broke off its hinges.
Stumbling a few steps, Loic checked around. The man was gone. Not a soul in sight, both figuratively and literally.
To top it all off, Loic's shirt was now filled with dust and god knows what else from the floor. And everyone probably heard the commotion.
Speak of the devil, onlookers we're beginning to crowd the corrider, everyone wondering what happened. Someone would have to pay the expenses too.
God damn.
Well, at least his rep here in America would be different!

After Ami left Mel took a few more bites of her soup. It was so warm, it was a good choice. As she sat there her mind began to wonder. She thought about home and here brothers. Did they even noticed she was gone yet? Her father popped up into her mind, The General is gonna kill me! At that point she seemed to lose her appetite, so instead she sat there and played with her soup. Her spoon went around and around in her bowl like an endless merry go round. She sighed and rested her chin in her hand. Sitting there her eyelids started to get heavy, and she could feel the full weight of her exhaustion pulling her down. Melanie closed her eyes and laughed a little to herself If they could see me now she thought. For not only were her elbows on the table, but she was actually playing with her food! Mel opened her eyes back up and noticed a lot of the costumers were starting to crowd around the back. The same place Loic, that waitress, and the mysterious man went. There was quite a bit of commotion coming from back there. She stood up and followed the crowd to see what was happening, but she couldn't really see over the people in front of her. She stood up on her toes, but nonetheless she still wasn't tall enough. She dropped back down and let out an aggravated sigh, Of all the days to be short! She thought.

Loic wished he hadn;t knocked that door down. He would have been able to slam it into everyone's faces and lock himself inside until the plebians left. Then he couldve peacefully spoken with the manager and fixed everything.
Argh.
"Do not panic, everything is fine. There's nothing to worry about, please relax." Loic began, raising his hands to emphasie the lie. It was alright, he was used to dealing with people. Mob psychology.
"There was an accident, that's all. Someone call the manager or owner, we need to chat about expenses..." He rubbed the back of his neck and sighed, irritated about the turn of events. The albinowaitress popped out of nowhere again, and she ended up bringing the manager over and telling the people to please return to their seats. She gave him a flirty wink and Loic pretended not to see. He settled things about money with a surprisingly "chill" manager and ended up returning to his seat, stilling rubbing the sore spot on his head.
His eyes found the man's vacant seat and he felt a twinge of anger. He was made a fool of, seeing as the older man had escaped right under his nose.
"Damn." He cursed. He slid on his dark jacket in a sorry attempt to become presentable again and looked around the place. Where was Mel?
-----------/
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The man let out a long breath as the commotion died down, his brown strands flapping around his tired yet alert eyes. He watched from his perch on the ceiling the entire time. This new and uncanny ability of his to stick to pretty much any surface was helpful. Combined with his already formidable ability to hide in the shadows and his Soul Concealer, it had become near impossible to find the man when he hid.
GOD, that was close.
When he was certain the coast was clear, the man flipped from the ceiling and landed in a crouched position on the floor, amking absolutely no noise as his overcoat hid most of his body. The lanky men instantly slid over to press himself aganist the wall, moving silently. He reached the window and, latching on to the sill, flipped outside and landed on the wall, his boots magically planted on it. The man ran up silently up the wall to the roof and crawled up until he was behind a water supply of the building. He stayed there and opened his senses, waiting until everyone left in order to confront the witch waitress.

All the commotion started to die down and people started to return to their seats. Mel saw that waitress bring over the manager over to see the problem that she was too short to see.
Mel look for Loic in the crowd and couldn't seem to find him. People passed her, pushing her outta the way going to their table. When she finally found Loic he was already back at their table. She looked to see if the mysterious man was back at his table, but he wasn't. She wondered if he had confronted Loic for staring him down.
She walked over to him "Hey are you alright? Whats going on over there?" she asked with a concerned look on her face. She hoped nothing bad had happened, that man was gone and not to mention that weird waitress that dragged him away. Their was something about her that gave her a weird feeling in her stomach.

Loic discreetly curled the jacket around himself more than it already was in an attempt to hide his shirt more from Mel.
"I'm fine. Everything's peachy," Loic muttered. Seeing that he may come off as sarcastic, he cleared his expression of any annoyance and settled for rubbing his temples.
"That waitress was beyond disturbing. You wouldn't believe what she wanted to do in the bathroom. She was going to unbutton my shirt!" Loic realized he was coming off as prudish - after all, she WAS trying to clean him up. And it wasn't like she was openly doing stuff, but he had a weird gut feeling and he had always been told from everyone to trust his instinct, but still -
GAH. His head was beginning to pound with such overanalyzation.
"She was trying to clean up I suppose. And then that - that - person THING came in." He waved his hand foward, the stress marking his face at his inability to articulate his words.
"He was - queer in a sense." He didn't want to worry Mel more than he had to about that potential warlock.
"He managed to get that crazy French woman off me, but at the same time, I knew that wasn;t the only reason he came in. Dont get me wrong, it was nothing predatory, but - "
Or was it? There had been a moment in time that Loic felt uncomfortable - well, though he was already uncomfortable because he was probably a witch, but the OTHER type of uncomfortable, the type when you know someone's thinking about you in a bad way - so maybe yes, the guy was queer in the OTHER sense of the word, not just strange, but perhaps even g-
THERE HE WAS OVERTHINKING IT AGAIN.
GODDAMN s**t.
He sighed.
"He gave me a bad vibe, in all sense. If you see that man again, stay as far away as you can. He seems....dangerous to me."
It seemed unexplainable - the man looked and acted normal, and even his soul was normal. And yet - something wasn't right. The tired eyes, the thin frame yet paired with such strength, the sudden outburst, the unscathed door- "His eyes." Loic didn't realize he said this outloud until a few moments afterwards and woke up from his dreamlike state. "I mean, they looked - weird. Dangerous..."
He'd gotten a good look at them when they were locked in a mortal staring contest. They were warm but at the same time sinister.
GOD, the last statement sounded almost gay...
"I can't really explain it, I'm sorry." Loic mumbled anticlimatically, twisting his ring again.
He was feeling nervous awfully often today, wasn't he? It didnt sit well in Loic's stomach - he rarely felt this way, and now all of a sudden, he was becoming a nervous wreak.
Where was his cool and collected self, the cold and calculating Loic Garnier, known to everyone in Europe as the Solid Venom?
Loic lamented wistfully.

Mel watched as he put on his jacket, covering up the stain on his shirt, and listened to him as he tried to explain what had happened. She had already known that waitress was nothing but some annoying sleazy girl, but really? Accidentally spilling his drink on him? Could she be more obvious? Melanie really did hate girls like that. Then Loic said something about that man that had followed them to the restroom. That peaked her interest. Who was that man? After Loic had stared him down at the table, the mysterious man ended up following him. Something was wrong. Loic said that the man helped him, but for some reason he said he was dangerous? He didnt really seem that way to her. I mean yeah there was something weird about him, but for some reason it - it didnt feel bad. Who was she to say though, maybe Loic saw something different that she didnt? Whatever it was it really got him agitated and fidgety. She could tell a noble like him didnt like to show emotion like that, who was she kidding ever noble was like that, even her family. "Alright, I'll try to keep a look out for him, but maybe we should get going? I mean if we do any more damage they might not let as come back." she smiled at him, hoping to put him in a better mood.

"Yes, that sounds reasonable," Loic mumbled distractedly, dully thinking that he should have mentioned that earlier. He did manage to register her soft smile, and he did his best to smile back.
"I suppose we should..." He got up swiftly and pulled his gloves on, which had been lying dormant in his coat pockets. He was going to reach for his ring again, but it was difficult to twist because the gloves were covering it. Hesitating, he finally settled for leaving his hands alone.
"Let's go back home," Loic felt relieved that they wwere finally leaving this place, and the words sounded nice, actually.

Mel could see he was distracted by whatever happened, but she choose not to say anything. She thought she would just let it be, but there was still a small piece of her that really wanted to know what happened back there. "Alright, lets go." she said as soon as he was ready. She was defiantly ready to get back, she was way to tired to deal with much more of anything else. As they left she turned back to the corner where the man was, it was still empty of course, but she thought it wouldnt hurt to look. She also noticed that the waitress wasnt around either, must be in the back actually doing work.

Loic nodded and took her hand, helping her up and out of that French restaurant.
He wanted to settle down at the dorm as quickly as possible.
------/ The waitress giggled softly and walked outside of the kitchen, telling everyone that due to the damage, they were going to close early. People groaned, but they left.
She cleaned up and waited for the man to come. Her newest convert.
------/ The man watched warily from his post on the roof and saw that many People were exiting. He saw the dark haired Garnier lead his friend, partner, girlfriend, someone away by the hand. He saw his chance after they left and swooped back into the bathroom and into the saloon.
"Ms."
The waitress turned around.
"Ah, Monsieur, we're closing down for now, please l-"
"No. I'm not fooled."
She raised a brow and her eyes seemed to look sharper.
"Excuse moi?"
"what you heard. Let's take a little walk, shall we?"
"No sank you, I'm not interested in you, monseiur."
"I insist."
The albino suddenly reached for his neck and clamped her hand on it - hard.
He gave a cry and tried to wrench her hand away to no avail. It hurt it hurt it hurt it hurt -!
He felt magic being emitted from his seal and his soul was released from the seal the Shinigami had placed on it.
"NO!"
He gave an animalistic shout and shoved her far away from him. He couldn't do much else though....
She laughed.
"Now now, is that anyway to treat your Mistress. You owe me so much!"
She giggled and seemed to melt in the shadows of a nearby wall.
He screamed in fury and smashe dthe wall down - but she was gone. And now he felt the moon add to his fury and he felt himslf grow Berserk.
He growled again and melted into the shadows, hoping to find cover in th confine of his room.
----
The shout resounded across Death City.....
