Upon moving Joachim up, he had switched places with Amphi. Riley haphazardly dropped Amphi down to Joachim'd old spot, and prepared to move on - but something caught her eye, and gave her an interesting image.
Sheridan, the quiet, intelligent celestial dragon, had actually signed up for this? What's more, as she had just put Amphi down beside him by mistake, she realized that her friend and this new student, who she'd just briefly met at Open House, would make a stunning couple, if based solely on color coordination.
Hmm..
It was good enough for her. She would look forward to seeing them at prom, if only because they would be one of the only couples who color coordinated, in more than just clothes.

Choices for boils seemed to have suddenly come to a screeching halt. She pressed her hand against Astra's paper, determined to find her little fairy friend an appropriate date, but the pickings were slim. Petro was a bit too large for her, and the attire he planned to wear might scare her jittery sensibilities. Deacon was... well he was Deacon. So that was out.
This left only one option.
She'd only met the boil for a few minutes at Open House, and she didn't remember those minutes very well as she'd been hopped up on sugar. She did, however, remember that he was rather clever with riddles. He was also not very large, nor very scary, and certainly he was interesting. Astra deserved no less - and it was this that cemented the choice for her. She switched Colette and Astra's names, to set Astra down next to Cat.
She hoped this meant her little friend had a good time at prom.

And with some hesitance, Riley had to suddenly come to terms with the fact that she had two boils, and four ghouls. She knew that this could be easily remedied by choosing two of the more easygoing ghouls to go with each other.
Riley never liked to take the easy route on any occasion.
Ah, Petro. Riley picked up the piece of paper with the proud and gallant horse boil's name on it, and eyed it pleasantly. You will be so handsome at the prom. You will surely claim victory that night. You deserve a lovely lady on either arm. Do forgive me if this overexerts you, my friend. She murmured mischievously as she settled Petro down between Colette and Tset. But I think you will do them proper justice as their escort. You were interested in an entourage, after all.

And, of course, that only left...
Deacon.
Riley picked up the paper with his name, rolled her eyes, and shuffled the papers on her desk around to accomodate the final choices. She scanned for the remaining two ghouls, and set them beside Deacon's name, once she had found a spot for three.
Now, Deacon. She muttered sharply to the piece of paper, as her fingernail stabbed the D in his name. You will be a proper gentleman, to these ladies, at the prom. If not, I will find out. And the next time I set you up for prom, I will have to put you in the ladies section, for lack of any physical proof of manhood.
The paper did not seem to argue back.

 The list was set. At least, it looked like it. Riley counted, and recounted, before plucking out the paper that she'd slipped into her pocket. She flipped the paper over, and scribbled (who are we kidding, Riley doesn't scribble. Her words were written just as elegantly as ever.) Efflo's name behind it.  Now, let us see..

 When she looked down to see where the paper had fallen, Riley could not be more pleased with the result. Not only was she sure she had picked an adequate date for her fairy friend, but now she and said date would be arriving in style.  In a horse-drawn carriage, no less. She was, perhaps, a bit jealous. Nevertheless, she set about to contacting Efflo, to let him know who the lucky couple would be.

Several days later, on each of the students doors will be found a very formal looking envelope attached by a ribbon. Inside is a small picture taken of them as they entered the prom, with best regards from Riley, and hopes that they enjoyed their night.
