εїз I Ran My Mouth Off A Bit Too Much,
Scanning the new music placed in him, he looked up to find introductions being flung around. He paid special attention to the girl's introduction, wondering if that was how people were supposed to introduce themselves. Glancing from the teacher to the student, and back again, a new smile broke onto his features. "I am Icarus Zephyr Windstorm. Of the Sylphid Capital, Urbem Ventum." he had decided to try the girl's style of introduction, though now unsure of which one was proper. As the two were carried off in a conversation that had nothing to do with him, he turned back to the sheet music before him. It wasn't simple, of course, but he had had many, many years to master the instrument in his hands.
They were talking about snow now, and though he had never seen it with his own eyes, he didn't push it off as a myth as it often was in his homeland. The Sylphid Capital was surrounded by strong winds year round, making it difficult for non-Sylph to get close. The occasional wind elemental did turn up, but that was about it. Keeping his focus on the sheet music, his hand seemed to move instinctively through the air, his bow not actually touching the strings.

Running-Bear chuckled. "I promise you it's a sight to see. I like it in the suburbs the best or around the zoo." the man continued. "And if you work hard with your lesions then maybe you'll be asked to come over as scholarship student and study." The man added.

εїз I Ran My Mouth Off A Bit Too Much,
As the conversation carried on as if he hadn't spoken, Icarus believed it was his time to leave. He hadn't meant to stay long, and there were still many places he needed to visit around campus. Standing, he gently puts his instrument and bow back into their case before snapping and securing it closed. Picking up the sheet music, he returned it to the teacher with a polite smile. "I really must be going, but I do look forward to your class." giving a courteous nod to both his teacher and the other student, he makes a quiet exit to continue his journey about the campus.

"Nice to meet you," she replied to the other student's introduction with a smile. She turned back to the teacher to listen as he talked. "That sounds nice." She replied with a smile. She hadn't seen many really exotic creatures until she came to this unique school, and she loved the idea of going to the zoo. "I hope I do well enough in my lessons to get a scholarship somewhere." She said hopefully. It wasn't like she had very much money to get anywhere any other way. It was tough enough for her to get into Reed's. She frowned when the other student said he was going to leave. I hope he doesn't feel ignored. "I guess I'll see you around then, bye!"

Melody wandered in, looking around curiously. She'd never been in a band before, but she loved music and could play several instruments. Seeing a red guitar on a stand, she gently picked it up and strummed softly. Flame sang a few notes from her shoulder, then flew off to perch on a stand of sheet music nearby. The phoenix looked at the music and sang the tune quietly, while Melody followed along on the guitar. Eventually she added her voice, singing in her own tongue. "Lost in a new place, flying all alone, lost is the joy of soaring, The sky feels different, the air much more so, nothing is familiar, save me and myself.
Why must everything change? Why must it all go away? Here I stand, on my own, ready to fly away.... Yet here I must stay, trapped in this place, now till some day, when I shall once more fly, to see my home again."

A red haired man stepped out of a side storage room and clapped at the young woman and her beautiful son. He was tall and handsome with tanned skin. "That was wonderful." The man said as he moved closer to her. He knew his way around the band room. "Are you one of my new students. You should be with a voice like that." He told her moving a tuba to a new location. "If you keep up with that voice I'll have to tell my friends in the music industry about you." the man told her.

"Thanks." Melody said shyly, brushing her hair back out of her face and holding out her arm. Flame fluttered over and settled comfortably on her shoulder. "I'm not signed up for any classes yet. I've never been in a band before, either. I just play what's in my heart, mostly. I'm sorry for disturbing you, I didn't realize anyone was here. I just got here, I'm just exploring." she explained quickly, not wanting to get in trouble for intruding. "When are classes?" she finally asked after a pause, curiousity winning her over.

The man pushed his hair back and smiled at the young woman. This young women was new the school and she would need some help picking out classes. "If you were to refine that voice it would be nice." He told the young woman. He wanted to encourage her to join his vocal classes. "The band room is open for anyone and everyone, but let me warn you that we have professionals come in all the time so don't be surprise." He informed the young woman when it came to what is was like in his music room. "Welcome to Reed's Miss... I don't believe you told me your name, nor have I told you mine. I am John Running-Bear, I teach music classes here."

"Hullo, my name is Lorina Jinn" Though the new term hadn't officially started yet, Lorina was back on campus. Most of her summer had been spent at home, but now that she was back, she was insanely bored. With more and more students coming onto campus in preperation for the new year, she'd managed to meet a few, but the thrill in that was wearing off. Her next choice was to check in to the bandroom, something that would never be boring, even if this was the fifth time she'd chosen to stop by.
Walking through the door, she was surprised to hear talking. Usually, Mr. Running-bear was the only one inside whenever she came during a vacation. Once inside the room, she leaned against the wall, waiting for an appropiate time to speak. When the band teacher introduced himself, she figured that now was as good a time as any to make her prescense known. "And I'm Lorina, a fellow music student." She pushed off the wall, shooting her teacher a smile before giving a wave to the girl. After a moment of evaluation, she took a step toward the two, teasing John in the proccess. "I would totally be jealous of his compliments of your voice...but I love your hair." It was an honest statement, since Lorina herself had orange hair, though she'd chosen to put in red highlights a couple of months back.

Melody hesitantly smiled back. "Okay. Do I have to sign up anywhere?" she replied to the first part, nodding to the second, and then realized he'd asked her her name. "Oh, and I'm Melody Hayes, this is Flame." she said, indicating the phoenix still resting on her shoulder. He reached out towards the man and trilled, at first soft, then gradually getting louder. Melody watched him quietly, seemingly understanding what he was trying to tell her. Then she smiled, visibly relaxing. The phoenix slipped off her shoulder and flew around the music teacher once before settling on his shoulder.

John smiled as the bird climbed onto his shoulder. He was an ancient creature and he knew how to interact with all shorts of creatures. "You can go to a computer and sign in to your student account and sign up that way Miss Melody." He told her how it works around getting classes started. He then turned to the student who just came in. "Good to see you Lorina and too late about her voice. She has a lovely voice." He answered the other girl with a smile.

"Okay, thank you. What music classes would you recommend?" Melody asked, before turning and flashing Lorina a smile. "Hi, and thank you. I love your hair, I wish mine was more red." Flame hummed softly, going over to inspect the newcomer and fluttering around her excitedly. "Flame!" Melody scolded. She sighed. "Sorry, seems he really like you. He just wants to play." She shot the phoenix a look before turning back to the music teacher.

"Hullo, my name is Lorina Jinn" Raising her brow at John's reassurance to this girl'd voice, she felt a smirk tug at her lips, obviously looking forward to hear it when school began. Another good singer at school was a challenge she would readily accept. "Well, if he's right about your voice, then you should take choir." The compliment to her own hair caused her smile to return, and she realized from the teacher's words that the girl's name was Melody. A singer named Melody was an awsome thing to Lorina, and she was about to comment such when a bird cut her off. Looking at in surprise, she tried her best to study it as it apparently studied her. Still smiling, she reached out a hand to touch the creature, and was thrilled to find it simply warm. "Phoenix?" she questioned with a glance to its owner. Hearing its name, Flame, her smile brightened; Flame would be a perfect name for a phoenix. "I'm honored if he wants to play. It's a good thing I'm a fire imp, eh?" Letting the two talk, she held out one hand palm up to the bird, focusing enough energy to create a small ball of fire. Tossing it to the bird for his amusement, she kept enough attention on the item so that in case it strayed, she could extinguish it; She had a feeling that John wouldn't want any part of his room burned.

Melody Hayes "Choir?" Melody asked, tilting her head. "Okay! Thanks....Flame, behave." she warned. "Yeah, being a fire imp would be useful around this guy. You're right, he's a phoenix." She'd never seen him react this way to anyone before. "Normally he doesn't like strangers much, but he's really taken to you." She smiled, knowing that if Flame was relaxed enough to play, she was about as safe as it was ever possible to get. She turned back to the teacher again, still smiling. "Choir sounds like it's just for singing, is there a class for instruments as well? I play guitar, piano, and flute with some comfort. I would appreciate a chance to play new music." she said, already appearing a lot happier. Happy enough that the air around her shimmered with a barely visible ring of red, like a soft glow. A sense of peace filled the room.
