Once they were gone he sighed in relief, turning to look at Peri. Carefully, he moved so he was at level with her, tilting his head. Carefully, very carefully, as if she would run if he moved to quickly, he touched her paw. "Are you okay, Miss Peri?" He asked, scanning her. Was she okay? He didn't know if he had hurt her. He should ask!
"Did I harm you? I apologize if I did.... I just want to get you out of there.." He realized that maybe he was being to forward, removing his paw and watching her before looking around. Was there somewhere he could bathe her and his wounds? Did she have any?

Peri hissed through her teeth. "My back," was all she could manage. A light trickle of blood poured from scratches. Nothing serious, but it would certain sting a bit while it healing up.
Her blue-gray eyes were squeezed shut while she tried to gain better control of her body.

"I'm sorry." He went to grab a leaf, moving to dab up some blood. "If I had just pulled you slower.... I am sorry Miss Peri. If you let me, I can help you." He looked at her, wanting nothing more than to pick her up and take her to the lake nearby and tend to her. Yes, he hurt, but he felt as if he injury could have been avoided had he either saw the male or rescued her in a less violent fashion.
"Can I...pick you up?" He asked carefully, looking at her despite her closed eyes. She was in pain! "Miss, I promise I will only lift you and take you to the lake, and I will dress your wounds. That is all, I promise."

Peri shook her head, face set in stubborn determination. "I"m alright to walk," she said, trying to relax her facial muscles and unclench her jaw. She could feel a little more blood oozing from light punctures around her shoulder blades where the male had grabbed her. Those were probably deeper than the scratches since her fur had protected her back to some extent, but right now it was all various stinging points of pain.
She had to get herself under control now, she seemed to be worrying Edward. Peri took a deep breath, focusing on relaxing her muscles even more as she did so, and tried to force the worst of her pain to another corner of her mind so that it didn't show as much.

"Are you sure?" He asked. He wouldn't force her to do something she didn't want to do, no, he would respect her wishes. Though sometimes people said things when really they did want help. He would quickly take her to the lake if she said yes, even if he couldn't carry her. She needed her wounds addressed to. If she refused to be dressed though, what would he do? He couldn't..force her. No! Never!
Then, what would he do? He couldn't just let her get infected, but then again he just couldn't do anything if she refuses to be assisted by him. He only hoped she'd cooperate.

Peri managed a few steps forward, and though her legs wobbled slightly she was almost positive it had more to do with the adrenaline that had suddenly left her system than the actual wounds. Renewed pain flared in hot stabs from the points of injury, and Peri had to focus a good portion of her attention on not making a sound or letting her muscles reknot.
"T-Takashi would have picked me up despite any protests and carted me off the instant he saw blood," Peri said, forgetting in her attempt to distract herself that Edward probably didn't know who or even what Takashi was. "He always did stuff like that, the big worrywart."
She took a few more steps, really hoping Edward's walking skills would kick in and he would lead. She could probably find the lake on her own, but right now she'd really rather not have to think.

"I'm sorry, if you wanted me to pick you up despite protests, I won't. Maybe this Takashi person is better suited to care for you. I won't do anything that another person says they do not want me to do, it is only polite." With this, he gently nudged her, not even enough to make her wobble, and began to lead the way to the lake, turning his head frequently to see if she was following, and to see if she needed assitance.
"It Takashi your mate?" He asked. "While you rest after I dress you, should I go find him?" He was trying his best to help her, even if his stomach did knot up slightly at the term "mate". If he had to get him, he would not be needed, and therefor would need to depart.

Peri laughed shakily. "No Takashi is most certainly not my mate! He's my little brother, though I only say little in terms of age. He's a freakin' giant in size." Since the talk was helping to distract her, she went on to add, "Anyway, if he was in the area you wouldn't have to find him. Takashi's got a good sense of smell, he'd know I was around and possibly know I was hurt. He'd be here as quick as his feet could get him."
Peri shook her head a little. Her brother was so overprotective sometimes. Of course she loved him, but she was a bit too independant-minded for them to successfully travel together for large periods of time. She had to mind her tongue sometimes so that she didn't say things hurtful to a brother only trying to help.

They reached the lake shortly after, causing Edward to branch away from her, grab a few leaves, and sniff out herbs. Living alone he had to learn how to care for himself, so he was accustomed to finding herbs and such. When he returned, he set to work grinding the blue root he had found, rolling it in the leaf and nudging it to her.
"Eating this will be bitter, but help prevent infections." With this, he moved to get another leaf, beckoning her to the lake so he could clean her wounds, or she could herself.

Edward had peeled off the instant they reached the lake, leaving Peri standing there wondering if she should wait or go clean her wound herself. She'd almost decided to go clean her wound when Edward came back and offered her this weird-smelling paste. Peri made a face, but obligingly ate it. Ugh, nasty!
She trundled over to the waters, going up to about halfway up to her legs and crouching so the cool liquid could bath her battered back. She had to knock away a few curious fish, and took a drink to wash away the bitter taste. "You'll probably have to do most of the cleaning, if it requires more than this," Peri said, looking around to where Edward stood. "Can't reach it."

He began to move closer, looking at her. "Well, I will begin to wash your back and attach leaves to cover them. Tell me if I am doing something wrong." He said, carefully beginning to clean her back, using a leaf to get dirt out. He carefully dunked her back with his tail in water, carefully attaching the leaves to the bottom of the back.
He began to work his way up, careful to not harm her or even to intrude on any boundaries she may have. When he managed to secure her back, he tilted his head to view her. "Anywhere else, Miss?"

Peri shook her head. There were actually a few puncture wounds by her neck where the male had bit her, but they weren't very big and had already stopped bleeding. While Edward had been occupied with her back she'd subtly been cleaning them by dipping her head in the water under the pretense of getting a drink. Nothing to really be done for 'em anyway, she'd just have to hope they didn't get infected.
"But really, stop calling me Miss. I'm Peri," she said firmly, rising from the water and looking back at Edward as sternly as she could manage.

Edward blinked at her stern voice, staring at her for a brief few seconds before smiling, tail wagging as he nodded. "Peri." He confirmed, pleased to be given permission for her name. He wanted to nudge her, though he refrained from doing so. What was with him? He was breaking several codes he held for himself. Was he disrespecting Peri by desiring to reach out slightly more and attempt at something more tangible than the status they currently had, which was acquaints? Did he want friendship?
His mind wandered then, remembering that he himself only had two friends now that he thought about it, and they were becoming...closer. Sometimes he found himself biting his bottom lip in desperation when he saw them, trying to wrangle back that feeling of jealousy. He wanted something they had. Something close to him, something he could protect everyday.
Though he was a gentleman, and as such he had to make sure others needs were met before his. But sometimes he just....
Just what?

Peri nodded, smiling, then sighed. She cast a rueful glance over at her back. "This is going to slow me down a bit until it fully heals. Betcha it's the kind of wound that makes itchy and easy to tear scabs too." She made a face. It was probably just her luck that the wounds had to be in one of the areas that her skin moved then most, be it walking, running, or any other activity.

"I can find a herb to help with the itching, though it's harder to find in forests." He commented, smiling at the vixen. "I'd be glad to make a paste for you." He looked to the side, noting items he could use to make a make-shift pouch so she could carry the medicine.
Slowly, he sat on his haunches, now taking the time to finally examine himself. Claw marks, bite marks, the sort, though he didn't pay as much attention to them as he did to Peri's.
